This is not a time to hold on to ego. Rather this is the time when we should all come together to fight a bigger threat that looms large in the form of coronavirus, feels veteran Bollwood actor Rishi Kapoor. The actor took to social media to express his concern for the citizens of Pakistan.
"With all due respect, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan should also advice his country to take adequate precautions. People of Pakistan are also dear to us. Once we were one. We are concerned too. This is a global crisis. No ego matter this. We love you guys. Humanity zindabad!" Kapoor tweeted.

The Randeep Hooda starrer ‘Sarbjit’, is based on a real life story and also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Richa Chaddha. The film has been directed by Omung Kumar who’s last successful film was ‘Mary Kom’. The music of ‘Sarbjit’, has been composed by a mixture of composers (surprise, surprise!) namely Amaal Malik, Jeet Ganguli and also features a host of new composers such as Shail-Pritesh, Tanishk Bagchi and Shashi-Shivamm.
The film features a very sensitive storyline which also has a lot of pain surrounding it, and this has been well reflected in all of the songs in the album. Despite the album having wide range of composers, all of the songs do carry the same ‘sound’.
Salamat – sung by Arijit Singh & Tulsi Kumar. Music by Amaal Malik. Lyrics by Rashmi Virag

Tevar is the fourth remake of 2003 Telugu blockbuster Okkadu originally starring Mahesh Babu, Bhumika Chawla and Prakash Raj. Arjun Kapoor (2 States), Sonakshi Sinah (Lootera) and Manoj Bajpai (Rajneeti) take on the respective pivotal roles for the Hindi remake under the banner of Sanjay Kapoor Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
It features music by Sajid-Wajid (Wanted, Dabangg) and lyrics by Kausar Munir with the vocal talents of Shafqat Amanat Ali (‘Manchala’ – Hasse Toh Phasse), Shruti Hasan (‘Alvida’ – D-Day), Ritu Pathak (‘Jalebi Bai’ – Double Dhamaal) amongst others.
Superman introduces our larger than life protagonist with much fan fare that is not far from typical. It is a decent enough number but suffers from two drawbacks. Kausar Munir’s lyrics are rife with the right amount youthful arrogance but the line, ‘jo leve panga, kar doon maa behn’, is arguably in bad taste if not down right disrespectful to women. Film: "Murder 3"; Music Directors: Pritam Chakraborty and Mustafa Zahid; Lyricist: Sayeed Quadri; Singers: Shafqat Amanat Ali, Kk, Mustafa Zahid, and Nikhil D'Souza; Rating- **** - Minimum tracks get maximum effect.

Looking back at 2012 song-ically, it certainly was a year of cool sounds, new voices, groovy and groovin’ beats and over all some killer tracks. Many of the songs brought a new vibe to the music of the movies, songs flavored with new influences, and songs that we never would have thought we would hear in a Bollywood flick. There were classic beats that got us up and dancing not to mention the grooves of today that got us to move to the music. We met some new singers we can’t wait to hear more of and some of our favorites blew us away with outstanding vocals. 2012 was full of surprises and we enjoyed so many of them, 50 in fact and every single note! As always we loved these songs when they first came out but once we saw them in the movie we loved them even more! Check out...

Mumbai, July 4: Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali, the magical voice behind chart busters "Mitwa", "Tere naina", and "Yeh Honsla" disagrees with the notion that songs nowadays don't have a shelf life.
"We still remember Lataji's (Lata Mangeshkar) and Kishore-da's (Kishore Kumar) songs because our parents had told us about them. Now it is our responsibility to pass today's songs to the future generations. I am sure these songs will also be remembered in the future just like old songs have been," Ali told Ians.
The 47-year-old, who is popular in the Bollywood, has sung for a host of Hindi movies - "Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna", "Dor", "Tum Mile", "My Name is Khan", "Jannat 2" to name a few.
He praises Bollywood music,.

It seems every time a film is due out from the Bhatt camp – especially one starring Emraan Hashmi (is there any other kind?) – the anticipation for the soundtrack goes through the roof. The pressure, every time, seems to grow exponentially, because if there’s one thing the Bhatt camp seems to have a lock on, it’s getting the best out of their longtime collaborator, Pritam.
And the pressure is at an all-time peak this time round, because Pritam’s soundtrack for Jannat is still regarded as one of the best of his career to date. Jannat 2 has a lot to live up to. A Pritam soundtrack for the Bhatt camp – it’s going to be good, that’s a given. But can it be great?

Salim and Sulaiman are back after their lacklustre effort with Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl and leaving some wondering whether they had lost their edge. From the initial promos of Jodi Breakers we may have been a tad underwhelmed by the story but the tune Kunwara definitely captured the audience’s attention. The film does have strong factors going for it with the unusual jodi of Bipasha Basu and Madhavan and the music by the Merchant brothers looking for that album to prove their detractors wrong. Salim and Sulaiman work well with the rustic and desi sound they are known for and mixing it with a jazzy and breezy sound; but when they are pushed into Pritam-slickness mode the results are rather iffy. Jodi Breakers is a very interesting album, that gives us our usual Salim Sulaiman sound but the slower songs are not their strength here.

Since we first heard about the new film Jodi Breakers starring Madhavan and Bipasha Basu we have been eagerly awaiting getting our first look at the film! We loved the trailer and the first song, and now we are being treated to even more because they have released the video for the gorgeous ballad ‘Darmiyaan’. Not only do we love it but we hear the stars have loved it since they first heard the track.
Madhavan tweeted, “A few mnths ago I had told you folks abt an outstanding song which’ll stay with you for the longest time.Well wait over. ‘Darmiyaan’ is here. ‘Darmiyaan’ has become one of my all time fav ever. Lemme know what you think people.

2011 was a great year for music in the Hindi film industry with an eclectic mix of styles, moods, vibes, beats, fresh new sounds and cool grooves. The songs ranged from romantic ballads, to full on rock, to the playful, the funny, the traditional, the internationally flavored ones and everything in-between and even some with the track tinged with a little bit of each. So many of the soundtracks this year were so good that it was not just one song that was killer good, it was most of them. Because so many albums this year were such a good collection of brilliant songs, think Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Delhi Belly, Rockstar and more, we had a tough time limiting ourselves to 25 Best Songs of the year, so we thought why try and decided to go with 50! We now present the 50 best songs of 2011!

Playback singers are the unsung heroes of Indian Cinema (no pun intended). This year, for the very first time, Bollyspice would like to congratulate the following 10 male playback singers for their outstanding work in Indian Cinema in 2011.
10. Mika Singh
No one does a mass entertainer quite like Mika Singh and 2011 was no different with crowd-pleasing hits like like ‘Desi Beats’ (Bodyguard), ‘Dhinka Chika’ (Ready), ‘Saj Dhaj Ke’ (Mausam), ‘Pyaar Do’ (Thank You), ‘F.A.L.T.U’ and ‘Hero’ (Desi Boyz).
9. Shankar Mahadevan
Shankar Mahadevan began the year with a brilliant desi/urban mesh-up, ‘Rola Pe Gaya’ (Patiala House) and followed through with thought provoking ‘Der Lagi’ (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) and ‘Roshni’ (Aarakshan). However, it was the obscure ‘Chand Pal Ke Humsafar’ (Mod) that was the most impressive.

Shah Rukh Khan`s "Ra.One" has been generating curiosity since beginning and expectations have been high from its music as well. The album of the film lives up to the expectations, thanks to composers Vishal-Shekhar for packing a musical punch for the sci-fi movie. The film offers 14 tracks, including remix versions and theme tracks. It starts on a rocking note with the already popular number "Chammak Challo". A clear winner all the way, the song, which has Hindi, English and Tamil words in the lyrics, makes you groove. An interesting thing about the track is that it`s crooned by international artist Akoon, who has voiced not just the English lyrics but Hindi ones too. Hamika Iyer supports him by singing Tamil words. A fun dance number, "Chammak Challo" is here to stay and it will surely become DJs` favourite. The song also has a few other versions, including a remix by Abhijit Vaghani,...

The music for the upcoming Always Kabhi Kabhi has quite the mix of music and one that really shows the range of the soundtrack is the song 'Jaane Kyun'. This effortless, soaring melody appears in two versions, one called the soul version and the other called the sufi version. While Naresh Iyer sings the soul version, Shafqat Amanat Ali brings in his experience and trademark sound for the sufi version. The essence of both versions is that 'Jaane Kyun ' sums up on a mellow and poignant note than the rest of the songs.
Always Kabhi Kabhi directed by Abbas Roshan and starring a bevy of newcomers including Zoa Morani, Giselli Monteiro, Ali Fazal, and Satyajeet Dubey, hits theaters on June 17th!
