Marvin Humes and his wife Rochelle have ''friendly'' fights over whether 'The Voice' is better than 'The X Factor.' The former Jls singer - who has presented the BBC One show for the past three years - has admitted there is gentle tension between himself and his spouse, who hosts the ITV singing show's spin-off 'The Xtra Factor', when the two programmes go head-to-head in the famous ratings war. Speaking to Bang Showbiz, he said: ''There's always friendly rivalry between me and my wife.'' However, the handsome star - who shot into the limelight after competing on 'The X Factor' in 2008...

It always starts the same way. The opening few piano notes of something slow by Coldplay or Labrinth. A contestant swallows hard, then starts talking about their sick mum/child/dog. And suddenly, before Cheryl can even grab a tissue, you're sat on your sofa blubbing like a toddler.
Yes: The X Factor has given us some of the most heartbreaking moments on TV over the years. And from hysterics at Judges' Houses to Simon Cowell's own rare, salty tears, here are 6 moments that shattered us, ruined us and gave us every feeling possible.

The so-called 'Gamu Gate' has become a central part of X Factor lore. 18-year-old Zimbabwe-born Gamu Nhengu had given flawless performances throughout the whole show, right through to her rendition of 'Cry Me Out' for Cheryl and will.i.am at Judges' Houses. Port has been charged with four counts of murder and four counts of administering a poison with intent to endanger life or inflict grievous bodily harm.
The 40-year-old is accused of poisoning four men between June 2014 and September 2015, after contacting them via online dating services.

The ever-popular Crystal Maze finished its live run some 20 years ago today and is set to make a comeback soon in the form of a "live immersive experience".
Running for six series from 1990 to 1995, the Richard O'Brien (and Ed Tudor-Pole) fronted series is still an awesome watch on digital channel Challenge to this day.
So while we're all getting out our multi-coloured tracksuits in preparation for the live event, which is still having its set built, we cast our minds back to just why the Channel 4 game show was so brilliant.
1. Richard O'Brien was the perfect host
Whoever thought of picking Rocky Horror writer Richard O'Brien as host of this quirky game show is a TV genius. When picturing The Crystal Maze, O'Brien is most likely the first image that comes to mind; topped up to the nines with leopardskin fur coats and leather boots.

Dom Parker has suffered a suspected concussion during The Jump training.
The Gogglebox star was injured while tackling a ski cross course for the Channel 4 series, The Mirror reports.
The 49-year-old is currently resting while doctors monitor his condition and decide whether or not he can continue training.
The incident occurred yesterday (January 26) while he practised at Innsbruck in Austria.
Last year, both Sir Steve Redgrave and Marcus Brigstocke were forced to pull out of the show while training for the ski cross event.
A spokeswoman for the show said: "Dom hurt his shoulder and later showed signs of suspected concussion so was monitored and is now resting up."
Jodie Kidd has already been drafted in as a replacement for Sally Bercow, who was forced to pull out after fracturing two ribs during training.
Strictly Come Dancing professional Ola Jordan was also sidelined by injury, and has since been replaced by Chloe Madeley.

Welcome to Digital Spy's Weekly News Catchup, looking back at the biggest stories on the site over the past seven days.
For your consideration
Awards season kicked off properly this week, with the Oscar nominations and Golden Globe Awards (and Critics' Choice Awards).
Boyhood and The Grand Budapest Hotel were named the best films by the Globes judges and both picked up nods from the Academy a few days later.
'Dick Poop' got a surprise nomination at the Oscars, but incredibly The Lego Movie, Ava DuVernay, Mica Levi, David Oyelowo and Jake Gyllenhaal were all snubbed.
"You can create this stuff, George, but you sure can't direct it"
George Lucas didn't pick up an Academy nomination (or much love from the fans) when he directed the three Star Wars prequels.
He perhaps wisely handed over the reins to Jj Abrams for the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII, but this week...

We're sitting in the audience for the second day of filming on The Voice UK, and Educating Rita Ora is happening right in front of our eyes. You might think that her fellow coaches were giving her some tips about pressing her buzzer, or about what to say to the acts. But nope. It's Sir Tom Jones telling her about the movie Twins.
It's all because a pair of twins have auditioned for the show, but Ricky is horrified that Rita has never even heard of the Arnie/DeVito classic. "It's one of the greatest movies ever made," he gasps.
In other words, even though things can get pretty serious during the blind auditions, there's also time for a bit of joking around. That doesn't mean that newbie Rita isn't nervous, though - she looks seriously edgy during the agonisingly long gaps between singers - but host Emma Willis isn't worried about her.

Pretty much the first thing Digital Spy saw when making our way down the stairs to the Grand Room in London's Grosvenor House, location of the TV BAFTAs after-party, was Danny Dyer posing with a young boy as his dad took a picture, presumably making the little guy beam by complimenting his "lovely" mini tux.
That's the kind of event we're talking about here - an event where a star arguably still best known for playing violent, foul-mouthed British gangsters can take a moment to make some kid's night. Everyone was happy. Everyone was in a friendly mood. And everyone was ready to party.
But first, these people needed some food. Some hit the red carpet way back at 5pm after a good couple of hours of preparation, and then had to sit through an entire awards ceremony. If Claudia Winkleman displays half as much passion about Strictly as she did about dessert,...

Simon Cowell has branded Chris O'Dowd "ignorant" for accusing viewers of The X Factor of being racist.
Earlier today (February 11), it was revealed that O'Dowd had said that, although he is a "big fan" of the ITV talent show, "the viewing public is so racist, all the black, strong singers go out in round five every year".
However, Britain's Got Talent and returning X Factor judge SImon Cowell has now claimed that O'Dowd is "ignorant" and "insulting" for his comments.
"We are the least racist show you could possibly find in the world," he told Entertainmentwise. "So not only is he ignorant, it's actually insulting to hear him say that. And it's insulting to our audience."
"Alexandra Burke, Jls, Leona Lewis," he added, listing previous X Factor stars. "It's ridiculous."

Chris O'Dowd has accused X Factor viewers of being "racist".
The It Crowd actor has claimed that some fans of the ITV talent show appear to be prejudiced against black hopefuls.
O'Dowd told Radio Times: "I'm a big X Factor fan. Generally my favourites go out in the first few weeks and, of course, because the viewing public is so racist, all the black, strong singers go out in round five every year."
The X Factor has produced several black stars throughout its run, including winners Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke, and successful artists such as Jls and Rebecca Ferguson.
Producers of the show have dismissed O'Dowd's comments, with an insider stating: "The X Factor has a long standing record of celebrating a diverse range of artists including two former winners, Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke, and numerous others who have reached the final stages of the competition including this year's semi-finalists Rough Copy,...

New co-host of The Voice UK Marvin Humes has defended the show's track record of finding talent.
The Jls star said that he was "confident" the third series, which starts this week, would produce a star and argued that all TV talent shows require time to unearth great artists.
"If you think of The X Factor, it really struck gold in the third series with Leona Lewis, so you need to give a show of this scale breathing space," said Humes.
"I'm confident there will be stars produced from it this year."
The boyband singer also said that he believed one of last year's finalists would go to become a successful pop act.
"Leah McFall, who came second last year, is working with one of the best A&R guys in the country. I worked with him in Jls, so I've got no doubt she'll do well," he said.

Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh clashed after Tamera Foster was voted out of The X Factor.
Scherzinger - who mentored Foster in the competition - described her as a "star" on aftershow The Xtra Factor.
"No-one can take that from her," she said. "She's going to be the biggest star to come out of this show, and everybody knows it."
However, Walsh interrupted to praise his own act Luke Friend, who survived the sing-off, saying: "I think [Tamera's] good, but in the sing-off, Luke was amazing. He won the sing-off."
As Scherzinger hit back: "Are you still talking?", Walsh continued: "It's not all about you. You're last year's winner."
Walsh also interrupted Scherzinger as she was clarifying her claim that Rough Copy are the best X Factor group, repeatedly telling her that Jls were "amazing".
"Are you talking?" Scherzinger replied. "Stop talking."

The latest act to be eliminated from The X Factor has been revealed.
Hannah Barrett exited the show following a sing-off with Rough Copy. The result means that Tamera Foster is the last remaining contestant in Nicole Scherzinger's Girls category.
Hannah took on 'I'd Rather Go Blind' by Etta James in the sing-off, while Rough Copy performed Oasis's 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out'.
Scherzinger revealed that she was "furious" with the British public for putting Barrett in the bottom two for a third time. She chose to stand by her act and send home Rough Copy.
Gary Barlow and Sharon Osbourne applauded both acts for their performances, but each voted to send home Barrett.
Louis Walsh said that neither act should leave the competition as they remembered their lyrics, suggesting that he believed Tamera Foster should have been in the bottom two. He reluctantly voted to send Barrett home and sealed her fate.

Once upon a time, just ten nine years ago, The X Factor was something that you had to account for when hoping not to run into a former flame in a smoky club, One Direction was a mere geographical command and Wagner was still the guy who wrote this.

My favourite X Factor moment has to be 'Gummogate', a kerfuffle that saw Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh quarrelling over American independent cinema. Jamie Archer's rendition of 'Crying' during 2009's Movie Week (c'mon, Simon, have you *really* seen that film?) irked Louis so much he seemed to question the very existence of Harmony Korine's cult oddity. This all leads to the question... has Louis seen Spring Breakers?...

Ripper Street: 9pm on BBC One
This grizzly Victorian London period drama has flown under the radar with its second series, which is a little unfair because there's plenty to enjoy - not least the performances of Macfadyen, Flynn and Rothernberg.
The trio's latest adventure involves the escape of a convicted bomber and an attack believed to be the work of the Irish Republican Brotherhood. As always with Ripper Street, however, all is not what it seems.
Never Mind The Buzzcocks: 10pm on BBC Two
Buzzcocks' guest host format means that its quality varies hugely week to week. This week's man in the hot seat - Jack Whitehall - should make this week's show a must-see.
This week's guests include Razorlight frontman and indie joke figure Johnny Borrell, Jls's Aston Merrygold, Katy B and The Last Leg's Alex Brooker.

The latest act to be eliminated from The X Factor has been revealed.
Sam Callahan exited the show following a sing-off with Luke Friend. The result means that Boys mentor Louis Walsh has lost his first contestant of the series.
Sam took on 'Iris' by the Goo Goo Dolls in the sing-off, while Luke performed U2's 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For'.
Walsh chose not to participate in this week's vote as he did not want to choose between his acts.
Nicole Scherzinger opted to send home Callahan ahead of Friend. She threw a pen at Callahan and told him that she was "frustrated" that he left it too late to give a strong vocal performance.
Meanwhile, Gary Barlow explained that Friend is a "unique" and "brilliant act". He pointed out that Callahan's sing-off performance was his strongest of the entire competition, but chose to send him home.

Fiona Fullerton has been voted out of Strictly Come Dancing.
The 57-year-old, who was partnered with Anton du Beke on the BBC One dance show, became the seventh celebrity to leave the competition during tonight's (November 17) Blackpool special.
Fullerton and du Beke faced actor Mark Benton and his partner Iveta Lukosiute in the dance-off. It was Benton's second time in the bottom two and Fullerton's first.
Fullerton and Benton then danced again for judges Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood.
After the performances, Revel Horwood voted to save Fullerton, while Bussell and Tonioli chose to save Benton. Head judge Goodman had the casting vote, describing the decision as "very close" before choosing to send home Fullerton.
Of her experience on the show, Fullerton said: "It's been the most amazing trip. I can't thank you enough, or the producers at the BBC, for asking me to take part in this show.

Children in Need has raised over £31 million, surpassing last year's £26 million to mark its record total.
The annual BBC fundraiser, which has been running since 1980, featured performances from Doctor Who, Jls and the EastEnders cast.
Sir Terry Wogan presented the six-hour event, alongside Fearne Cotton, Tess Daly, Zoe Ball and Nick Grimshaw.
Before the show started, Wogan said: "Another year older and my childhood is almost ancient history, though memories from back then are very fond ones.
"I was lucky. Mine was a happy childhood but for many children in the UK, this isn't the case, which is why the BBC started Children in Need.
"Get involved. Go on, you know you want to. Together we can make 2013 our greatest year ever."
Stars of West End musical Matilda kicked off proceedings, before ice-skating legends Torvill and Dean took to the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor and were praised by head judge Len Goodman.
