Vernic -- Christopher Cazenove is Vernic, the leader of the department who has lost the plot, in what could probably be any boardroom meeting. "Vernic" is a student film animated by David Bunting on Bournemouth University's Computer Animation MA programme. To support the surreal feel David wanted for "Verinc", everything was designed to make it appear animated using old-fashioned stop motion techniques, enhanced by rendering the animation on 2's. Character and set models were made to look like they were created using a mixture of 3D and 2D elements .The lighting took cues from the Film-noir film genre and was rendered in High Dynamic Range to stop the very bright and very dark colours reaching white or black. It also allowed Technical Director Jonathan Davies to create a camera halo effect from very bright areas of the scene - such as Vernic' head. Finally, the animation was given an aged look by de-saturating the colours and adding, grain, flicker and projector jitter. The Disappearance of Alice Creed -- Two men fortify a nondescript British apartment so it can serve as a prison, and then kidnap a woman and tie her to a bed. Before there's even time to react, we're plunged into a very nasty situation, but not a simple one.
