“Scream VI” (now in theaters) is arguably the most Easter egg-filled installment in the horror franchise, which is really saying something.
There are the costumes the Halloween revelers are wearing on the subway, the “shrine” to Ghostface’s previous murders, even the inclusion of Hayden Panettiere as legacy character Kirby Reed. They all serve as meaningful cultural references. But there’s one cameo that eagle-eyed viewers (and listeners) might have missed. Thankfully directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are here to clue you in. (Minor spoilers follow.)
While talking all things “Scream VI” with TheWrap (look for more from our chat soon), Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett shared that “I Think You Should Leave” mastermind Tim Robinson has a vocal cameo in the slasher sequel. But where can you spot the “Coffin Flops” apologist?

Variety is reporting that Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin have both been confirmed to star in Scream 4. In that same article we reported that Ashley Green was possibly going to play Jill, the cousin to Sydney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and future heroine of the new series.

Their Hollywood Hills house is decorated with expensive contemporary art and, in general, their lifestyle offers the comforts and diversions great wealth makes possible, but Peter and Katherine Witner are self-destructing both as a couple and, in some ways, individually. Seeking comfort and direction from their multicultural, seriously spiritual crowd of friends, Peter and Katherine attempt to turn the crisis in their lives into an opportunity.
Smart and entertaining, featuring outstanding performances from leads Peter Weller and Judy Davis, writer-director Michael Tolkin's "The New Age" was unveiled over the weekend at Telluride. The Warner Bros. release opens Sept. 16 in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto. Sophisticated urbanites will find plenty to chew on, and Tolkin's rep in the wake of "The Player" should help draw hefty crowds in limited situations.
By no means a broad satire of the emotionally and spiritually bereft environment that breeds the ners, "The New Age" nonetheless works in plenty of subtle jabs at interpersonal relationships based on analyzing one's pain and knowing when and when not to open up the checkbook for a friend. Jobless and facing financial meltdown, Peter (Weller) and Katherine (Davis) open a ritzy boutique on Melrose while stumbling through a mutual estrangement that still leaves them living in the same house and becoming co-shop owners.
Meanwhile, through new sex partners and experiencing such New Age moments as the ritual suicide of a friend dying of AIDS, Peter and Katherine make half-hearted attempts to forge new lives.
Davis comes through with another great performance and could be rewarded with her second best actress Oscar nomination. Weller, who has never been better, is likewise deserving of consideration for post-season honors.
Tolkin's vision is strongest when he concentrates on showing the jumbled inner lives of the characters by putting them in situations that would unhinge more balanced personalities.
Tolkin works wonders with a small budget ($7 million). The production looks great and all technical aspects are top-drawer.
