Ever since Diego Luna initially showcased his talent as Cassian Andor in the Star Wars lore in the mid-2010s, fans have been nothing short of perplexed by his star-studded performances. Then came his titular solo show for his character by showrunner Tony Gilroy, and fans just knew for sure that they had found the most immaculate actor to join and lead the live-action Sw saga.

But while that was that, Luna is once again winning hearts through his personal take on his character that he connects with showrunner Gilroy about, and how he should be portrayed on the screens. And, unarguably enough, his remarks on the same make him everything one needs to become the ultimate perfect heir to George Lucas’ legacy.

Hayden Christensen is a widespread name in pop culture for his role as Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise. He featured in the second and the third installments of the Prequel Trilogy Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith before returning to his role in the Disney+ Star Wars shows Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka.
The Prequel Trilogy focused on Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker’s slow descent into the dark side until he ultimately becomes Darth Vader. Although the actor did a lot to make his performance as iconic as possible, Christensen’s work always resulted in a mixed reception among critics and fans.

George Lucas Gives Obi-Wan Kenobi Series His Seal of Approval - Main Image
George Lucas may have handed the reins of Star Wars to Disney, but the creator of one of the biggest science-fiction franchises in existence has apparently still been keeping up with what's happening in a galaxy far, far away.

Put down that notebook, grab your tap-dancing shoes, and saddle up because we're about to break down why one of Hollywood's most prominent leading men is more than Kenough.
In his thirty years as an actor, Ryan Gosling has amassed a total of 107 award nominations and 40 wins. No small feat, considering he's been known to take multiple years-long breaks in his line of work.
Having cemented a career with roles ranging from comedy to thriller to action, Gosling is not one to limit himself. As Roger Ebert said, Ryan "proves he's one of the finest actors in contemporary movies."
Starting at a young age, Gosling managed to sidestep the drama that has plagued many notable child stars in Hollywood's history.
The actor likely saw the downfall of fellow industry peers and prioritized his mental health to avoid such pitfalls.
Whatever the case, Ryan has also made a name for himself...

The Star Wars prequel trilogy revolutionized the film industry with its introduction of more CGI visual effects and digital photography. The second episode of the trilogy Episode II – Attack of the Clones was one of the first films to be completely shot digitally as opposed to film, leading Hollywood into the digital age of filmmaking.
The films starred Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ewan McGregor, and Natalie Portman in lead roles. The film was one of Portman’s earliest roles where she played the role of Padmé Amidala. She reprised the role in all three films and reportedly had a tough time acting for the blue and green screens present on set.

Veteran actor Ewan McGregor is known for portraying the character of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the iconic Star Wars franchise since 1999. Starring alongside numerous actors and their characters, McGregor had one heck of a time shooting the Star Wars films.
However, it wasn’t all fun and games since McGregor revealed that he had to shoot against blue/green screens for the CGI. Being a relatively new technology during the early 2000s, McGregor differed from his co-star Natalie Portman’s views on the topic of blue screen acting.

Natalie Portman is one of the most recognized faces in the world. Such an achievement does not come easy, and it is safe to assume that she worked very hard to get to where she is today. The actress has been a part of some extremely successful projects, having important roles in two of the biggest franchises of all time and having three Oscar nominations to her name.

Pretty much every single movie that George Lucas helmed from his Star Wars lore has been received with the utmost critical commendation from fans and critics worldwide. Needless to say, the mastermind has been bold with his works to the core, without hesitating to deliver the perfect blow to the viewers. Perhaps this was exactly why he was skeptical about one film that opted otherwise.

But what’s surprising is that this one particular film was one that actually went on to set the records for being the highest-grossing movie of all time from the film franchise: The Force Awakens from 2015. And making everything even more complex was Lucas, who initially delivered thoroughly harsh criticism of the movie before landing his final verdict claiming that fans would actually ‘love it.’

Even for a die-hard Star Wars fan like Ewan McGregor, the weight of carrying the franchise and one of its leading IPs can get a bit too much for his temperament. The legendary Jedi Master has had his fair share of troubles and hardships to overcome until his protégé Anakin Skywalker transformed into Darth Vader. A soul-crushing experience such as that one equated to a betrayal of everything he valued and reflected an utter failure on his part to save his friend from the Dark Side of the Force.

“Bring the clown. We want to see the clown. We like it how he juggles glombo shells, or spits fish up in the air and catches them, or how he dances around and falls on his butt.” So demand the orphan children on the planet Naboo, according to an interlude in the post-Return of the Jedi novel Aftermath: Empire’s End by Chuck Wendig.
And the clown acquiesces, happy to find any form of acceptance. “The adults, though,” continues the narrator, “they don’t say much about him. Or to him. And no other Gungans come to see him, either. Nobody even says his name.”

The Star Wars saga is pretty perfect just the way it is, and perhaps no die-hard fan would argue otherwise. But what if things didn’t end the way they did? What if some characters faced wildly different ends than what was originally penned down for them, like Anakin Skywalker, for instance? Well, one game on the lore seems to set that perfect alternate ending for Darth Vader.
The Star Wars Universe.
This game is none other than the Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith video game, which quite literally has an alternate point of view to Anakin’s fate at the end of this story. As opposed to the one seen in the movies, this one sees Vader go full-blown evil and kill Obi-Wan Kenobi instead of letting him leave him on the lava shore, and fans just seem to love it.

Charlie Hunnam partially owes his prominence to some big sci-fi projects like Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim or Netflix’s recent hit Rebel Moon directed by Zack Snyder, but it turns out that years ago he could’ve landed another iconic sci-fi role — and missed it out in the nick of time.
In his recent interview with Variety the actor revealed that back in the 2000s he was one of the finalists for the role of Anakin Skywalker in George Lucas’s epic space opera franchise Star Wars.
Hunnam had quite strong competitors as Lucas was aware of the significance of Anakin’s role in the movies and thus wanted to give it to someone who already proved himself in Hollywood.

Star Wars is a franchise that has been entertaining audiences since the late 1970s. Created by George Lucas, the first movie, Episode IV: A New Hope starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford in the lead, went on to gain massive success. The sci-fi genre found a new home in a galaxy far, far away, and fans clamored to their nearest theatres to enjoy an experience like never before.
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
After the original trilogy, which ran from 1977 to 1983, Lucas came back with the prequel trilogy, which he wrote and directed himself after a 22-year hiatus.
It started with Episode I: The Phantom Menace, which came out in 1999, but this time with a different set of actors. Although the idea for the prequel trilogy had already formed in the creator’s mind before the trilogy was even released, he only revived it after the...

Known for his work on several Star Wars projects, Dave Filoni has become a key figure in shaping the space opera. Starting with his work on animated projects such as The Clone Wars and Rebels, he has also ventured into live-action projects The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, and has since assumed the role of chief creative officer at Lucasfilm.

However, when he initially received a call with an offer to work with Lucasfilm Animation, Filoni’s skepticism nearly caused him to overlook the opportunity, as he refused to believe that Lucasfilm Animation even existed and that the offer was potentially a prank.

Ryan Gosling may be everyone’s favorite Ken right now, but even back in the day there were some people who didn’t see the actor’s potential male lead — and it has to do with the movie that brought Gosling to the place where he currently is.
In 2004 Ryan Gosling rose to exorbitant prominence after starring in the romantic drama The Notebook alongside Rachel McAdams. Based on Nicholas Sparks’ book of the same name, the film follows the elderly couple of Noah and Alison Calhoun who spend the rest of their days in a modern-day nursing home.
The main dramatical twist of the whole story is that Alison suffers from dementia and doesn’t even recognise her husband and visiting children, thus Noah chooses to read her a romantic novel that recounts their love story.

“Obi-Wan. Now, that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time… A long time.” Every Star Wars fan recognizes that line as one of the first things that the great Sir Alec Guinness says as Obi-Wan Kenobi at the start of A New Hope. For years, these fans have wondered what could have happened to poor Ben to wipe his much cooler name from memory.
While the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi gave fans an answer, it could have been so much worse. Early planning for the follow-up to Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith involved a much darker intro scene for Ewan McGregor‘s fallen Jedi Master, much worse than working on an assembly line cutting up a “sand whale” or living in a cave on Tatooine.

Christopher Lee graced the screens with his performances as menacing villains in several notable projects. The late actor delighted his fans when his career saw a resurgence after appearing as Saruman in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Following that he also appeared as the villainous Count Dooku in Star Wars: Episode II- Attack of the Clones (2002).
Christopher Lee as Count Dooku
Lee’s performance as Count Dooku was one of the rarest positive elements in the much-criticized Prequel Trilogy. But the late actor did not seem to have a very good experience during the filming. Additionally, despite a good performance, a certain section of fans believe that Count Dooku is the most underutilized Star Wars villain.

George Lucas gave birth to one of the greatest pop culture phenomena when he made Star Wars in 1977. The space-opera feature smashed box office records and established a new unique franchise. However, after the conclusion of the Original Trilogy, when Lucas released the Prequel Trilogy, things did not play out well.

While the Original Trilogy of Star Wars was widely appreciated and still loved by the fans, the departure from the traditional style was disliked by many in the Prequel stories. Interestingly, George Lucas played a massive gamble by financing the second Prequel film, Attack of the Clones, which does not have a good name among the fans. It generated a mixed to negative reception worldwide.

The three trilogies that have been collectively called the Skywalker Saga are considered to be at the center of the Star Wars IP. All the material, be it anthology films or streaming shows, is placed in the timeline directly in relation to the events of the films.
Star War: The Empire Strikes Back
From the fall of Anakin Skywalker to the rise of the New Jedi Order with Rey Palpatine, all have been covered over the course of nine films. However, Geroge Lucas’s original plan for the core Star Wars saga was quite different compared to what we got as the final product. To begin with, the director had a 12-film saga in mind, instead of 9.

In the 2022 miniseries, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen, and Ewan McGregor reunited on screen for the first time since 2005 when their iconic characters locked horns once again. The series which is part of George Lucas’ cult Star Wars franchise, is set years after the events in Revenge of the Sith, and brings the titular Jedi Master face to face with his arch nemesis Darth Vader.

Apart from many déjà vu moments from the various films, the series also brought back some memorable props, including the famous healing vessel called the bacta tank. Christensen who was required to get into this big water-filled vessel for his character, dispensed with a body double for the test run, and went through training to master the art of being underwater without the help of any breathing aids.

George Lucas’ Star Wars franchise has been popular for well over four decades and continues to enjoy plenty of fanfare. After completing the original trilogy of films, Lucas returned to the franchise for the prequels, which explore Anakin Skywalker’s fall to the dark side and transformation into the nefarious Darth Vader.

However, for Vader’s backstory to work, Lucas had to kill off a fan-favorite character in the final installment of the prequels. Nonetheless, Lucas’ original plans for the prequels did not involve the death of Vader’s love, Padmé. Here is everything you need to know about Lucas’ original plans for Padmé and her fate.

George Lucas Nearly Cast a Different Actor as Darth Vader Changing the Flow of the Franchise Forever
Darth Vader is undeniably one of the most iconic fictional characters, known for his menacing black suit and distinctive voice. Many other works of fiction and art make reference to the character, making it a familiar presence.
But, did you know that the role of Vader nearly went to a different actor? One who, at the time, might have been even more preferred than James Earl Jones given the circumstances?
During the late 1970s, while filming ‘A New Hope’ in London, David Prowse, who portrayed Darth Vader physically, delivered all of Vader’s lines from behind the mask. However, the mask muffled his speech, necessitating dubbing in post-production. Prowse initially expected to dub his own lines, but logistical issues and concerns about his accent prompted George Lucas to seek another voice. Lucas sought a deep, distinguished voice befitting the enigmatic Darth Vader. Ultimately, James Earl Jones, then a relatively unknown actor,...

Darth Vader is without a doubt one of the most iconic fictional characters, recognized by his ominous black suit and his voice. Plenty of other works of fiction and art reference the character, and it’s one of those references we can always easily spot.
But, did you know that the iconic role almost went to a completely different actor? The one that at the time would be perhaps even favored above James Earl Jones under the circumstances?
While filming ‘A New Hope’ in London during the late 1970s, David Prowse, the actor behind Darth Vader’s physical performance, spoke all of Vader’s lines from behind the mask. Before you make your 2024 Emmy predictions for Best Drama Supporting Actor, take a tour of our photo gallery showcasing the men most likely to land in the lineup. Last year’s race was completely dominated by actors from “Succession” and “The White Lotus,” neither of which can produce nominees this time since the former ended last May and the latter won’t return until 2025.
Naturally, this category’s sole presently eligible former winner – Billy Crudup – has emerged as the frontrunner. Among his likeliest competitors are two of his own cast mates: 2020 nominee Mark Duplass and series newcomer Jon Hamm, who won the 2015 Best Drama Actor Emmy for “Mad Men” and is widely expected to take this year’s limited series lead prize for “Fargo.”
Other outside winners in the mix include James Cromwell (“Sugar”; formerly of “American Horror Story”), Nathan Lane (“The Gilded Age”; “Only Murders in the Building”), and...

One thing everyone can agree on when it comes to the prequel trilogy is that George Lucas put his heart into those films, which can’t be said for the recent Star Wars flicks from Disney. But before departing from the iconic IP, Lucas also had plans on how the sequel trilogy would pan out, and while Disney did agree to respect his original wishes, unfortunately, it wasn’t the case.
Furthermore, following the failure of The Rise of the Skywalker, Lucasfilm strayed away from big-screen releases and shifted its focus to the small screen. But had Lucas’ original plans been incorporated, the sequel trilogy would’ve shattered stereotypes by introducing a new Darth Vader.

Forty years ago, author William Gibson brought the world a cyberpunk novel called Neuromancer – and an adaptation of that story has been trudging its way through development hell pretty much ever since. Versions of a feature film adaptation have passed through the hands of director like music video maker Chris Cunningham, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and The Blob‘s Chuck Russell, Torque‘s Joseph Kahn, Cube‘s Vincenzo Natali, and Deadpool‘s Tim Miller. While these projects were being put together (and while they fell apart), Neuromancer fans always wondered who would end up playing the lead character, Henry Dorsett Case. Hayden Christensen was rumored to be the top contender when Kahn was going to direct (with Liv Tyler rumored to co-star). Liam Neeson and Mark Wahlberg were said to be in the running for Natali’s version, although it wasn’t said who they might be playing.

Out of the many "Star Wars" shows that have come out of the Disney era, "Obi-Wan Kenobi" is arguably the weirdest. Like "The Book of Boba Fett," it is a show about one of the most beloved characters in the entire franchise, which brings back beloved actors, and promises to answer some questions fans had wondered about for years in regards to Kenobi's actions and whereabouts before meeting Luke Skywalker. Our own Ethan Anderton called this an unnecessary prequel in his review, but acknowledged that it's also "a thrilling new adventure that adds enticing emotional layers to the Jedi Master's story."
The show depicts Obi-Wan Kenobi hiding from his guilt over what happened to Anakin, from the ghosts of all his dead friends, and from the dangers of the Empire. Before Kenobi reclaimed his connection to the Force, he was just a sad hermit living in the desert. But we...

Not everyone anticipated that George Lucas’ space opera, which tells the story of characters’ adventures from ‘A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away’, would even be a hit before it was released in 1977. Significantly, even after more than 40 years, Star Wars would continue to rank among the most celebrated franchises in popular culture.
For a long time, fans have been enthralled by Star Wars movies; nevertheless, not every flick in the franchise has been well-received by critics or has done well at the box office. Keanu Reeves has long been a fan-favorite hero in Tinseltown, famous for portraying stoic, morally upright characters in critically acclaimed flicks such as John Wick and The Matrix. Nonetheless, much to the surprise of his fans, the Beirut-born actor, 59, has now taken on a new role that differs from his usual heroic persona: that of the anti-hero (Shadow) in the forthcoming Sonic 3 film. And fans are loving it!
Multiple sources are attesting that Reeves will resume voice acting following his role as Bruce Wayne / Batman in Jared Stern’s DC League of Super-Pets (2022).
Shadow in a still from Sonic The Hedgehog 2
For those unfamiliar with the Sonic franchise, Shadow is an intricate character who walks the line between hero and villain. He is gloomy and enigmatic, with a mysterious past that drives him to follow his own code of conduct, often contradicting traditional notions of what a hero should be.

I think /Film's Jacob Hall put it best in our list of the greatest "Star Wars" movie moments when he described George Lucas' prequel trilogy as "a collection of brilliant ideas, filmed in the most baffling, alien way possible." That extends to Anakin Skywalker's journey from a wide-eyed wunderkind enslaved on Tatooine with his mother to a genocidal tyrant who murders kids and owes fealty to a cackling dictator over the course of three movies. As conceptually logical and narratively sound as the rise of Darth Vader is on paper, it's perplexing enough in motion to merit me writing an article explaining Anakin's fall to the dark side for all those folks who watched the films and yet still came away scratching their heads.
In contrast, you get a far more satisfying depiction of Anakin and his transformation in "The Clone Wars," the animated show following Anakin (Matt Lanter...

If the Star Wars franchise is considered one of the greatest film series of all time in Hollywood, the credit goes to its creative mastermind George Lucas. The visionary director pioneered a sci-fi revolution with the epic space saga that spanned multiple decades to become a cult classic that will continue to remain evergreen for years to come.

Ewan McGregor is a Scottish actor who is better known to the world by the character he plays in the world-famous Star Wars franchise. Portraying the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi since 1999 in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, McGregor has been a much-loved character.
With the actor experiencing stardom, he didn’t think much of it at that time. Working alongside Hayden Christensen (who portrayed the role of Anakin Skywalker), the two became quite good friends. So good that when McGregor got the opportunity to work with Christensen again, he broke down in tears!

One of the most famous scenes in the Star Wars film saga almost didn’t happen at all. Although the movie was always going to end with Anakin Skywalker losing a few limbs, the stunt team behind Prequel Trilogy closer originally choreographed a different climax for Revenge of the Sith‘s final duel between brothers. In fact, an earlier version of the fight on Mustafar didn’t have Obi-Wan getting the high ground on Anakin at all; there was no cocky last leap from young Skywalker to seal his fate.
As Revenge of the Sith stunt coordinator Nick Gillard explained to Empire magazine, “Originally, they both land on the side of the lava flow and immediately start fighting.
