Although collecting physical media doesn’t have the convenience appeal of streaming films, there is now sort of a stigma with purchasing movies through online platforms. Although its possible to compile a collection of movies through an online library, consumers will ultimately be at the whim of the service should it choose to keep the title available on their server. Additionally, there are a number of titles that don’t happen to find their way to have streaming access and physical media distributors like Shout and Vinegar Syndrome have dedicated their business to some overlooked titles.

This already sounds like a great combination. Just stop for a second and try to imagine Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton in a movie titled And So It Goes.
An interesting title for a comedy which comes from director P.J. Hogan who usually deals with weddings in his projects (My Best Friend’s Wedding or Muriel’s Wedding for example), you’ll admit!
The movie comes from writer Mark Andrus and will center on Douglas as a self-centered and eccentric realtor who couldn’t care less about anyone else. But when his estranged son suddenly drops off a granddaughter he never knew, his life is turned upside down.

Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton are attached to star in And So It Goes…, a comedy scripted by As Good As It Gets writer Mark Andrus and directed by Pj Hogan. Production is slated for spring, and Foresight Unlimited is financing and producing. The company will shop to foreign buyers at Afm. Alan Greisman, Rob Reiner, and Mark Damon are the producers. Douglas plays a self-absorbed and eccentric realtor whose life is turned upside down when his estranged son abruptly drops off a granddaughter the realtor never knew. With the help of his determined and loveable neighbor (Keaton), the realtor is pulled out of his selfish life and into a new one. “There’s a large demographic and need for these kind of films as evidenced by box office successes such as The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, It’s Complicated and Bucket List,” Greisman said.

Since recently putting his name to such feel-good schmaltz as “Flipped” and “The Bucket List,” it appears director Rob Reiner now craves a return to the darker films of his early career (“Ghosts of Mississippi,” “Misery”). He's just signed on to co-star as Leonardo DiCaprio's dad in Martin Scorsese's “Wolf of Wall Street,” making his first on-screen appearance since 2003's “Alex & Emma,” and has now announced he will direct a psychological thriller in the vein of “Cape Fear.”
THR reports Reiner is set to shoot “You Belong to Me,” which was written by David Murray, and follows a psychiatrist who professionally transgresses by talking about himself with a patient, and then deals with the dangerous consequences of that decision. Reiner recently expressed an admiration for the thriller genre, and cleared up reasons why he's stayed away from them for his past few films. “They are hard to make well,...

Rob Reiner hasn't directed a horror film since 1990's Misery, but that's about to change with You Belong to Me, which he just signed onto. The film, said to fall in the psychological thriller category with comparisons being made to Cape Fear, was written by David Murray.
Richard Lewis and his Southpaw Entertainment banner will produce with Scott Steindorff of Stone Village, along with Alan Greisman. Steindorff's Scott Pictures fund will finance. Dylan Russell, Peter Fruchtman, and Scott Lastaiti are executive producing. Reiner's Castle Rock and Gabriel Jerou from Southpaw will co-produce.
The project centers on a psychiatrist who does the one thing you are never supposed to do with your patients: talk about yourself. Production is planned for the fall in New York, and casting will begin immediately for the four leads, which include the psychiatrist, his wife, their daughter, and the patient's brother.

In the news earlier this week as an actor, Rob Reiner is now lining up another project as a director. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Reiner will step behind the camera for You Belong to Me . What's more, the project marks Reiner's return to the horror genre after tackling the Stephen King adaptation Misery in 1990. The new film comes from screenwriter David Murray and is likened to Cape Fear in its tale of a psychiatrist who forms a potentially deadly connection with a patient. Richard Lewis, Alan Greisman and Scott Steindorff will produce with production being targeted for this fall in New York, likely just after Reiner completes work on Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street . Morris Abraham Cohen, regularly referred to as, Two-Gun Cohen, was a Jewish soldier and adventurer who became aide-de-camp to the Chinese leader Sun Yat-sen and a major-general in the Chinese army.
Cohen fought with the Canadian Railway Troops in Europe during World War I where part of his job involved supervising Chinese laborers. He also saw some fierce fighting at the Western Front, especially during the Third Battle of Ypres. After the war, he resettled in Canada. But the economy had declined and the days of the real estate boom were long over. Cohen looked for something new to do, and in 1922 he headed to China to help close a railway deal for Sun Yat-sen with Northern Construction and Jw Stewart Ltd. Once there, he asked Sun for a job as a bodyguard.

Doug Liman has signed on to direct a drama based on the life of Morris Abraham ‘Two Gun’ Cohen.
As you see, we’ll soon have a chance to watch another biopic, and this time, we’re talking about ‘Two-Gun’ Cohen, the English bodyguard of Chinese leader Sun Yat-sen in the 1920s.
“He’s a thief and a con man who goes to China with visions of self-aggrandizement,” said Liman, and continued: “but while he’s there he falls for the country and for a woman. The story falls off the shelf without having to twist the facts. It’s almost hard to believe it happened.”
In case you have no idea who we’re actually talking about, Morris Abraham ‘Two-Gun’ Cohen was born in London and moved to China after serving in World War I in 1922.

Hollywood's never-ending onslaught of remakes continues! January's remakes and sequels were a varied and surprising bunch, and the most recent crop is no different. This month sees a classic romantic comedy and horror movie get reinvented, while another European thriller gets Americanized and an ensemble comedy gets updated.
Hard to believe that The Bodyguard is almost twenty years old, which may be why Warner Bros. is looking to remake it. Deadline reports that screenwriters Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer will write the remake of the 1992 original, which saw Kevin Costner as an ex-Secret Service Agent who falls for the singer (Whitney Houston) he has been assigned to protect from a stalker. The remake won't stray too far, changing the Costner character to a Iraq War veteran and updating the movie to include cyber-stalking. According to the report, the plan is cast a young singer "with global appeal" in the Houston role.
