Martina Radwan’s Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow will have its world premiere at Doc NYC in the U.S. Competition section on November 10. In advance, we’re pleased to share the film’s trailer. From the press release: This film tackles the emotional and ethical challenges that arise when a determined, idealistic and thoroughly unprepared American cinematographer decides to support three Mongolian orphans, while traveling back and forth. Told over the span of six years, Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow is a deeply personal film and an honest portrait of how storytellers and their characters impact each other. Tribeca Enterprises Chief Content Officer Paula Weinstein surprised a packed house tonight at Tribeca Festival’s annual Harry Belafonte Voices for Social Justice Award presentation with a special, never before seen, extended sneak peek of Susanne Rostock’s upcoming Harry Belafonte documentary “Following Harry.”
The four-minute clip, presented below, represents the prologue of Rostock’s upcoming documentary. The reveal was the climax of the event, during which the annual award was presented to Jane Fonda at Indeed Theater at Spring Studios.
The footage shows the elderly activist, who passed away at the age of 96 on April 25 of this year, reflecting on his life and the frustration that he has seen so many negative forces emerging upon the public stage in his twilight years.
“The truth of the matter is that the enemy doesn’t sleep,” Belafonte states amid scenes of torch-bearing Charlottesville Nazi protestors shouting “blood and soil.”

Filmmaker and Filmmaker contributor Alix Lambert directed the new Shearwater video, which just went online. It’s from their new Animal Joy album, and, appropriately, there is animal imagery. I asked Alix about the origins of the video’s concept, and she emailed back:
When I first listened to the song, I just wrote down the lyrics that most jumped out at me. The bloody nose became a thread that I wanted to go through the film. Jonathan wanted to include Nicholas Kahn’s wonderful costumes, which I was thrilled about and from there I felt like there should be some kind of post-apocalyptic journey toward the ocean (shouldn’t there always be?). The great thing about making a music video (vs a feature narrative) is that there needs to be a nod toward a story — but a lot can be left mysterious.
Previously on the site, Alix interviewed this video’s d.

I started working with Dp Martina Radwan about a year ago on the feature documentary, Mentor (addressing bullying and teen suicide in Mentor, Ohio) I further had the pleasure of working with her on a recent music video for the band Shearwater. It is a gift, as a director, to find a Dp who you can quickly fall into a shorthand with, creating your own visual language, and trusting in the collaborative process. Radwan and I found this with each other.
Her narrative work includes Flannel Pajamas, by Jeff Lipsky; Singapore Dreaming, one of the first Singaporean feature productions and the winner of several international awards; Rain, the first indigenous film of the Bahamas, produced and directed by Maria Govan; The Killing Floor, a thriller produced by Doug Liman & Avi Arad and the horror film Train, a Millennium Films production, both directed by Gideon Raff.
