Singer-songwriter Katy Perry recently took to social media to express her discontent regarding her fiance Orlando Bloom’s new TV series. ‘Orlando Bloom: To The Edge’ features the British actor attempting daring stunts and extreme sports, something ‘American Idol’ judge Katy Perry clearly isn’t a fan of, reports ‘Mirror.co.uk’.
The show has not been well received by the ‘Roar’ hitmaker.
Katy, 39, voiced her disapproval of her partner’s participation in the programme on her Instagram, advising him to “don’t ever do this again”.
According to ‘Mirror.co.uk’, the three-part series showcases Orlando attempting skydiving, diving underwater without an air tank, and rock climbing.
“The person who has been #OnTheEdge this whole time is me,” Katy said regarding the show’s series trailer released on social media.
“Stream baby daddy @orlandobloom’s show on @peacock now to see why I’m so proud, but don’t ever do this again.

It’s no surprise that playwright Sarah Ruhl would think of Taylor Mac, whose preferred gender pronoun is “judy” (with a lowercase “j”), to play the eponymous character in her stage adaptation of Orlando. In Virginia Woolf’s novel, written as a tribute to her lover Vita Sackville-West, a 16th-century English nobleman travels from the court of Queen Elizabeth I to Istanbul, where he changes gender and lives into the first quarter of the 20th century as a woman without aging beyond 30. In a program note for the production currently at the Signature Theater, Ruhl notes, “building an ensemble production around the divine center of Taylor Mac has been a profoundly happy experience.”
Mac is the performance artist and playwright best known for A 24-Decade History of Popular Music. That epic extravaganza of music and cabaret received numerous critical citations and was short-listed for the Pulitzer Prize in 2017. It was...

Orlando Bloom wanted to push himself for his Peacock docuseries “Orlando Bloom: To the Edge” — but that also meant those along for the shoot were stretching the limits of what they thought themselves capable of, too. After all, how are you going to capture footage of Bloom wingsuiting if you’re not up there with him?
“I was in the plane for most of his jumps, and I’d try to get intimate and close,” cinematographer Doug Glover told IndieWire. (Glover worked on the first two episodes and Gareth Leah did the third.) “You can really see his mental focus. I was able to get a few feet from him, and the first time he jumps with the wingsuit, just watching his facial expressions as he prepares… He’s very calm and quiet, and then he gets very fired up. And then figuring out how to shoot that with the...

Exclusive: HBO is teaming up with Doctor Who producer Bad Wolf to develop a series about Inigo Philbrick, the flamboyant art dealer jailed for committing more than $86M in fraud.
Bad Wolf has secured the rights to All That Glitters, an upcoming memoir from Orlando Whitfield, who was a close friend and business partner of Philbrick.
The Sony-owned production company is in the early stages of developing the HBO series, which Whitfield hopes can be like Succession in the way it depicts the lives of the elite.
HBO declined to comment on the project. Bad Wolf previously made Industry for HBO and the production company’s co-founder Jane Tranter was an executive producer on Succession.
Whitfield and Philbrick met in 2006 at London’s Goldsmiths University, where they became best friends and later started the I&o Fine Art dealership.

British actor Orlando Bloom made fun of his fiancee Katy Perry’s outfit before it “broke” live on ‘American Idol’.
The actor took to his partner’s Instagram post to mock her look, comparing it to a cooking utensil, reports Mirror.co.uk.
‘Firework’ singer Katy, 39, had posted snaps of her attire to the social media platform and while most were extremely complimentary of the metallic top, Orlando was less so.
He jibed: “Glad I could bend that frying pan with my bare hands for you baby.”. Katy couldn’t help but respond with a witty comment of her own, jokingly hitting back, “@orlandobloom wow good one and I didn’t even write it this time.”
As per Mirror.co.uk, actor Alexander James Rodriguez couldn’t help but get in on the couple’s banter. He commented: “@orlandobloom hehe let’s hope it’s not bent around your ear later.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom appeared to enjoy their time together at the 10th Annual Breakthrough Prize Ceremony, looking all loved-up clad in matching glitzy black ensembles.
A-list celebrities, business figures, and tech leaders gathered at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Saturday to celebrate science and mathematics luminaries and their achievements in fundamental physics, life sciences, and mathematics.
But Katy and Orlando appeared to be in their own world, holding hands, staring into each other’s eyes, and rubbing noses on the red carpet.

Veteran metal vocalist John Bush is fronting a new supergroup dubbed Category 7, and the band has already inked a deal with Metal Blade Records.
The outfit features Bush alongside guitarists Phil Demmel and Mike Orlando, bassist Jack Gibson (Exodus), and drummer Jason Bittner.
It was Demmel and Orlando who initially conceived the idea for the supergroup, sharing the desire to form a classic twin guitar unit a la Thin Lizzy. Bittner and Gibson were the next two on board, and after demoing early material, the musicians tapped Bush to be the frontman.
“Mike Orlando’s and Phil Demmel’s awesome riffs made writing lyrics over the music a piece of cake,” Bush said via a press release. “The rhythm tandem of Bittner and Gibson rounded out the sound and the connection felt like it was put together in the stars. Obviously, everyone being a veteran of the metal scene made it that much easier.

If you’re like us here at Reel Action, you probably love martial arts movies. And if you love martial arts movies, chances are, you are a fan of Mark Dacascos. And if you’re a fan of Mark Dacascos, then you probably know the movie, Only the Strong. Only the Strong is the best Jean-Claude Van Damme movie that Van Damme never starred in. In fact, if you look at the director’s filmography, he had a successful collaboration streak with Jcvd that led to Only the Strong. However, the movie actually fares better without him, because it features a star-making turn by the unanimously perceived underrated martial arts actor Mark Dacascos. Add in the teacher-savior plot and an introduction to a unique brand of martial art and you have an incredibly fun way to spend 90 minutes. We talk Only the Strong on this entry of Reel Action.

Prior to making headlines the next day after a short-lived health scare that required a brief stay in hospital, Ireland’s President Michael D. Higgins arrived at Dublin’s Complex arts center last Wednesday to present the Dublin film festival’s highest honor to Steve McQueen. Introduced in 2007 and named the Volta Award, after the first commercial cinema set up in Dublin in 1909 by writer James Joyce, its previous recipients include Daniel Day Lewis, Claudia Cardinale and Al Pacino. The famously serious director was in high spirits, enthusing that “festivals are about passion, a passion for film.” “There’s always a buzz, isn’t there?” he continued. “[As you] go to the next picture, the next film, you tend to give people tips and say, ‘Oh, you’ve got to see this, you’ve got to see that…’”

Living Colour frontman Corey Glover has formed a new band, Sonic Universe, who have shared their debut single “I Am” from their forthcoming album, It Is What It Is, out May 10th.
The group sees Glover in collaboration with guitarist/producer Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob), bassist Booker King, and drummer Taykwuan Jackson.
Glover’s longtime band Living Colour — which remains active — is a good frame of reference for Sonic Universe. On “I Am,” the band lays down a very Living Colour-esque brand of funk metal while Glover’s commanding voice soars in full flight. Doubling as the album opener, the upbeat jam is a fitting way to launch a new chapter in the singer’s career.
Running 10 tracks in length, It Is What It Is was produced, engineered, and mixed by Orlando at Sonic Stomp Studios. Pre-orders are available via earMUSIC.
As mentioned, Glover still remains active with Living Colour...

Sony Pictures Classics has acquired all rights worldwide to Nathan Silver’s Between The Temples starring Jason Schwartzman and Carol Kane, following its buzzy world premiere at Sundance and ahead of its upcoming international debut at the Berlinale.
Billed by SPC as a comedy “exploring the complexities of belief, connection, and what it means to be a real mensch”, Between The Temples co-stars Schwartzman as is a forty-something cantor who is losing his voice and possibly his faith following the death of his wife.
As he struggles to meet the expectations of his rabbi, congregation, and not one but two Jewish mothers – played by Dolly de Leon (Triangle Of Sadness) and Caroline Aaron (The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel) – his life is turned upside down when his grade school music teacher (Kane) re-enters his life as an adult bat mitzvah student.
Robert Smigel (Leo), Madeline Weinstein (Beach Rats) and Matthew Shear (Mistress America) round out the cast.

As of today, the traditionally protective Walt Disney Co will have to deal with an onslaught of Mickey Mouse parodies, mockeries and likely rather explicit variations as the iconic character slips into the public domain.
Sorta.
In the sober light of 2024, Steamboat Willie, the 1928 short that effectively launched the empire that Walt built, can now be used by anyone and everyone. The legal status of Mickey and Minnie Mouse from Steamboat Willie and Plane Crazy, from earlier that same year, has been long fought over and probably not something to which Disney was looking forward. Yet, in a new year that also sees Virginia Woolf’s groundbreaking Orlando, Peter Pan, Charlie Chaplin’s The Circus, Buster Keaton’s The Cameraman and Tigger from AA Milne’s The House at Pooh Corner now in the public domain, if you are anticipating a Steamboat Willie free-for-all, think again.

Because they managed to dip their toes into so many different genres, The Beatles covered Tony Orlando’s doo-wop version of an old song. “I was pretty heartbroken though, but it was the first like serious one where I was like off the map for a little bit. I had to figure out myself. And I mean it sucked, but the ride is pretty cool, so I’m happy that the music came out of it at least,” Orlando said.
Orlando decided to split the music into three separate albums, each one about a different stage in his healing journey.

Montreal Nouveau 2023 Review: Orlando, My Political Biography, FInding Truth & Joy Between the Pages
If only we could all be like Orlando, the character from Virginia Woolf's novel: go to sleep for a week to effect the great transformation likely all of us have desired at some point. In Orlando's case, it's a change of sex, from cisgender male to cisgender female. As Orlando heraself notes, nothing else has changed - she is the same person, just with different parts. And yet, in much of the world today, transgender people face incredible obstacles to make that transformation into their real selves. It's no wonder that filmmaker and philosopher Paul B. Preciado felt so drawn to the character and story, that when asked to make a film about his experiences as a transgender man, he chose to frame it through...

Katy, Orlando and Carl are in the middle of a legal battle over the home, as he claims that he had not been in the right state of mind to sign any binding contracts and wanted to avoid the sale.

When I was a younger man, I used to love movie novelizations. These paperbacks would often add context to films, create whole new scenes, and give you a unique glimpse into the world of a movie that you might not get from watching alone. It was special. The movie novelization seems to be a dying art form these days, which is a shame. While they still exist, they don't seem as prevalent as they once were. Thankfully, we still have the classics. One such classic novelization is Curtis Richards' take on John Carpenter's "Halloween."
Published by Bantam Books in 1979, the novelization wasn't just a standard adaptation of Carpenter and Debra Hill's now-iconic script — it also added entirely new material, like a flashback that provides some background about the curse of Samhain, some stuff about cults, and more time with serial killer Michael Myers during his asylum days. Michael's...

John Carpenter’s Halloween (watch it Here) was a huge hit when it was released in 1978 – and the following year, it received a novelization that was written by Richard Curtis under the pseudonym Curtis Richards. A lot of Halloween fans have had a chance to read that novelization and many have had positive things to say about the prologue, which takes place “in northern Ireland, at the dawn of the Celtic race” and happened to be an influence on some of the ideas in Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. But the book has also been out of print for more than forty years, so it wasn’t always easy to find a copy of it. Printed in Blood is looking to change that, as they have announced that they are going to be reprinting the Halloween novelization by Curtis Richards!

Pat Robertson, the televangelist who ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 1988, died on Thursday at age 93. The Christian Broadcasting Network, which Robertson founded in 1960, announced the news Thursday morning.
Robertson is widely credited with ushering Christian-conservatism into mainstream politics in the 1980s and 1990s, and laying the groundwork for the modern right-wing culture war. He has a history of extreme, bigoted commentary — including that gay people and abortion caused 9/11, that Haitians deserved the 2010 earthquake that ravaged the island nation, and that feminists are evil.

Los Angeles, March 29 (Ians) Singer-songwriter Katy Perry hasn’t tasted a drop of alcohol in over a month after making a promise to her fiance Orlando Bloom.
The ‘Firework’ singer, 38, revealed she wanted to quit drinking and made a pact with the Pirates of Caribbean actor, reports ‘Mirror.co.uk’.
She made the admission while attending a curated cocktail event of all things. However, she didn’t participate in trying out any of the drinks in New York – instead leaving that part of the night to fellow American Idol judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and the show’s host Ryan Seacrest.
