Poll: Oscars Generational Milestones

It's Oscar season now, so I invite you to a little time travel: spanning almost a century of Oscar nominations and wins, this poll is about the major "first" and "last" performances generation-wise, from the oldest nominee ever (born 3 years before the American Civil War) to the youngest ever (born 2 years after September 11).

Which of these performances would you be the most interested to discover?

After voting, you might discuss the list here

Before checking the poll, a few observations:

  • there are no distinctions of genders; still, it's interesting that 75% of these are female performances
  • as you might expect, there are many child and elder performances in the list
  • for the sake of this poll, generations were defined by decades of birth
  • the terms "youngest/oldest" don't refer to the age of the performer in the year of his nomination but to the age in general.
  • out of respect for the still living actors born in the 1920s, I didn't consider their last winning and nominations as permanent
