Having spent many years as a fan of Jackass, I’ve always gravitated to the career of Johnny Knoxville. The actor has a new feature currently available for streaming or purchase on Prime, and frankly, he’s excellent in it. Sweet Dreams tells the story of Morris, a man who has found himself at a sober living facility. The film, written and directed by Lije Sparks, is a sweet, funny, and heartfelt tale, one that is utterly inspiring. The sports aspect is fun, as the group put together a ragtag softball team to save their place, but it’s also a serious work. Also starring Kate Upton, Bobby Lee, Jay Mohr, and Gata, it’s an inspiring film with a huge heart.
I’ve always enjoyed chatting with Mr. Knoxville, and this was no exception. Both Johnny and Mr. Sarki opened up about bringing a bit of positivity to those struggling with addiction.

Actors Bobby Lee and GaTa reflected on their experience in the comedy-drama Sweet Dreams in their new uInterview.
Sweet Dreams follows an alcoholic as he coaches a misfit team of his fellow housemates while he stays at a sober living unit.
Lee spoke with uInterview founder Erik Meers about what drew him to the role. “The honest truth is I went into this movie because I’m sober, and it felt like doing a once-a-month AA retreat,” he said. “This movie is about service and love.”
GaTa reflected, “I think it was a great movie. I liked working with [Lee], I liked working with all the other cast members were very easy to work with I didn’t know what to expect, but I just know the most important thing about this movie was my connection to it, having a background I can relate to about addiction.”

Considering how many serious injuries the Jackass cast members have suffered over the years, one would think that even before Jackass Forever, they had reached the limit of their willingness to pull off dangerous stunts. Jackass Forever is the fourth movie in Jeff Tremaine’s reality comedy film series, which came after Jackass 3D (2010).
However, the filming process was interrupted by some of the ludicrous, and risky stunts that resulted in injuries to the main character of the franchise. Indeed, Johnny Knoxville earlier talked about the major bull stunt that caused him to suffer brain damage and has revealed whether or not he regrets being a part of such a risky act.

Also, note that the critics did give the film favorable reviews; in fact, a number of them thought it was the best in the series.

Johnny Knoxville always seems to display an aching vulnerability, and it’s not just because he’s voluntarily endured years of intense bodily suffering as a result of his Jackass movies. So he seems the perfect choice to play the central character in Lije Sarki’s raucous black comedy that plays like a Bad News Bears featuring recovering addicts rather than precocious children.
Knoxville plays Morris, whose sad state of affairs is made immediately apparent in the opening scene: He’s shown waking up nearly naked and bloody on a park bench, having clearly been on one hell of a bender the night before. Even worse, he had apparently left his eight-year-old daughter home alone, making him realize he’s a danger to others as well as himself.

It is very hard to believe but Jackie Chan has officially reached his 70s. The cinema legend recently celebrated his 70th Birthday on the 7th of April. On the occasion, he shared an emotional note for his friends and fans on social media where he discussed how it feels to be in the 70s. Following that, the Rush Hour fame also addressed his viral white hair photos in his long post.

Recently, the entire pop culture world became a little melancholic to spot Jackie Chan with white hair and an old look in some viral photos. However, Chan clarified in his post that the fans need not be concerned about his health as the look is for his latest project.

“The Antisocial Network: Memes to Mayhem” is a documentary about 4Chan, the popular imageboard website that became the Petri dish in which QAnon — the mother of all crackpot conspiracy theories — came into being. The story of 4Chan makes for a fascinating chapter in the evolution of Internet culture. But chances are we wouldn’t be seeing a documentary about it that drops today on Netflix if the 4Chan saga hadn’t culminated in the arrival of QAnon. Given the significance of QAnon, you’d think that when the movie arrived at its creation, it would feel like you were entering the last circle of the heart of darkness.
But no. Ironically, the genesis of QAnon is the lightest and most amusing part of “The Antisocial Network.” That’s not because QAnon itself has been anything less than disastrous in the wreckage it has caused this country. Of all the things...

Jackass alum Steve-o had to turn down an opportunity to appear on Bill Maher’s podcast Club Random due to a strange reason. The controversial host of Real Time with Bill Maher couldn’t allegedly give up his habit of smoking pot for his potential interview with Steve-o. The entertainer has been sober for 16 years and placed the condition with the host, who refused to agree to it.

Maher started the Club Random podcast in 2022 and he often smoked pot during his interview with celebrity guests. However, he had respected his guest’s wishes in the past and did not touch the pot during some interviews, like the one with Sheryl Crow.

On the latest episode of his podcast Wild Ride!, Steve-o said he turned down appearing on Bill Maher’s podcast because the Club Random host refused to not smoke weed during their chat.
Steve-o — whose real name is Stephen Glover — asked conservative commentator Patrick Bet-David, who appeared on Club Random recently, about his experience with Maher, particularly about how he felt about the TV personality smoking weed in the room.
While Bet-David didn’t appear to have an issue with it, Glover noted that he brought it up because Maher didn’t respect his wishes as a former addict to have a sober environment.
“For me, I’m a clean and sober guy. It’s very important that I maintain my sobriety,” said Glover. “I’m about to be sweet 16 [years sober], coming up on it. Really, there’s nothing I value more than my sobriety. There’s nothing more that I protect than my recovery.

Isaac Gale and Ryan Olson’s Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool Painted isn’t the sort of “important” documentary that generally wins awards, but it’s a fine example of something even rarer: a documentary that draws its voice and aesthetic from the spirit of its subject, resulting in a tight 97 minutes that feel organic and satisfying and, as befits that subject, appealingly odd.
When it comes to Swamp Dogg, I’m not sure if there’s a middle ground between “Who?!?” and “Swamp Dogg is the Best!!!” though perhaps Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool Painted will create an appreciative warmth in that space.
Swamp Dogg has acquired his position as a musical cult icon by virtue of an astonishing adjacency to fame that dates back to his first recorded song in 1954. In the subsequent 70 years, he’s been signed to, recorded for, and even been an executive at possibly dozens of labels.

Colin Jost and Michael Che appeared in Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update for the first time in 2024, and the main topic was the presidential election run between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
“It’s 2024, but, is it?” Jost asked at the beginning of the segment as the U.S. gets ready to elect the next president, with the most likely options being Biden or Trump, just like in 2020.
Jost continued, “I don’t know about you, but when I think of the year 2020, I never think, ‘Hmm, we should run that one back.'”
The comedian went on to point out some of the gaffes Biden and Trump have made during recent appearances. Biden confused a woman with a congresswoman who wasn’t there, “then the next day, Donald Trump repeatedly confused Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi.”
“Guys, I don’t know if we should do this election,” Jost added.

The week of Thanksgiving is always a major one for moviegoers, and these days, that holds true for streaming too. Netflix typically offers up a new movie that becomes an instant hit among subscribers, and this year it was the animated Adam Sandler film "Leo." If you haven't seen the ads for "Leo," it's a musical coming-of-age comedy about an old lizard (Sandler) who becomes a mentor to fifth graders after they discover the class pet can talk. It's more likely that you have already seen this movie, though, as Netflix reports that 34.6 million people tuned in to watch it during the week of November 20th to 27, 2023.
Streamers' self-reported data is notoriously less-than-transparent, but an animated kids' movie doing huge numbers during a long weekend is a no-brainer. "Leo" also actually looks good; the smooth animation is closer to Dreamworks or Pixar style than typical Netflix fare, and Sandler reigns...

Hi, I'm (not) Johnny Knoxville, and welcome to (an article about) "Jackass"!
Somehow, over 20 years after the boundary-pushing reality stunt comedy series that launched Knoxville's career debuted on that dusty relic known as MTV, "Jackass" is still going. And not just the franchise; Knoxville and much of his original crew have continued to actively throw themselves into harm's way to entertain the masses. In fact, "Jackass Forever" emerged as one of the saviors of the 2022 box office, keeping the art of the R-rated guffawfest alive in typical topsy-turvy "Jackass" fashion. It's not just creaky Gen-Xers and Millennials like myself; even today's youths agree, the dudes rock.
With Knoxville and his boys now in their 40s and 50s, though, it begs the question: Exactly how much longer can they keep poking death and severe physical injury in the eye, and walk away laughing? At this stage, the "Jackass" crew seems to...

The "Jackass" franchise is a wild ride that started with a late-night MTV series but has become a full-fledged force of nature in its own right, and a crucial part of that magnificent maelstrom is Steve-o, born Steven Glover. It's almost impossible to define the charismatic performer — he's one part circus clown, one part stuntman, one part comedian, and his unique brand of entertaining helps make this franchise what it is. He has done some disgusting and terrifying things in the name of making all of us laugh, and in his new unrated multimedia comedy special, "Steve-o's Bucket List," he's allegedly going even wilder than he did on "Jackass," which should really be something. But what about the "Jackass" franchise? Is there a film that he feels is the pinnacle, or do they just continue to improve upon the previous incarnation?

It's hard to imagine that there's any stunt the "Jackass" guys won't try. This is a group of friends who have eaten the most disgusting things imaginable, tortured their bodies, committed psychological terrorism on one another, doused themselves in all numbers of bodily (both human and animal) fluids, and often end up hospitalized in the process, all in the name of committing to the bit. That isn't to say that there isn't some corporate red tape that gets in the way of their shenanigans. Ahead of the release of "Jackass Forever," it was revealed that a handful of stunts including getting hit by a car, taking a live bullet while wearing a bulletproof vest, and rolling down the stairs in a cardboard box set with pillows were all denied by Standards and Practices.

Pranks. Pain. Penises.
These three words arguably encompass just about any of the stunts pulled by the "Jackass" crew, and when it comes to Steve-o, often all three at once. For the last two decades, Steve-o (real name Stephen Gilchrist Glover) has been putting his life and body on the line not just for all of our entertainment, but as a wild form of therapy.
On its face, the "Jackass" franchise seems like nothing more than grown men acting like immature fools, but as /Film's own Valerie Ettenhofer rightfully pointed out after watching the franchise for the very first time, "These movies are precisely designed to push the limits of cinema, of good taste, and of the human body." Ettenhofer also declared Steve-o the most fascinating of the bunch to watch, writing:

Ettenhofer also declared Steve-o the most fascinating of the bunch to watch, writing:
"He's wholly present, a funny and well-adjusted weirdo proving it's possible to grow up, take care of yourself,...

Warning: This interview is not for the squeamish.
If you've ever watched a "Jackass" movie or episode, Steve-o explodes off the screen as a man who enjoys his life. Why, then, does he seem so hellbent on jeopardizing it?
With the possible exception of Johnny Knoxville, no member of the daredevil troupe has performed gnarlier stunts than Steve-o. Over the years, we've seen him shimmy across a tightrope over an alligator pool with a raw chicken dangling from his underwear, wear a Peruvian jellyfish as a sombrero, and sustain repeated genital trauma via all kinds of inventively stupid methods. On the serious side, he battled drug addiction for over a decade before getting completely sober in 2008.
You might think clear-headedness would instill a strong sense of self-preservation in Steve-o, but subjecting his body to all manner of punishment and indignity is what he lives for. Indeed, when the Jackass boys are on a break,...

Pop star Britney Spears has been back in the public eye ever since the abuse she's suffered from both her management team and her family came to light, resulting in the termination of her conservatorship in 2021 after 14 years. Her new memoir, "The Woman in Me," (published this past October by Simon & Schuster) has put the spotlight on her once again; the New York Times bestseller list doesn't lie.
While "Saturday Night Live" hasn't had Spears on as a guest host yet, the latest episode, did have a sketch highlighting the book. "The Woman in Me: Auditions" features Britney revealing some interesting details about how the memoir's audiobook was produced. As the sketch notes, the audiobook of "The Woman in Me" was ultimately read by Michelle Williams. However, Fineman's Britney reveals that plenty of other actors auditioned for the honor of reading her words.

Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs certainly seems to have struck a nerve for some people, and I doubt the first-look image is going to change anyone’s mind.
The studio announced this morning that the release of Snow White had been pushed from March 22, 2024, to March 21, 2025, but they also released a new image featuring Rachel Zegler’s Snow White surrounded by the Seven Dwarfs. Unfortunately, the characters look as though they’ve been dragged from the uncanny valley kicking and screaming. Check it out below.
That’s some Polar Express shit right here. The reveal of the characters may also come as a surprise to some as Disney had implied that they would be taking a different approach with the Dwarves after Peter Dinklage slammed the remake last year.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" might be set in a gritty dive bar in South Philly, but the series costs millions of dollars to make. The network-grade camera equipment is a huge liability, especially in a neighborhood like the one where the series is set. Much of the show is shot on the set of Paddy's Pub in Los Angeles, but some parts of "It's Always Sunny" are shot on location in Philadelphia, per Collider. The cast and crew of the FX series are unafraid of taking risks, often putting their bodies and their reputation on the line for the series, but sometimes their bold authenticity comes at a price.
The only member of the "It's Always Sunny" cast who's actually from Philly is showrunner Rob McElhenney, who also stars in the show as Mac opposite series co-creators Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton. Each character in Paddy's crew gets one...

The concept of death can be confusing at any age. Even adults have a hard time processing this unavoidable part of life. For young people, though, death should be the last thing on their minds. And for a long time, the two main characters of Crazy Fun Park didn’t have to consider their mortality. Best friends Chester and Mapplethorpe were more concerned with finishing their graphic novel and making it to school on time each morning than the possibility of never seeing each other again. Yet in this Australian teen-drama series, death catches these boys completely off guard and puts their friendship to the test.
Death is typically the conclusion of relationships in other stories, but here it’s just the beginning for these two soulmates. Chester and Mapplethorpe (neatly played by Henry Strand and Stacy Clausen) are the embodiment of the word “inseparable.” Drawing from real life, series...

Adapting the biography of a singular figure is hard enough, but how do you adapt the autobiography of a band? Bassist Nikki Sixx, guitarist Mick Mars, drummer Tommy Lee, and Vince Neil joined forces to make Mötley Crüe, one of the most successful bands of the 1980s and well-documented hedonist troublemakers.
In 2001, all four members of the band along with Neil Strauss released an autobiography called "The Dirt," describing the group as "the world's most notorious rock band." The book shot to the top 10 on the New York Times Best Seller list and stayed there for 10 weeks. On a personal note, I used the book as the subject of my own freshman year biography project book report in 2004, when I showed up to school dressed like Nikki Sixx and delivered my presentation in full character ... much to my teacher's chagrin.

From high jinks on YouTube to the high-brow slate of A24, Danny and Michael Philippou’s origin story is about as 2023 as it gets.
The twin Australian brothers began making homemade horror movies at the age of nine, and in 2013, they took things a step further by creating their YouTube channel, RackaRacka, which now sports nearly 7 million subscribers. The Philippous’ videos featured the usual antics of those who grew up on WWE, Jackass and genre movies, but they always contained a number of flourishes that pointed to the brothers’ greater aspirations as filmmakers.
Eventually, the brothers Philippou were inspired by their friend Daley Pearson’s short film about possession as a means to get high, and out of that, Talk to Me was born. Having worked on local Australian movie sets such as The Babadook (2014), the twins made use of their connections at Causeway Films and approached founders Kristina Ceyton and Samantha Jennings.

Jason Acuña aka Wee Man has a few thoughts on “Wonka.”
The “Jackass Forever” star shared a TikTok video questioning Hugh Grant’s casting as an Oompa Loompa in the upcoming “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” prequel. Timothée Chalamet portrays the titular chocolatier Willy Wonka.
“Hugh Grant is now playing an Oompa Loompa? So I guess Hugh Grant, you’re now identifying as a little person?” Acuña said. “Huh, interesting.”
The stunt man went on to call out Disney’s upcoming “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” live-action remake with Rachel Zegler in the lead.
“You’re replacing jobs that people could have [us] as little people,” Acuna added. “It’s for dwarfs. Why are you hiring ‘Snow White and the seven average people?'”
He continued that Disney should “make it right” and “re-do” casting with members of the dwarfism community. “Make it better Disney,” Acuna said.

Hugh Grant Being Cast as Oompa Loompa in New ‘Wonka’ Film Criticized by Actor with Dwarfism
Hugh Grant‘s casting in the upcoming “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” prequel, “Wonka”, is being criticized by actors with dwarfism.
In the trailer for the film, which was released earlier this month, Grant is seen as an Oompa Loompa, the name Roald Dahl used for the group of diminutive factory workers in his 1964 novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.
While it’s not clear if any actors with dwarfism are featured in the upcoming film, Oompa Loompas were played by actors with dwarfism in two previous films based on Roald Dahl’s book.
In a new interview from the BBC, George Coppen, an actor with dwarfism, said he believes the role should have been given to an actor with the condition.

Veteran Hollywood exec Katie Martin Kelley is joining Warner Bros.’ movie studio as executive vp of communications, Warner Bros. Discovery announced Wednesday.
Her arrival at the studio’s Burbank lot isn’t a total surprise, considering she worked closely with Warner Bros. Picture Group co-chairs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy when the duo ran MGM.
In her new role, Martin Kelley will lead media relations and corporate communications for the film group, including Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema and the newly rebranded Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. She’ll report to De Luca and Abdy.

Johnny Knoxville may have been leading a hit franchise, but the actor was deemed “uninsurable” due to the intense stunts behind “Jackass.”
During a recent Vanity Fair lie detector test video, Knoxville was asked whether he is an insurance agent’s worst nightmare, to which he replied, “No, does that sound true?” Once the lie detector administer confirmed Knoxville had fibbed, he said, “Ok, you got me, I am.”
Knoxville continued, “At the end of the ‘Jackass’ TV show, I think, we lost all our insurance. So that wasn’t great. I think we were uninsurable at that point.”
The “Reboot” actor has led the two-decade-long “Jackass” franchise since its MTV series beginnings, starring in the most recent film installment, “Jackass Forever,” last year.
Knoxville told IndieWire in 2022 that a dangerous stunt had to be cut from the Paramount film due to insurance issues. “We did have something on this...

Steve-o is revealing why he thinks Jackass Forever “was kind of a bummer,” even though it was a box office hit.
During an interview with NME, published online Friday, the writer-entertainer opened up about the 2022 film, which saw Johnny Knoxville and his crew returning for another round of wild and dangerous stunts and comedy. But it was one of Knoxville’s scenes in the latest film that changed Steve-o’s perspective.

Beware! If you mess with the wrong person in an attempt to get them in a “gotcha!” moment, they might enlist Johnny Knoxville, Eric Andre and Gabourey Sidibe to get you right back! That is the trio’s mission in their new ABC show, “The Prank Panel.” And no one is safe – not even the cast themselves.
The concept of the show is simple: people come before the panel and pitch a prank they’d like them to pull on someone close to them who first pulled a prank on them. In other words, big time retribution. The panel then chooses one and does all the very elaborate dirty work.
After Jimmy Kimmel, the show’s producer, pulled the group together, Andre set his sight on pranking Sidibe. But he was messing with the wrong person.
“You tried to get me with the bugs that, but the bugs had no effect on you.

The streaming landscape is as crowded as ever this week. Apple TV+ has a new series from the team behind "Gossip Girl," a murder mystery called "City on Fire." Netflix is bringing back the fab five for season 7(!) of "Queer Eye." Meanwhile, Pete Davidson is getting confessional in the semi-autobiographical comedy "Bupkis," and "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is finally swinging its way towards Disney+.
If you burn through "Queer Eye," make sure to check out "Getting Curious," which puts Jonathan Van Ness' sunny spin on the educational show format. "City on Fire" stars can also be spotted in recent cult favorite teens shows "Generation" and "I Am Not Okay With This."
Have you heard about the Writers Guild of America strike? Round out the week with some essential strike-related viewing: "Harlan County, U.S.A." is a classic documentary streaming on HBO Max, while the workplace sitcom "Superstore" adds comedy to a labor movement plotline.

Bernad and Schulman began with the idea to hone in on sitcom genre tropes and create a story about an isolated individual amongst a cast of actors as they served on a sequestered jury.
The two have had successful stints with unconventional comedy subgenres, most recently within the improvised-scripted sphere. Schulman worked with Sacha Baron Cohen on “Who Is America?” and Bernad teamed with Eric Andre on “Bad Trip.” Prior to “Jury Duty,” Schulman served as executive producer on “Borat,” “Bruno,” “The Lovebirds” and “The Dictator,” while Bernad executive produced “The White Lotus,” “Superstore,” “Uncharted” and “White House Plumbers.“

Movie producers usually take out cast insurance on their stars to protect themselves and the production against potential costs, should an accident or some other unfortunate event prevent the actors from filming. Though Tom Cruise has developed a reputation for doing his own death-defying stunts — to the point where he'll even casually stand on a flying plane for a simple promo — he's the exception to the rule. Producers and studios generally don't want stars on the outside of planes, even when their role calls for it, as was the case on "Point Break."
The original "Point Break," starring Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves, involves a fair amount of thrill-seeking behavior, such as surfing and, yes, skydiving. Reeves plays Johnny Utah, a quarterback-turned-fbi-agent with a bad knee who infiltrates a group of mask-wearing bank robbers, the Ex-Presidents, led by Swayze's mononymous Bodhi.
It seems Swayze took up his character's penchant for jumping out of planes,...

Former Jackass star Bam Margera turned himself into Pennsylvania State Police after the agency issued an arrest warrant for him on Monday.
Margera surrendered to authorities in Avondale and was arraigned in a district court with a bail set for $50,000, Pennsylvania State Trooper James Grothey tweeted on Thursday. The former reality star has a hearing set for May 25 in Chester County.
In a statement to NBC News, Margera’s lawyer Michael van der Veen said his client has pled not guilty. “Families have disputes all the time. Every family has disputes. This isn’t a dispute that should play out in the courts or the media,” van der Veen told the outlet.
The arrest comes after Margera allegedly fled from a fight with an unnamed individual in Pocopson Township in Pennsylvania. In a statement on Sunday, Pennsylvania State Police announced an arrest warrant had been issued for Margera in relation to the incident.

Renfield makeup artist Christien Tinsley has revealed the extreme lengths Nicolas Cage went to, to play Dracula.
In the new movie by director Chris McKay, Cage plays the vampire, while Nicholas Hoult portrays the title character, Dracula’s long-suffering assistant and henchman.
In an interview with Variety, Tinsley revealed they used 3D printing to craft Dracula’s famous fangs.
“This was the first film that I know of where we used 3D printing to do all the dentures,” Tinsley said. “We jumped in headfirst with 3D printing. We would scan Nic’s teeth and digitally sculpt them.”
Once the fake teeth were made, “We shaved Nic’s teeth down and the dentures were fitted so as not to impede on Nic’s speech and allow full freedom,” he said.
“Nic wanted to emote and annunciate properly, so it was important the veneers were thin.”
