Though she’s starred in Broadway’s “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Follies,” and “Gypsy,” the 1982 film version of “Annie,” and television’s “The Good Fight” and “Mozart in the Jungle”—not to mention her two Tony Awards, a Golden Globe, and the John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement—Peters never lost her taste for dessert. Below, watch Peters work her magic on some frozen yogurt in this classic commercial for Breyers. We’re melting. Looking for your big break? Check out our commercial audition listings!

In the Old West, small homesteaders run afoul of a big landowner who controls the local law and levies killer taxes on their ranches and farms. The homesteaders finally refuse to pay the taxes, and petition the governor for help. Meanwhile, expecting reprisal from the landowner’s hired guns, they build a makeshift fort for refuge. They also send for help from a mercenary who comes to their aid with his private army of four associates and a Gatling gun.
Just kidding about the Western setting. This is actually the plot of “Gonin No Shokin Kasegi,” also known as “The Fort of Death,” a 1969 Japanese chambara by Eiichi Kudo. Nevertheless, the similarities are there. The homesteaders are peasants, the landowner is their oppressive feudal lord, and the higher official they’ve petitioned is the emperor. It’s easy to squint and superimpose an Old West setting out of an American B movie,...

According to Deadline, director James Gray is all set to helm a new Boston-set crime drama titled White Devil. Set up at Warner Bros., the project has been made a priority and will be based “loosely” on the life of John Willis aka White Devil Jon.
For those who don’t know, John Willis was a white kid who was adopted into a Chinese family and found himself involved with Boston’s Asian crime gangs. He was actually arrested earlier this year for money laundering, drugs and a couple other charges.
Apparently, the film is going to be “big scale” and is set to get rolling very shortly. That being said, there is no script written yet and we haven’t heard anything on the casting front either, so Warner Bros. will really need to get moving if they want to put this one out in the near future.

That we dig director James Gray is hardly a secret, but we're glad to say that more and more are joining our cause over time. His latest, "The Immigrant," divided critics as much as ever in Cannes this year (we liked it a lot), but we're noticing more and more critical reappraisals for his earlier work, films like "The Yards," "We Own The Night" and "Two Lovers." And he seems to be getting more fans within the industry too; he's been flirting with studio projects like "The Lost City Of Z" and "The Gray Man" (both set to star Brad Pitt, both of which haven't yet happened), he's directing TV pilot "The Red Road" for the Sundance Channel, and now, he's lined up a new project at Warner Bros. According to Deadline, Gray will write and direct the Boston-set crime drama "White Devil" for the studio, who are making it a priority project.

Director James Gray has a lot of experience writing and directing crime-thrillers with The Yards , We Own the Night and Little Odessa all having their share of fans among movie enthusiasts. Now word comes from Deadline that Gray also has fans at Warner Bros. who have tapped the filmmaker to write and direct a contemporary drama called White Devil , set in the real world of the Chinese Mafia in Boston and a white kid adopted by a Chinese family into that world. The movie is based on the real case of Dorchester, Mass. resident John Willis , also known as "White Devil John," who was allegedly a ringleader and enforcer within the area's Asian organized crime who was jailed earlier this year for drug-trafficking. She's been a Bond girl, thrown the first pitch in Naked Gun and helped inspire Helen Mirren to an Oscar, but we suspect none of those things unpinned BAFTA's decision to garland Queen Elizabeth with an honorary gong at a ceremony last night. Instead, the esteemed film body recognised the Queen's long-standing support for filmmaking in the UK."I am delighted that this evening has given us the opportunity to give something back," BAFTA chairman John Willis explained at the Windsor Castle reception. "I have the great honour to announce that we are to present Her Majesty with an honorary BAFTA today, in recognition of her outstanding patronage of the film and television industries."Willis went on to describe Hrh as "the most memorable Bond girl yet", a reference to her (kinda) parachuting cameo in Danny Boyle's Olympics opening ceremony. We bet he'd say the same thing to Honor Blackman.
