President Donald Trump‘s use of Twitter has long been a controversial component of his presidency, for several reasons. One of them is his frequent hitting of the “block” button, which the president has unleashed on a number of notable actors, authors and activists who have used Twitter as a platform to criticize him and his administration.
On Tuesday, model Chrissy Teigen, voted one of Time’s 2017 “25 Most Influential People on the Internet,” was the latest to be blocked by the president.
Here’s a running list of people who have received the “@arealDonaldTrump blocked you” message on Twitter.

It’s hard to believe it but Diane Keaton is 71-years-old. She’s been entertaining audiences for nearly 50 years (got her start in 1970) and has gone from the cute and quirky Woody Allen movie-star to the smart and sophisticated “older woman” in the later years of her career. To celebrate her work in Hollywood Keaton will be getting a tribute from the American Film Institute which is about as big an honor as anyone can get. She recently stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about it but in the process revealed something to be quite sad. You’d think that

Update With Video Bill Maher tonight praised Jimmy Kimmel’s emotional monologue from earlier this week, saying it brought health care issues “into American living rooms.” But HBO’s Real Time host wasn’t so generous about Kimmel’s political savvy. On Monday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel tearfully shared news of his week-old son’s open-heart surgery, and decried Donald Trump’s proposed (and failed) $6 billion cut in funding to the National Institute of Health. Maher said he…...

Former Potus Barack Obama took to Twitter to comment ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel for ending his Monday monologue about his newborn son’s heart defect advocating for healthcare that protects those with pre-existing conditions. After speaking emotionally about the discovery of his son’s heart defects and open-heart surgery at 3 days old, Kimmel began talking about President Donald Trump’s proposed plan to slash by $6B the funding to the National Institute of…...

Jimmy Kimmel began his show on Monday with an emotional defense of the healthcare system after his son was born needing immediate open-heart surgery in April. The operation was a success, and the baby is now home safe.
But the harrowing experience led Kimmel to make a nonpartisan plea for equal access to good, affordable child healthcare. "If your baby is going to die, and it doesn't have to, it shouldn't matter how much money you make," Kimmel told the crowd. "Whether you're a Republican or a Democrat or something else,...

Burt Reynolds has seen both sides of America, and he stands at the center of a great divide. Shortly before Hillary Clinton announced her second presidential campaign, Reynolds joined her and Bill for a high school football game in Arkansas. The actor has deep roots in the state, where he’d shot the early ’90s show “Evening Shade” and the 1973 rural action drama “White Lightning.” In the audience with the Clintons, Reynolds found himself witnessing a very different country from the fast-paced world of entertainment figures and political pundits.
“Nobody paid much attention to us,” said Reynolds, 80, during a recent conversation in Key West, Florida. “It was a hell of a lot of fun. I love Bill. Mrs. Clinton and I had a lot of laughs. I had never that experience any place, before or since.” The crowd was respectful but ambivalent about the famous faces in the room. “It was important to them,...

Former governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night as part of his campaign to prevent Donald Trump from securing the Republican nomination.
While he was there, Kimmel forced Romney to read some of the mean tweets that have been directed at the 2012 Republican presidential nominee since he began speaking out against the reality star's bid.
The first, naturally, was from Trump himself.
Mitt Romney had his chance and blew it. Lindsey Graham ran for president, got Zero, and quit! Why are they now spokesmen against me?...

Though this year’s Noah turned a lot of heads and made more than a handful of viewers frustrated, be it for declining to use the word “God” or just including Rock Titan Angel things into a Biblical story, Darren Aronofsky still remains a highly valued director and ever rising auteur in Hollywood.
Aronofsky is currently working on MaddAddam for HBO, an adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s trilogy of dystopian sci-fi books. But The Playlist has done a little digging and determined that his next film could be based on the book The Good Nurse, written by Charles Graeber.
The Good Nurse is a non-fiction story of Charlie Cullen, a medical professional arrested in 2003 after it was discovered that he was responsible for the deaths of as many as 300 patients over the course of his long career, and quite possibly the most prolific serial killer in American history. Sundance Institute today announced the films and music acts that will headline the Sundance Next Fest summer festival August 7-10 in Los Angeles. Next Fest, headquartered at the Theatre at Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles, celebrates the intersection of film and music and the renegade spirit of independent artists. Tickets ($15-25) go on sale to Sundance Institute members today and all others tomorrow at sundance.org/next
In addition to a 10th Anniversary screening of "Napoleon Dynamite" with Cinespia at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery as the festival’s kickoff event on August 7, Next Fest will present the Los Angeles premieres of six films that first screened at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, and offer unfettered creativity and fresh perspectives. The program features a zombie love story, an Iranian-set vampire movie, a modern tale of buried treasure, a thriller about a mysterious soldier, and films that explore the perils of artistic ambition amongst gang life in Watts and the literary world of New York respectively.
Each film screens once at the Theatre at Ace Hotel August 8-10 and will be paired with either a special music act that shares a complementary artistic sensibility or conversations that bring together filmmakers with those who inspired them. The Sundance Film Festival programming staff selected the films and music acts for Next Fest.
The festival is an extension of the popular Next <=> section at the Sundance Film Festival, which showcases stylistically adventurous and bold films, and builds on the Institute’s Next Weekend event, hosted in 2013.
John Cooper , Director of the Sundance Film Festival, said, “Next Fest is a continuation of our efforts to connect film-loving audiences with the next generation of independent filmmakers. The unique convergence of film and music enhances the experience of each and offers fresh insight into the talent and vision of these outstanding independent artists.”
Trevor Groth , Director of Programming for the Sundance Film Festival, said, “In the heart of one of the most creative cities in the world, Next Fest will launch a new wave of film and music talent into the artistic atmosphere. The Theatre at Ace Hotel, with its roots in cinematic trailblazing, will serve as the ideal hub for this cultural adventure.”
Sundance Institute members have access to a host of benefits related to Next Fest, including the ability to purchase tickets today, before they go on sale to the general public tomorrow. At the August 7 screening with Cinespia at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, members will enjoy a reserved seating section and receive an exclusive tote bag, screenprinted live at the event by Hit + Run. Members are also invited to a special party during Next Fest and are eligible to win a prize package including a three-night stay at the Ace Hotel plus airfare. For more information visit Here

Hillary Clinton was delivering a speech at the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries in Las Vegas on Thursday when a shoe came flying at her head from the audience.
Clinton managed to dodge the projectile footwear and have a laugh about it. Initially, Clinton thought it could have been a bat, but then realized she was someone's intended target. “That’s somebody throwing something at me?” Clinton asked. “Is that part of Cirque du Soleil?”
“My goodness, I didn't know solid waste management was so controversial," she added, quipping, "Thank goodness she didn't play softball like I did."
Following the incident, the unidentified woman was taken into custody. The secret service said that she had not been among the roughly 1,000 ticketed guests and had somehow managed to get through hotel security, reported CNN. It has not been revealed what the woman was protesting.

We’ve seen a lot of protest ads for gay rights during this Olympic Games thanks to the unbearable laws in Russia, but few have gotten the press of the one from the Canadian Institute of Diversity and Inclusion. They used the Olympic luge event to demonstrate how “gay” the Olympic games are.
Now Canadians lugers have had a sense of humor about this, but American lugers can’t seem to take a joke.
American Christian Niccumm specifically complained about Jimmy Kimmel mocking his sport, and now Jimmy has responded with possible ways that the sport could seem less gay, helpfully illustrated by the least gay visual aid possible, a couple of Ken dolls. He thinks it could be a matter of the position the lugers use, and offers up some alternatives, which happen to be some of my own personal favorites.

Arcata, Calif. — Humboldt State University in California has invited Jimmy Kimmel to deliver the school's commencement address after he joked about its marijuana research program.
The host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" devoted a segment of his late-night show to poking fun at the new academic program, which the university says is probably the first dedicated to examining marijuana through the lens of disciplines such as geography, politics and economics.
"They will probably just end up playing Ultimate Frisbee or something," Kimmel dead-panned during the bit that aired in late November, after the university first publicized the Humboldt Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research.
The sketch also included a faux recruiting commercial saying students who attended could look forward to low-pressure careers such as dog walking, organizing drum circles and occupying Wall Street. Kimmel joked that the program would probably make getting into Humboldt more competitive than Yale.

Don Rickles told a racial joke Thursday night at the American Film Institute’s tribute to Shirley MacLaine that may have been more appropriate half a century ago at the Friar's Club. This time, though, the object of Rickles' mockery wasn't Sammy Davis Jr. -- but the first African-American President of the United States.
"I shouldn’t make fun of the blacks," Rickles, 86, said according to The Hollywood Reporter. "President Obama is a personal friend of mine. He was over to the house yesterday, but the mop broke."
Like many comedians of his generation, Rickles' act has long included racial humor that would be considered unacceptable to today's audiences. But as race relations evolved, it became rarer and rarer for comedians like Rickles to include such jokes in their act.
This was not the first times Rickles did material about Obama that made audiences squeamish. Right after Obama...
