The Game will always be a show that Tia Mowry is known for. It is her most prominent role outside of her six years starring in Sister,Sister. The show was beloved by fans, and her character was considered the show’s focus. This is why when she left the show after five seasons, it took a hit. Mowry says she quit due to not agreeing with an offer from the show’s executives.

It’s been over a decade since Whitney Houston left the world, but her impact remains unmatched. The “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” singer was already a superstar before starring in the 1992 film The Bodyguard as the lead character and Kevin Costner’s love interest, but her superstardom rose to new heights afterward. Costner recently paid tribute to Houston and gave her mentor and friend Clive Davis his flowers for the role he played in her life.

Ahead of the 2023 Grammy Awards, Davis’ annual pre-Grammy party was held. It also marked the anniversary weekend of Houston’s death. Costner took the stage to praise the role Davis played in Houston’s professional and personal life. And despite Houston’s premature death, Costner says Davis should be highlighted for his contributions.

Dublin (Ireland), Sep 20 (Ians) Off-spinner Simi Singh was on Tuesday selected ahead of Andy McBrine as the third spinner in the Ireland squad for the Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia starting next month.
With George Dockrell and Gareth Delany doing well this season, the selectors decided to pick one spinner in the 15-member squad and Simi Singh got the nod.
“One of the most considered decisions we had to make was around our spin bowling options. With George Dockrell and Gareth Delany both having an impact this summer and the variation they bring to the attack, it came down to making a choice between Simi Singh and Andy McBrine.
“Andy can feel very unfortunate to have missed out this time, but we believe Simi offers more variation on Australian wickets with his ability to take the ball away from both right and left-handers,” Cricket Ireland’s chief selector Andrew White said.

We are as anxious as ever to return to Liberty High School for the second season of 13 Reasons Why as we continue to watch the mystery surrounding Hannah Baker unravel. A slew of new actors have joined the show for season two, including newcomer Bryce Cass as Tyler's new friend Cyrus.
Cass has been flying under the radar lately, but he's been working in the entertainment industry for well over a decade. The actor started his career in 2006 with a small role in the film The Guardian alongside Ashton Kutcher. Not a bad first gig, right? Originally from Dallas, TX, Cass worked with acting coach Cathryn Sullivan to hone his craft. He also made an appearance on a 2007 episode of ER at the age of 10 and was a regular participant on the hilarious TV reality show Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader.

More than three years after Michael Jackson's death , the pop icon will be at the beach, the pool, the 7-Eleven and everywhere in between this summer thanks to a new deal with PepsiCo.
According to The Wall Street Journal the #2 soda company is going back to the future with a massive campaign that will have Jackson's image imprinted on more than one billion cans of soda as part of its new global "Live For Now" marketing push.
Nearly 30 years after Jackson first agreed to be the voice of the brand, an agreement has been reached with Jackson's estate, though reps for both sides declined to disclose the financial terms of the deal. When Jackson signed on to shill Pepsi in 1984 he was paid a then-record $5 million.

Considering that Kevin Rudolf has written enough pop songs for artists like Jesse McCartney and Leona Lewis, it comes as no surprise that he can craft a pop song for himself. The Cash Money artist dropped "Don't Give Up" this week after he decided to embrace that lighter side for himself.
"It's the first song I wrote for the album. I wrote it right when I got to New York from L.A. I hadn't really written a song for myself in a long time. I got really inspired. I left L.A. and I felt a thousand pounds were off my shoulders," he said of the song, which will serve as his next album's lead single. "This was a message I...

The usual rule in Hollywood is that if something works once, it's probably worth doing it again, and again, and again, and then maybe once more just to make sure the concept hasn't run out of legs.
But even though "The Voice" mentors Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera smashed digital sales records with their collaboration "Moves Like Jagger," don't expect "American Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez to follow in their fancy footsteps.
"None of us are kind of followers in that way," Lopez told MTV News when asked if she and Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler might consider putting their very different pipes together to see if they could capture their own lightning in a bottle.

Given its general grittiness (and the fact that it's called Hell: The Sequel), Eminem and Royce Da 5'9" 's Bad Meets Evil album seems like the last place you'd ever find Bruno Mars. And yet, the pompadour-powered crooner shows up to sing the hook on "Lighters" (he also produced the track with his Smeezingtons cohorts), a decidedly upbeat ballad that provides a brief respite from the blood-and-guts boasts that Em and Royce pack on the disc.
And sure, the track feels out of place because of that fact, but that hasn't stopped it from becoming a rather sizeable Billboard hit. So it makes sense that there'd be an accompanying video that matches its uplift ethos every step of the way. And now, that video, directed by...

Jennifer Lopez came onto the scene as a dance princess, throwing millennium parties while "Waiting for Tonight" and frolicking on the beach declaring that "My Love Don't Cost a Thing." Well, it's now 2011 and not that much has changed for J.Lo.
She still wants her fans to shake their fannies while she sings about the ups and downs of love. This time around, however, she got some help from this millennium's biggest pop princess, Lady Gaga — along with frequent Gaga collaborator/producer RedOne — for the just-released Love? album.

Los Angeles — Leave it to Jennifer Lopez to throw the biggest party in Hollywood on Tuesday night. On the same day she dropped her new album Love?, the singer and "American Idol" judge also had one massive record release event at the Hard Rock Cafe at Hollywood and Highland.
The event was attended by fans and industry types as the singer formerly known as J.Lo celebrated her latest pop music achievement. When she spoke to MTV News about the party, she expressed how amazed she was by the fan response. "You describe [the chaos]! I want you to describe it! It's crazy out here!" she laughed on the red carpet. "I'm like, 'ah, ah, ah,' but it's a lot of fun.

Bad and Evil will once again team up, as rap stars Eminem and Royce da 5'9" announced Monday (April 25) that they will be dropping an Ep this June on Em's Shady Records division of Interscope.
The duo, who record under the alias Bad Meets Evil, first traded bars on Eminem's 1999 major-label debut, The Slim Shady LP, and then went on to release an independent single (with "Nuttin' to Do," "Scary Movies" and "I'm the King") on Game Records later that year. A subsequent feud between Em and Royce halted any collaborations between the two, but the duo has since made peace and began recording together. In January, it was announced that Eminem signed Royce's group, Slaughterhouse, to Shady, but before that project hits, fans will be treated to an as-yet-untitled Bad Meets Evil Ep.

'She loves that people are talking about it,' gossip blogger tells MTV News.

When Lady Gaga tweeted the Born This Way album art over the weekend, fans were a bit surprised by the cover photo, which features Gaga as a motorcycle/human hybrid.
Was it a joke? Was it for real? Well, it was for real, and even days later, everyone's still talking.
"They were definitely divisive and it was a polarizing image," Gaga's pal Perez Hilton told MTV News. "I knew it would really get a reaction out of people, and that was her intent. She could have easily gone for something expected, but that's the beautiful thing about Gaga."
The gossip blogger said the Nick Knight image's intention was to get people buzzing, whether or not that buzz ended up in the Mother Monster's favor.

The friends are going head-to-head in the second round of the MTV tournament, right now on the Newsroom blog.

Patrick Stump

On Monday, when we revealed the second-round matchups in our Musical March Madness tournament, few clashes stood out quite like the #4 Rise Against/ #12 Patrick Stump tilt in the Midwest region.
After all, this is a battle between friends. Both acts hail from Chicago, both have come up together (Ra frontman Tim McIlrath was actually in a band with Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz back in the day), and both share a respect for the other. So, it's nothing short of cruel that there can be only one winner.
Second-round voting is now under way in the Midwest region over on the Newsroom blog!
And that sentiment is shared by Stump himself, who spoke to MTV News about his Mmm matchup Tuesday morning (March 22). He is conflicted,...

Kirk Douglas onstage at Sunday's Academy Awards
Photo: Michael Caulfield/WireImage
The stage has gone quiet at the Kodak Theatre. The celebs have all gone home. Everyone is heavy-lidded and hazily recollecting the winners and losers at the 83rd Academy Awards on Sunday. Along those lines, it's time for MTV News to fight off the sleepiness, down some caffeine and dole out some Oscar superlatives.
Best Attempt to Make the Show Run Long
Kirk Douglas' assigned task was to hand out the Best Supporting Actress award, but when the 94-year-old actor finally reached the microphone, he was in no hurry to cede the spotlight. Douglas joked with James Franco, flirted with Anne Hathaway, and made random references to laughing Australians and austere Brits. It was touching and awkward and utterly memorable. And it felt like it lasted 15 minutes.

Hollywood veteran and icon Kirk Douglas stole the show early on in the 2011 Academy Awards broadcast. Aided by a walking cane, Douglas took the stage at the Kodak Theatre to present the award for Best Supporting Actress.
By the time he handed the Oscar to Melissa Leo, Douglas had flirted with Oscars host Anne Hathaway and managed to have the room in stitches by poking fun at Hugh Jackman and Colin Firth.
"Thank you very much," he told the applauding audience. "And I want to thank James [Franco]. Thank you. You look much better out of the cave. And I want to thank Miss Hathaway. I thank you. She's gorgeous! Wow! Where were you when I was making pictures?...

Photo: Michael Caulfield/WireImage
Late last year, when Patrick Stump told MTV News that his solo debut, Soul Punk, was tentatively due in February, there was much rejoicing from long-suffering Fall Out Boy fans, all of whom were clamoring for any bit of news surrounding their favorite group.
Of course, that rejoicing was tempered some when it was subsequently announced that Stump had pushed back Soul Punk in favor of a six-song Ep called Truant Wave. And on Tuesday, with little lead-up and absolutely zero promotion, that Ep premiered on iTunes. It not only provided Fob fans a preview of where Stump is headed, musically, but also served as a point of division among their ranks. Some loved the electronic-leaning, R&B-teasing jams, while others, well, they were probably hoping Stump would return to his pop-punk roots.

Hours before reviving her long-running Monster Ball Tour in Atlantic City, New Jersey, recently, Lady Gaga gave Rolling Stone magazine a sneak peek at four songs off her upcoming Born This Way album ... and from the sound of things, she's not only pushing the boundaries, she's borrowing from some of the best in the business.
For example, E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who lends his prodigious skronk to a pair of the songs — "Edge of Glory" and "Hair" — or Nine Inch Nails, circa Trent Reznor's Broken era (on "Hair," which also apparently draws inspiration from '80s singer Pat Benatar's "We Belong" and the inspirational, all-encompassing lyrics of LG's own "Born This Way"). Lady Gaga threw a wrench into the peaceful fabric of Crazy Town, of which she is mayor, by showing up to Sunday’s Grammy Awards encased in a giant egg, then “hatching” in a solid-color latex number with zero — zero! — random patches of material calling attention to her genital area. “This is pretty tame for her; most of her body is covered,” complained dee123 in the comment section of EW’s Grammys Red Carpet photo gallery. Meg Mon agreed. “She did add a few little Klingon bits on her forehead and shoulders. But for someone who is being ‘born’ into a performance,...

Los Angeles — Christina Aguilera can't seem to catch a break, but at least she was able to catch herself.
Exactly one week after her much-talked-about struggle with the national anthem at the Super Bowl, the powerhouse pop singer slipped and nearly fell off the stage at the conclusion of the Grammy tribute to Aretha Franklin.
As the crowd leapt to a standing ovation and roared their approval of her unsurprisingly standout participation in the performance, Christina slipped and very nearly fell from the stage but caught her balance without smashing to the floor or causing any serious damage (save for some natural embarrassment).
Everything went smoothly for Aguilera at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles just before that,...

"I know I don't have a lot of time, so first, thank you to the academy for even nominating me in this category," she said. "Thank you to the incredible community and family of musicians I'm so blessed to be a part of... my friends in Portland, all my teachers, colleagues... my beautiful family who's here," she continued, before naming names.

Muse's Matthew Bellamy performs at the Grammys on Sunday
Photo: Michael Caulfield/WireImage
After those unquestionably rousing performances from the women of the Aretha Franklin medley, Lady Gaga, and Miranda Lambert, the 2011 Grammys needed a little bit of rock and roll.
Cue this year's Best Rock Album winners Muse, who, as the evening's first males to perform on the stage, kicked in to their radio rotation-heavy anthem, "Uprising."
Standing atop television screens elevated above the stage, Matthew Bellamy — donning a sparkly white suit and playing a double-neck guitar — and his fellow bandmembers sounded just as good live as they do on their now Grammy-winning album The Resistance.
In what felt like a possible "Soy Bomb" moment, a security guard fought with a man onstage, but it turned out to be part of an anarchic scene to go along with the anti-authoritarian track.

Lady Gaga is kicking 2011 off with a bang. The singer shared with her little monsters that, come New Year's Eve, she will have a special announcement for her loyal fans about her upcoming album, Born This Way.

Justin Bieber seemingly did it all in 2010. He sold out concerts, filmed a movie, released two albums and set girls hearts aflutter — all in the span of 12 months. Not only is he arguably the biggest pop star in the world, he's also pals with some of hip-hop's biggest names (just ask Drake, Ludacris and Kanye West if you don't believe us), and he chills with some of the prettiest girls in the game thanks to friendships with ladies like Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez.
(They're more than just pretty faces, but you can still check out photos of our Men and Women of 2010!)
This really is Justin Bieber's world, and we're all just living in it. For a kid from a small town in Canada,...

Opposites attract in the Williams-Paisley household!
“The first child — his name is Huck — is a lot like me. He shares my disposition and focuses on a lot of things,” Brad Paisley said Sunday at a press conference for the American Music Awards.
But when it comes to his second son Jasper Warren‘s personality, the country crooner notes the father-son duo are as different as night and day.
“Then the second child is the opposite of Huck … which I think happens a lot,” he explains. “In some way he’s becoming my favorite just by...

Justin Bieber poses with his American Music Awards

Although she was nervous about kicking off Sunday night's (November 21) American Music Awards, Rihanna took the "challenge" and ran with it. Sporting crimson spirals and a skimpy two-piece, the Barbadian songbird turned out energetic renditions of Loud tracks "What's My Name?" and "Love the Way You Lie (Part II)" revved up with tropical touches like a drum circle and dancers in fringe-laden outfits. The songstress' hip-twisting, percussion-heavy set scored a standing ovation from the star-packed crowd.
Rihanna's set established the tone for the rest for the evening, which was marked by similarly epic stage productions. After picking up the award for Pop Music - Favorite Band, Duo or Group, the Black Eyed Peas...

Muse's victory in the Favorite Alternative Rock Artist category at Sunday night's 2010 American Music Awards felt like the crown jewel in what has been a pretty incredible few years for the band.
Their latest album, 2009's The Resistance, has sold millions of copies around the world, scored them a handful of hit singles, allowed them to sell out concerts on four different continents and perform at a number of high-profile television events. A bulk of that success is because of Muse's participation on the soundtracks of "The Twilight Saga" movies (Muse are "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer's favorite band). Their "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)," for one, was the...

Mariah Carey called into the radio show hosted by her husband, Nick Cannon, on Friday morning (October 29) to thank her friends, fans and family who have been sending an outpouring of congratulations since Carey announced on Thursday that she is pregnant. The singer laughed a lot when dishing with Cannon all about her feelings now that she's gone public with the big news.
"Right now I feel nauseous and exhausted!" she joked, adding that she shot some videos for her new Christmas album Merry Christmas II You, out Tuesday. "They weren't complete music videos, but they're gonna be cute. ... I didn't tell anybody thank you for the well wishes. I wasn't in touch with anybody at all. You've been out in the world today. I'm still insulated."

After, well, years of speculation, with the gossip reaching a fevered pitch the last few months, Mariah Carey confirmed that she is pregnant on the "Today" show Thursday morning (October 28).
"Well, we're here in New York; yes, we are pregnant," the 41-year-old singer said during a pre-taped interview segment with "Access Hollywood" host Billy Bush. "This is true."
Carey opened up about her struggle to get pregnant, but kept many of the details about her pregnancy shrouded in mystery in order to maintain some privacy. "I'm actually dealing with this, and it's been a long journey but it's been tough," she explained. "Well, it's still early. We're expecting in the spring."
