Was one of Mamet's Goddard (Vt.) College students who followed him to Chicago and in 1973-74 founded the St. Nicholas Theatre Co., where Macy acted in the world premiere of Mamet's "Squirrels" and, in a transfer there from Goodman Theatre's Stage 2 series, "American Buffalo."
