Cameron may have made it out of Monday’s Stitchers season finale relatively unscathed, but if the Freeform drama returns for a fourth season, he’s in for a world of pain.

One of the reasons I love James Cameron is because he is so absurdly ambitious, and more often than not, when he aims high, he actually hits the target. From The Abyss through Avatar, every time Cameron made a film, it would be accompanied by tons of press about how much money he was spending and how crazy he was and what a giant failure each film would be. It’s become a fairly familiar pattern. How many times in a row does someone have to do something before people stop predicting failure? At least three times, he’s made the most expensive movie of all time and the film has become a massive hit anyway. Forget about the business side of things, though. What I love about James Cameron is his single-mindedness. When he believes in something, he attacks it with everything he has. I remember the two years...

The thriller Raise The Titanic was a $40m flop in 1980, its model Titanic alone costing millions. Ryan charts the replica's sad history...
By autumn 1977, author Clive Cussler was the toast of the publishing world. Following a decade of writing and two moderately successful novels, his third book, Raise The Titanic! was a runaway bestseller. Its popularity was a contrast to Cussler's earlier books, which had earned him a relatively meagre $5,000. But those earlier adventures - The Mediterranean Caper and Iceberg - helped establish the daring hero Dirk Pitt, a practical, earthy hero designed as a counterpoint to the suave, refined James Bond.
For Raise The Titanic!, Cussler dreamed up a scenario in which Pitt headed up a multi-billion-dollar operation to find and recover the doomed luxury liner, which sank in 1912. Their goal: to recover a mysterious, incredibly rare substance called byzantium from the ship's belly - a...

Have you been waiting patiently for more Avatar movies since the first one came out in 2009? Well, you will have your fill in the coming years as James Cameron looks to possibly add more adventures to the predicted slate of films.
Hey U Guys caught up with the composer of the films, James Horner, who revealed that Cameron may have plans for another film on top of the four that he initially announced. As of now, the sequel to Avatar is set to open in theaters in 2017.
“He’s got four sequels script-wise, and he’s trying to make it into three,” Horner said. “And I think that’s where the effort is going right now […] how do you keep it from expanding into a fifth movie?”
It is funny to think that more of these movies are on the way and have taken so long to get off the ground.

It was recently announced that the next three Avatar sequels will be shot in New Zealand, and James Cameron will spend around $500 million dollars to make them. In a recent interview with The Associated Press, Cameron discussed a few details from the film such as where it will take place, the underwater element, and the story, which he compares to The Godfather trilogy. As far as where the story is set, he explains,
"It's going to be a lot of new imagery and a lot of new environments and creatures across Pandora. We're blowing it out all over the place. At first I thought I was going to take it onto other worlds as well, in the same solar system, but it turned out not to be necessary. Cameron Diaz got to work on the set of her film The Other Woman with costars Leslie Mann and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau today in NYC. Cameron, who sported a sexy red dress, hopped into a sports car to share a passionate kiss with Nikolaj during the day of filming. Today was a busy day of work for Cameron, who wore a different ensemble for scenes with Leslie and another big costar, a large spotted dog, on set as well. Along with their canine pal, it was recently announced that Nicki Minaj was added to the cast, which also includes model Kate Upton. Cameron showed a little more skin for today's session in front of the cameras after she bundled up against the Big Apple rain for filming last week. Cameron may be getting even more glamorous tonight if she attends the Met Gala like she did last year, when she walked...

Cameron Diaz attended the fifth annual Greenhouse Project Benefit at The Standard Hotel in NYC yesterday. She went casual to attend the bash, which raises money for NY Sun Works, an organization that creates science labs in urban schools. Cameron's charitable party came just a few days after she reportedly hung out with Reese Witherspoon and Chelsea Handler following Reese's arrest in Atlanta over the weekend. Cameron, Reese, and Chelsea met up at the Greenwich Hotel following Reese's premiere of Mud on Sunday. According to a source, the meeting, which also included Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow, was "pretty tame" and everyone seemed in good spirits. Cameron may be enjoying her downtime with friends as she gears up for a potentially busy year. She is in talks to reunite with her Bad Teacher costar Jason Segel in Sex Tape. She'll also meet up with Leslie again when she begins work...

Shortland Street (New Zealand)
This is proof that I can’t be everywhere. I had no idea that New Zealand nighttime soap Shortland Street had a gay couple on the show. I’m not sure on all the details of the storyline, but it seems that Seth came on as part of a hostile hopital takeover. There’s been lots of drama and political maneuvering because of it. Seth's business competitor Sarah knows that he’s gay, and it looks like she's about to out him.
The biggest question I have is: what year is this? I mean, it’s 2013. It’s seems so dated to have Seth staying in the closet and hiding his boyfriend to protect his career. I realize that this does still happen, but Seth is not a professional athlete, a big film star, a politician or anything high-profile like that, so...

It wasn’t so long ago that James “Jc” Cameron made it known that his intent was to devote the rest of his filmmaking career to making movies that were only named Avatar. I groaned & whined like a kid who has to eat all his vegetables before getting ice cream. Shortly after, a rumor floated around that Cameron may direct Battle Angel after Avatar, suggesting that Jc was having second thoughts about his Avatar promise. Well now it looks like Cameron is fully backing away and will take on The Informationist after Avatar 2 & 3.

Just last month, James Cameron revealed that by the time he's done, there will probably be a total of four "Avatar" movies. The director already said that he plans to shoot the next two installments back-to-back, but according to Sigourney Weaver, Cameron may shoot all three of them together. Showbiz411 caught up with the actress, who said that she's currently shooting "Political Animals," then will go right into a new Christopher Durang play for a short run at Lincoln Center, before finally meeting up with Cameron to shoot "Avatar 2," "Avatar 3" and "Avatar 4." Weaver said she has no idea how long the filming will take, but the plan has always been to release the second and third films in December of 2014 and December of 2015. It's very possible that the fourth and final movie will then follow in December of 2016.

British Prime Minister David Cameron may be head-over-heels in love with his stylish wife, Samantha. But like every teen guy, he used to fancy another woman.
Much to our delight, the Pm got candid with Carol Vorderman for a recent interview with Tesco Magazine:
Carol: So make us laugh, who was your first celebrity crush?
David: I’m afraid, like everyone else, I think I had that poster of Cheryl Tiegs on my wall.
That white mesh bare-all poster or the shiny pink bikini poster? Either way: amazing. Plus, Cameron's in luck -- seems like Tiegs finally feels the same! Upon hearing the prime minister's revelation, Tiegs told the The Daily Telegraph, "Oh my God! I have a crush on him.”
The former Sports Illustrated cover girl added, "I think he's so smart and attractive. I do love a good British accent. It sort of melts my heart. This has caught me by surprise.

I almost had the thrill of my professional life to date a few months back when it looked like I was going to interview Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron about a Titanic special he had coming up on National Geographic Channel. I had to stay close to my phone, as I was told Cameron may call within a certain time frame during a given day, since his availability was limited due to the fact that he was “on the other side of the world.” No more than that cryptic info was given. Cameron never called, but given what we have since [...]...

When the original Alien came out in 1979 its tagline was the effective and instantly memorable "In Space No One Can Hear Your Scream". When Aliens was released on July 18, 1986, its tagline was "This Time It's War".
But as far apart in evoking a feeling as each film's tagline was, James Cameron cemented his weight as a visual storyteller by creating the world's best action sequel.
Fans of the Alien series try to segregate themselves by asking which movie they prefer, Ridley Scott's Alien or Cameron's militaristic sequel. I say it's like a parent trying to identify which child of theirs they love the most; simply put, you can't do it because each has their own unique qualities that endear themselves to you. The same holds true for Alien and Aliens; the latter may follow the other and use the same characters and creatures but they're two different kinds of...

Cameron Diaz held her iPad and chatted with director Michael Hoffman in London earlier today. She's in the UK prepping to start filming the Coen brothers-penned Gambit. It's the Coens' follow-up to True Grit, and the movie also stars best actor Oscar winner Colin Firth. Another lucky guy who often shares the spotlight with Cameron is her all-star boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez. She's been spending lots of time on the road and at home in NYC cheering on both ARod and his team, the Yankees. Cameron may miss a few games while she's abroad, but she'll be back home in the upcoming weeks to promote Bad Teacher before it hits theaters in June. Avatar 2 and 3 will be shot back-to-back and will make use of the Mbs's enormous production stages (the article suggests that Cameron may be renting as much as a sixth of the lot's 580,000 feet of soundstages and office space), likely combining his offices and soundstages into one, singular unit. Marvel Studios also has productions based out of Mbs and most recently used soundstages there to film the Asgardian portions of their upcoming...

Cameron and A-Rod have been together less than a year. Is it too soon for them to be going on family vacations together?

Cameron, you better be careful! An expert warns that you could be scaring A-Rod off!
Oh no! Cameron Diaz, 38, needs to take a major chill pill if she wants to stay in a relationship with her man Alex Rodriguez, 35! She’s doing exactly what she did before with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake … getting way too aggressive and that’s just not good. “If she wants to keep him around, she needs to stop being so aggressive,” body language expert Dr. Lillian Glass tells HollywoodLife.com.
Dr. Glass goes on to say Cameron needs to, “let him be the man and wear the pants. He’s intimidated by her because she’s too much, so I don’t think they’re really a good match.”
“A-Rod may think he likes strong women, but he’s initimidated by them,” Dr. Glass explains. “His body language shows it. His hand is over his private parts.

Avatar isn’t quite the same when it’s not playing on a gigantic screen and in 3D. James Cameron certainly has made another impressive epic full of pure moments of awe, but it’s not as spellbinding at home. This is an incredible looking piece of eye candy with not a whole lot of new or original flavors. A fantastic theatrical experience is now simply a solid adventure film.
This 16-minute longer extended cut is a step down. This version is bloated and nearly every addition feels unnecessary. A few moments, especially involving Grace (Sigourney Weaver) add a bit more character, but all the character touches to begin with were clunky and nothing but dry spots. Cameron has never been the best with making subtle character traits or crafting meaty arcs, so far too much of that flaw can become tedious. The only additional scenes that are interesting, while also completely unneeded,...

Finally, one of the box-sets we’ve all been waiting for! The Alien franchise is one of those series that’s perfect for Blu-Ray. It is a benchmark for the format and you can check out our full review of The Alien Anthology below.
Alien:
How much can one say about the timeless classic sci-fi horror film that hasn’t been said before? Well, very little. This is still Ridley Scott‘s finest film to date and it hasn’t aged a bit. Every beat of tension still lands with a punch, the alien is still one of the best ever to be put on-screen, and it’s atmosphere stays eerie and unsettling throughout.
Alien is the king of the monster movies. Very few horror films can achieve the level of investment Scott and co. did with making you actually care for the ensemble, even outside of Ripley. What...

The United Kindom has decided to increase its foreign aid budget, despite widespread opposition. The government announced that an additional £3.7 billion are to be dispersed, bringing the total aid from £7.8 billion to £11.5 billion in 2015.
Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell said the decision was based on a "moral duty" to support the world's disadvantaged. But his critics say that such charity should be directed toward domestic concerns, such as the national budget deficit.
"Aid saves lives, but it's also in our national interest. Conflict, violent extremism, unchecked migration, drug trafficking--all can be addressed upstream by aid," Mitchell told The Sun.
While that view is hotly contested, especially by aid critics like Bill Easterly and Dambisa Moyo, many governments feel that foreign aid is a critical protection against terrorism.

James Cameron has issued a major snob attack against Piranha 3D - only to have his ass handed to him by Piranha 3D producer Mark Canton.
Cameron, who has apparently ascended himself to Godhood since his insipid cartoon ripoff of FernGully: The Last Rainforest and Dances with Wolves broke a billion dollars, has raised his nose high, pointed at the lowly peasant film Piranha 3D, and deemed it unworthy of the elite nobility that is 3D theater.
"I tend almost never to throw other films under the bus," said Cameron, while sipping a cup of Earl Grey and delicately curling his pinky, "but [that vile little fishy film with those awful boobs in it] is exactly an example of what we should not be doing in 3D because it just cheapens the medium and reminds you of the bad 3D horror films from the '70s and '80s, like Friday The 13th 3D. James Cameron changed the modern movie landscape with his 3-D Avatar, officially the highest-grossing movie of all time. The success of Avatar led studios to evaluate their movie slates, looking for titles ripe for a 3-D conversion. In addition, other movies began production in 3-D. Now it seems the format will continue to dominate for the next few years, if not longer. While Cameron may be indirectly blamed for the 3-D craze that movies are undergoing, he doesn't have to like it. Cameron told Vanity Fair that the 3-D boom was "not his fault."

People were doing high fives around Hollywood today when this weekend's box-office results revealed James Cameron's Avatar: Special Edition "only" brought in $4 million on 812 screens. According to Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood, "one rival studio exec tells me, 'No tears shed' for this pittance considering the original Avatar holds the biggest worldwide box office record of $2.7B. Fox, move on..."
This "pittance" is $300 thousand more than industry fave The Kids are All Right did when it went wide on slightly more screens (847) last month. No one trashed that film for opening soft nor were there huzzahs going around on industry web sites about it's less than stellar total. For anyone else it would be an amazing feat to add another $4 million to the highest grossing film of all time at the end of a long run. Not for Cameron.

According to recent interview, James Cameron confirms that he gave Guillermo del Toro (then still directing The Hobbit films) advice to back out of the films.
I know what many fans are going to do with this news: blame everything on James Cameron. Many nerds will label him in the wrong light and take all of this totally the wrong way. Don't worry, I did it too at first, but after some thought, and reading exactly what he said he's not an evil man.
Whether you hate him or love him, or fall somewhere in between, James Cameron is a brilliant filmmaker and has helped to shape the industry today. So when James Cameron gives you advice, it carries some weight, and his experience is nothing to laugh about. When people think of Roger Corman, they think of two things: camp filled films with copious amounts of blood and skin, and Death Race 2000. However, hoping to help change that is the genius collective known as Shout! Factory.
Releasing a collection of films under the banner of Roger Corman’s Cult Classics, then company has added to their ever growing catalogue of Roger Corman produced projects, which currently includes the aforementioned Death Race 2000 among others, with two new releases of classic projects, Galaxy of Terror, and Forbidden World.
Both are solid winners here, but the true king of the pair here is Galaxy Of Terror.
The film follows the crew of a rescue ship, who while on a mission, come into contact with a group of monsters. However, these aren’t just your run of the mill beasts. These monsters are bread from th very subconscious of each member of the crew,...

Hollywoodnews.comThe Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz film, “Knight and Day,” enters its second weekend at the box office with trouble.
That’s T for Tom trouble. “Knight and Day” has fallen now to fifth place at the box office after 8 days in release. On Wednesday night it dropped past “The Karate Kid,” which been in release longer than “K&D.”
The box office take is now about $33.5 million.
The only good news for “K&D” is that this weekend, only two new films open: “Love Ranch.” which is in limited release, and “The Last Airbender,” which has some of the worst reviews ever. So Cruise and Cameron may be holding steady at number 5 through the holiday.
But it’s likely this will be the last week in the top 10 for “Knight and Day.” Next Friday comes “Despicable Me” and “Predators.”

A successful business woman, the cover girl of fashion glossy Harper’s Bazaar, she sports a dolphin tattoo on her ankle. Now Samantha Cameron, nicknamed Sam by the tabloids, is close to becoming UK’s new first lady. With British voters delivering a hung verdict last week, chances are that Samantha’s husband, David Cameron may become UK’s next Prime Minister. Married to Cameron for 12 years, Samantha is the creative director of Smythson, a firm that produces luxury fashion products including notebooks for the Queen. “Samantha has a strong sense of style,” says Peter Buoy, a British ...

Avatar has seen Hollywood re-embrace the format, but it's all about gimmickry, not creative film-making
Like it or loathe it, 3D is everywhere, the 21st century equivalent of the snood. Last week, Sky launched its new 3D channel by screening Chelsea's victory at Old Trafford in a "revolutionary" format designed to bring the excitement of the Premier League right into your local. All the major electronics companies are bombarding us with promos for 3D TVs which, we are assured, are the next generation in home entertainment, making boring old HD TVs "so 2009".
Meanwhile, cinema distributors have become so addicted to the profit potential of 3D movies (thanks to the box office bonanza of Avatar) that even films shot in 2D (Alice in Wonderland, Clash of the Titans) are being hastily re-versioned into 3D to cash in on the latest craze.

Hadley Freeman sees the stars strike a serene pose on Academy Awards red carpet – while the reporters lose the plot
"I'm loving the colour! I'm loving life! Let's talk beauty!" Those of an innocent nature might assume this to be the final line of a pre-Raphaelite poem, or the chorus of a 1960s folk song. Those of a more seasoned bent will identify this as your average exhortation from a TV presenter on the Oscars red carpet.
What had just happened? I think someone had spotted that Maggie Gyllenhaal was wearing a blue dress. Hey, I'm loving life! It was a funny old Oscars night. If the nominees seemed like an awkward balance between the small (The Hurt Locker, An Education, A Single Man) and the bloated (Avatar, Avatar, Avatar), then the red carpet was an enjoyable imbalance between the hysterical presenters and the decidedly blase celebrities.

With the first Avatar, Cameron has left himself plenty of latitude for where he can take us on the second Pandoran adventure. Money won't be an object and neither will be running time so all that's really undetermined is what James Cameron wants to do in movie #2. While I'm certain that Mr. Cameron doesn't have any problem coming up with his own ideas for Avatar 2, these seven ideas I had for what we might see in the sequel are merely meant for the rest of us to speculate and wonder about. (That said, if you see something in here that you like, give me a phone call and I'll work something out with you Jim. It's all about making the best milkshake, right?)

It was, in many ways, inevitable. Avatar, James Cameron's magnum opus, after raking in $1.292 billion worldwide as of Tuesday, has broken the box office record previously set by his other mega-super hit, Titanic. God only knows what this will do to Cameron's already-bloated ego. Interestingly, we didn't actually do a lot of pre-release coverage here -- a movie poster here, a bit of trailer there -- whether that was due to our legitimate lack of interest, or because we're such obscene anti-establishment hipster elitists (as many of you are likely to proclaim), doesn't really matter. Avatar was an unstoppable force, a juggernaut destined to bludgeon its way to the top of the heap. Truth be told, Cameron didn't even need half the budget he used to blow up the box office. Sure, he likely wouldn't have broken the record, but he still would have stampeded up the charts anyway.

Well, the 2010 Golden Globes are history and although I couldn't bring myself to sit through the three hour back-slapping fest, I did listen in from the other room while I worked on my computer. Occasionally, I'd force myself in front of the TV just to catch a glimpse of what someone looked like. I discovered that Sophia Loren, Paul McCartney, Harrison Ford and Pierce Brosnan appear to be aging very well indeed, but I couldn't be enticed to stick around for much more. The acceptance speeches were the usual cringe-inducing embarrassments, proving that many actors can barely manage to improvise "hello" without a script in front of them. There were several of the standard "I didn't think I'd win, so I didn't prepare a speech!" yarns that must have seemed stale and insincere when Mary Pickford was still box-office queen. Ricky Gervais was fairly amusing as host,...

The 2010 Golden Globe Awards will be announced tonight, celebrating the year's best in entertainment. Everything from movies to television will be covered and all the stars are expected to attend. This award show is considered one of the big two. The other being the Oscars. Some of the other popular award shows, People Choice and Critics' Choice, have made their selections. Will they match up with the people behind the Globes?

Nominees: Cinema Italiano (Nine), I See You (Avatar), I Want To Come Home (Everybody's Fine), The Weary Kind (Crazy Heart), Winter (Brothers)
The Crazy Heart theme has been winning this category at other award shows. Even the 20+ critic associations around the country had this at the top of their list. Cinema Italiano has a shot of taking this though,...

According to legend, James Cameron was a truck driver when the first Star Wars movie broke-out as a huge success and turned the slightly older, slightly craftier, and slightly more imaginative George Lucas into the cinematic empire-builder of our age. Since then, clearly, Cameron has become a Lucas acolyte and wannabe, cobbling together pilfered elements, very much in the manner of his master, to produce "original" works of fantastic cinema. But the thing is, Lucas (and his team) put a considerable amount of more imagination -- and, for a while, heart -- into the process; mixing flat-out Flash Gordon copycatting with New Age goo proved revolutionary indeed, and continues to astound the youngsters. With the release of Avatar, I am forced to discount any creative prowess Cameron may have possessed -- and, in fact, to reconsider his career mostly in the...

"Avatar" director James Cameron has had enough. He wants nothing more to do with blue people. He was even reportedly heard saying the following: "I'm seeing blue people everywhere including my f--king dreams. I feel like Picasso exiting his blue period and exploring other colours. Jeez, if I see another f--king blue person I'm going to punch the key grip's lights out."
Cameron may be tired of blue people, a reference to the alien Na'vi that factor heavily into the plot of "Avatar," but we are most definitely not. Most of the MTV Newsroom has seen the movie now, and multiple times. But it's still in theaters, and many of us need our blue person fix more frequently than can reasonably be achieved, what with the pressures of work, staying fed and getting enough sleep. So we've turned to other sources for blue people, from TV and film alike, to...

Avatar continues to break all sorts of records. It enjoyed the highest-grossing fourth weekend ever, leaving its next nearest competitor in the dust. That competitor? James Cameron’s Titanic, which earned $28.7 million over its fourth weekend. The Dark Knight was down to a little over $26 million by its fourth weekend... but Avatar couldn’t beat Knight in the race to $400 million (23 days for Avatar versus 18 for Knight). All-time worldwide grosses? Cameron may well be about to kick his own ass: Avatar is up to No. 2, at $1.3 billion, with Titanic’s $1.8 billion certainly well within reach, particularly if it continues to perform as well as it has (it earned more than $150 million outside North America last weekend). And there’s no reason to expect that it won’t.

It’s easy to go on about how much money Avatar is making at the box office. However, a more interesting result of the film’s success is the possibility that it proved 3-D can be far more than just a gimmick. Instead of having objects fly out at the audience James Cameron used the technology to pull viewers into the environment. It was such a simple twist on 3-D I’m surprised nobody thought of it before now.
However, with Avatar’s explosion in popularity, and everyone it seems hoping on the 3-D bandwagon, Cameron may have unintentionally become the “3-D guy”. Any projects he takes on moving forward people are going to anticipate some kind of 3D component, which may not necessarily be the case.
As such, I (along with everyone else writing about this story) have to assume that Cameron could have 3-D plans in mind for...

With Avatar still going great guns at the global box office, Cameron's envisioned trilogy is becoming a surer thing everyday
As Avatar's barnstorming success at the global box office – where it recently became the fastest film of all time to reach the $1bn (£627m) mark – continues with little sign of letting up, it seems remarkable that as recently as a few weeks ago some critics were claiming the project was set to flop.
How they must be wiping the egg from their faces now. Watching the film for the third time at the weekend, it struck me that James Cameron's movie already has that classic Hollywood blockbuster feel – remarkable for a feature that's so reliant on technology and, as Peter Bradshaw pointed out, a freakishly bizarre storyline.

I'd like to get your feedback about this video, in which James Cameron lets fly a few choice words for an autograph seeker at Lax. It's not an uninterrupted video, so I can't say exactly what prompts it, but there's no question Cameron may have crossed a line.
In his defense, celebrities are under no obligation to be "on" when they're at the airport or in a grocery store, and as the video goes on, the fan (if he's not a full-on plant) gets way too beligerent. Even if you feel sorry for him at the beginning, by the end of the altercation you just want him to go away. Why Cameron continued to acknowledge him is beyond me.
To be sure, Cameron has what we would call "a reputation," although the one time I interviewed him for Ghosts of the Abyss, I found him to be extremely engaging and even self-deprecating.

This past week, James Cameron has been attending premieres and doing press like crazy for his little independent movie called "Avatar" or something like that. Not sure what it's about. I've never even seen a trailer.Anyway, Jim Dorey conducted an audio interview with Mr. Cameron over on his blog, which is dedicated to all things 3-D. Cameron had a lot to say on the technical specifics of "Avatar," but here's some interesting info he revealed about upcoming projects: 15:10 Cameron avoids discussing whether Avatar 2 and 3 takes place on or off Pandora. 15:40 Sam Worthington is signed up for sequels "by his excitement; he wants to do another one". Zoe Saldana wants to do another one too. Cameron realizes option deals are subject to many conditions.16:20 On Battle Angel: "I am not even sure that I am going to do that film". And he has no one in mind for casting.
