George Lucas changed the course of science fiction and influenced generations to come with his epic space opera Star Wars. While the filmmaker only helmed the first film in the original trilogy, he was involved in the creative decisions that have made the franchise one of the most loved pop cultural milestones in Hollywood.
While Lucas’ billion-dollar franchise has fans worldwide, the movies have also come under stark criticism. Since the beginning of the franchise with A New Hope, Lucas has been accused of writing bad dialogue and crafting stories that were more kid-friendly. Lucas himself admitted to his shortcomings with dialogue and mentioned that the movie does not require smart lines.

Johnny Carson has arrived on Netflix. Or rather, a deepfake version of him has.
A scene in Jerry Seinfeld’s new movie for the streamer features the comic in a scene with Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon on a 1960s-era episode of The Tonight Show.
Unfrosted, which is Seinfeld’s directorial debut, follows the (highly fictionalized) creation of the Pop-Tart in the 1960s.
The scene in question features Seinfeld’s character, fictional Pop-Tarts mastermind Bob Cabana, appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1963. Since Carson passed away in 2005, creating the scene meant deepfaking Carson’s face while an actor delivered the lines in Carson’s voice. That role went to comedian Kyle Dunnigan.
In an interview with Comicbook.com, Unfrosted co-writer and producer (and former Fox late-night host) Spike Feresten revealed that Dunnigan insisted on finding new angles into a Carson impression.

Something awkward happened to Anne Hathaway during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week!
The Oscar-winning actress was on the show to promote her new movie The Idea of You, which is based on a book of the same name.
The Idea of You tells the story of a 40-year-old single mom who starts a romance with the 24-year-old lead singer of a popular boy band.
Anne decided to ask the audience if anyone has read the book… and the audience wasn’t responsive at all.
Keep reading to find out more…
Jimmy hilariously responded, “No, we don’t read. This is The Tonight Show. You want to go to Stephen Colbert if you want to get people to read books. Lame! We do Audible here.”

Peter Jackson’s iconic The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is probably one of the greatest trilogy ever made. Starring an ensemble cast of several actors and a thousand extras, Jackson had an ambitious project on his hands.
During the auditioning of the film, MCU star Jake Gyllenhaal also auditioned for the role of a Hobbit in the film. Not putting effort into his acting and not doing a British accent, Peter Jackson had some harsh words for Gyllenhaal back in the day!

Doja Cat stopped by The Tonight Show for a soulful performance of her recent song “Acknowledge Me.” Appearing on the dimly-lit stage, the singer was joined by her band and a group of six back-up singers for the evocative rendition of the track, which comes off the deluxe edition of her LP, Scarlet.
The rapper also joined host Jimmy Fallon for a chat about the album and her performances at Coachella last month. She later dressed Fallon in her Coachella ensemble, which is covered in hair, and taught him some dance moves.

While appearing on The Tonight Show on Monday, Lynskey shared with host Jimmy Fallon that Ritter had to redo their engagement because his first one was “so confusing.”

Law & Order Svu did a lot for Ice-t’s acting career when casting him on the show way back in 1999. But it was a good thing Ice-t was cast in his more mature years. If he was approached for the show when he was younger, he might’ve turned it down.

“When Dick Wolf put me on the show, he said, ‘Ice, you don’t like the cops, do you?’ I said, ‘Not all of ‘em. I ain’t got problems. Some of ‘em are cool.

Noted talk-show host Jimmy Fallon would have had a completely different life if he had picked up on a hint years ago. The SNL alum was reportedly blindsided when actress Nicole Kidman brought up a ‘date’ they had back when she was single after her divorce from Tom Cruise. Fallon reportedly did not know that it was a date.
The talk-show host later revealed that he was extremely embarrassed by the revelation, which came after Kidman married country rockstar Keith Urban. Fallon also revealed that in the years since Kidman’s confession, the crush has become a running joke between the three and has even led Fallon to prank Kidman.

Hollywood has been known for long as the glitzy world of flashy dreams and shattered romances. And more often these two happen together, as young faces struggle to make a name for themselves in the industry, while making new bonds and leaving old ones behind. Comedian and actor Jimmy Fallon’s rise to stardom is one such inspirational story, but his obliviousness to romantic hints is just as hilarious.
The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon
Before he married Nancy Juvonen in 2007, Fallon had associations with a number of beautiful actresses, such as Nicole Kidman and Kate Hudson. However, the comedian failed to pick up on their clues, either due to being too focused on his career, or flat-out believing he never had a chance.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to play ping-pong with Prince you’ve come to the right place. On this week’s episode of 20 Questions on Deadline, Jimmy Fallon tells a frankly bizarre story about the “Purple Rain” legend and his penchant for table tennis.
We also gain insight into Keith Urban’s sense of humor as Fallon reveals a prank he and Urban once played on Nicole Kidman at an event, plus, the shame-inducing ‘date’ Fallon went on with her years ago.

Never underestimate the power of Conan O’Brien’s fanbase. The former late-night host has made it his mission to help a Norwegian fan have a hit song in Norway—and his efforts appear to be paying off.
It was just last week that Norwegian rap duo E.D.A. released “Velkommen Til Klubben” (aka “Welcome to the Party”), featuring a verse by O’Brien.
E.D.A—consisting of Dilettant (Jarle Hjellvik Wallevik) and Ola B (Chris Wallevik)—were featured on the first episode of the new Max series Conan O’Brien Must Go, which sees O’Brien make a surprise visit to Jarle Hjellvik Wallevik’s home in Norway.
In the episode, Conan goes to the studio with E.D.A. and performs an improvised bridge to the song.
But Conan’s contributions to the track didn’t end after he laid down the vocals. The host used his much-ballyhooed return to...

Michael Kors is back on Rodeo Drive after a nearly four-year hiatus. The new 1,500-square-foot Michael Kors Collection store opened at 242 N. Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills on April 18 and is the first North American location to premiere the brand’s new conceptual design for its collection boutiques.
A wide glass door welcomes customers to the street level of the two-floor store — which is done in walnut shelving, antique brass, gold Calacatta marble and oxidized maple — where shoes and handbags from the latest collection are showcased opposite a large video wall. In the lower-level study, the intentionally minimalistic space is decorated in a neutral color palette of grey, white and black. Mannequins are styled in items from the brand’s Spring-Summer 2024 collection, like the black chantilly lace bodysuit ($890) and matching skirt ($2,690) topped with the double crepe sablé boyfriend blazer ($2,290) and the suntan chantilly lace slip gown ($3,890).

The Daily Show, Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show and Jimmy Kimmel were all winners this morning as The Webby Awards named its 2024 recipents.
Late-night shows and hosts had been nominated in 16 categories this year. All told, only six of those categories went without a late-night program winning either the Webby or People’s Voice Award.
Three late-night shows were named academy-voted Webby Award winners. SNL won in the Video, Events & Live Streams category for its Monologue Live Stream. The Daily Show won two — its “Patriot Hammer” video for Best Writing, and its YouTube Channel for Best Variety Series or Channel. The latter simultaneously took home a People’s Voice Award. Jodie Foster is undoubtedly one of the biggest female stars in Hollywood. The actress made a name for herself by playing the young prostitute Iris Steensma in Scorsese’s Taxi Driver, after having appeared in Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore two years prior. But, while her filmography includes some important titles like The Accused (1988), Sommersby (1993), Maverick (1994), Contact (1997), Anna and the King (1999), Panic Room (2002), Flightplan (2005), Inside Man (2006), The Brave One (2007), Nim’s Island (2008), Carnage (2011), Elysium (2013), The Mauritanian (2021), and Nyad (2023), her best-known role is that of Clarice Starling in The Silence of the Lambs, which also brought her her second Oscar. Recently, she also appeared in True Detective: Night Country.
But, while she has definitely gathered a large number of major roles, she has also – as you might have assumed – rejected and lost several other major roles, and from what we know now, one of these roles was a major Star Wars role.

Acting in a Marvel movie is not easy, for the actors pretty much are supposed to act against a green screen with imaginary characters. The fan expectations and pressure coupled with the monotonous set environment add to the troubles, and hence, many actors describe having a terrible time shooting Marvel flicks.

Dave Bautista, who starred as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers movies, described how different the process is while filming an MCU flick. Especially compared to his latest box office blockbuster, Dune, the actor revealed one crucial difference that made it easier for him to shoot the Denis Villeneuve sci-fi flick.

Few documentaries have been as genuinely shocking as director Andrew Jarecki’s 2015 true crime documentary series “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst.” Using existing media, reenactments and exclusive interview footage of Durst, who had agreed to be interviewed by Jarecki, the six-episode series investigated three unsolved murders in which Durst had been a suspect. It was a captivating spectacle that became a game-changing piece of art when, the day before the series finale aired on HBO, Durst was arrested for first-degree murder after being caught on a recording stating, “What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course.”
Nearly a decade after winning the Emmy for Best Documentary or Nonfiction Series, Jarecki is back with “The Jinx — Part Two.” Premiering Sunday at 10/9c, the HBO series details the events of the next eight years, during which time Durst was tried and convicted of the murder...

Next week is shaping up to be particularly quiet one in late night, with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night With Seth Meyers, and Saturday Night Live still on an extended Spring break, and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert set to join them.
That will leave just three shows producing new episodes: Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Daily Show, and After Midnight.
That’s not to say that the others will be out on the beach drinking Mai Tais. Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers were both in Los Angeles this past week participating in promotional events for their shows, and Colbert will be following in their footsteps Sunday, as he and The Late Show team are scheduled to talk up their show at LA’s Dolby Theater as part of this year’s PaleyFest.
Meanwhile, at least a half dozen SNL cast members are out on the road.

The 1970s– an era of “unrest and mistrust, fear and violence,” says the opening minutes of Colin and Cameron Cairnes’ Late Night with the Devil, accurately reflecting the viewpoint of the burgeoning moral panic of the time. Fear mongering-ish as that sounds, after a decade of Christianity in crisis mode– including a 1966 Times cover asking, “Is God Dead?”– and the “Satanic” cult murders by the Manson Family in 1969, the ’70s were a time of peak (at least until then) obsession with all things occult, planting the seeds and ultimately leading to what would be known as the full-blown Satanic Panic in the decade to follow. The devil was believed to be real, and he was to be feared, expelled, and/or worshiped– in real life and reflected in dozens and dozens of horror films and countless categories of other media within that era.

We’ve seen Jimmy Fallon jam like this before, but never with so many collaborators.
Pulling from his recurring bit of performing songs with classroom instruments, Fallon and Keke Palmer led a theater full of Television Academy members in a group rendition of the song “Wild Thing.”
Fallon managed to sing, play kazoo, and provide percussion while conducting the audience, who were given kazoos, cowbells, and maracas to play along. Palmer took on kazoo duties as well.
Fallon shared a video of the performance on Twitter/X:
Thank you to @KekePalmer and everyone who came out to the Pacific Design Center yesterday for our Tonight Show #FYC event, and for helping us out with an impromptu Wild Thing Classroom Instruments. That was fun. pic.twitter.com/IdFj40Nd3I
