Whether you’re a long-time fan of the Fallout franchise or a new viewer that joined the club after watching Prime Video’s TV show, you’re well-aware that Vault-Tec Vaults were much more than just a way to save human civilization in case of a global nuclear war — they were controlled grounds for experiments on humans.
But while some of those experiments were reasonably tame, others were downright monstrous… And one particular Vault can prove devastating in Fallout Season 2.
Lucy MacLean Loves Herself a Good Vault
One of Fallout’s main characters, Lucy MacLean has been a certified Vault Dweller for her entire life — until the moment she bravely ventured outside to find her father. Like most of her fellow Vault Dwellers, she had no idea about Vault-Tec’s experiments, and in her eyes, Vaults remained safe and picture-perfect places.
She did learn some portion of the truth in Vault 4, but largely,...

John Oliver used his opening segment on Sunday’s Last Week Tonight to talk about the “hard crackdown” on college students in the U.S. protesting the Israel-Hamas war.
He showed clips from a live Fox News report at Columbia University in New York.
“Police swarmed campuses in numbers so extreme; this student summed it up pretty well,” he said.
The clip started out with a reporter asking a student protestor, “What do you think about the NYPD moving in?”
Replied the student: “It’s insane. We have a right to protest. We have a right. Look at that. That’s fucking crazy.”
The reporter then asked: “What are you gonna do if you get arrested?”
The student replied: “I can’t really do much.”
The reporter pressed on: “Will you go with the police if they make an arrest?”
Shrugged the student: “I guess so.”

John Oliver was back on Last Week Tonight after taking a week off and dinged Fox News over their coverage of college students protesting the war in Gaza.
Oliver highlighted the coverage the student protests have been getting on cable news networks and highlighted a particular moment on Fox News as they reported from Columbia University.
In the clip, the Fox News reporter asks a student what they thought about the NYPD moving in on the protestors.
“It’s insane. We have a right to protest,” the student said. “Look at that, it’s f***ing crazy.”
Oliver zeroed in on the reporter asking the student what they were going to do when the police started arresting them.
“What am I going to do? I can’t really do much,” the student said.
The reporter then followed up, asking, “Are you going to go with the police if they make arrests?...

HBO is continuing to tinker with its YouTube strategy for Last Week Tonight.
Two months after angering fans (and apparently John Oliver himself) when it decided to delay its traditional next-day posting of the Sunday night show’s main segment til later in the week, HBO has begun posting full episodes of Last Week Tonight to YouTube. There is a catch, however–those full episodes are a decade old, at least to start.
The entire first season of Last Week Tonight landed on YouTube for free viewing Sunday night, with more apparently on the way.
The show posted a promotional video announcing the full season drop earlier in the weekend, promising that Seasons 2-8 are also on their way. (Those hoping to watch full episodes from the show’s most recent three seasons will still need a Max subscription here in the U.S.)

HBO is releasing the entire first season of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on YouTube.
The premium cable network didn’t air a new episode of the weekly talk show on Sunday, April 28 but instead dropped all of Season 1 for viewers to watch for free.
“There’s no new episode this week! But we still have current events. From 10 years ago. This Sunday we’ll be dropping all of season 1 for free on YouTube!” read a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Seasons 2-8 to come, whenever we don’t have a new episode. Trust us, some of this is still completely relevant. Some.”

The Legend of Korra has perfectly continued the story of Avatar: The Last Airbender. If the original animated series introduced the world, the spin-off built upon it to a degree no one saw coming. One of the most explored aspects was that of bending; more specifically, how much more one could do as a bender.
Avatar: The Last Airbender
During Aang’s time, it was as though we were shown only the tip of the iceberg. However, by the time Korra comes around, it is as though everything becomes more and more advanced. Suddenly, earthbenders and firebenders are also taking part in medicine, and airbenders could propel themselves like cannonballs.

Hunter x Hunter has been one of the most popular anime since the late 1990s. After Yu Yu Hakusho’s success, Yoshihiro Togashi decided to venture into an action-packed adventurous manga. Eventually, it became a popular manga and was adapted into anime in 1999. It went on for only four seasons and came to a sudden stop. Later, the manga was re-adapted into an anime in 2011 and gained worldwide popularity.
The Chimera Ant arc became a fan-favorite arc due to the inclusion of dark elements into the Shounen manga. There have been several fan theories relating to Hunter x Hunter. One of the popular theories surrounding Kite, who made his anime debut in the initial stage of the Chimera Ant. The theory claims that he was the reason behind Gon Freecs transforming into adult Gon.

John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight is now a three-time Peabody Award nominee, and the only late-night show to be recognized by the prestigious organization this year
Earlier today The Peabody Awards Board of Jurors announced this year’s 27 nominees in the Arts, Children’s/Youth, Entertainment, and Interactive & Immersive categories, and Last Week Tonight’s November 2023 episode “Israel-Hamas War” made the list.
The episode is described by the Peabodys as “clear-eyed,” and recognizes Oliver’s own statement from the show that “any conversation around [the war] has to begin with empathy.”
This won’t be the first go-round for Last Week Tonight at the Peabodys. The show is 2-for-2 in Peabody nominations and wins. It won its first in 2015, and again in 2018.
If a third win feels like a stretch, it’s worth keeping in mind that Oliver and team have also won every Emmy Award the show’s ever been nominated for–sixteen in all.

Avatar: The Legend of Korra and its predecessor Avatar: The Last Airbender draw a lot from real-world politics for a kid’s show. Dealing with issues like genocide, propaganda, and war, it is not a surprise that the show took inspiration from real-world political figures to talk about the themes it explores in its sequel series, The Legend of Korra.
Amon, from The Legend of Korra
There is a particular reading of the villain for the first season of Legend of Korra that equated him with Joseph Stalin, the leader of the former Ussr. The similarities between their philosophies, which focused on the democratization or eradication of unequal social structures is something that fans have pointed out, with Amon’s goal being towards equality, which manifested in him taking away bending from benders.
Amon’s idea of equality might have had a lot in common with Stalin’s ideas of communism

Diljit Dosanjh In A Still From Amar Singh Chamkila As The Late Punjabi Singer ( Photo Credit – YouTube )
Amar Singh Chamkila is getting rave reviews for being one of the best musical biopics that has come out of India. The film traced the journey of the Punjabi singer and his wife, Amarjot Kaur. However, people were surprised to see that Amarjot was the singer’s second wife.
Before hitting musical highs in the industry, Chamkila was married to a woman called Gurmail, and when the news of his second marriage broke, he was reprimanded by the Sarpanch of his village. However, the singer promised Gurmail and their son a certain amount of maintenance every month.
However, the film never shows the first wife again until his death, which might have been a creative liberty taken by Imtiaz Ali, who wanted to focus completely on the musical journey of Amar Singh Chamkila in the film.

Greg Whiteley has a new sports docuseries at Netflix that really isn’t new at all. The seven-episode (at 45-minutes apiece) “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders” will premiere this summer on Netflix. The streamer first announced the series on Thursday, when it also put out a teaser (below).
Greg Whiteley… Netflix… cheerleading docuseries… Why does this all sound so familiar? Oh yeah, it’s because Whiteley is the guy behind Netflix’s two-season docuseries “Cheer” (as well as the equally excellent five-season “Last Chance U”).
Fans of “Cheer” have been not-so-patiently waiting for a third season, so… isn’t this just that? Why not call “America’s Sweethearts” what it really is: “Cheer” Season 3. That’s what we want.
There’s plenty of precedent here. While “Cheer” Seasons 1 and 2 focused on competitive collegiate cheerleading (mostly) at Navarro College (also in Texas!), Whiteley’s precursor “Last Chance U” not only changed schools — it changed sports.

Avatar: The Last Airbender, as a franchise, is always deliberate with every decision that is made. A character’s backstory, design, bending, techniques, and even their alliance, all have a part to play in the grand scheme of things. A design made by creators, Michael Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko, to perfectly fit their grand puzzle.
Aang and Katara
Knowing this, there are many decisions made that fans find difficult to assign meaning to. In situations like these, the creators lend a hand in exposing the intention behind why things were made the way that they were.

One example of this, that has had fans scratching their heads since the very first season was why Katara is the only bender in the South Pole.

John Oliver took a left turn on Last Week Tonight and imagined a scenario where Stanley Tucci would be the host of the HBO late-night show.
While discussing Medicaid and everything wrong with the system, Oliver said the purpose of the show was not to make viewers feel good, otherwise it would be hosted by Stanley Tucci.
“If this show was supposed to make you feel good, it wouldn’t be hosted by me, it would be hosted by Stanley Tucci,” Oliver said as his reason for discussing hard topics affecting American citizens. “Can you imagine? You’d be watching an impossibly horny 30-minute deep dive on negronis right now.”
He continued, “That’s a better show. I wish this were that show. You wish this were that show. But guys, I’m sorry. It just isn’t.”

The Holdovers, American Fiction and Succession were among the winners at the 2024 Writers Guild Awards, which were handed out Sunday night in simultaneous ceremonies in New York and Los Angeles.
Best adapted screenplay was presented to American Fiction, the winner for the best adapted screenplay Oscar, while The Holdovers won the award for best original screenplay. (The winner of the best original screenplay Oscar, Anatomy of a Fall, was deemed ineligible for the WGA Awards.)
Accepting his award in L.A., Holdovers writer David Hemingson thanked “a brilliant cast and a brilliant director” for bringing the story to life and accepted “in memory of my mother who raised me, my uncle who saved me, and my father, who gave me my love of the written word and taught me the value of integrity.”
In the TV categories, The Bear won best comedy series, while Succession was named best drama series.

The David Hemingson-scripted Alexander Payne dramedy The Holdovers and Cord Jefferson’s American Fiction were the big film winners at the strike-delayed 2024 Writers Guild Awards, which were handed out Sunday in Los Angeles and New York.
Jefferson — who also was honored with the WGA West’s Paul Selvin Award — followed his Oscar win for Adapted Screenplay as the WGA’s weird, wild and elongated Awards season wrapped with simultaneous ceremonies on both coasts. Hemingson scored a modicum of revenge for losing the Original Screenplay Academy Award to Justine Triet and Arthur Harari for Anatomy of a Fall.
The latter script, however, wasn’t eligible for a Writers Guild Award. That’s because, unlike other guilds, the WGA deems ineligible any scripts for movies not produced under its Minimum Basic Agreement or a bona fide collective bargaining agreement with various affiliated countries.
Later, the Documentary prize went to Errol Morris...

Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan Box Office Opening Higher Than His Last Eid Release (Photo Credit –YouTube)
Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan could not reap benefits from his opening number despite getting the first mover advantage at the box office in the epic clash with Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The sports drama collected 7.25 crore on day 1. This number also includes the paid previews of the film.
Helmed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor, the film was released on Eid after much delay. It was expected that positive word of mouth would turn tables at the box office, but no miracle happened when it came to numbers.
However, Ajay Devgn has fared much more with Maidaan than his last Eid release at the box office, which interestingly was also a clash. Ajay’s last Eid release was in 2022, Runway 34, which clashed with Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2.

Avatar: The Last Airbender has become somewhat of a hot topic lately. After the wildly successful Nickelodeon TV show took the world by storm, there was a disastrous attempt to create a live-action movie in the past. But more recently, Netflix tried and was in fact successful in bringing Aang and the gang into the live-action world through their latest series.
Now, Paramount, along with Nickelodeon, are taking a stab at it to make a successful movie adaptation of the popular cartoon. The cast was recently announced, and the choice of Eric Nam to voice the adult version of the lead character isn’t sitting right with many people.

Created by Michael Dante Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko, Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s mythos is as complex as it can get, thanks to its fantasy theme. The world of the animated television series involves four nations, each with their own unique bending abilities: the Fire Nation, Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, and Air Nomads.
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Based on Aang, the last surviving Avatar capable of saving the Avatar world with his powers of bending all four elements, the story also focuses on Zuko. The exiled prince of the Fire Nation, Zuko shares a great bond with Aang. But surprisingly, as the mythos goes, the two characters are not just friends but actually great-grandfather and great-grandson.
Avatar Aang Might Be Zuko’s Great-Grandfather Zuko and Aang in Avatar: The Last Airbender
Set in an Asiatic setting involving several fictional elements, Avatar: The Last Airbender also involves elements like spirits and forms of spiritual magic.

The Avatar: The Last Airbender fans know just how hard it is for all the Avatars who have been bestowed with the responsibility of protecting human beings from the threats of the spirit world. While all of them exercise great strength and power to overpower evil, they also have to leave behind their own desires to fulfill their duty of serving the world.

Yet even through that, each successor of this league of heroes is connected to their predecessors throughout their lives, gaining access to their consciousness to continue to fight for what’s right. All except for Korra, who loses this ability at one point in time. And in doing so, revealed a major and extremely dark storyline about the saga that we never quite realized existed.

Much like Nickelodeon’s animated hit Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005), its follow-up show The Legend of Korra showcased similar elements, where the protagonist triumphs over evil and ends the show by venturing on a happy journey with their loved one. Only this time the show creators set a milestone with Korra at a great risk, to avoid future regrets.
Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra (2012)
For those who have watched, you all know what it’s about, but for the ones unaware, the milestone is about creating a female-dominated show that featured a uniquely intimate scene between a same-sex couple, Korra and Asami. Although The Legend of Korra has always been a progressive show for kids, tackling the not-so-subtle pairing was truly risky.

The legacy left by Avatar: The Last Airbender was something that The Legend of Korra was unable to outrun. The 2005 animated series has some of the most dedicated fans out there and the love it has received is fully deserved. However, the fans also seem to have become protective over the world as when the series released its spin-off in 2012, a huge percentage of them were not happy.
Avatar: The Legend of Korra
There was a lot of criticism about the writing and the differences in the world dynamics in the two series. However, a majority of the skepticism was focused on the new Avatar. Fans did not like how vastly different her character was from Aang. In classic female-protagonist style, many believe her to be ‘difficult’ and ‘unlikable’ due to her desire to maintain peace in her world.

Talking about Moonatic Studios’ One Last Breath without bringing up the excellent 2016 puzzle-platform game Inside by Playdead would have been quite difficult since the former borrows quite a few elements from the latter, to the point where it becomes a cause for a skeptical eyebrow raise.
Fortunately, Moonatic adds just enough fresh and grand variations to make its game feel like it can stand on its own two feet, using deeply immersive visuals and sound design to get the message across while throwing in a couple of nature powers to differentiate it from similar games that came before.
One Last Breath is out now for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Fans of the popular animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender have recently discovered a profound connection between Korra losing her bond to the past Avatars and how it impacted Aang’s legacy in the franchise. The Legend of Korra season 2 had been marked with a divisive moment, Korra losing her connection to past Avatars in a battle against Unalaq and Vaatu.
The Legend of Korra
Though undeniably tragic, Korra’s disconnection from her past lives wasn’t merely an unfortunate incident. It has been described as an inevitable and pivotal moment in her journey. It symbolizes a narrative coming full circle, mirroring Aang’s legacy and illustrating the cyclical nature of the Avatar’s role.
Korra Losing Connection to Past Avatars Narrates a Full Circle
Michael Dante Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko’s Avatar: The Last Airbender portrays Aang’s reliance on past Avatars for guidance in his endeavors to defeat the Fire Lord.

The Avatar Cycle is something that has always fascinated fans. Legend of Korra was able to give us the origin of the cycle, showing the viewers how it was a human and a spirit allying together that created the Avatar, who would bring harmony and balance to the four nations and the human/spirit world.
The Air Nomad in his fully restored Avatar state
One of the many things that have fascinated fans is how the Avatar cycle could be manipulated by other factions. Avatars could be killed to make sure the next Avatar comes from a particular nation. There have even been factions that have wanted to remove the Avatar cycle from the world completely, wanting to kill the Avatar in the Avatar state.

Avatar: The Last Airbender introduced us to a myriad of bending arts that have diversified from the classical elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. We were introduced to fire-benders such as Azula and Iroh who could generate and redirect lightning. We were introduced to Toph Beifong, the character who discovered Metal Bending. We were also introduced to Combustion Man, the one mercenary of the fire nation hired to hunt down the Avatar.
Avatar: The Last Airbender’s Combustion Man may have had a dark history
Combustion Man has a unique fire-bending ability called Combustionbending. This type of bending allows concentrated chi to be dispensed from the forehead, like a canon, requiring great amounts of control and training. While characters like these are few and far between, one Avatar theory points towards why that is the case.

The Avatar Cycle is one of the key features of the Avatar franchise. Each time an Avatar dies, the Avatar Spirit reincarnates in the next nation in the Cycle. In Avatar: The Legend of Korra, this cycle is further explained, where we learn that the Avatar Spirit was Raava, the Spirit of Light, who carries bending abilities from one body to another.
Raava, The Avatar Spirit as depicted in Legend of Korra
Now, we understand that the spirit travels around the four nations, settling in the body of the next bender in the cycle. However, a curious theory has allegedly broken down what is the pre-requisite for Raava’s selection process. The theory draws from another speculation that has been making the rounds on the internet, one that explains how sub-bending works in the world of Avatar.

There have been many conversations in Avatar: The Last Airbender fandom surrounding Aang, Korra, and characters who are stronger than them. In the mythological world, the Avatar is the superior power; a person with the ability to bend all four elements. A messiah of sorts who can make all the pain go away and act as the great savior of people. However, among the Avatars themselves, there are a few who are stronger than the rest.
Aang in Avatar: The Last Airbender
While many would like to believe that Aang is the strongest in the bunch, the truth may be further away from it. There seems to be more than enough proof to suggest Korra is more powerful than the Airbender.

General Iroh of the Fire Nation is one of the most beloved characters to come out of the Avatar franchise. Through his wisdom and compassion shown towards those around him, along with the badass monicker of the Dragon of the West, Iroh cemented himself as one of the most interesting characters in the show.
Uncle Iroh in Avatar: The Last Airbender
Mako Iwamatsu was the voice of General Iroh at the beginning of the series, but the voice actor sadly passed away in 2006, which prompted Greg Baldwin to take over the role from his mentor. Aang’s absence from the world for a hundred years changed a great many things, chief among them the rise of the Fire Nation as a colonizing empire. The anticipated showdown between the brother-sister duo, Azula and Zuko, had been foreshadowed since the beginning of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The way the Nickelodeon series handled the final confrontation was truly commendable leading it to become one of the greatest moments of the series.

Sanya Malhotra Was Rejected From Did’s Audition By Dance Deewane 3 Judge Dharmesh Yelande(Photo Credit –Instagram)
They say Bollywood is a ‘fateful’ industry. Luck By Chance, as Zoya Akhtar aptly called it. You might reach the top despite being a mediocre talent, and you might never make it despite hustling and struggling and having a lot of potentials. Many times, actors and artists arrive much late, and two such artists were Sanya Malhotra and Dharmesh Yelande. But the interesting part is that both of them are getting their due.
What if we tell you that Sanya was once rejected as a talent by Dharmesh himself? The actress once revealed how she auditioned for Dance India Dance but was rejected in the initial rounds since she did not have a sob story. However, she even confessed that choreographer Dharmesh Yelande was a part of the crew when she got rejected.

Twisted Metal Season 2 will pick up the story of Anthony Mackie’s John Doe, where the character’s self-claimed sister, Dollface, is likely to join the post-apocalyptic madness.
(Spoilers for Season 1)
Season 1 ended with John Doe finally reaching the New San Francisco, where he’s bored with his life now, and Stephanie Beatriz’s Quite is out there stealing deliveries from milkmen.
The date of the show remains undisclosed, but it will be a twisted journey without a shadow of a doubt. Until then, the audience can enjoy the experiences Anthony Mackie shared with FandomWire regarding the TV adaptation of the popular franchise and playing Twisted Metal video games.
This Would Have Taken a Lot of Brainstorming
The Avengers star plays John Doe in the Twisted Metal series.
Unlike the TV series, the games did not particularly focus on characters. Players simply sit in vehicles to beat other drivers trying to get them.

We have a trailer for the Fallout TV show, and it looks like it’ll be a fantastic experience, even for those who aren’t familiar with the franchise. From what we can see, the producers have worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail in the show is perfect and it doesn’t look out of place.
This is one issue that many TV shows and films have resorted to over recent years, as most productions tend to use a lot of CGI and green screens to ensure quality rather than physical effects. According to Ella Purnell, this isn’t the case, as she has stated that she was impressed that Jonathon Nolan didn’t rely on green leotards over physical effects.
