Yesterday we got to check out some pictures on the Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice set that confirmed Zack Snyder was shooting the scene where 2/3 of the Wayne family meet their demise. While shooting continues in The Windy City, Chicago native Mike Eisenberg took to Twitter to confirm that IMAX cameras were in use for the pivotal scene, as well as outlining some troubles production was having in regards to adapting them to the colder weather. Take a look: Lots of people waiting...

It’s no secret that comic book fans are some of the most diehard, detail-addicted aficionados of any creative artform. So, in this day and age of practically zero secrecy surrounding movie shoots, why the persistence by said fans in spoiling Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice?
Now, granted, there’s a hefty bunch of interested parties who have no inclination whatsoever in capturing shaky hand-held footage of a film shoot that they can post online to boost their social (network) status. However, there are an even more determined few whose sole mission this year has been to snag a ton of photos and videos from Zack Snyder’s upcoming superhero caper. Many of which are guaranteed to spoil a significant chunk of the film, including this latest batch of media to hit the web.

We recently just got word that just one sequence in Star Wars: The Force Awakens was shot using IMAX cameras, and it turns out another big blockbuster might be using the giant film stock under the radar as well. SlashFilm noticed a tweet from Mike Eisenberg, a Chicago man who owns and operates his own production company, saying, "I can confirm with my own eyes that Batman vs Superman is filming at least the Wayne murder scene with full IMAX film cameras." Now the internet is full of lies, but this seems to be a legitimate observation on the set of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice as Before the Trailer corroborated the claim and Batman News also said the same. So just what were they shooting in Chicago? This particular sequence in question was reportedly the iconic comic book scene where Bruce Wayne's parents are killed. So it...

Batman-News have spotted a couple of Tweets from Chicago's own Mike Eisenberg, and they seemingly confirm that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is being shot at least partially in IMAX. If nothing else, the murder of Bruce Wayne's parents is being filmed using them and you have to imagine that a number of other scenes will be as well. Based on what we know about the highly anticipated 2016 movie, not All of it is being filmed with these cameras, similar to The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises from Christopher Nolan. The site also reveals - via their sources - that Martha Wayne's pearls (which fall to the ground during the shooting) are set to be added by CGI. Lots of people waiting in cold to watch scene film, but it looked like the IMAX cameras were not handling the cold well. Could be a while. — Mike Eisenberg...

"Do not go gentle into that good night; Old age should burn and rave at close of day." So what does it all mean? Cooper, Amelia, Tars, Murph – what was Christopher Nolan trying to tell us? With Nolan's new sci-fi Interstellar now playing in theaters (here's our Sound Off) I decided to hop on a podcast with my friend Mike Eisenberg of Tall Tale Productions (known as @Eisentower30 on Twitter), a fellow Nolan nerd (his dog is even named Nolan!), to discuss the movie in-depth. We wanted to talk about all the spoilers, theories, Nolan's big ideas, the science fiction of it and compared notes on what we experienced. So here's a podcast-length recording of our Skype discussion on Interstellar, and don't forget this has spoilers! Enjoy. Isn't this just adorable? I love a good movie-themed marriage or prom proposal. One of our regular readers, Mike Eisenberg, a creative director at up-and-coming film company Tall Tale Productions, just proposed to his fiance Kailey, a lead producer at the same company. The way he proposed was by taking her to their local cinema and having them print up a special ticket on their own ticket stock that said "Will You Marry Me?" as the title and info instead of an actual movie title. Aww. He posted a few photos online and I asked his permission to repost them, as a bit of charming cinematic romance leading into this holiday weekend. Here's the two photos of the proposal ticket that Eisenberg posted to his twitter account @Eisentower30: Mike tells the story: "I wanted to do something that made sense to our relationship. We love movies. It is the foundation for the whole relationship.

Why Watch? Baseball is at the heart of Mike Eisenberg‘s short film, but its life blood is the bond between family members and the hard reality of losing that bond. In it, Sam (Steffan Argus) has to come to grips with his grandfather’s death. Gorgeously shot on the Red Mx, it’s not the kind of bombastic genre fare that usually gets notice. It’s contemplative and relies heavily on strong acting work and characters that mirror ourselves. Heavy in the right ways, this movie draws out emotion without leaving you empty. In the spirit of full disclosure, I know Mike, but the quality here should speak for itself. What will it cost? Only 14 minutes. Skip Work. You’ve Got Time For More Short Films...

Welcome back to another edition of Kickstart This, FirstShowing's weekly column dedicated to spreading the word about cool indie projects that need your help to become a reality. Take a look at these three latest projects, sound off in the comments below, and don't forget to toss the filmmakers a few bucks if you can. See them below! First up, there's Homewrecker. My friend Mike Eisenberg (who writes at The Movie Mash) has lamented the incessant appearance of infidelity as a plot point in movies these days, and I totally agree with him. In what’s a decidedly different version from the trailer released yesterday, nevermind it being a longer one too, watch this international trailer that debuted in Manila for 20th Century’s Fox wildly anticipated Prometheus. After the enthusiastic response yesterday at WonderCon and all over the internet, many were full of praise for the new preview:
Devin Faraci (@devincf): “New Prometheus Trailer rules. Brush up on your Chariots of the Gods.”
Mike Eisenberg (@Eisentower30): “Somebody give the trailer-makers a statue. They are unreal.”
Ed Douglas (@EDouglasWW): “The fact that Ridley Scott hasn’t won an Oscar is an enormous crime.”
Garth Franklin (@darkhorizons): “Scott’s certainly made The trailer for a film this Summer. Beats the crap out of any Avengers or Tdkr clip so far.”
The Playlist (@ThePlaylist): “Nolan’s move. Prometheus trailer is outstanding.”

From the moment the end credits rolled, I knew then (sitting in a darkened theater back in July 2010) that Inception was going to a film that would get audiences talking — and not just because of its ending. It’s a thought-provoking and awe-inspiring film. I didn’t really need to tell you that, I am positive you all agree with me. In fact, I’ve seen (and participated in) the many varied discussions and debates held in our discussion forums attesting to it. These discussions have been taking place in internet forums, living rooms, coffee shops, and emptied out theaters for the past year and a half. Naturally, Inception was a perfect candidate for the Blackwell Philosophy and Pop Culture Series of books; a collection of publications that dissect and philosophize various popular works of media, from Harry Potter to South Park.

We advise you not to listen if you haven’t seen the IMAX prologue… or Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, The Ides of March, Deathly Hallows Part 2, Marley and Me or Superman Return for that matter. Ok, I know we said earlier today that this was going to be the final Muppets parody trailer after a long, long stream of clever Muppet parodies. But then we saw this one over on ScreenRant, which uses audio from the recent Avengers trailer, and we just can.t help ourselves. We have to post it. Mike Eisenberg edits the clip, and it.s pretty spectacular. We won.t see The Muppets until Nov. 23, but here.s what I already know about it. The footage shot by director James Bobin fits with Any audio from any movie, ever. Part of me wonders if I.ll be distracted thinking about the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Green Lantern and Paranormal Activity jokes that synch up with the Muppets images once we.re able to sit down and watch the actual movie. We've been getting a taste of the violence and mayhem that director Christopher Nolan has in store for us in his third and final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, thanks to "spy" pics and videos captured by the scores of amateur photographers and paparazzi who have swarmed the Pittsburgh sets of the movie in recent weeks. Don't get us wrong, we like our Batman grim and gritty and we love what we see of The Dark Knight Rises so far, but we also feel it's all getting a little too, well, dark already. Which is why we get a kick out of this video trailer edited by ScreenRant's Mike Eisenberg, which takes footage from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and remixes it to make Nolan's movies look like a romantic comedy where Bruce Wayne's (Christian Bale) enemies are not criminals, but the men who stand between him and...

Tribeca Flashpoint student Mike Eisenberg (Film + Broadcast 2011) recently had a phone interview with writer/director J.J. Abrams. Abrams has brought his unique vision to small screen hits (Lost, Fringe) and big budget blockbusters (Star Trek), but Super 8 might be his most original creation yet. J.J. Abrams has quickly established himself as one of the hottest filmmakers of this generation, with a direct link to the hearts of entertainment fans. But his latest work may be his first genuinely original idea. Stemming from his love of movies as a child, Abrams set out to make a movie that explored the energy of his youth. As the director puts it, 'I wanted to do a movie that revolved around a kind of revisiting of my childhood of being a kid making Super 8 films.' But that wasn't enough for Abrams. 'When I hit upon the ...

I’m sure by now you all are familiar with the results of the 2011 Academy Awards. And you’re probably quite aware that Inception took home 4 Oscars this past Sunday night. It’s not breaking news, or news even, but we have to talk about it right? So we’ll try to make it interesting by including video clips and opinions. Let us remind you that Inception was nominated for a total of 8 Academy Awards. Quite famously none of those 8 were for Best Director. Here is what the nominations were for: Art Direction, Cinematography, Original Score, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Visual Effects, Original Screenplay, and Best Picture. And here’s the breakdown of the half of those it did win.
First up, Best Achievement in Cinematography. Inception had just lost the first award of the night, Achievement in Art Direction, to Alice in Wonderland. Not the best sign for Inception‘s night it would seem.

Saw 3D comes out today, and this will be the last Saw movie that we see! That is until Linosgate decides to reboot the franchise next year. Here is a little video edited together by Screenrant‘s Mike Eisenberg that explains everything you need to know about the first six films in just 6 minutes and 66 seconds. At least that's how the video is being marketed, it's actually 7minutes and 07 seconds long.
I know these films have been being released every Halloween, but I don't see them as being Halloween films. I'm not sure why, I just don't get the Halloween vibe from them.
It's safe to say this video contains spoilers. Check it out below and let us know what you think!

Do you want to see Saw 3D this weekend but aren't up to speed on the franchise? Well, have no fear, you can now get completely caught up in the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee. In honor of the Halloween season, Mike Eisenberg from ScreenRant has put together a very informative and very Nsfw compilation of the previous six Saw movies. Suffice it to say, the six minute and sixty-six second video is overrun with spoilers and extremely intense scenes from the franchise that started the "torture-porn" sub genre of horror flicks. Let me reiterate: The following video is not for younger viewers due to language and intense imagery.
