Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine is headed for Britain. The Candle Media-owned production company is launching an unscripted division in the UK, and is already developing its first production with terrestrial network Channel 4.
Hello Sunshine Unscripted UK will be led by Sarah Lazenby, a former Channel 4 Head of Features and Formats who left the broadcaster last year. While at the British public service broadcaster, she oversaw major titles such as The Great British Bake Off, Jamie Oliver’s programs and formats such as Flirty Dancing and Netflix co-pro Crazy Delicious. More recently she produced HBO’s Emmy-nominated retrospective special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.
Lazenby will be Executive Vice President, Unscripted UK and report to Hello Sunshine’s Head of Unscripted Sara Rea. Hello Sunshine last year acquired Rea’s company Skr Productions, which was behind Prime Video’s Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn series Making the Cut.

If your DVR has started to seem a little emptier these days, it’s not just your imagination: We’re less than halfway through 2020, and nearly 40 series have already aired their very last episodes.
Whether they said goodbye with a predetermined final season or fell victim to a premature cancellation, more than three dozen shows — across broadcast, cable and streaming — have thus far left our screens this year. (And we hate to pour salt in that wound, but broadcast TV alone still has 25 scripted series that might get a visit from the Grim Reaper in the weeks ahead.)

During the regular 2018-19 season, Fox launched just four new scripted shows and cancelled them all. Was it due to the expectation of the big sale to Disney? How will the network do in the ratings in the 2019-20 season? How many of their TV shows will be cancelled or renewed? Stay tuned.
How do the execs decide what to cancel or keep? They look at a lot of different factors but the ratings play a very large role. The higher the ratings, the better the chances a show has of surviving.
Fox shows this season (so far): 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Lone Star, Almost Family, Bless The Harts, Bob's Burgers, Deputy, Duncanville, Empire, Family Guy, Flirty Dancing, Gordon Ramsay's 24 Hours to Hell and Back, Last Man Standing, Lego Masters, The Masked Singer, The Moodys, Outmatched, Prodigal Son, The Resident, and The Simpsons.Read More…...

Fox has ordered a reality show about a woman on the hunt for a man with whom she can father a child.
“Sex and the City” alum Kristin Davis will host “Labor of Love,” which will bow on the broadcaster on May 21. Former “Bachelor” contestant Kristy Katzmann will be the subject of the eight-episode series, during which she will meet 15 men who will go through a series of challenges to prove their fatherhood and relationship skills.
If they are successful, the aspiring fathers-to-be will advance to the next week. After eight weeks Katzmann, with Davis’ help, will decide if she has found the man with whom she’d like to settle down and start a family or if she’d rather continue on the path to motherhood on her own.
The project has been in development at Fox since 2017.

It’s now official: Almost Family will not be returning for a second season on Fox. The writing was on the wall after the family drama series did not receive a back order and was left off the network’s midseason schedule. It was then pulled from its Wednesday slot for its last two episodes and relegated to Saturdays, concluding its 13-episode season on February 22.
While there was no expectation for Almost Family to come back, the broadcast networks tend to delay official cancellation decisions until May. Fox confirmed Almost Family‘s demise amid controversy surrounding series star Timothy Hutton who in a report published today was accused by a woman of sexual assault in 1983 when she was 14, accusation he vigorously denies.
Starring Hutton and Brittany Snow, Almost Family, based on the Australia series Sisters, was a soft ratings performer in the fall, not taking advantage of its Masked Singer lead-in.

Fox describes the series as “part performance, part blind date.” The series, based on the U.K. series of the same name, sees two complete strangers learn half of a dance routine, and then perform the full routine together on a blind date.
