Stand-up comic. Talk show innovator. The View firebrand. Betty Rubble. There’s very little Rosie O’Donnell, 61, has left to accomplish in her singular career. From the moment she broke out of Long Island with a performance on Star Search in 1984, O’Donnell has proved a highly resilient, sometimes confrontational and always entertaining force. She’s also among the most fiercely outspoken advocates of LGBTQ+ causes in Hollywood. (She launched her own gay family cruise line, for heaven’s sake.) Then, as the country’s far right kicks up its attacks on queer people and their art forms, who better than O’Donnell, the original Donald Trump adversary and Broadway’s biggest cheerleader, to celebrate in The Hollywood Reporter‘s 2023 tribute to Pride?

A pageant queen going down in flames due to scandalous circumstances? Nothing new there. It all started in 1984, of course, when Miss America Vanessa Williams —the first black winner, ever— was ousted after Penthouse sweetly published lesbionic pics from her starving actress days. And then there was Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner, whose rampant drug use and sexed-up party pics were exposed online. Tragic, but at least they were adults. Today, the New York Daily News reports that Miss Delaware Teen USA Melissa King gave up her crown after a porn video surfaced allegedly starring the 18 year-old. There’s no proof it’s King, but the girl does look and sound a lot like her.
There’s more. Before the hardcore sex kicks off in the circa-June 2012 video, the girl reveals her favorite sex position…and then says that she turned 18 two months before (which would’ve been King’s birthday). Off-camera,...

For the stunning red-head Alyssa, it’s on to compete for the title of Miss Universe!
Alyssa Campanella may have been raised a Jersey girl, but she represented the Golden State to take home the crown in the Miss USA 2011 pageant (not to be confused with Miss America!), filmed at the Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas. Alyssa bested first runner up Miss Tennessee Ashley Durham, second runner up Miss Alabama Madeline Mitchell, and third runner up Miss Texas Ana Rodriguez. Alyssa, a full-time model was considered one of the judge’s favorites.
This isn’t the end of the road for our winner — She gets to represent the United States in the Miss Universe pageant Sept. 12 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. That is, of course, if she complies with the very strict rules that apply to any woman holding the Miss USA title.

Shannon Marketic, who competed as Miss California and was crowned Miss USA in 1992, was arrested Monday (Aug. 2) for shoplifting in Denton, TX, according to police. She was charged with shoplifting goods from a Target store, according to Fox News out of Dallas.
The total worth of the items was roughly $87. Marketic was freed Tuesday (Aug. 3) on a $500 bond. This is not her first run-in with the law. She was also arrested at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport in 2007 for public intoxication. She told police she thought she was in Washington D.C. at the time.
Perhaps former Miss USAs could start a bad girls club -- Shannon Marketic, Carrie Prejean and Tara Conner can be the co-founders.

The internet is buzzing about the newly released official Miss Universe photos. Images of the lace-, fishnet-, and lingerie-clad contestants in steamy poses have gained a lot of fans as well as some big detractors.
In an official statement by Donald Trump, Executive Producer of the Miss Universe Pageant, he said, "We are in a different age. They are a little bit sexy, but I'll tell you what – everybody's watching, so I have no problems with it."
A lot of people disagree with this statement, claiming it's hypocrisy in an organization that as recently as last year tried to de-throne Miss California Carrie Prejean after some racy photos surfaced. See if this CBS Morning Show video helps sway you one way or the other.
We think it's about time the pageants admitted what they are and let the girls strut their stuff. You don't have to look if it offends you.

Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka has joined his war with Rosie O'Donnell, branding the comedienne "a bully." O'Donnell upset Trump, the owner of the Miss USA pageant, last month when she ridiculed him on her magazine talk show The View for giving hard-partying, alcohol-abusing beauty queen Tara Conner a chance to redeem herself during a much-publicized press conference. She accused him of bankruptcy and called him a "snake-oil salesman." Trump hit back calling O'Donnell "a crude, arrogant, pushy, disgusting slob," and now Ivanka - the 25-year-old vice president of real estate development at her father's Trump Organization - has weighed in. Ivanka says, "I think it was unfair, it was uncalled for and, quite frankly, there was no reason for it. As my father said, she, too, has had a lot of second chances. You know, there's nothing surprising about the fact that my dad's gonna come back with a vengeance anytime anyone says anything negative against him."...

Real estate mogul Donald Trump has stepped up his war of words with Rosie O'Donnell after she made unflattering statements about him on US chat show The View on Wednesday morning. Co-host O'Donnell called Trump a "snake-oil salesman" following his announcement that he would not fire troubled Miss USA Tara Conner. She then went on to talk about alleged extra-marital affairs and discussed Trump's finances, claiming that he went bankrupt - a charge he denies. Trump fired back, telling American publication People that O'Donnell is "a woman out of control" and insisting he would be suing her over her statement questioning his financial well-being. And he appeared on Good Day LA yesterday to fire yet more barbs at O'Donnell. He said, "I think she's very attracted to Miss USA so she probably wanted to put the crown on her head herself... She is a very, very unattractive woman who really is a bully... Rosie is a loser, and ultimately (The View) will fail because of Rosie. Barbara Walters made a mistake and let me tell you something, Barbara's a good friend of mine. She cannot stand Rosie O'Donnell."...
