Mama’s gotta pump — even 30,000 ft. off the ground.
Always one for keeping it real in new parenthood, Jenny Mollen used Instagram Tuesday to share a few snaps of herself using a double breast pump in an airplane bathroom.
“Remember that Kelis song, ‘My milkshake brings all the boys to the lavatory’?” she joked in the caption of a mirror selfie, sharing more photos of the process to her Instagram Story.
The mom of two — who shares sons Lazlo, 6 weeks, and Sid, 3½, with husband Jason Biggs — followed up her airplane posts with photos of her continuing to pump while attending a screen test.

1. “BoJack Horseman” Season 4 (available September 8)
Why Should I Watch It? “BoJack Horseman” transcends animation, comedy, and any other genre you want to put it in. Raphael Bob-Waksberg’s story of a horse looking for significance in all the wrong places — Hollywoo to be literal, fame and fortune on a figurative level — delves into deadly serious topics like drug overdose, depression, and alcoholism while still finding time to make endless animal puns and elicit deep belly laughs. It’s goofy, fun, exciting, poignant, and profound, often all at once. Don’t miss “BoJack.”
Best Episode: Though there are no spoilers in her review, IndieWire TV Editor Liz Shannon Miller watched all 12 episodes of Season 4 and says “maybe [Episode] 2” is the best of the lot. She also noted “they are all my children,” in a rather creepy bid to imply every episode is quite good. Enjoy.

Photo by Darren HughesThe Unknown Girl opens with a handheld close up of Dr. Jenny (Adèle Haenel) examining a patient. “Listen,” she says, handing her stethoscope to Julien (Olivier Bonnaud), a medical student who is interning at her clinic. Never ones to shy away from a glaring metaphor, Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne announce in that brief exchange their film’s driving thematic and formal concerns. When Jenny later learns that her decision to not allow a late-night visitor into the clinic might have contributed to the young woman’s death, she puts her skills and training to new purpose: listening for clues that might help solve the murder. The Unknown Girl differs from the Dardennes’ previous fiction films only in its more obviously generic plotting. This seems to have contributed to the uncharacteristically mixed reviews that greeted the film at its 2016 Cannes premiere, where it was faulted for failing to...

Chicago – It takes a collaborative village to make a movie, and part of that collective came to Chicago to promote “Landline.” Director Gillian Robespierre, Co-Writer Elisabeth Holm and debut actress Abby Quinn were essential to the film, which is set in 1990s New York City and features Jenny Slate in the lead role.
“Landline” refers to the 1990s period just before the tech/mobile phone boom and the loss of grit in urban New York City. Based on the growing-up experiences of Gillian Robespierre and co-writer Elisabeth Holm, the story is about transitions… Dana (Jenny Slate) to adulthood, the last days of being a teenager for her sister Ali (Abby Quinn) and the dissolution of their parent’s marriage (as portrayed by Edie Falco and John Turturro). It has a bit of a “slamming doors” edge to it, as misunderstandings and family connections blend into a very human story. Slate,...

Chicago – Jenny Slate keeps getting more high profile, both in voiceover work (“The Secret Life of Pets”) and as an actress. Her latest film is “Landline,” her second with director Gillian Robespierre. In the film, Slate portrays an engaged-to-be-married “adult” who is having trouble coming to terms with her life.

Xx – an all-female directed horror anthology – couldn’t push against genre representation at a better time. You’d think those involved would come out fiery, focused and full of appropriate rage given current gender voicelessness. This was a chance for horror to champion female filmmakers, yet assertions are tepid at best. Even past the failed settling of gender scores, Xx lacks horror establishment of the basest engagement. Only one chapter stands out (victorious because of competition), while three more efforts drag their feet without enthusiasm. No statement is made, no mic is dropped and no lasting message lingers past the credits. Enjoy another mixed bag of spooky stories that do no bumping in any night.
Please note, such disinterest isn’t because my feeble male brain can’t comprehend a different perspective. Three of the four main characters are mothers, all caught in family dilemmas. That’s not where my disconnection stems.

It’s arguably a rare sight when female characters lead a major genre film, and last year’s online Ghostbusters drama proves it’s still, depressingly, a controversial choice if they do. Too often, female characters are reduced to sidekicks, damsels, sex objects and caricatures. It sometimes feels like every day there’s a new statistic about women being under-represented in Hollywood and while, to some extent, things are looking brighter and more diverse by the day, it’s an uphill struggle. Still, as we wait for Hollywood to get its act together, I thought I’d celebrate a genre where awesome, strong, multi-faceted female characters have led casts as a regular occurrence for decades - martial arts!

After the inauguration of President Donald Trump on Friday, women’s marches were held all over the world, with people traveling long distances to Washington, D.C., or walking in their hometowns.
And it wasn’t just those of voting age who marched. Plenty of kids came out to participate, too — and they brought with them some of the best signs from the marches.
Like this kid, who knows that sometimes, words just aren’t enough.

When Sleepy Hollow debuted four seasons ago, Ichabod Crane was a time-transplanted Colonial Army captain with an eidetic memory, a yen for donut holes and a keen ability to apply historical wisdom to modern supernatural snafus.
But over time, series star Tom Mison notes, the peculiar genius was as likely to save the day as he was to be moved to the brink tears by bespoke emoji while hopped up on dental anesthesia.

Let’s take a moment to examine how utterly, heartbreakingly and repeatedly screwed Ms. Jenny Mills has been in the short time since Sleepy Hollow introduced her.
Crazy mom. Absent dad. Bounced around the foster system. Had a traumatic incident with a terrible demon as a young teen. Locked up in an insane asylum for telling the truth about the whole demon thing. Possessed by a different, though no less horrifying, demon. Tossed back in a psych ward. Sleepy Hollow‘s Jenny gets a very funky gift-with-purchase in this exclusive sneak peek at Thursday’s episode (Fox, 9/8c) — and unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the kind of thing she can easily return.

The Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover, like any TV “event,” was one heck of a trick to pull off. Good thing it was also — particularly its second hour — quite the treat.
The Sleepy side of Fox’s Halloween-themed evening was a solid episode that entertained, stayed true to its characters, caused a few laughs and even managed to forward the season’s overarching story. What more could a Hollow heart want? (Well, maybe Ichabod in a slightly more inventive costume…)

Here’s the weirdest thing about the long-heralded Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover: It’s just not that weird.
I say that with a sense of pleasant surprise — and a lot of relief. As a formerly ardent-now-casual fan of Bones and someone who covers Sleepy Hollow for TVLine, I feared that the two-hour event would distill the quirkiest aspects of Brennan, Booth, Mills and Crane. (“Look at Ichabod gaping at Brennan’s mass spectrometer!” “See Booth and Abbie get into a pissing match about Bureau protocol!”)
That tactic, however, would overlook that both series are about a handful of oddballs with a whole lotta heart.

Four out of five dentists agree: Sleepy Hollow‘s latest monster of the week is truly scary.
That sounds as commonplace as one of the Paul Revere clichés Ichabod mocks during the episode, but think about it: Though the Hollow is frequently filled with nefarious supernatural beasties, they’re rarely the type to leave you with actual nightmares.

The Supreme Court just legalized same-sex marriage nationwide, and that's good news for the protagonists of "Jenny's Wedding," in which Katherine Heigl's titular character wants to marry her roommate -- and secret girlfriend -- Kitty (Alexis Bledel).
Unfortunately for audiences, though, this is one celebration that doesn't seem worth attending, thanks in large part to Jenny's awful family. They harp on her because she's unmarried (her mother, played by Linda Emond, actually utters the phrase "the clock is ticking" because Jenny doesn't have a family yet), and when she says she's in a relationship, they immediately ask when the wedding is. Um, how about we slow our roll, family?
But no, they insist, pressuring Jenny into eventually spilling the beans that Kitty is more than just a roommate, and come to think of it, they do want to get married. Cue horrible homophobia from everyone around Jenny, who...

Tiger Cop is a fine example of the classic 1980’s Chinese Martial Art genre. If you are fans of Yukari Oshima, Moon Lee and Cynthia Rothrock then this right up your street. Tiger Cop is two sets of extravagant trailers which pays homage to them movies and stars which brought us hard-hitting fight scenes over the years.
Maria Tran plays the new inspector on the force and right away she gets into trouble when introduced to her new partner. It’s a very well choreographed fight scene showcasing Maria’s hand to hand combat, the art of blocking and some very nice kicks. Maria really mixes it up, when watching the fights it takes me back to watching movies such as Angels, Outlaw brothers, Yes Madam and more.

Chicago – December 9th is the 2014 second season premiere of “Ground Floor,” the TBS workplace comedy featuring John C. McGinley (“Scrubs”), plus Skylar Astin and Briga Heelan (seen in the film “Pitch Perfect”). Chicago native Cindy Caponera is a writer and co-executive producer on the show.
In a variation on the “Slobs versus the Snobs” scenario, “Ground Floor” is set in a financial company that features a romance between an occupant of the upper floors – where the master-of-the-universe financial consultants hold court – and a worker on the “ground floor,” where the operations and maintenance crew resides. A big part of the hilarity is provided by John C. McGinley, playing a mentor character as in “Scrubs,” but in a softer and gently funny way. The chemistry between the featured couple, portrayed by Astin and Heelan, provides the conflict between the two parts of the company.

Pixar's upcoming "Finding Nemo" sequel, "Finding Dory," just uncovered a huge trove of information about the film's cast, plot, and setting.
"Dory" focuses on the titular fish (once again voiced by Ellen DeGeneres), and picks up only a few months after the 2003 original left off. Dory is living on the reef with Marlin (Albert Brooks) and Nemo, and joins Nemo on a class field trip, which triggers memories from her past.
The intel was revealed by Pixar president Jim Morris during a recent appearance at Ccxp (Comic Con Experience) in Brazil, where Morris also discussed the primary setting for the flick. A large portion of the film will take place at the Marine Biology Institute of California, described as a large rehabilitation complex for aquatic life where Dory was born, and from which she was released into the ocean at a young age.

Chicago – “Drinking Buddies” director Joe Swanberg’s latest release of the same star wattage is “Happy Christmas,” an even lower-fi story than the Olivia Wilde beer comedy, steered even more by the casting that it was able to assemble. However, with this movie Swanberg doesn’t so much worry about having a story that could be confused with a more mainstream romantic comedy if it were to have a bigger budget.
Rating: 2.5/5.0
This is pure home-brewed filmmaking, where it stars Swanberg, his baby son Jude, probably his Swanberg house, and maybe even the Swanberg laptop that he uses to edit films like “Happy Christmas” on. There is all definitely an intriguing factor, then, in seeing numerous actresses like Kendrick, Lynskey, and Dunham within this small movie. It’s working indeed, his endeavor to strip down film storytelling to its au naturale.

Chicago – One thing that struck me about writer/director Joe Swanberg’s previous “Drinking Buddies,” and made it one of my more celebrated from 2013 despite not really loving it as a film, was its importance to those good ol’ independent movies. Here were big flashy stars like Olivia Wilde and Anna Kendrick, not just acting in a movie of a lower budget, but creating a wider appeal out of a previously very niche aspect, without the film form itself changing much.
Rating: 2.5/5.0
As much as it may have been marketed as a hipper romantic comedy, the movie had the naturalism of the same types of films that are made with a five-person crew, and are only shown in urban art houses for a week. The only thing really different about “Drinking Buddies” was that it featured Olivia Wilde playing the role usually reserved for the director’s friend’s girlfriend...

Looming over “Bad Words” is the potential it could have had, as is, were it released ten years ago. With its focus of R-rated behavior poking at the projected innocence of children, along with the couple of chromosomes that keep Bateman’s Trilby from being a Vince Vaughn character, this movie is certainly a product of the comedies that have sculpted out the manchild story in the past decade.
Rating: 2.0/5.0
While the arrested development comedies of Todd Phillips and Judd Apatow have some influence on Bateman’s stepping-out as a director, its inspiration is much too late. For whatever could be cleverly shocking about a man telling a boy he’ll “slaughter him like a sacred cow”, has been exhausted. It’s not that we’ve become more PC, it’s that being non-pc has lost its sharpness.
Bateman uses a fairly fast mouth and an authoritarian command to have some fun with his character,...

Can you hear it in the distance? Listen carefully. It's the sound of all the Whovians down in Gallifrey awakening from their slumbering hiatus, all stampeding towards the Internet in preparation of the new season of 'Doctor Who' premiering on BBC America on August 23rd. And the BBC knows their audience. They know what we want. We want clues and hints and Peter Capaldi looking dashing. And they delivered with this first image from the first episode of the first season of the 12th (or 13th…or 14th…depending on your math) Doctor. Photo Credit: BBC So much to see in just one image. Let the parsing* begin! Okay we've got an old-timey stage curtain in the background and Clara is back in Victorian frippery so right off the bat we know we're back in turn of the century England. Most likely London. Moffat and company have really...

You've probably seen "Forrest Gump" so many times in the 20 years since its release (on July 6, 1994) that you can recite the dialogue by heart, starting with the line about life being like a box of chocolates.
You probably know that the film won six Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director (for Robert Zemeckis), Best Actor (for Tom Hanks), and Best Adapted Screenplay (for Eric Roth). You may even know about the digital trickery that was used to insert Hanks's low-iq Everyman into historical footage of real-life events from the Baby Boom years, or to erase Gary Sinise's legs for his role as double-amputee Lt. Dan.
Still, there's a lot you may not know, including what Forrest really said (in Winston Groom's novel that inspired the film) about life being like a box of chocolates, or what Hanks's Gump actually said at that protest rally, or which famous actors...

Chicago – An authentic voice in the film category of “romantic comedy” has emerged, and it is represented by lead actress Jenny Slate (“Saturday Night Live”) and writer/director Gillian Robespierre. One night stands, its consequences and yes, love is explored in the excellent new rom-com “Obvious Child.”
The genesis of “Obvious Child” came from a short film version in 2009, co-written and directed by Robespierre and featuring Slate. The feature length film is a clear-eyed exploration of a wacky stand-up comic (Slate), as she navigates her own relationship destiny – which includes a visit to the abortion clinic – after an errant and totally plausible one night stand. How the Robespierre/Slate team approach the material is totally charming and honest, which softens any debate and makes it mostly a funny and warm time-of-life story.

The world of cinema certainly has had its share of sympathetic bumbling and stumbling characters rich in both comedic and tragic layers and anything else in between. Some of these movie misfits are misunderstood and actually more aware then they appear. The combination of being slow-witted, clumsy, awkward, inept, unstable–it all has its entertaining points in the hapless scheme of things. Importantly, these bumbling and stumbling film figureheads generate a kind of loose-minded and in some cases underlying poignancy that resonates so soundly for global moviegoers to observe with embraced enthusiasm.
So let us take a look at a selection of klutzy candidates (both in seriousness and silliness) that inspire us to chuckle and root for in the column Whoops…Did I Do That?: Top 10 Film Bumblers and Stumblers (Note: the listing of the choices below are not in any particular order of preference):

Chicago – In his directorial debut “Bad Words”, Jason Bateman plays Guy Trilby, a foulmouthed 40 year old man who aggressively competes in local youth spelling bees. The children are confused, and their parents are furious. However, the isolated Guy has no fear, with all of the rule loopholes in his back pocket.

Just when you thought Beyoncé was poised to steal all of the pre-holiday thunder, Jennifer Lawrence continues her streak of being our completely adorable fantasy Bff.
Lawrence appeared on Conan Wednesday night to promote her sexy, ’70s flick American Hustle. Rather than dish on what Christian Bale is like in real life or whether or not Amy Adams is a natural redhead, Lawrence chose to regale the crowd with that awkward moment when a hotel maid found sex toys in her room. “Butt plugs,” to be exact. “Can you just trust me that it’s normal of a story?” she asked. Whatever you saw, Jenny! And how do you like your coffee again? Check out Lawrence’s disclaimer-laden story (“bought as joke” being our favorite) above, and try to think of another–if any–Hollywood star who could talk about butt plugs on national television without instantly being accused of sex addiction.
