Former USA Network drama “White Collar” was a basic-cable relic before it was added to the Netflix library on April 1, 2024. But like “Suits” before it, another USA drama that found new life when it wound up on Netflix, “White Collar” has since turned up on Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming Overall (original and acquired series) list — twice.
“White Collar,” a Fox-produced show, has been on Hulu (because Disney’s Fox acquisition closed in 2019) since December 2018. But until Netflix nabbed the co-exclusive rights this spring, the series had never been a factor in streaming. The show, which ran from 2009-2014 on USA Network, was pretty much an afterthought. Just like “Suits.”
But now, like “Suits,” “White Collar” is getting a sequel series.
“We’re gonna reboot. I’m writing the script,” series creator Jeff Eastin said at Variety’s TV FYC Fest. “It’s the original cast.”

Benoit Blanc returns in his most dangerous case yet. Production has begun in London on Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third film featuring the celebrated, Southern-fried detective created by writer/director Rian Johnson and played by Daniel Craig. We first met Blanc in 2019’s Knives Out, when he was hired to investigate the death of bestselling author Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer). Blanc’s skills were called upon once more in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, when he headed to Greece to peel back the layers of intrigue surrounding tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) and an eclectic group of disruptors.

The summer solstice is still a couple weeks away, but awards season is in full bloom — the Television Critics Association just announced the nominees for its 40th annual awards, a milestone for the organization.
If you've been paying attention to the zeitgeist, you won't be surprised by the frontrunners. Baby Reindeer, one of this year's most electrifying (and polarizing) new series tied with Shōgun and Netflix's Ripley for the most nominations with five. The Bear's second season, which earned raves from critics everywhere, earned four nominations, including one for Program of the Year.
The Bear/Shōgun/Baby Reindeer/Ripley supremacy pushed FX and Netflix to the front of the pack with 16 nominations each. But HBO/Max isn't too far behind with 13, including nominations for Outstanding Achievement in News and Information and Program of the Year (for Hacks).

Cody Christian is a teen drama veteran, having spent six seasons playing Asher Adams, a bad boy football player turned coach, on The CW’s All American. The series, which centers on star football player Spencer James (Daniel Ezra), was recently renewed for a seventh season. Not only is All American the last standing teen drama on The CW (the spin-off All American: Homecoming will end after Season 3), it’s one of the only scripted shows left on the network, period.
However, Christian was well-known in the teen drama world long before he set foot on the Beverly Hills High football field. He starred as Mike Montgomery on ABC Family/Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars for six seasons and delivered a memorable performance as Theo Raeken on MTV’s Teen Wolf.

Emilia Clarke “couldn’t carry on” after surviving two brain aneurysms during “Game of Thrones.”
The actress, who played Daenerys Targaryen on the hit HBO show, told Big Issue that she was first concerned she would “get fired” following her aneurysms. At one point, as Big Issue wrote, Clarke even “asked medical staff to let her die” in fear of never acting again.
“When you have a brain injury, because it alters your sense of self on such a dramatic level, all of the insecurities you have going into the workplace quadruple overnight,” Clarke said. “The first fear we all had was, ‘Oh my God, am I going to get fired? Am I going to get fired because they think I’m not capable of completing the job?’”
Clarke recalled thinking while filming, “Well, if I’m going to die, I better die on…TV.”

The View‘s audience was highly amused by one bit of required reading on Monday’s show. After the cohosts had a lively discussion about Donald Trump and his post-conviction political rallies, Sunny Hostin had to take care of a little business. As the attorney of the group, she did her daily duty of reading out a legal notice that reads, “Trump has denied ever having an affair with Stormy Daniels.” After a beat of awkward silence on Hostin’s part, a chorus of laughter could be heard coming from the crowd. Hostin’s legal note came into play after she herself mentioned Daniels’ allegation that she and Trump were watching “Shark Week” during their brief affair, which would later result in a payout and subsequent conviction of Trump for felonious financial charges. Elsewhere in the conversation, Sara Haines offered her thoughts as to why Trump’s expected “revenge tour...

Now, one of the AI industry’s leading trade groups is joining that call — urging Congress to pass legislation that would protect artists from the unauthorized use of their likenesses.
Microsoft, which has invested $13 billion in OpenAI, is one of the key members of Bsa Software Alliance. In a policy statement issued on Monday, the trade group called for the creation of a new federal right to prevent misuse of digital replicas.

Lots of people started watching “The Circle” during the Covid lockdown. But only Sam Reich and the team at Dropout have been able to fully create their own parody version, one that is even a little bit truer to the spirit of the idea. For the “Game Changer” Season 6 two-part finale, “The Ratfish,” the team rented out a hotel floor’s worth of rooms and tricked them out to reflect the vibes of seven Dropout cast members playing a guessing game of sorts.
Each came up with a fake persona and, in order to win a billboard for whatever they wanted to promote on Hollywood Boulevard, were given a goal: Interact with each other via chat to correctly guess which persona is being played by which cast member without being ID’d themselves — but of course they were not told that the eighth player Among Us (or them) wasn’t...

Caution is a concept most Targaryens have difficulty wrapping their silver-maned heads around, but it's been an essential component in making the televised account of their family history, House Of The Dragon, work as well as it has. Given the critical disaster that was the final (two? three? four?) seasons of Game Of Thrones, it came as no surprise that HBO approached its prequel series as carefully as it did during its favorably reviewed first season. But this caginess has been a two-way street; no one forgets getting burned by a dragon (show) twice. ...

I’m just saying men have their bad parts. We’re toxic. We’re dogs. Only women would do this.” “Women are catty,” the controversial host added. “Even the ones on your own team.
