So You Think You Can Dance Recap: Who Was Eliminated From the Top 7?

So You Think You Can Dance Recap: Who Was Eliminated From the Top 7?
While many of us enjoyed the final hours of a three-day weekend, the remaining So You Think You Can Dance contestants worked overtime for the Fox series’ Labor Day installment.

And oh, what an episode it was. There were tears, courtesy of Mary Murphy. There was an overuse of the word “stupendous,” courtesy of Vanessa Hudgens. And there was some infuriating favoritism of one particular couple, courtesy of Cat Deeley.

All that, and a genuinely shocking elimination — at least for this recapper, who did not see it coming.

Read on for a breakdown of Monday’s performances with the All-

Sytycd Recap: 100 Percent Pure Dance
“Turn down these voices inside my head,” requested Bonnie Raitt, in her epic 1991 hit “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

That’s not a bad philosophy, as it turns out, for watching So You Think You Can Dance — still breathtaking in Season 12, and yet also unflinchingly manipulative in its pre-performance packages, judges’ comments and even post-dance interview soundbites.

‘Step Up 5: All In’ Review

Stars: Ryan Guzman, Briana Evigan, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Misha Gabriel, Izabella Miko, Alyson Stoner, Adam Sevani, Stephen ‘Stev-o’ Jones, David ‘Kid David’ Shreibman, Mari Koda, Christopher Scott, Luis ‘Luigi’ Rosado, Chadd Smith, Facundo Lombard, Martín Lombard, Cyrus ‘Glitch’ Spencer | Written by John Swetnam | Directed by Trish Sie

Guilty Pleasure. It’s a term I dislike immensely. Why feel guilty about enjoying anything? If you like some, you like something, end of. Another reason I dislike the term guilty pleasure is because the term, at least in movie-related circles, has become synonymous with any movie that is hailed as worthy of critical discussion. Adam Sandler movies are guilty pleasures. The Fast & Furious franchise is (apparently) considered guilty pleasures by some. F that. I like Adam Sandler’s movies, I like the Fast & Furious movies (hell, I’d even go and say I love those!).

But what does that have to do

DVD Review – Step Up 5: All In (2014)

Step Up 5: All In, 2014.

Directed by Trish Sie.

Starring Ryan Guzman, Briana Evigan, Adam G. Sevani, Misha Gabriel Hamilton, Stephen Boss and Alyson Stoner.

Synopsis:

All-stars from the previous Step Up installments come together in glittering Las Vegas, battling for a victory that could define their dreams and their careers.

Step Up 5: All In is the fifth entry into the Step Up franchise. This series has stayed mostly the same throughout the years, focusing on great dance sequences and not much else. Having seen all the previous films I can safely say that this series is somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine, despite only really liking the third entry. Everyone involved in these films know they aren’t making anything groundbreaking and they realize people are there just to see the dancing so they never take themselves seriously and put all of their emphasis on the dance sequences,

Derek Hough, Jesse Tyler Ferguson Put on Their Dancing Shoes at Emmy Awards Choreographers Reception

Derek Hough, Jesse Tyler Ferguson Put on Their Dancing Shoes at Emmy Awards Choreographers Reception
The Emmy Awards Choreographers Nominee Reception felt more of a family affair than a ceremony, as members of television’s dance community greeted each other with open arms Sunday night at the Television Academy in North Hollywood. The evening was a full-blown celebration of dance, peppered with speeches from Academy members Kenny Ortega and Anita Mann, as well as numerous performances, including an opening number choreographed by Mandy Moore, Misha Gabriel, Michael Rooney, Tony Testa and Travis Wall, and special pieces from “Hit the Floor’s” Devil Girls, the Monsters of Hip Hop and Wall and Jaimie Goodwin.

“It’s wonderful,” exclaimed Derek Hough of being able to celebrate with his friends and colleagues. Hough is nominated for a third year for his work on “Dancing with the Stars” and said that being nominated is “such an incredible honor. Especially when you’re such a fan of everybody.”

“I’m a big fan of dance,

Movie Review – Step Up 5: All In (2014)

Step Up 5: All In, 2014

Directed by Trish Sie

Starring Ryan Guzman, Briana Evigan, Adam G. Sevani, Misha Gabriel Hamilton, Stephen Boss, Stephen Stevo Jones, David Shreibman, Mari Koda, Christopher Scott, Luis Rosado and Chadd Smith

Synopsis:

All-stars from the previous Step Up installments come together in glittering Las Vegas, battling for a victory that could define their dreams and their careers.

The fifth entry into the Step Up series doesn’t bring anything new to the table, but then it doesn’t feel like it was trying to. Step Up 5: All In is just another entry into the popular dance franchise with sub-par acting, impressive choreography and a whole load of nothing else.

The Mob are on hard times. They did have “the Nike advert”, but since then it has just been rejection after rejection from various auditions. It gets so bad that the whole crew head back to Miami,

So it makes sense a fifth one would be made and it arrives later this year in the form of Step Up All In. Directed by Trish Sie, the film brings together characters from previous installments including Ryan Guzman, Briana Evigan, Stephen "twitch" Boss, Misha Gabriel, Izabella Miko, Alyson Stoner and Adam Sevani.
