In 2017, I ended my marriage of almost 12 years. It wasn’t one big betrayal. No one was a villain, not really. What happened was the oppressive weight of being a wife and mother and the burden of heterosexual marriage broke me. Three years later, in 2020, I realized I wasn’t alone. That the cultural weight of society keeps slipping onto the shoulders of mothers and wives. We are breaking. My book This American Ex Wife examines the way marriage is inherently unequal, and the way our culture defines love as misery,...

Chloë Grace Moretz would reprise her classic role of Mindy McCready, aka Hit-Girl in a third Kick-Ass film — but the situation would have to be “perfect.”
The actress on Tuesday dropped by The Tonight Show and while there, host Jimmy Fallon asked if there was any truth to the rumors that a third Kick-Ass was in development.
Moretz remained a bit cagey, not sharing what she knew, but Moretz did tell Fallon she would love to play Hit-Girl one more time; the role that made the already established actress a star when she was 13.

Painter, poet and musician Joni Mitchell turns 75 years old today. Her artistry has encompassed pop, rock, folk and jazz, earning varying degrees of praise and criticism, especially for her more experimental, jazz-centric works, but she remains, unquestionably, one of the most influential songwriters of the past 50 years.

Hit-girl Will Wage Bloody War on Hollywood Predators Thanks To Kevin Smith and Here's Our First Look
Mark Millar's foul-mouthed ultra violent badass hero Hit-Girl is headed to Hollywood in a new comic mini-series written by Kevin Smith and she is going to wage bloody war on its sexual predators. The four-issue mini-series comic is called Hit Girl: The Golden Rage of Hollywood and thanks to Deadline, we have our first look and details!
The story finds the justice-seeking adolescent super-assassin storm movie sets and wage war on Hollywood predators — a story that couldn’t be any more timely. The title is set to launch in January 2019. The new series will feature some familiar faces from the original Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl series by Millar and John Romita Jr., and each issue is a tribute to a different era of American cinema.
Sounds like it's going to be a great series that is totally relevant to what is happening in Hollywood right now and there's no doubt...

Exclusive: Hollywood predators beware! Hit-Girl is coming for you. Mark Millar unveiled the first cover and details of Kevin Smith’s Hit Girl: The Golden Rage of Hollywood.
Popularized by Chloë Grace Moretz’s portrayal of the uber-violent, ass-kicking heroine in Matthew Vaughn’s movie adaptations of Mark Millar’s Kick-Ass comic books, 12-year old Hit Girl is a bloodthirsty hero who knows how to use a blade and isn’t afraid to drop an F-bomb or two. In The Golden Rage of Hollywood, Smith writes a new adventure with art from Pernille Orum that takes place in modern-day Tinsel Town. The cover, which can be seen below, was drawn by artist Francesco Francavilla.

Director Matthew Vaughn and his newfound production banner, Marv Studios, have announced plans for a third Kick-Ass movie designed to reboot the titular teen – not unlike how Mark Millar continues to evolve the character in the original comics.
Word comes by way of Empire, where Vaughn peeled back the curtain on Marv Studios and its three new projects: a Kingsman universe, the long-rumored Hit-Girl spinoff, and Kick-Ass 3, which will herald the return of our crimefighting hero after almost five years spent in the shadows. Just don’t be fooled into thinking that Aaron-Taylor Johnson is about to suit up as Dave Lizewski once more.
That’s because Vaughn’s Kick-Ass reboot hopes to bring a clean slate to the cult action series, and, as Empire points out, the director “does strongly hint that Patience Lee, an African-American single mother who’s taken on the vigilante mantle, could be in the frame.

When Kick-Ass was introduced to the world by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. not only were we introduced to that him as a character, but more importantly Hit-Girl. Dave Lizewski aka Kick Ass wasn’t a real superhero, Hit-Girl was, and she made Kick-Ass into everything he was destined to be. Now we are at Kick-Ass 3 is Dave finally a fully fledged superhero, or still a comic book obsessed wannabe?
Kick-Ass 3 starts with a shocker, Hit-Girl is arrested and stuck in a maximum security jail. Leaving instructions for Kick-Ass on how to break her out she waits for the day he finally rescues her. The only problem is he has other things on his mind, mainly a new girlfriend and the Justice Forever team which is fragmenting, and his focus is on everything but being a superhero.

Nb: This interview contains a bit of swearing.

As the dozens of extras exit the sound stage, we take a look around at the oppulent space around us for the first time; this is the lair of Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s villain, and as you might expect from a young, slightly sociopathic comic book villain, it’s packed full of expensive cars, arcade machines, plush furniture, a bar, and somewhat incongruously (if you haven’t read Mark Millar’s source comic), there’s a gigantic water tank with a dead shark in it.

As Comic Book Movie reports, the latest issue of Movie Magic magazine contains a fairly extensive interview with "Kick-Ass 2" star Chloe Grace Moretz and director Jeff Wadlow about the evolution of her character, Hit-Girl.
"The obvious difference is that I'm older now, and the difference between 11 and 15, which is how old I was when we finished, is that you're a different person, obviously," Moretz reveals. "You're calculating more ideas, you're experiencing more things in your own life, you're not just living through other people's eyes, you're making your own decisions."
The next chapter in Mindy McCready's life also comes as a direct response to the previous one (also known as 2010's "Kick-Ass"), and that chapter doesn't read the same way this time around.
"Here's this little girl who is basically raised to be an assassin by this man who is insane," director Jeff Wadlow explains.

If VH1 does another edition of "Celebrity Rehab," it will do so without Dr. Drew Pinsky.
In an interview on the Zach Sang and the Gang radio show, Pinsky says he doesn't "have any plans to do that again," largely because of the stress of the job.
"I'm tired of taking all the heat -- it's just ridiculous," Pinsky says (the full interview is here; "Celebrity Rehab" talk starts about eight minutes in). "These are burdensome patients that I follow for long periods of time -- we're still kind of treating the rehab patients form last year. We treat them for a good six, nine months. ... These are really sick people. That's why they die."
Five patients who have appeared on "Celebrity Rehab" have subsequently died, most recently country singer Mindy McCready earlier this year. Pinsky said at the time that he was no longer treating McCready.

In a recent radio interview, Dr. Drew Pinsky said he doesn’t plan on participating in any more Celebrity Rehab, following the death of five former cast members — most recently country star Mindy McCready earlier this year.

Rodney King has a heart attack and I take blame for that?...

The beloved musician, who was hailed a hero at the age of 23 when he won the International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow at the height of the cold war, died on Feb. 28 after battling bone cancer.
Van Cilburn, a beloved American pianist, died at the age of 78 after losing his battle with bone cancer. The musician gained worldwide recognition after winning first place in the International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in 1958 when he was just 23 years old.
Van, who won the competition in Moscow at the height of the Cold War, became a symbol of defeat over the Soviet Union during the war. His performance at the competition was received by an eight-minute standing ovation. At the event, the judges had to reportedly ask Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev if they could give the first place prize to an American.
“Is he the best?” Khrushchev reportedly said, according to the Washington Post.
