1. Fringe (2008–2013)
Episode: Power Hungry (2008)

TV-14 | 47 min | Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

An elevator crashes, killing a number of people, leading Olivia and the Bishops to a man who appears to unknowingly be able to manipulate electricity.

Director: Christopher Misiano | Stars: Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, Lance Reddick, Kirk Acevedo

Votes: 2,845

Season 1 - Episode 5: POWER HUNGRY (6/10)

I really liked the Pilot Episode of FRINGE but have felt the first few eps after that have been a bit meh. Plus at the moment the show feels a little too derivative of the 'freak of the week' structure which similarly plagued SMALLVILLE (from the handful of eps I've seen of that show anyhow).

Watched on Tues 4th Jan.

2. Fringe (2008–2013)
Episode: The Cure (2008)

TV-14 | 65 min | Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

A number of people in a diner die of radiation exposure and Olivia and the Bishops believe a woman who disappeared two weeks earlier was the source.

Director: Bill Eagles | Stars: Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, Lance Reddick, Kirk Acevedo

Votes: 2,743

Season 1 - Episode 6: THE CURE (7/10)

Slight upward turn with this episode feeling a little like HEROES due to the appearance of ordinary people having immense powers (Say what you like about how HEROES ended, the first 2 seasons are absolutely superb). I'm also beginning to enjoy John Noble's performance as the befuddled and brilliant Dr. Walter Bishop. Fingers crossed the show begins to click with me as aside from the Pilot and maybe the odd moment in a couple of other episodes so far, FRINGE feels very take it or leave it to me.

Watched on Weds 5th Jan.

3. Fringe (2008–2013)
Episode: In Which We Meet Mr. Jones (2008)

TV-14 | 60 min | Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

An FBI agent experiencing huge pain is brought to a hospital where it is discovered that there is a strange parasite wrapped around his heart.

Director: Brad Anderson | Stars: Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, Lance Reddick, Kirk Acevedo

Votes: 2,766

Season 1 - Episode 7: IN WHICH WE MEET MR. JONES (6/10)

Took me two consecutive evening sittings to get through this episode as I feel asleep the first time (been working hard so not surprising). Again the show just isn't sparking for me and the ridiculous SF stuff Dr. Bishop concocts is a little grating for me at times. But the episode did have some touches of narrative intrigue and I'll persist with the show for the time being.

Watched on Thurs 6th Jan.
