Festival of the Living Dead is not only the latest Tubi Original, it’s the latest film from Jen and Sylvia Soska. That’s a bit of a come down for the sisters, who, after Dead Hooker in a Trunk and American Mary, were loudly proclaimed to be the future of horror. Dave Parker, who was in the same position some years back, recently used a Tubi Original, You Shouldn’t Have Let Me In to prove he can still make an entertaining film. Can the Soska Sisters do the same?
Ash and Iris are looking to do something to celebrate Ash’s birthday. Her boyfriend Kevin and some friends stop by with a birthday present, tickets to the titular Festival of the Living Dead.

Plot: Fearing a witch’s curse is going to make her turn into a werewolf, Lucy heads to an abandoned camp with her friend Karen to wait out the full moon. But lycanthropy may be the least of their problems.
Review: The horror comedy Shaky Shivers takes its title from a cold, sweet concoction created by ice cream shop worker Karen (VyVy Nguyen), but we never actually learn what ingredients she has put into this treat. The movie itself is quite a blend of sub-genres, featuring lycanthropy, zombies, a witch, cultists, a Trapper Keeper Necronomicon, a Bigfoot enthusiast… and maybe even an appearance by Bigfoot itself.
Karen works at the aforementioned ice cream shop with her pal Lucy (Brooke Markham), and when a witchy woodsy woman called Mama Nature (played by Erin Daniels of Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses) comes in after closing time, wielding an odd puppet and asking for food,...

One of the greatest horror-comedies of all time, Dan O’Bannon’s 1985 movie The Return of the Living Dead ended up launching a franchise that to date includes five total movies, but you mostly only hear horror fans talking about the first three. The first sequel came in 1988 and featured returning actors, but 1993’s Brian Yuzna-directed Return of the Living Dead 3 went in an entirely different direction with a wildly different storyline. It’s become a cult classic in recent years, thanks in large part to its central villain, a sexy zombie played by Melinda Clarke.
And then we got Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis and Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave, both released direct-to-television in 2005. Why don’t horror fans talk about them? Well, they took the franchise down a not-quite-desirable path, the two films cheaply made and shot at the same time. And...

Almost forty years ago, writer/director Dan O’Bannon delivered one of the most highly entertaining zombie movies of all time with The Return of the Living Dead (watch it Here)… and in the process, spawned a franchise. There was the goofy comedy of The Return of the Living Dead Part II, the “Romeo and Juliet with zombies” love story Return of the Living Dead ///, and a couple sequels nobody paid much attention to, Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis and Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave. The franchise has been dormant for eighteen years – but it may be revived very soon. It has come to our attention that Muck and Kill Her Goats director Steve Wolsh, who also happens to be the CEO of the company Living Dead Media, is developing a reboot of The Return of the Living Dead.
The only information on this reboot can...

Hey, kid! Wanna buy a zombie movie? Shock stumbled upon this interesting Ebay auction in which the producers of the 5th (and arguably worst) Return Of The Living Dead sequel, Ellory Elkayem’s 2005 thingie Return Of The Living Dead: Rave To The Grave, are selling off the entire cannibalistic kit and caboodle. That’s right, according…

Sometimes that unapproving stare is more powerful than any bite to the brain.
We've got nothing but respect for "Warm Bodies" if only because it attempts to tell a love story featuring a damn zombie. That's quite the ambitious undertaking, as zombies are hard to love with their constant lumbering about and stinking up the place and trying to eat you and all that. Not our idea of romance, at least not during waking hours. (...)
But the worst thing about a zombie is how it can't help but sometimes make you feel two inches tall with a certain unapproving look that only the undead can pull off. Just because you might need a little more humility and self-doubt in your life, here are some shots of zombies judging you from some of your favorite zombie movies.

American Horror Story: Asylum Seventh Teaser - Rave in the Asylum
It's Friday and the official Facebook page for American Horror Story: Asylum has released another clip of crazy for us to feast our eyes on.
This clip, which hasn't been officially named yet, returns to the arcanic format of previous teasers that yesterday's clip deviated from. Popular theory on the Facebook page says that the bucket in the "Special Delivery" teaser is the same one used in this one. But the most disturbing part of the clip, other than the horrendous techno music, has to be the mental patients as they hungrily reach for the bucket of gore, or whatever contents of said bucket might be. I wouldn't go as far as saying that the patients are cannibals or what have you, but the image channeled zombies, or some other form of cannibalism. Freaked out much? Yes, indeed. Take...

Monsters are a dime a dozen and have been throughout history. There’s the Vampire; the Werewolf; the Centaur; the Fish Man; the Fly Man; the Ghost and the Goblin. And it doesn’t end there, the list goes on and on into the shadows but it only needs to be observed to realise that we love a good miscreation more than we possibly should.
But let’s examine the word itself – Monster. It’s derived from the Latin word monstrare which is ‘to show, point out or reveal’ (also intrinsic in the etymology of the word ‘demonstrate’). In order to truly terrify, a monster must reveal to us something in ourselves – something we may not necessarily want to acknowledge. This is why the Zombie endures even as other monsters are committed to history – our survival instinct forces us to fear our mortality and so most of us refuse to truly recognize it.
