Guns N’ Roses played the penultimate show of their 2023 tour at L.A.’s Hollywood Bowl on Thursday night, and they used the occasion to debut “The General.” “This could be very interesting,” Rose told the crowd. “If there’s ever a better place to fall on your face, I think this fuckin’ counts.” Check out a fan-shot video.
“The General” is one of many Chinese Democracy-era songs fans learned about long before the album came out. Former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach raved about it in a series of interviews.

The shocking new horror film Hellbilly Hollow will close the 20th edition of the New York City Horror Film Festival (Nychff), to be held at Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas (260 West 23rd Street) December 1 to 4, 2022.
After wowing fans with clips and guest speakers at Burbank’s Son of Monsterpalooza convention in October, Hellbilly Hollow will now make its World Premiere on Sunday, December 4 at the New York City Horror Film Festival, attended by director/actor Kevin Wayne and producer/actor Kurt Deimer. Rising rockstar Deimer also contributed songs to the film’s rousing heavy metal soundtrack. Hellbilly Hollow was produced by Andy Gould, who previously produced Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects, 31, Lords of Salem and Zombie’s two Halloween films, among others.
In Hellbilly Hollow, Deimer and Wayne play horribly scarred—and seriously twisted —brothers Bull and Tickles. The demented siblings run the titular haunted attraction, weaving in real murders and mayhem into their staged shenanigans.

So far, Rob Zombie directorial career has resulted in either terrible movies (House of 1,000 Corpses), movies that start strong than devolve into crap (2007's Halloween) or something of a mixed bag (The Devil's Rejects, The Lords of Salem). Or he makes The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, a nasty little bugger of a film where you'll want to stand in the shower for nine days after watching. How, then, this qualifies him to bring Groucho Marx's life story to the screen is anyone's guess, but stranger things have happened in Hollywood. As a matter of fact, looking into the details, Zombie's involvement begins makes a little more sense. amz asin="1593936524" size="small"The biopic, based on Steve Stolair's memoir "Raised Eyebrows: My Years Inside Groucho's House", will not span the comedic actor's whole career but rather his bizarre final ones as seen from his personal secretary/archivist and young fan's perspective.

Rob Zombie will direct a new biopic about the final years of legendary comedian Groucho Marx, based on Steve Stoliar's memoir, Raised Eyebrows, which chronicled his time as Marx's personal secretary and archivist, Deadline reports.
The screenplay will be written by Oren Moverman, who co-wrote the new Brian Wilson biopic, Love and Mercy, and earned an Oscar nomination for 2009's The Messenger, which he wrote with Alessandro Camon. Zombie will also produce the film, along with Cold Iron Pictures' Miranda Bailey, Amanda Marshall and Andy Gould.

Rob Zombie is stretching out beyond the horror genre with he and producer Miranda Bailey acquiring the rights to Steve Stoliar's memoir "Raised Eyebrows".
The book deals with the last years in the life of Groucho Marx, told by a young Marx Brothers fan who spent those years as his personal secretary and archivist and getting close to his idol as the curtain was coming down.
Other famous figures that feature in the story include Groucho's brothers Zeppo and Gummo, along with Mae West, George Burns, Bob Hope, Jack Lemmon, S.J. Perelman, and Steve Allen.
Oren Moverman ("Love & Mercy") will write the screenplay and Zombie is attached to direct the project which he, Bailey, Andy Gould and Amanda Marshall will produce.

Deadline exclusively announced today that Rob Zombie’s new film, The Lords of Salem, has been acquired for United States distribution. What this means is that the film will actually see a release. Whether it is going to be a proper theatrical release or not is anyone’s question. Anchor Bay films has acquired The Lords of Salem for U.S. distribution. Given Anchor Bay’s not so bright track record for theatrical genre releases, this recent news might be a bit off putting. Considering the fact that their widest theatrical release was in 200 theaters but that film was City Island. However, their horror theatrical releases have been done in waves of less than 100 theaters.
When asked about the acquistion, Zombie stated “I have always been a fan of the care and respect Anchor Bay has put into their genre titles. I can’t wait to work together to bring this bizarre,...

*Updated with the official press release* A number of distributors were looking to acquire The Lords of Salem after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, but it has been revealed that Anchor Bay emerged as the victor.
According to Deadline, Anchor Bay Films has acquired Us rights to The Lords of Salem with a minimum guarantee bid of around $1.5 million. Other companies that were in the running included Image Entertainment, Millennium Entertainment, and Open Road Films.
There are no details on how or when the film will be released, but unless Anchor Bay is really looking to get this in front of audiences around Halloween, we don’t expect to see it until next year. Traditionally, Anchor Bay is known for running very limited theatrical releases followed by a Blu-ray/DVD/VOD release right after. However, as Anchor Bay continues to expand it’s portfolio and get involved in bigger horror productions,...

Exclusive: Going into tonight’s Midnight Madness premiere of the Rob Zombie-directed The Lords Of Salem, there are three pre-emptive bids on the table. I’m hearing Anchor Bay is in the lead for the genre pic, but that Image and Bill Lee’s Millennium are also in the running. No deal will be made until after tonight’s screening, so a lot of distributors will be staying up late here in Toronto. The pic, scripted by Zombie, combines his backgrounds in music and fright fare. A Salem hard-rock radio DJ’s playing of a sinister heavy metal tune awakens a coven of nasty 17th century witches. The film stars Bruce Davison, Sheri Moon Zombie, and Dee Wallace and was produced by Zombie, Jason Blum, Oren Peli, Steven Schneider and Andy Gould. Im Global shopped the project here at the Toronto Film Festival. Zombie, of course, previously directed two...

We've seen tons of stills and behind-the-scenes images from Rob Zombie's latest film, The Lords of Salem, but really not much beyond that. No trailer, no clips, nothing. That being said, Artist Direct caught up with Rob and came back with a status report.
“I’m in the final stages of finishing the film. By the end of August, we’ll be done. The sound designers are still creating some of the sound effects for the movie. Once they’re done, I’ll go into the mix stage in August and mix the final sound for the movie. Then, I’ll be done,” Zombie explains.
“This movie is definitely a slow psychological burn…It’s a weird movie,” Zombie continues. “When you watch it, it seems like there’s not a lot happening for a while. However, what’s happening is you’re starting to get sucked into the pace of the movie though.

Rob Zombie is taking a break from horror on his next project. Deadline reports that the Halloween director is set to write, direct, and produce Broad Street Bullies, "a film about the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team that evolved from a cellar-dwelling expansion team into a team that racked up victories and penalty minutes in equal measure during the 1970s." Bullies will reportedly be in the same vain as Slap Shot.
The team was legendary badasses, they pummeled the Soviet Union's "supposedly invincible and tough" Red Army team so badly that they refused to return to the ice after the first period. The Russian team only agreed to play after they found out they were not going to be paid. The Flyers ended up winning the game 4-1. HBO did a documentary of the same name.

Rob Zombie will write, direct and produce the hockey drama "Broad Street Bullies" reports Deadline.
The film deals with the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team who evolved from a cellar-dwelling expansion team into one that racked up victories and penalty minutes in equal measure during the 1970s.
The physical play of the team was legendary, enough that when the Soviet Union’s supposedly invincible Red Army team played them, the Soviet team was roughed up so badly they left the ice in the first period (though they were eventually forced to finish the game).
Zombie has scored the rights to the team’s story and has the full support of the organization. He will produce with Andy Gould, Les Borsai and Jeremy Platt.
