20th Century Studios announced production is now underway on Deliver Me from Nowhere starring The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White as The Boss. Based on Warren Zanes’ 2023 book of the same name, Deliver Me from Nowhere will primarily shoot in New Jersey and New York.

Production is officially underway on the upcoming Bruce Springsteen movie, “Deliver Me From Nowhere.” The movie is slated for a 2025 theatrical premiere.

The film will be directed by Scott Cooper, who is known for his work on “Crazy Heart” and “Black Mass,” and stars the Emmy-winning star of “The Bear” Jeremy Allen White as Springsteen. Specifically, “Deliver Me From Nowhere” is based on Warren Zanes’ book of the same name, which chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album. In a statement to press, Cooper called the beginning of production “an incredibly humbling and thrilling journey.”

Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman find a way to make holiday travel even more challenging than usual in the trailer for the Netflix thriller Carry-On.

Director Jaume Collet-Serra’s airport-focused action film hits the streaming service Dec. 13. Rounding out the cast are Sofia Carson, Danielle Deadwyler, Sinqua Walls, Logan Marshall-Green, Theo Rossi, Josh Brener and Dean Norris.

Carry-On centers on an inexperienced Tsa agent (Egerton) who ends up in a battle of wits with a mysterious traveler (Bateman) after the stranger blackmails him into allowing a dangerous package onto a flight on Christmas Eve.

“You have 10 minutes before everybody in this airport dies,” Bateman says in voiceover in the trailer. “All you have to do is nothing.”

Collet-Serra (Black Adam, Jungle Cruise) helmed the movie from a script by T.J. Fixman. Dylan Clark produces the film, while executive producers on the project include Collet-Serra, Holly Bario, Brian Williams, Seth William Meier and Scott Greenberg.

Hollywood stardom is a cycle, with It Boys and Girls emerging every couple of years and going through periods of ubiquity before they either make it to mega-stardom or decide to take a different path. While that initial push by producers and studios of "Hey, world, here's your new leading actor!" can be distasteful or off-putting to audiences who haven't quite embraced an up-and-coming actor yet, it can also leave the projects these ingenues make during this period high and dry, the films themselves treated like a byproduct of a separate agenda. Williams died after a motorcycle accident on June 12, 2023. He was 71 years old. His Emmy nomination for a limited or anthology series comes after the final curtain call for his role as CBS head Bill Paley in the second season of Feud.

Lionsgate has set a release date of Labor Day weekend, August 30, for the action crime thriller 1992, which is one of Ray Liotta’s final film roles. The Emmy-winning actor co-starred in the movie opposite Tyrese Gibson. In addition today, Snoop Dogg boarded the movie as EP through his Death Row Pictures banner.

1992 joins other wide entries on August 30: Sony/Blumhouse’s horror movie They Listen, Showbiz Direct Distribution’s Dennis Quaid title Reagan, and Roadside Attractions’ Jason Patric thriller City of Dreams.

Liotta died in May 2022 at the age of 67 from heart and respiratory issues. At the time, there were several projects he had already shot, i.e, Elizabeth Banks’ Cocaine Bear and the Apple TV+ series Black Bird. Liotta received a posthumous Best Supporting Actor Limited Series Emmy nom for Black Bird; previously, he won the Drama Guest Actor Emmy in 2005 for NBC’s ER.

Laurie features as Uncle Étienne, a reclusive, agoraphobic WWI veteran suffering from Ptsd. Laurie has always been a classy performer and he again brings a lot of heart, warmth, and intelligence here to this role, as noted by several critics.

Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser are ready to get their kicks with a new action-comedy movie from director Peter Farrelly.

Farrelly is set to reunite with Amazon MGM Studios on Balls Up, which hails from Skydance. Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (Deadpool & Wolverine) wrote the script for the feature that focuses on two marketing executives who get fired for botching a potential opportunity. While using a pair of free tickets to a big soccer match, their drunken shenanigans cause everyone in the country to start hunting them down.

Producers include David Ellison for Skydance, alongside Wernick, Reese, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger and Andrew Muscato.

Farrelly is collaborating again with Amazon MGM after directing Zac Efron and John Cena in the studio’s Ricky Stanicky, which debuted earlier this year on Prime Video. Ricky Stanicky marked the There’s Something About Mary filmmaker’s return to comedy after winning an Oscar for his 2018 drama Green Book.

Exclusive: The upcoming Bruce Springsteen movie Deliver Me From Nowhere is continuing to add to its ensemble cast, as sources tell Deadline that Paul Walter Hauser is in negotiations to join movie. While not confirmed, sources say he will play longtime guitar tech Mike Batlan in the 20th Century Studios movie.

Marvel's First Family hasn't had much luck on screen. There was the infamous 1994 Fantastic Four movie produced by the late Roger Corman which never officially saw the light of day and then the big budget 2005 and 2007 movies starring Chris Evans, Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis.

Those weren't great and were a product of their time; so, when a reboot from Chronicle director Josh Trank rolled around in 2015, there was a fair bit of excitement among fans.

The trailers promised a body-horror tale but studio-mandated reshoots turned it into a mess.

The team has sat on the shelf ever since, though that will finally change next year with Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four. Filmmaker Matt Shakman has assembled an impressive A-List cast, including Black Bird and Cruella star Paul Walter Hauser.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor admitted that those awful past efforts made him think twice about starring in this latest reboot.

Apple TV+ is rounding out the cast of the upcoming drama series “Firebug” with four new additions.

Greg Kinnear, Rafe Spall, Hannah Emily Anderson, and Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine have all joined the series. They will appear opposite previously announced series lead Taron Egerton as well as cast members Jurnee Smollett and John Leguizamo. The role marks a reunion for Kinnear and Egerton, who both appeared in the Apple series “Black Bird.”

Spall is repped by UTA and B-Side Management. Kinnear is repped by CAA and Goodman Genow. Mwine is repped by TalentWorks, Gallant Management, Sloane Offer, and Viewpoint. Anderson is repped by Gersh, Gga, and Atlas Artists.

Rafe Spall (Trying), Greg Kinnear (Black Bird), Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (The Lincoln Lawyer) and Hannah Emily Anderson (The Purge) round out the ensemble cast of Firebug, Apple’s upcoming drama series, from Apple Studios and creator Dennis Lehane, starring and executive produced by Taron Egerton.

In addition to Egerton, the four join previously announced Jurnee Smollett and John Leguizamo.

Written by Lehane and loosely inspired by true events, Firebug will follow a troubled detective and an enigmatic arson investigator (Egerton) as they pursue the trails of two serial arsonists.

In addition to starring, Egerton will serve as executive producer alongside Richard Plepler through Eden Productions, Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas through Imperative Entertainment and Kary Antholis.
