Still not over last night's Oscar beauty looks? Um, how could you be?! We're so obsessed we spent all day recreating the top hair and makeup combos from the 2016 Academy Awards. Well, with a little help, that is. We recruited Frédéric Fekkai Creative Director, David Pierre Pappalardo, and Nars International Lead Makeup Stylist, Uzo, to duplicate the glam looks seen on Kerry Washington, Alicia Vikander and more leading ladies. Oh, and the best part? Because we know we live in a tl;dr society (or should we say too long; didn't watch) all five transformations take place in just one minute. How'd we pull that off? The aspiring models realize the competition will be intense when they find themselves parading about in their underwear in the middle of Manhattan.
On the opening episode of the second season of Oxygen's "The Face," airing Wednesday, March 5, aspiring contestants strut down a catwalk in Bryant Park wearing black bras and panties while model coaches -- Naomi Campbell, Lydia Hearst and Anne V -- select hopefuls for their teams.
"There is a lot that you try to teach these girls in a very limited amount of time," Hearst tells Zap2it. "I want them to understand it is a very difficult and fickle industry, and you have to be willing to grow and challenge yourself and step outside your comfort zone. Nothing is truly personal. You have to have thick skin. You have to be willing to change your hair color."

Having spent 17 cycles as a judge and photographer on America’s Next Top Model, Nigel Barker understands what makes a modeling show compelling. But even he had no idea when he left Antm to host Naomi Campbell’s The Face how quickly that series would become a worldwide sensation, too, with Campbell helming British and Australian versions, and an international field of hopefuls auditioning for Season 2. This time, Barker will also serve as confidant to the 12 “modeltestants” vying to become the face of Frédéric Fekkai’s 2014 ad campaign — a role he says allows him to ask the same questions viewers would and … Continue reading →

And unlike many of the more intricate hairstyles at fashion week (like the forehead-grazing braids at Creatures of the Wind), [...]...

Carly Rae celebrated New Year’s Eve by performing in Times Square in New York City. Her signature blunt bangs came all the way down to her eyes, narrowing the frame of her face. K-Stew debuted sexy, textured undone hair for the show! Here's how to get the look straight from her hairstylist! Kristen Stewart wore windswept, bed-head strands created by hairstylist, Adir Abergel for Frederic Fekkai to the show on June 3. His inspiration, 'grunge rock and roll meets retro punk.' Kristen, 22, looked edgy and sultry. You can translate the style for day or night and is great for summer since it works with your natural texture. To get K-Stew's sexy style, on wet hair, Adir applied a fist full of Fekkai Coiff Strong Hold Volume Mousse all over the roots. He then rough dried the hair using only his hands to create texture. He then separated the hair into sections and used a 1/2-inch curling iron to curl each section from roots to ends. He separated the curls using his fingers and side swept the top of the hair to create an undone side part.

For instance, it would be vain and unimaginable to not be fully stocked on Diet Cokes at any given photo shoot for fear of bloating. It would also be vain and unimaginable to wake up to a huge pimple the morning of your big movie premiere and not be able to fully conceal it and it would most certainly be vain and unimaginable to run out of individual eye lashes while getting someone ready for their red carpet event...

No, celebrities don't actually eat. But they do Love having their picture taken. A lot! So celebs will flock to those restaurants where the paparazzi are usually swarming. It's a safe bet that you can run into a star at The Ivy (113 N Robertson Blvd; +1 310 274 8303), Toast (8221 West 3rd Street; +1 323 655 5018, toastbakerycafe.net) or Joan's On 3rd (8350 West Third Street; +1 323 655 2285, joansonthird.com). Those are the top three "Look At Me" restaurants, but they're not even the best! My favourite eatery in Los Angeles is José Andrés's The Bazaar (465 South La Cienega Blvd; +1 310 246 5555, thebazaar.com), which specialises in tapas done with a molecular-gastronomy twist.

Frederic Fekkai signing the register of Ordre National du Merite. By Stephane Feugere. On November 16, Monsieur Frederic Fekkai, a name that most people recognize even if you’re not in the hair industry, was honored by the French government and was elevated to the ranks of Knight of the Order of Merit (Chevalier dans L’Ordre du Merite) in Paris, France. What is the Knight of the Order of Merit, you might ask? Well, the French National Order of Merit, an honor awarded by the president of France, was founded on December 3, 1963, by President Charles de Gaulle to honor French nationals as well as nationals of foreign countries, men and women, to recognize them for their distinguished civil and military achievements. And if there’s one Frenchman that was rightfully recognized, it’s Frederic Fekkai. Other past recipients of the order of merit include Pierre Cardin and Christian Lacroix. Fekkai...

Hey, Answer B!tch, I just saw a 22-year-old at Trader Joe's wearing the Justin Bieber haircut. Is that a do or don't? —Freaq, via A.B. inbox Mesmerizing as that haircut is, it's just not meant for folks who have already taken their PSATs, much earned BA degrees. Listen: "The shape is universally ageless, but to make the look more mature it should be cut a little longer with diminished layers," says Fabrice Gili, national creative director for the Frederic Fekkai hair empire. Ditto, says John Francis of the McMillan and Canale salon. In fact, he suspects, Bieber himself is about old enough to have outgrown that haircut. "I think he'll be changing his own...

Kristen Stewart is rocking her new extensions in this high pony. Here’s how you can too!
Eclipse star Kristen Stewart showed off her brand new extensions in another cute ponytail at the MTV Movie Awards on June 6. I wanted “a sleek and edgy high ponytail with added movement,” says Frederic Fekkai celebrity hair stylist Adir Abergel who created Kristen’s red carpet look. Adir started Kristen’s pony by applying Fekkai Full Blown Volume Styling Whip all over her wet hair. He then dried her tresses using his hands, not a brush, to create even more volume. To give Kristen’s hair more movement, Adir curled the top sections of her head with a one-inch curling iron, finishing them off with Fekkai Beach Waves spray to make the curls loose, not ringlet-like. He then pulled the hair into a high ponytail and secured with a piece of...

Andy Spade and Mickey Drexler at the J. Crew Teach for America event. From PatrickMcMullan.com. On Wednesday night in New York City, J. Crew marked Teach for America week by opening up its Flatiron District store to the nonprofit’s teaching corps for a night of preppy cocktails and shopping. Guests included Caroline Kennedy, J. Crew C.E.O. Mickey Drexler, hair guru Frédéric Fekkai, and Teen Vogue editor Amy Astley, all of whom, this week, called themselves teachers. In celebration of the 20-year-old nonprofit, the volunteers took the reins in classrooms across the city, giving public-school students exposure to New York’s industry leaders. Drexler learned firsthand just how much of an impact a high-profile speaker can have on a child when he met Eleanor Roosevelt one day at his Bronx high school. “I was a freshman, and she was the first famous, notable person I’d ever seen in my life,...

Jerry Weintraub signing his book in the “big room.” Photograph by Justin Bishop. “I’m going into the big room,” TV host Jimmy Fallon was overheard saying to actor Matthew Broderick last night as the pair left the quaint bar area at the Monkey Bar, in New York City, and headed toward the restaurant’s dining room. But Fallon was likely referring less to square footage and more to star wattage; after all, among the many power players mingling there were broadcast journalist Barbara Walters, singer Bette Midler, CBS bigwig Les Moonves, NBC producer Lorne Michaels, business mogul Tom Freston, hair mogul Frédéric Fekkai, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, CNBC Money Honey Maria Bartiromo, fashion designers Tory Burch and Stacey Bendet, and New York Times columnist Frank Rich.

The ambiance at the A.B.T. cocktail party. From PatrickMcMullan.com. The American Ballet Theatre hosted members of Manhattan’s elite last week for a cocktail party honoring Alex Ewing’s Bravura!, a book about the life of Lucia Chase, mother of the American ballet. Held at the Vbh boutique on New York’s Upper East Side, the party was as choreographed as the final scene of Swan Lake. As the melodious sound of violins and cellos reverberated off the lofty, cathedral-high ceilings of the Madison Avenue venue, elegant guests discussed holiday plans and sipped on flutes of Tattinger. Still suffering from a soccer injury he incurred last year, hairstylist to the stars Frédéric Fekkai made himself comfortable on a plush white sofa, elevating his ailing leg and chatting with woman-about-town Muffie Potter Aston. Nearby was Frédéric Malle, whose boutique, Editions de Parfums, recently opened a few blocks away.

The 30-minute hosted web series features Ettus, a bestselling author and co-creator of Obsessed TV, interviewing celebrities and other interesting people she finds captivating. She casts a pretty wide net in terms of who she sits down for her one-on-ones with—TV weatherman Al Roker, NY Jets running back Thomas Jones and designer Frederic Fekkai.
