“Sas: Red Notice,” the action thriller from director Laurence Malkin that became a hit for U.K. platform Sky Cinema in 2021, is getting a sequel.
Creative details are currently under wraps, but development funding for the sequel was provided by Sky Original Films and the film will be executive produced by Sky’s director of original film, Julia Stuart. Sky will co-finance and take all rights for the U.K. and Ireland. Production financing will come from Ashland Hill Media Finance, led by Joe Simpson, Simon Williams, and Jonathan Bross.

A Few Less Men, the sequel to Stephan Elliott's 2011 comedy A Few Best Men, was helmed by Mark Lamprell, the screenwriter of Babe: Pig in the City and director of 2000's My Mother Frank and 2013's Goddess.
Lamprell came on board after reading the script by Dean Craig (Death at a Funeral), who wrote the original film.
"It was lovely working on somebody else's screenplay because it was a really solid screenplay structurally," Lamprell said. "I could see that there was a really good movie in there. Dean's a very accomplished writer. The whole guts of it were laid out before me.".
Lamprell, who got his start at Kennedy Miller making Bts documentaries such as The Making of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985), describes A Few Less Men as "a silly comedy.".
"It's not high-brow wit.

Kriv Stenders' Kill Me Three Times may well have had a .boisterously enthusiastic reception. at its Toronto International Film Festival premiere, as The Sydney Morning Herald reported last week.
However the critics in Toronto were far from unanimous in their judgments on the comedy-thriller that stars Simon Pegg as an assassin who encounters a group of increasingly violent locals who carry their own dark secrets.
Sullivan Stapleton, Teresa Palmer, Callan Mulvey, Luke Hemsworth, Alice Braga and Bryan Brown co-star in the film scripted by James McFarland and produced by Laurence Malkin, Share Stallings, Tania Chambers. EOne, which will release the film in Australia next year, hasn.t revealed the launch date.
The pro- camp saw a very funny, cleverly plotted and crowd-pleasing film that subverts expectations.
The anti- brigade saw a mediocre, derivative crime potboiler.
Stenders and Chambers understandably are keen to stress the Tiff audiences. reactions and the positive reviews.

An Australian film that was originally set to be directed by Wolf Creek's Greg McLean, Kill Me Three Times, got a makeover when it was announced back in May that Red Dog director Kriv Stenders would be helming the project.
Along with that came the exciting news that Shaun of the Dead's Simon Pegg had signed on to star, and today we've got your first look at Pegg in the film. You'll find it below!
The action is set in a sun-drenched Australian town where a young woman is the link between murder, blackmail, and revenge.
Tania Chambers, Laurence Malkin, and Share Stallings produce the project, which was shot in Western Australia. Hopscotch / eOne will distribute in Australia and New Zealand.

Screen Australia says it has not mismanaged its finances by spending its annual production funding in just six months - a state of affairs which it says reflects the strength of the local film industry.
The government screen agency revealed in mid-December 2012 that it had spent its entire annual $42 million drama production allocation due to the unprecedented number of quality feature film and television projects seeking support. The shock announcement was reminiscent of the agency's abrupt decision to cut its investment cap in 2009 while several films were mid-financed. That decision.threw several major Australian productions into dissaray including The Tree and the biggest box office hit of.2010, Tomorrow When the War Began (Omnilab Media had to increase its investment at the last minute to ensure production).
Overspending on such a scale has never occurred before, even going back to the era of Screen Australia.s predecessor funding arm, the Film Finance Corporation.

With the "Wolf Creek" sequel in limbo with legal issues, filmmaker Greg McLean is turning his attention elsewhere - namely a new Aussie thriller with some impressive local talent.
Having scored Sam Worthington and Radha Mitchell for his last outing "Rogue", McLean has now landed "W.E." actress Abbie Cornish along with "Animal Kingdom" stars Ben Mendelsohn and Sullivan Stapleton for his new project "Kill Me Three Times" says Screen Daily (via The Playlist).
Alice Braga stars as a young woman who is the common link in three tales of murder, blackmail and revenge within the surfing town of Eagle's Nest.
Larry Malkin, Tania Chambers and Share Stallings will produce and shooting aims to kick off later this year.

Greg Mclean didn't exactly replicate the success of his break-out horror flick "Wolf Creek" with croc-thriller follow-up "Rogue." And while it seemed he was set to shoot a sequel to "Wolf Creek" early this year, legal troubles have since delayed the production, with no end in sight. The delay, however, might just be a blessing in disguise, with the helmer now set to tackle a new Australian thriller with an exciting cast in tow.
ScreenDaily reports that international pre-sales will begin in Cannes this month for McLean's "Kill Me Three Times," a thriller that will star Alice Braga alongside the in-demand trio of Abbie Cornish, Ben Mendelsohn and Sullivan Stapleton -- the last two, of course, reuniting from their time playing brothers in David Michod's "Animal Kingdom."

- You’ve got to admit – making an English language remake of an English language film doesn’t make much sense especially when we’ve just seen the film. Much like how studios quickly grab remake rights to Korean horror films and swiftly make a go at taking a chunk of the box office, Screen Gems and Sidney Kimmel Ent. are banking on the notion that if the source material needs a bit more translating in order to appease U.S viewers then why wait a second more? Frank Oz’s 2007 version of Death at a Funeral actually had a great run during film festival season – often picking up audience awards for its laugh-out-loud comedy of manners – but the MGM release never really amounted to what could have easily have been The Full Monty-type numbers. Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Sony's Screen Gems are partnering with Chris Rock for an urban reworking of the 2007 British comedy "Death at a Funeral."
Rock will produce, star and co-write the script with Aeysha Carr.
The project is inspired by Ske's 2007 feature, which was written by Dean Craig and directed by Frank Oz. That film made for about $9 million and released by MGM in the U.S., grossed $8.5 million stateside and $46.5 million worldwide.
Sidney Kimmel, Share Stallings and Laurence Malkin are returning to produce the new version.
William Horberg, who served as executive producer for the 2007 version, also is on board to produce under the terms of the first-look arrangement he struck with Ske when he left the company as its production chief.
The ensemble comedy will take place in an urban American setting and centers on a funeral ceremony that devolves into a debacle of misplaced cadavers, indecent exposure and family secrets.
