Funding is already in place for a new Red Sonja movie, following Wonder Woman's success...
The last time we saw Robert E Howard’s creation Red Sonja on the big screen, it was in the midst of 1985’s movie, where the character was played by Brigitte Nielsen. In that particular movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger took top billing.
However, now comes the news that a new take on the character is heading to the big screen, and apparently heading there fast. Producer Avi Lerner, who is overseeing this new version, concedes that Wonder Woman’s success is an influence here, and the funding is now in place for the new film from Millennium Media.
The hunt is now on for a screenwriter for the movie, one who will differentiate it from the 1985 version and have one eye on a franchise.
Early days yet, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more…...

Joss Whedon shares a few words on his thoughts about casting the role of Batgirl...
The premiere of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 took place in Hollywood overnight, and one of the attendees was Joss Whedon. Whedon, who has directed a pair of Avengers movies for Marvel of course, is next set to tackle a standalone Batgirl movie for DC. At said premiere, Whedon was asked about potential casting for the role, telling Variety that “I don’t have my eye on anybody”.
He added that “I feel like I’m creating this character, I’m going to dialogue with her, and then we’ll see who joins that later on”.
“I doubt it will be a name. This is somewhere where you go and find Batgirl and then you cast her”.
Not that he has anything against big names. “I’m not against movie stars, they’re great,...

For every actor out there who has “made it” there are hundreds if not thousands of actors who haven’t. I bring this up because while some actors make it big, it takes a real special talent to last in the industry for a number of years. Most times someone might get a TV show and that’s the end of it. But there’s a special rare breed that an stay in the business for decades because of their ability to not only act extremely well, but to understand the business as a whole. This means getting along with directors, producers, other

A bunch of Princesses are set to do battle in a new Avengers-esque movie...
A new report suggests studios are battling it out over a script for a new project called Princesses. This is a film that’d see a whole bunch of fairy tale princesses coming together in an Avengers-style team-up. What’s more, this isn’t a Disney project either.
Instead, the screenplay is the work of Nir Paniry, and already attached to direct is Joachim Ronning, who has co-helmed the upcoming Pirates Of The Caribbean 5.
It’s unclear as of yet which Princesses are involved in the story, but given that they’re likely to be all in the public domain, there are no rights issues to contend with here. Obviously, if Disney is the studio that wins out in the aforementioned bidding war for the film, we’d expect the Princess characters...

Hannah Jeter is glowing!
The 26-year-old model is pregnant with her first child with her husband, baseball legend Derek Jeter, and accentuated her growing baby bump in a lace-up leather skirt on Tuesday while promoting Sports Illustrated's annual Swimsuit Issue. Wearing strappy black heels, a tight-fitting top and a fur coat, it's clear Hannah has no intention of ditching her sexy style during pregnancy.

Last we reported on a Game of Thrones offshoot, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss effectively ruled themselves out of the proposed spinoff series, but that hasn’t quelled HBO’s enthusiasm to mine Westeros for future content beyond the show’s eighth and final season.
In fact, according to the network’s programming president Casey Bloys, a Game of Thrones prequel series isn’t off the table, and the Powers That Be are hosting “preliminary” talks with franchise mastermind George R.R. Martin about where to take A Song of Ice and Fire next. Per Entertainment Weekly: “I would say it’s still kind of preliminary ongoing talks. There are areas we are exploring, but I wouldn’t point to any one and say, ‘This is what we’re going to do.’”

Former graphic designer Makoto Shinkai eschewed the traditional apprenticeship in a Japanese anime studio and taught himself how to animate digitally. Shinkai first caught the attention of audiences in 2002 with his 25-minute Voices of a Distant Star, which he wrote, directed and co-produced. That was followed by his first full-length anime feature The Place Promised in Our Early Days in 2004. Subsequent works such as Children Who Chase Lost Voices (2011) and The Garden of Words (2013) won him something of a cult following before the enormous recent success of Your Name catapulted him to stardom in Japan. Comic Books 101: DC Comics-Reading Batman Pt 2
Previously I wrote an article helping new readers figure out the best places to pick up Batman from DC Comics . For those confused or still uncertain about major events in DC Comics (which connect to various “jumping on” points for Batman) I wrote an article detailing the big company altering stories in my history of the DC Universe article. This time around I am going to open up a bit more on the adventures of The Dark Knight, and take a look at some of the bigger, and in my opinion, best stories for potential Batman readers. This will include small and big story lines that exist in various continuities within the DC Comics publication history for the character. There won’t be any set “this is better than that” to the stories listed, simply moments in the characters publication where a...

It seems impossible, or maybe just stupid: adapt what is perhaps the most acclaimed novel by perhaps our greatest living novelist as your directorial debut, which you’ll also star in as a character with whom, based on the many and very critical descriptions from said most-acclaimed-novel-by-greatest-living-novelist, you don’t even have the greatest resemblance. Here we are, then, with Ewan McGregor‘s American Pastoral, an adaptation of Philip Roth‘s Pulitzer-winning, meta-fictional masterpiece of grieving, complex generational rifts, and glove-making — not exactly a Sundance-premiering dramedy.
I very much hope not to look like a fool in four months’ time when I say, now, that the first preview points towards something with character — perhaps rather good, even. Early days, yes (hence the disclaimer), yet this is a fine sampling of period-evoking design, shots and palette that evoke some sense of visual purpose — hello, The American and Control Dp Martin Ruhe — and,...

Chicago – Two months ago, producer/director/cinematographer/editor Gordon Quinn received the Baadasssss Award from the 2016 Cimm Fest, for his longtime contributions to the cinema scene in Chicago through Kartemquin Films. The famous production house, known for their documentaries, is celebrating their 50th anniversary.
Kartemquin began in 1966 when three newly minted University of Chicago grads partnered to create socially conscious films, and took part of their names – Stan KARter, Jerry TEManer and Gordon QUINn – to form Kartemquin Films. Towards the end of the 1960s, Karter and Temaner had moved on, and the late Jerry Blumenthal stepped in to become the de facto fourth founder. It is Gordon Quinn that remains after 50 years, and he is the standard bearer for a film company that seeks to be a home for independent filmmakers who develop documentaries that deepen our understanding of society through everyday human drama – focusing on people whose lives are...

Few people can upstage Princess Kate when it comes to fashion, but when Princess Charlotte made her debut appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for Saturday's Trooping of the Colour, all eyes were on the adorable 13-month-old dressed head-to-toe in pink. Teaming a pale-pink traditional dress featuring smocking detail with scalloped-edge pink socks and her trusty Early Days "Emma" shoes and a favorite bow from London children's boutique Amaia (she has them in several colors, but this particular one is believed to be their "Rose clip"), it was a classic look from top to bottom. "She looked perfect! So cute,...

Warner Bros is adding a Harley Quinn-led movie, starring Margot Robbie, to its DC slate. Expect Batgirl to appear too...
The antics of Jared Leto’s method acting aside, most of the attention with regards the upcoming Suicide Squad movie has centred on the big screen debut of the character Harley Quinn. Comfortably one of the most popular modern Batman nemeses, Harley Quinn is being played by Margot Robbie in the new movie, which is due in August.
We already knew that Robbie was set to reprise the role in Suicide Squad 2, that Warner Bros is cooking up. But now we also learn that a Harley Quinn movie is also in development.
This would star Robbie once again, but also, it wouldn’t be a straight Harley Quinn solo project. Rather, it’ll also introduce a bunch of other female heroes and villains to the DC movie universe.

Princess Charlotte is officially the most stylish toddler in the game - rivaled only by her brother Prince George, of course. The little royal looked positively precious in photos released just ahead of her first birthday on May 2 - and other, non-royal cuties can totally steal her budget-friendly ensembles. The Princess wore a floral print pink dress and a M&H pink cardigan (which she recently donned for a family portrait with Queen Elizabeth II) with thick pink ribbed tights by Amaia, which retail for $16, and Emma pre-walker shoes by Early Days in black ($41). Her brown hair was pulled back with a sweet bow clip,...

And once again, mom Kate, 34, got behind the camera to take the sweet pictures. Charlotte is seen playing around her home in pink and blue outfits (with matching bows) and tights by Amaia and 'Emma' pre-walker shoes by Early Days. And the almost 1-year-old could not have looked cuter! Wearing a dainty floral print dress with a frilled collar and matching bloomer-style knickers from Madrid-based brand m&h - it's a very similar look to what the tiny tot has worn previously.

Early days, but it sounds as though Arnold Schwarzenegger is interested in a return to the Predator series...
He’s not appeared in a Predator movie since the first one back in 1987, but it sounds like moves are being made to get Arnold Schwarzenegger back in the series.
Notwithstanding the fact that Arnie’s box office cachet has taken a battering in recent times, he’d still be quite an addition to The Predator, that’s being directed by Shane Black for release in March 2018.
Schwarzenegger’s immediate schedule is hosting Celebrity Apprentice in the Us (replacing Donald Trump there, no less), and he told The Arnold Fans that “I haven’t talked with [Shane Black] yet but I’m going to meet with him for lunch sometime soon. Just as soon as I’m finished with [Arnold’s Sports Festival] and The Apprentice and all this stuff”.
“But I will get together with him”, he said.

Gareth Edward’s Nolanisation of the King of Monsters was many things to many people, but one of the overriding criticisms levelled at his 2014 Godzilla reboot was its crippling lack of memorable villains for the radioactive lizard to tussle with. Granted, licensing issues with Toho – the Japanese production company that holds the rights to the famed behemoth – prevented the likes of Mothra, King Ghidorah and Rodan from making an appearance, though a report brought forward by Deadline may just blow any lingering criticisms out of the water.

The Wonder Years
Cast: Fred Savage, Josh Saviano, Danica McKellar, Dan Lauria, Alley Mills, Daniel Stern, Jason Hervey
Due Out: October 7, 2014
Who’S It For? “The Wonder Years” is timeless. Thankfully it doesn’t feel dated simply because I was a child of the ’80s trying to understand life in the late ’60s. “The Wonder Years” was my gateway drug to a nostalgia I didn’t even know. Like many of you, I grew up with Kevin. I hoped for Winnie, I had friends like Paul (and probably was Paul more than I realized).
I can’t wait to show “The Wonder Years” to my son. I’ll have to wait, because he hasn’t even turned two yet, but now I have six episodes to show him, and hopefully that will just be the beginning.

What did Jason Statham get up to before he became an action superstar? Hint: it involved quite a lot of metallic body paint...
The other week, a piece of footage hit the internet which sent ripples through the very foundations of our culture. It wasn’t an alternative angle on the Zapruder footage. It didn’t show a well-loved celebrity being debauched in a hotel room. It wasn’t a leak of the Star Wars: Episode VII trailer. No, it was the BBC posting a clip of a young Jason Statham diving for England at the 1990 Commonwealth Games.
It took us back to a time when names like Chev Chelios, Frank Martin and Lee Christmas were just twinkles in a screenwriter’s eye. Back to the 90s, when The Stath was merely a diver-turned-male-model, jobbing his way in adverts and music videos. Come with us now...
