Walt Disney once said that a man should never neglect his family for business. Disney has long explored the theme of family in many of its shows and movies. For example, Lilo & Stitch is a film that explores this theme with its iconic line: ‘Ohana means family.’
The upcoming Disney film Freakier Friday continues this tradition of exploring family dynamics by examining the relationship between a mother and daughter. Speaking of family, National Siblings Day is on April 10, which means social media will be flooded with social posts with #National SiblingsDay tags on pictures and videos that people post of their brothers and sisters.
National Public Radio even did its own reporting discussing the impact of National Siblings Day. Disney Channel has its fair share of exploring the dynamic of siblings in its shows. Here are 6 Disney Channel shows featuring iconic sibling duos that helped define the 2000s.

One fateful day in 1997, when Dan Scharf was a young attorney working as a public defender in Northern California, he spotted a job listing he thought might change his life. SAG in L.A. was looking for a lawyer. He typed up a résumé, stuffed it in a mailbox and crossed his fingers.
And he might have even gotten a response had he not written the wrong address on the envelope.
“I remember thinking, ‘This is not going to happen,’ ” he recalls when he saw “return to sender” on the letter. “But then I decided, ‘Screw it.’ I fixed the address and put it back in the mail.”
It was an inauspicious start to what would ultimately become a stellar legal career in Hollywood. Nearly 35 years later, Scharf is now one of the most successful in-house attorneys in town, serving stints not just at SAG — which finally did get his...

Nothing screams nostalgia quite like a return to the 2000s Disney Channel era, the decade of musical superstardom with memorable favorites including Camp Rock, Jonas L.A., and special guest appearances in Hannah Montana. Those in need of a sprinkle of Disney Channel nostalgia will be thrilled to hear that a fair dose is on the way, in the form of a Jonas Brothers Disney holiday movie.
In first-look photographs of A Very Jonas Christmas, the trio are bundled up in winter-warmer attire, complete with hats, gloves and scarves as they stand looking wistful amidst a snowy landscape. However, in true Jonas Brothers' style, the pensive looks are short-lived with another shot capturing them on the town and Joe in an outfit reminiscent ofElton John's signature style. Naturally, this earns the confusion of his brothers Kevin and Nick Jonas, who can't quite seem to piece together what is going on.

One of Hollywood's most exciting talents working today, Austin Butler has been steadily building his portfolio since working as a background actor in 2005 on the Nickelodeon shows "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide," "Unfabulous," and "Drake & Josh." Butler even appeared in an episode of "Hannah Montana" that also had Larry David. Progressing into guest and recurring roles on a variety of teenage sitcoms and dramas, the actor made an incredible turn-about going from teen idol to highly acclaimed leading man seemingly over night.
While working extensively in both film and television, Butler also received complimentary notices in the theater world, most notably as Don Parritt in "The Iceman Cometh," in a 2018 mounting of the play on Broadway with Denzel Washington. His work ethic during that play impressed the legendary actor so much Washington personally recommended Butler to Baz Luhrmann helping Butler, helping Butler land one of his most distinctive roles.

TV is a pivotal part of popular culture and fans love nothing more than to immerse themselves in a beloved character's world. But all good things must come to an end, and a lot of long-running shows reach their final conclusion. Whether fans appreciate a show's ending or not is another issue, but there's no denying that it is extremely difficult to wrap up a TV show.
However, not every writer has their last hurrah written in stone. Plots change, networks disagree, and cast members have conflicting schedules, making an ending quite hard to formulate. In response, a lot of shows create alternative endings, giving fans a wealth of final moments to choose from.

Camp Rock star Demi Lovato recreates her dance moves from the 2008 Disney Channel movie in a nostalgic new social media video. Directed by Matthew Diamond, the family musical takes place at a music camp for gifted teens, chronicling the journey of Mitchie Torres (Lovato), a kitchen worker, as she embraces her inner stardom and bonds with teen pop idol Shane Gray (Joe Jonas). Camp Rock, which also stars Nick and Kevin Jonas, Alyston Stoner, and Maria Canals-Barrera, remains a memorable Disney Channel hit in large part due to its songs, including Lovato's climactic "This Is Me."
In a recent video posted on Instagram, Lovato recreates the knee-jerking dance she does during Camp Rock's "This Is Me" song while at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The video sees the star doing the dance in several locations around the park, including on a main pedestrian path and in front of a line of storm...

While the role of Hannah Montana is now known as the role that launched the career of superstar Miley Cyrus, in another reality, it would have been the big breakout role of Pretty Little Liars starLucy Hale. From the mid-2000s to the early 2010s, the names Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus were inescapable as they were a cultural phenomenon. After 17 years, Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert still remains the highest-grossing Super Bowl weekend opening and Hannah Montana: The Movie grossed $155 million worldwide in 2009. It is hard to imagine anyone else in the role of Hannah Montana, but it turns out the role could have been very different if she had looked like Katy Keene's star.
During BuzzFeed’s The Puppy Interview, Hale revealed many of the high-profile projects he auditioned for over the years, including Pitch Perfect, 50 Shades of Grey, and even recently,...

Lucy Hale revealed that she auditioned for the lead role in Hannah Montana before Miley Cyrus was cast, an experience she credits with solidifying her desire to act. During BuzzFeed’s The Puppy Interview, Hale reflected on the numerous roles she auditioned for over the years, including Pitch Perfect, Hairspray, 50 Shades of Grey, and The Substance.
“Oh my gosh, so many,” she said. “I feel like, because I’ve lived in L.A. almost 20 years, everyone who gets the role is always, it’s meant to be their thing, but for every ‘yes’ to an audition, there’s like a lineup of 200 that you heard a ‘no’ for.”
Hale recalled that her Hannah Montana audition happened when she was 14 and still living in Tennessee. “It was a couple years before they had cast Miley in it,” she said. “I remember the audition. It was a taped audition in Tennessee.

Lucy Hale rose to fame with her role in the hit TV show Pretty Little Liars, but she nearly found big success earlier than that as the star of a hit Disney series. While she didn't land that role, the experience was still amazing enough that it solidified Hale's desire to pursue an acting career.
Per People, Hale appeared on Buzzfeed's "The Puppy Interview" when she commented on some of the roles she didn't get over the course of her career, going all the way up to the recent hit film The Substance. She mentioned Hannah Montana as well, going on to clarify that she auditioned for the titular role, which ultimately went to Miley Cyrus. It's unclear how much Hale was considered for the role after she submitted her audition, though she noted that it was very early in the process, "years" before Cyrus was cast.

Lucy Hale Says She Auditioned for the Lead Role in ‘Hannah Montana’: ‘Made Me Want To Be An Actress’

Teen drama fans may know Lucy Hale as the stylish, crime-solving Aria Montgomery on “Pretty Little Liars,” but she almost played another iconic YA role: Hannah Montana.
Participating in Buzzfeed’s “The Puppy Interview,” Hale was asked about which roles she’s auditioned for that would surprise viewers, and she rattled off a number of movies, including “Pitch Perfect,” the 2009 version of “Hairspray,” and “50 Shades of Grey.”
Among the titles Hale listed was “Hannah Montana,” the beloved Disney Channel series following a teenage pop star who juggles dual identities. Though the title role in “Hannah Montana” would eventually go to then 13-year-old Miley Cyrus, Hale revealed she also auditioned for the part.
“It was a couple years before they had cast Miley in it,” she explained. “I remember the audition. It was a taped audition in Tennessee. It was the audition that made me want to be an actress.

Mitchel Musso was a prolific Disney Channel star who was on one of its biggest shows, "Hannah Montana." According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of the highest-rated episodes drew in over 10 million viewers. The secret superstar sitcom was one of the few series to make it past Disney Channel's dreaded 65 episode rule because it was too popular to cancel. Musso, with his Justin Bieber-style hair swoop and earnest smile, played Oliver Oken — a sweet, outgoing kid known for his quirky catchphrase, "Fricky Fricky Fresh."
He also voiced Jeremy, the guitar-playing object of Candace's affection on the animated series "Phineas and Ferb." When "Young Sheldon" first aired, the most jarring aspect was the lack of a laugh track. Its parent show, "The Big Bang Theory," was a standard multi-camera sitcom with a laugh track that was arguably a little too loud, at least according to the haters. The fact that "Young Sheldon" chose the single-camera no-laughter route — much like "Malcolm in the Middle" or "Scrubs" — was a surprise choice with a lot of meta implications. Why does old Sheldon get a laugh track but young Sheldon doesn't?
Of course, fans quickly got used to the lack of laughter on "Young Sheldon" (which made it a better show), especially as the show grew darker as the characters matured. We've grown so accustomed to watching the Cooper family in this new realistic format that its spinoff show, "George & Mandy's First Marriage," now has the opposite problem: the show has a laugh track even though its parent show had none.

Hannah Montana first arrived on The Disney Channel in 2006, and the protagonist immediately amassed an avid fan base. The show centers around a talented artist named Miley Stewart, who is forced to balance the struggles of her normal life alongside her role as a hit pop star called Hannah Montana. While it wasn't aimed at every type of audience, it was a massive hit with young girls. The show managed to capitalize on tons of merchandising opportunities, as well as a spin-off film that was released in 2009. Yet, a bizarre leak suggests that Disney was keen to adapt this show into an anime alongside Toei Animation.

Actress and rock 'n' roller Taylor Momsen made her screen debut at the age of three, appearing in a 1997 Shake 'n Bake commercial. In the ad, she noted that Shake 'n Bake dinners were an excellent sign of her mother's love, and she demonstrated the product with aplomb. It's Shake 'n Bake, and she helped. Momsen was also, at the time, working as a child model, something she recalls hating. In a 2011 interview with Bethesda, Momsen said that she recalls being busy a lot as a toddler and that she wasn't given a lot of time to spend with friends. Her whole life, she said, she was in and out of school.

Sunday Am: In a motion picture industry crunched by streaming, where studios are watching their ledgers closer than ever, Super Bowl weekend might be worth the spend to drop a tentpole trailer during the big game ($8M for 30 seconds of time this year), but it sure as hell isn’t a place to open a movie anymore.
True, more often than not, Super Bowl weekend is the frame where titles open to single digits, and studios have used the frame over and over again as a dumping ground. This year wasn’t any different.

Why didn’t Miley Cyrus react when her top fell on TV? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
As she belted Party in the USA in Miami, the chain on Miley Cyrus’ silver chainmail top snapped mid-performance. Instead of panic? A sly grin, a quick exit, and a fiery red blazer revival. “Everybody’s definitely looking at me now,” she quipped, rewriting her own lyrics.
For Cyrus, live TV chaos is just another Tuesday. The former Hannah Montana star, who grew up on Disney’s polished sets, leaned into the “tight-rope walk” of unscripted moments. “They want to see you dangle, but they don’t want to see you fall,” she told British Vogue later. Hosting with Pete Davidson—a duo NBC billed as “wild” and unpredictable—Cyrus leaned into the hype. “We promoted the show as, ‘You never know what’s going to happen,’” she joked.
The malfunction wasn’t her first rodeo.

In a promo video, Nick, Joe and Kevin hold up cards on a holiday-decorated front porch as snow falls behind them. “Hi! We’re the Jonas Br…,” Joe initially says as Nick cuts him off, “No, don’t say it! The whole point is you don’t say it, you just let them read it.”

Keke Palmer recently opened up to The Cut about how she learned rather quickly as a young actor in Hollywood that “people were putting limitations on me.” Palmer headlined the popular Nickelodeon show “True Jackson, VP,” for three seasons totaling 53 episodes, from 2008 to 2011. She was 15 years old when the show premiered to record ratings on Nick.
Despite Palmer finding great success as a Nickelodeon teen star, she said “I wasn’t necessarily in the same conversations as Victoria Justice or Selena Gomez or Miley Cyrus at that time.” Those actors headlined their own successful shows “Victorious,” “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “Hannah Montana,” respectively. Palmer said her series got isolated and “it was very much ‘That’s the Black show’ or ‘That’s Keke Palmer, the Black girl on the network.’”

For many people who were born in the mid-2000s, the Disney channel was home to some of the most iconic shows of their childhood. With shows like Wizards of Waverly Place, Hannah Montana, and That’s So Raven, children of the age had a diverse cast of characters and troublemakers to watch and enjoy.
Though if you’re talking about troublemakers, you’d be remiss not to mention The Suite Life of Zack and Cody which starred Dylan and Cole Sprouse as two trouble making twins living their best life in The Tipton Hotel (and later cruise ship in Suite Life on Deck). Whilst the cast of the show has now grown up, the audience has stayed with many of the actors - in some cases helping them in their career, though in some cases, such as Brenda Song, providing a new set of anxieties.

Brenda Song was once one of Disney's most well-known young stars. At 16 years old, she made her debut as the rich and ditzy London Tipton in the Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. The series ran from 2005 to 2008 and was spun off into The Suite Life on Deck, which ran until 2011. Sandwiched in between this period, Song's career also included playing the titular action-adventure lead in Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior.
Along with co-stars like Debbie Ryan, Cole Sprouse, and Dylan Sprouse, Song was one of Disney Channel's most prominent stars in the 2000s. She made crossover guest-star appearances on series like Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place, playing her London Tipton role. After leaving Disney Channel, her career slowed down for a while as she played smaller parts in TV shows. Song is back again, however, with a major film role.

Many stars got their start in Disney Channel Original Movies and television shows, but some of the former Disney child stars eventually disappeared from Hollywood. Any millennial who grew up watching and loving the Disney Channel will recognize Kay Panabaker. Her breakout role was on The WB's "Summerland," the Aaron Spelling drama about teens being raised by their aunt after the death of their parents.
Although not listed as one of our best Disney Channel shows of the 2000s, she was in season 1 of "Phil of the Future," a quirky sitcom about a teenager from the year 2121 stuck in the year 2004. Kay Panabaker brought her warm energy to the role of Debbie, a sugary sweet girl with preppy clothes and a sunny smile that is also hiding something. She also starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Life is Ruff" with Kyle Massey from "That's So Raven" and Mitchel Musso from "Hannah Montana.

Disney Channel has launched the careers of several young actors who are still working in the industry today. Disney stars like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and the Jonas Brothers began their careers in popular Disney Channel shows like Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, or the iconic film Camp Rock, before becoming international superstars. Yet sometimes, child stars have a hard time growing up in the entertainment industry or maintaining the same level of success in their different projects throughout time.

Celebrities are no strangers to engaging in charitable works, albeit for different reasons. While some go out of their way to support causes they’re passionate about, in certain cases, it also serves as a good PR move. But in Miley Cyrus’ case, it seems like the latter.
