1. Shaun of the Dead (2004)

R | 99 min | Comedy, Horror

76 Metascore

The uneventful, aimless lives of a London electronics salesman and his layabout roommate are disrupted by the zombie apocalypse.

Director: Edgar Wright | Stars: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Kate Ashfield, Lucy Davis

Votes: 594,305 | Gross: $13.54M

This may be my favorite comedy film. First, it's British with British actors, of course. Second, Simon Peg and Nick Frost are one of the best duo actors that appear in a couple of other comedy films. This film is actually a parody of all horror films with zombies, and although I haven't watched any zombie movie before I watched this one, it didn't matter because it was hilarious. I just love how the zombies are introduced and I love the characters of Shaun and Ed.

2. Kung Fu Panda (2008)

PG | 92 min | Animation, Action, Adventure

74 Metascore

To everyone's surprise, including his own, Po, an overweight, clumsy panda, is chosen as protector of the Valley of Peace. His suitability will soon be tested as the valley's arch-enemy is on his way.

Directors: Mark Osborne, John Stevenson | Stars: Jack Black, Ian McShane, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman

Votes: 523,211 | Gross: $215.43M

Ok, so almost every animated film is a comedy, but they also give a great message at the end. What's not to love? I chose this one because it really made me laugh, and the panda Paul is such a badass (not really at the beginning) just like the actor who portraits him - Jack Black. Also, watch Kung Fu Panda 2.

3. The Intouchables (2011)

R | 112 min | Comedy, Drama

57 Metascore

After he becomes a quadriplegic from a paragliding accident, an aristocrat hires a young man from the projects to be his caregiver.

Directors: Olivier Nakache, Éric Toledano | Stars: François Cluzet, Omar Sy, Anne Le Ny, Audrey Fleurot

Votes: 930,225 | Gross: $13.18M

This is a french drama and it ended up on this list because it has a very good humor. I think it just shows no matter how hard life is, you mustn't lose the sense of humor and that's what these characters teach us. This is a must-see film.

4. Superbad (2007)

R | 113 min | Comedy

76 Metascore

Two co-dependent high school seniors are forced to deal with separation anxiety after their plan to stage a booze-soaked party goes awry.

Director: Greg Mottola | Stars: Michael Cera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Bill Hader

Votes: 633,245 | Gross: $121.46M

I was surprised how supergood this film is. I always call it a guy-comedy, and I think every boy should see it just for the fun of it. Three boys are the main characters and there is so much going on: alcohol, parties, police, girls... Yeah, it has all the right ingredients + funny dialog and hilarious scenes.

5. Step Brothers (2008)

R | 98 min | Comedy

51 Metascore

Two aimless middle-aged losers still living at home are forced against their will to become roommates when their parents marry.

Director: Adam McKay | Stars: Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Mary Steenburgen, Richard Jenkins

Votes: 319,197 | Gross: $100.47M

How to explain this film shortly? Two 40-years old guys act like 4-years old kids when their parents marry each other. I really like the fighting between them, and I mean fighting, like throwing each other at the wall.

6. Bridesmaids (I) (2011)

R | 125 min | Comedy

75 Metascore

Competition between the maid of honor and a bridesmaid, over who is the bride's best friend, threatens to upend the life of an out-of-work pastry chef.

Director: Paul Feig | Stars: Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Terry Crews

Votes: 309,342 | Gross: $169.11M

This comedy film actually reminds me of Bride Wars, but like so much better. There is a rivalry between two bridesmaids that leads to very uncomfortable and funny situations.

7. The Emperor's New Groove (2000)

G | 78 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

70 Metascore

Emperor Kuzco is turned into a llama by his ex-administrator Yzma, and must now regain his throne with the help of Pacha, the gentle llama herder.

Director: Mark Dindal | Stars: David Spade, John Goodman, Eartha Kitt, Patrick Warburton

Votes: 225,681 | Gross: $89.30M

Can you believe it took me 13 years to watch this? I mean I didn't even know that it existed. Don't worry that it is a Disney film, it has singing and dancing only at the beginning and in the end. And also it's not just for kids, I mean the dialog and the narrating is just so cool! And again it will leave you with a meaningful message about friendship.

8. Due Date (2010)

R | 95 min | Comedy, Drama

51 Metascore

High-strung father-to-be Peter Highman is forced to hitch a ride with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay on a road trip in order to make it to his child's birth on time.

Director: Todd Phillips | Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Zach Galifianakis, Michelle Monaghan, Jamie Foxx

Votes: 358,049 | Gross: $100.54M

Robert Downey Jr. in a comedy film with Zach Galifianakis. It is actually very funny. They meet, they go on a trip together, they fight, they don't trust each other, they are very different and in the end they are best friends. I think it's a great comedy to watch when you stay the night.

9. The Dictator (2012)

R | 83 min | Comedy

58 Metascore

The heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.

Director: Larry Charles | Stars: Sacha Baron Cohen, Anna Faris, John C. Reilly, Ben Kingsley

Votes: 335,132 | Gross: $59.65M

Ok, ok. So some of you may not like it, but some like me, will. Well you know Sacha Baron Coen and he goes into extremes. That's how this comedy is. If you like it a little more over the top, watch it and you won't be sorry.

10. The Big Lebowski (1998)

R | 117 min | Comedy, Crime

71 Metascore

Jeff "The Dude" Lebowski, mistaken for a millionaire of the same name, seeks restitution for his ruined rug and enlists his bowling buddies to help get it.

Directors: Joel Coen, Ethan Coen | Stars: Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Julianne Moore, Steve Buscemi

Votes: 860,837 | Gross: $17.50M

I didn't laugh at this one, but that doesn't mean it's not good. I mean the actors are great. And I think I almost started talking like the Dude, man. It has very interesting scenes and I just love the character of Dude, he is just so relaxed about everything while Walter has big temper.

11. Hot Fuzz (2007)

R | 121 min | Action, Comedy, Mystery

81 Metascore

An overachieving London police sergeant is transferred to a village where the easygoing officers object to his fervor for regulations, all while a string of grisly murders strikes the town.

Simon and Nick. I think I made myself clear.

13. 21 Jump Street (2012)

A pair of underachieving cops are sent back to a local high school to blend in and bring down a synthetic drug ring.

Directors: Phil Lord, Christopher Miller | Stars: Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson

Votes: 598,877 | Gross: $138.45M

Two cops go undercover in high school. It's funny from the first scene and I recommend to watch it with friends. Prepare for loud laughing.

Votes: 194,275 | Gross: $54.76M

I was laughing out loud while watching this film. This one is also about rivalry between two colleagues about the same girl. But, is so much cooler because they are CIA operatives.

15. Megamind (2010)

PG | 95 min | Animation, Action, Adventure

Evil genius Megamind finally defeats his do-gooder nemesis, Metro Man, but is left without a purpose in a superhero-free world.

Director: Tom McGrath | Stars: Will Ferrell, Jonah Hill, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey

I just love animated movies. And this one is great with a great story and super humor. It's a villain - hero story, but with the villain as the main character.
