Dune: Part Two has been available to purchase on Digital services for almost a month now, but Warner Bros. has finally announced a streaming date for Denis Villeneuve's critically-acclaimed sci-fi sequel.
Fans will get to return to Arrakis from the comfort of their couches very soon, as Dune: Part Two is set to premiere on Max next Tuesday, May 21.
Although the movie didn't reach $1 billion as some predicted (always a long shot in the current box office climate), it did pass $700 million worldwide, meaning a third film based on Frank Herbert's second novel, Dune: Messiah, is likely.
Part Three hasn't been officially greenllt, but is believed to be in the early stages of development - though there's no guarantee that Villeneuve will to return to complete the trilogy.
“If we go back, it needs to be real, it needs to be relevant," the filmmaker told Empire in a recent interview.

Jason Cloth, a Canadian financier with credits on dozens of films including “Babylon” and “Joker,” was hit with a $19.6 million verdict last week after failing to appear at a fraud trial in West Palm Beach, Fla.
A seven-member jury found that Cloth defrauded an investor on “The Pathway,” a TNT docuseries about the NBA draft, out of $6.6 million. The jury also awarded $13 million in punitive damages.
Cloth is also facing a class action suit in Chicago, where is accused of defrauding investors on “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” “Monkey Man” and other films out of more than $80 million.
“He’s made a career of telling people whatever they want to hear in order to get what he wants,” said attorney David Jonelis, who represented the plaintiff in the Florida case.
At the two-day trial, Jonelis presented evidence that Cloth had solicited the investment on “The Pathway” by claiming that it had been greenlit for five seasons.

Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible franchise has given fans many remarkable and unforgettable characters over the years, whether they are the protagonists or the antagonists. While each character has made their mark on the franchise, fans obviously have their favorites picked out and Rebecca Ferguson’s Ilsa Faust has a long list of admirers behind her.

Unfortunately, Ilsa met her demise in the latest installment in the franchise, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. Needless to say, fans were absolutely heartbroken including the writer of The Fall Guy, Drew Pearce, who also worked on Rogue Nation’s story. Ilsa’s death took the writer back to his time on Rogue Nation where for a brief moment he contemplated killing off an important character whose death would’ve sent fans into a frenzy.

[This story contains spoilers for The Fall Guy.]
After the many industry-wide challenges of the last four years, The Fall Guy screenwriter Drew Pearce just wanted to make a feel-good Friday night movie, and based on various metrics, the consensus among critics and audiences is that he and the rest of his collaborators succeeded. In ten years, the social framing around the David Leitch-directed movie won’t be that it opened to $27.7 million instead of a projected $30 million. Rather, the impression of a good action romcom will remain above all.
Pearce is no stranger to IP-driven films, as he’s officially written for Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3, the fifth Mission: Impossible film, Rogue Nation, as well as the Fast & Furious spinoff, Hobbs and Shaw. That also doesn’t include all the cups of coffee he’s had with other franchises in an uncredited capacity. So, compared to the aforementioned IP, the assumption is that The Fall Guy,...

Anya Taylor-Joy makes a very brief appearance in Dune: Part Two, but if and when Denis Villeneuve returns to helm his adaptation of Dune: Messiah, the Furiosa star will have a much more substantial role.
If you haven't seen the movie yet, spoilers follow.
In Part One, we learn that Paul Atreides' mother, the Bene Gesserit Lady Jessica, is pregnant with the late Duke Leto's child. When the Fremen take in the survivors of the Harkonnen massacre, Jessica agrees to become the tribe's new Reverend Mother (she isn't really given a choice) and is "persuaded" to drink the Water of Life (a blue substance that's been extracted from a juvenile sandworm).
This gives Jessica incredible foresight and knowledge of previous generations, while also awakening similar abilities in her unborn daughter, who begins to communicate with and seemingly influence her mother's actions.

The first Planet of the Apes movie under the Disney regime after absorbing Fox hits theaters this weekend with Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes poised to do $50M+ domestic, and $130M WW.
After the dull opening of Universal’s Fall Guy, Jesus, God, Saint Mary and Joseph, let’s hope those projections stay steady. Apes plans to pull in the under 35 guy demo in a way that Fall Guy did not. Presales stateside of around $3.1M, in line with what was the 3-day of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning ($54.6M), indicate a $50M-plus debut. That start in U.S./Canada isn’t far from the $56.2M opening of Matt Reeves’ 2017 movie, War of the Planet of the Apes, and that would be considered solid. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ has the advantage that it’s opening at a time with less competition than War of the Planet of the Apes.

Jonathan Bailey was so blown away by “Heartstopper” that he just knew he had to be on the show.
“Like so many people, I watched the first [season] and thought it was one of the biggest, most beautiful gifts to so many people, and I wish I had that growing up,” the “Fellow Travelers” and “Bridgerton” star told me at the Met Gala Monday night.
It was announced in late April that Bailey will make a cameo appearance as Jack Maddox, an Instagram-famous classicist and celebrity crush of Charlie (Joe Locke). “I had a mutual friend who knows [executive producer Patrick Walters] and I just said, ‘If there’s anything I could do to help and be a part of that story,’” Bailey recalled.
He said that the series, based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novel series of the same name, “really has changed the way people could grow and communicate around who they are.

In a shocking move that is shocking nobody this afternoon, Paramount Global President and CEO Bob Bakish is out. In are his (hopefully) crack replacement team. The “Office of the CEO” gang consists of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon CEO Brian Robbins, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios President and CEO Chris McCarthy, and CBS President and CEO George Cheeks.
Paramount Global reported its quarterly earnings on Monday, hence the timing. Company executives, those who remain at least, will host a conference call with Wall Street analysts (and the media listening in) at 4:30 p.m. Et.
“Paramount Global includes exceptional assets and we believe strongly in the future value creation potential of the Company,” Shari Redstone, the chair of Paramount’s board, said in a statement. “I have tremendous confidence in George, Chris, and Brian. They have both the ability to develop and execute on a new strategic plan and to work together as true partners.

Behind the scenes, director David Leitch and producer Kelly McCormick have been instrumental in the movement for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts to recognize stunts. The director-producer husband-wife team hasn’t been shy in using their new film, “The Fall Guy,” a love letter to stunt professionals, to advance the cause. And it’s a cause that is increasingly looking like it will become a reality; a significant victory came last spring with the creation of the new Production and Technology Academy branch, which includes stunt professionals and therefore supplies the necessary pathway to a Best Stunt Design category at the Oscars.
“We’ve always been in the shadows, [but] that’s not the problem,” Leitch said when he was a guest on an upcoming episode of the Toolkit podcast to discuss “The Fall Guy.” “That was maybe the misconception for the Academy, ‘Well, these guys want awards because they...

According to GiantFreakinRobot, Tom Cruise is rumoured to star in a remake of Clint Eastwood’s The Gauntlet, which Christopher McQuarrie will direct. Other scoopers, such as EmpireCity, have added that Scarlett Johansson will be starring alongside Cruise, which would mark the first time the two actors have worked together.
Nothing has been officially announced, so take all of this with a grain of salt for now, but both Tom Cruise and Scarlett Johansson have previously stated that they would love to work together. At the premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Cruise was certain that it would happen. “Look, I’ve watched her career her whole life,” Cruise said. “She’s enormously talented, very charismatic. It’d be fun. She could do everything. She could do comedy, drama, action, suspense. She’s someone that really draws you in on the screen, on camera. So absolutely, it’s gonna happen.

Rebecca Ferguson decided to leave the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise because her character Ilsa Faust was becoming a "team player".The 40-year-old star's alter ego was killed off in 'Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One' and she felt it was the right time to bow out as Ilsa's "unpredictable" element was being taken away.Rebecca told the UnWrapped podcast: "To speak very clearly – because I know a lot of people are sad about it, I'm sad about it – I had filmed three films. However, the actress explained that there was an offer on the table for her to return for Mission: Impossible 8, but she decided that she didn’t want Isla to become too much of a team player. “And we all can want different things, but for me, Ilsa was rogue,...

Updated, 10:27 Am: 20th Century Studios’ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes landed on Nrg’s three-week tracking Thursday with a $54 million domestic opening outlook, which jibes with what Quorum’s six-week projection was a few weeks ago.
Unaided awareness, which indicates that those being polled about the May 10-debuting movie already are aware it’s coming out, is strong with men over/under 25. However, first choice is a tad stronger among guys under 25.
As we told, you a start at this level for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes would be on par with the 2011 Andy Serkis-James Franco movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which debuted to $54.8M. Right now, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is expected to be the biggest opening of May. In the same breath, Warner Bros/Village Roadshow’s Furiosa is going to blare its loudspeaker once...

John Oliver took a left turn on Last Week Tonight and imagined a scenario where Stanley Tucci would be the host of the HBO late-night show.
While discussing Medicaid and everything wrong with the system, Oliver said the purpose of the show was not to make viewers feel good, otherwise it would be hosted by Stanley Tucci.
“If this show was supposed to make you feel good, it wouldn’t be hosted by me, it would be hosted by Stanley Tucci,” Oliver said as his reason for discussing hard topics affecting American citizens. “Can you imagine? You’d be watching an impossibly horny 30-minute deep dive on negronis right now.”
He continued, “That’s a better show. I wish this were that show. You wish this were that show. But guys, I’m sorry. It just isn’t.”

The global box office saw some encouraging rebound in 2023, and is off to a better than expected start in the first quarter of this year, but there’s been concern about a downward trend in per capita admissions, and not just because of the strikes’ disruption to the Hollywood theatrical pipeline, but audiences’ moviegoing tendencies have changed coming out of Covid. How to solve?
It takes two to tango, specifically between exhibitors and studios in order to rally moviegoing back to pre-pandemic heyday levels; last year’s near $34 billion global box office was still 15% behind the 2017-2019 average.
It all comes down to both studios and theater chains “working together to share information” said Paramount SVP, International Distribution, Helen Moss, “to elevate something new you can’t get at home.”
Moss’ remarks were made today during the CinemaCon Las Vegas session “Changing Tastes and Changing Landscapes” moderated by Deadline International Box Office Editor Nancy Tartaglione.

Tom Cruise is renowned for his work in the action genre throughout his career. What started with Top Gun (1986), began to expand with the actor gaining widespread acclaim for performing his own risky stunts in movies, including the Mission: Impossible franchise.
Tom Cruise in a still from Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning
With the franchise surging past the $4 billion benchmark (as per the Numbers), thanks to its intriguing storylines, Cruise’s star power, and iconic action stunts among others, it will be quite interesting to witness what the next installment has to offer. And it seems like the actor can take inspiration from Red Bull’s daredevil stunt.
Red Bull’s A Door In The Sky Stunt!
While risky stunts are no longer a pipe dream in the entertainment world thanks to several iconic action stars and stuntpeople who are ready to face it all, Red Bull’s 2017 story was mind-blowing.

The Trip To Baden-Baden didn’t go as planned.
Last summer, Imax CEO Rich Gelfond touched down in the German city for a conference of theater owners, looking to hype the blockbusters that were about to unspool on the company’s football-field-sized screens. But instead of excitement, Gelfond was greeted with outrage. “I was almost attacked,” he remembers, lifting his palm as if to ward off assailants.
All the sound and fury directed at Gelfond that day stemmed from a battle that had recently erupted in Hollywood between two top talents. At stake had been access to Imax’s screens: Tom Cruise and Christopher Nolan had both wanted them in July, among the busiest times for moviegoing.
But even Cruise, who had personally lobbied Gelfond to give his next “Mission: Impossible” tentpole a longer run, couldn’t outmaneuver Nolan. Nolan’s epic “Oppenheimer” was shot with Imax film cameras, which...

While 2023 was a great year for original releases, that is not true for several major franchises, including the fifth installment in Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones series. After being in the Disney oven for a long while, the sequel to 2008’s The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull finally saw the light, which, for the first time in the franchise, didn’t see Steven Spielberg helming.
Led by James Mangold, Dial of Destiny had a huge challenge heading into the box office, following its humongous budget, and unfortunately, ended up becoming a huge financial disaster. But despite becoming a huge flop, it’s nowhere close to the biggest box-office flop in the last decade.

Tom Cruise’s new movie, Mission: Impossible 8, is in the process of being filmed, and the sequel to last year’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One promises to deliver us yet another action-packed installment. And while the release date has been pushed back a whole year, updates are coming in quickly, and we have learned that Katy O’Brian has joined the movie cast in an unspecified role, as of the time of writing.
This piece of information is definitely welcome, as O’Brian has recently received praise for playing Jackie in the romantic thriller Love Lies Bleeding alongside Kristen Stewart, with Jena Malone, Anna Baryshnikov, Dave Franco, and Ed Harris also starring. Disney and MCU fans might know O’Brian from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, appearing as Jetorra, but also from The Mandalorian, where O’Brien played the treacherous Elia Kane. Moviegoers had to wait 36 years between “Top Gun” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” but the third film in the franchise might be coming much sooner. Paramount announced plans to proceed with “Top Gun 3” in January 2024, with Tom Cruise expected to return alongside Glen Powell and Miles Teller.
Cruise’s busy schedule, which includes a sequel to “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” and an untitled English language feature from Alejandro González Iñárritu, makes it unlikely that he’ll be able to start production on “Top Gun 3” in the immediate future. But according to franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer, “Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski’s new script is coming along smoothly.

Takashi Yamazaki, the Japanese filmmaker behind Oscar-winning smash hit “Godzilla Minus One,” has signed with CAA for representation.
“Godzilla Minus One,” on which Yamazaki served as writer, director and VFX supervisor, earned the first-ever nomination and win for a Japanese production in the VFX category at the Academy Awards earlier this month. As everyone knows by now, Tom Cruise is a man of many talents and one who doesn’t shy away from taking huge risks to get what he wants. For example, he trained to base jump with a wingsuit and a parachute for his role as Ethan Hunt in the latest Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning.

When it comes to social media engagements and interactions of the fans with the profiles of Hollywood icon Tom Cruise and former WWE Superstar and pro wrestling icon John Cena, they cannot be considered anything other than polar opposites of one another.
While at one place, Cruise is known to be completely dedicated to his career and posts only about his films and other ventures, Cena takes a different route and posts random pictures which has a deeper meaning that not everyone could understand.

But when it comes to words, both these stars are equal parts humorous on their Instagram, and when compared to each other, they both have some interesting bios to share. While Cena is more simple and direct with what he has to offer on his page, Cruise indulges in an inside joke about him running in almost all of his films.

Tom Cruise Once Slammed His Mission Impossible Crew For This Reason. (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Tom Cruise is very dedicated to his work and ensures his crew members do not fool around. The Hollywood A-lister has a pretty good reputation in the industry, barring the Scientology controversy, but he once lost his temper while doing Mission Impossible 7, aka Mision: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. An audio of him criticizing the crew members was allegedly published by a leading media outlet and at a studio in the UK.
The Mi franchise led by Cruise is one of his most popular ones, and the fans eagerly wait for every part. However, Mi 7 failed to create the same magic at the box office as its predecessors because of the Barbenheimer effect. It was released in the same month as Oppenheimer and Barbie. However, the actor has no time to get upset about that as...

As last year’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning (which has dropped the “Part One” subtitle since it hit home video) wrapped up, we saw that Tom Cruise’s Imf agent lead character Ethan Hunt would live to run another day – and pictures from the set of Mission: Impossible 8 (which won’t be called Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two after all) show him doing just that! Cruise running is a big part of these movies and his overall career, so it’s nice to see that Mission: Impossible 8 will indeed have him moving across the screen as fast as his legs can carry him. There’s even some video from the set as well, if you want to see this run in action.

Paramount will have to seriously consider this latest bid to purchase some of its assets.
There’s seemingly too much smoke around Paramount and its discussions with other companies regarding mergers and acquisitions for it not to eventually lead to some fire. The Wall Street Journal is stoking those flames yet again by reporting that Apollo Global Management is offering $11 billion to acquire Paramount’s TV and movie studio, which is more than the market capitalization of the entire Paramount Global company, which also includes multiple TV channels, merchandising, and more.
Key Details: Apollo’s interest in Paramount was first reported earlier in March. Acquiring just Paramount’s studios would allow Apollo to sidestep regulatory concerns regarding CBS. Paramount is still mulling an offer from David Ellison of Skydance Media, as well. Get 30 Days Free $5.99+ / month paramountplus.com
