First, what's wrong with it. This appears to be the Year of the Gay on TV. Gays are about 4.5% of the population (1 in 22), but seem to be cast in 90% of the TV shows this year. Then there's the totally ludicrous founding idea that a judge ordered the city to hire a female chief of police. Not even slightly legally-viable.
Now for the good. It instantly reminded me of LA Law with the snappy, bantering dialog and one liners. IF (big IF) it can make this work, I think it will be a good show, but it will be a very hard line to walk. I've mentally identified it as a dramedy which means I'll give it more leeway than a pure police procedural would get. I'm hoping it doesn't disappoint.
