Jelly Roll (real name Jason DeFord) is pumped up after accomplishing his goal.
It’s no secret that the country music superstar has faced scrutiny for his appearance. For years, Jelly Roll has fielded unkind remarks about his heavily tattooed body and weight.
Being thrust into the spotlight over the last few years hasn’t helped. However, he decided to get up and do something about it, leading to him completing his first 5K earlier this week.
After sharing that he lost 70-something pounds recently, Jelly Roll also revealed his plans to do a 5K. He did just that earlier this week, and the moment was special for the Need A Favor singer.
Comedians Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer hosted the event as part of the Netflix is a Joke comedy festival. The duo hosted the 2 Bears 1 Cave podcast and participated alongside Jelly Roll.

Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson are two of the hardest workers in the industry. Along with that, they seem to have a bit of a friendly rivalry going on regarding which one of them works harder. So, what did both country music heavy hitters have to say?
Jelly Roll Is Keeping His Momentum Going
After the breakout year that Jelly Roll had in 2023, no one would blame him if he chose to coast into 2024 and rest on his recent accolades. However, after how many years it took Jelly to climb to the top, he is not letting anything stop him from continuing his success, even if that means working harder than his peers to achieve his goals.
When it comes to work ethic and keeping the train rolling, Jelly Roll recognizes that same fire and tenacity in fellow country artist, Lainey Wilson. Jelly Roll recently recalled running into Lainey Wilson back in 2023. At the time,...

Drugs Never Seemed like a problem to Elvie Shane. Dabbling in cocaine, meth, and heroin were all part of the future country singer’s college days in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Even when he got hooked on speed, the dangers didn’t seem real. He could take it or leave it, he figured, a good time for whenever he had the money.

Jelly Roll has given out a lot of hugs, particularly since he has blown up on the charts and racked up numerous awards. In fact, the Save Me singer recently gave a lot of hugs at the CMT Awards, and, the way many people who have been hugged by Jelly tell it, he has the secret to the best hugs.
Jelly Roll Is A Big Softie
Don’t let the tattoos, rap sheet, and overall image fool you. At the heart of it all, Jelly Roll is a big softie. The singer is literally a big teddy bear. One of the benefits that comes with that, is that he seems to have figured out the secret to giving out the best hugs in the business.

Katy Perry is out after this season of American Idol wraps.
The announcement came before Season 22 debuted, and as the contestant pool narrows down and it gets closer to crowning a winner, there is some concern about who will step in and fill her seat at the table.
When ABC revived American Idol, the network brought together Katy, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan to work some television magic.
The trio has hosted the show since the revival in 2018, and after seven seasons, Katy is set to walk away.
While names have been tossed around here and there since her exit was announced, a recent mentor appears to top her list of who should replace her.
That’s right, Katy is here for Jelly Roll possibly taking over the third judge chair on the panel.

Jelly Roll (real name Jason DeFord) is arguably one of the biggest stars in music right now.
While initially debuting in the country genre, he quickly crossed to the pop charts.
The Save Me singer has made no bones about who he is and where he came from. His looks and voice are authentic.
During his recent appearance on the CMT Music Awards, Jelly Roll was noticeably slimmer as he walked the red carpet with his wife, Bunnie Xo. The pair have been together through the ups and downs, and recently, there’s been more ups than downs.
Jelly Roll hasn’t changed much as his rise to fame continues to climb. He remains the same in fashion and looks but is slimming down.
In preparation for a 5k next month in Pasadena, California, the singer has put his health front and center and shed over 70 pounds.

Fans of Marcus King might get a bit of a surprise when they throw on his new record. The South Carolina native built his success on his double-barrel growl of a voice and roiling, capacious guitar crunch, which placed him squarely in the Southern jam-band tradition. King’s last LP, 2022’s Young Blood, was a rugged set of Seventies guitar rock recorded with artisanal throwback specificity at Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Studio in Nashville. On his new one, King pairs with another production titan, Rick Rubin, who helps him...

There aren’t a lot of precedents in pop music for the pairing of Billie Eilish and Finneas, when it comes to brother-and-sister performing or songwriting duos. But in the world of music for films, it might not be too soon to start considering a comparison with a very famous married duo: Alan and Marilyn Bergman, the long-reigning king and queen of movie theme songs. The Bergmans weren’t a fully self-contained songwriting unit; they primarily worked as lyricists, joining up with outside composers like Michel Legrand or Marvin Hamlisch on Oscar-winning material like “The Windmills of Your Mind,” “The Way We Were” and the song score of “Yentl.” But it’s their names that are synonymous with film songs like few others’. Could it be that the O’Connells are following in their footsteps?

Jelly Roll delivered his latest confessional to the late-night stage on Tuesday with “Halfway to Hell,” the first track from his new record Whitsitt Chapel.
Backed by his band, the Tennessee singer performed the rocker about being caught between “a county jail revival” and “a bottle and a Bible,” as he asks himself (a familiar theme throughout his work) if he’s “worth savin’ if I’m always fadin’?”
“This little light of mine damn near burned me alive/Lord knows that Mama tried,” sings Jelly Roll, before admitting he’s still at a crossroads.

CMA Awards voters love Lainey Wilson. The singer ran far ahead of the pack as nominations for the 57th annual Country Music Association Awards were announced Thursday, picking up nine nods, nearly twice as many as the nearest finisher, Jelly Roll, who got five. Luke Combs and Hardy followed with four apiece.
Part of the hat trick Wilson pulled off was landing a nomination for the top prize, entertainer of the year. The CMA tends to make up-and-coming artists wait until they have been headlining arenas for a while before they are admitted into that august category, even if they lead the field of nominees otherwise. But Wilson picked up her entertainer of the year nod while she is only on her second major-label album and has still mostly been an opener on the biggest bills, indicating just how quickly Nashville has embraced her as a mascot for the future of country music.

MGM+, which was previously named Epix, has picked up limited thriller series “A Spy Among Friends.” The new series is based on the New York Times best-selling novel written by Ben Macintyre. It’s set to premiere in 2023.
The six-episode crime drama will reimagine the real-life story of two British spies — Nicholas Elliott and Kim Philby — who are also longtime fiends. “[Philby] became the most notorious British defector and Soviet double agent in history. Philby’s deeply personal betrayal, uncovered at the height of the Cold War, resulted in the gutting of British and American intelligence,” reads a description for the series.
“A Spy Among Friends” stars award-winning actor Damian Lewis and Emmy winner Guy Pearce. Other cast members includes Anna Maxwell, Stephen Kunken, and Adrian Edmondson.

Exclusive: Even before the pandemic, the foreign sales market became mired down with some risky bets, i.e. the over exorbitant Roland Emmerich sci-fi disaster title Moonfall which carried a 140M production cost (resulting in a 44.3M WW gross), and Simon Kinberg’s femme spy ensemble The 355 at a 75M cost (which grossed just under 28M WW).
But there’s arguably a safer way to make moolah in the foreign sales sphere and that’s off of YA feature adaptations.
True, it’s been a while since the grand slam days of Lionsgate’s Hunger Games series and Summit International’s Twilight franchise, however, these movies can be made off a low cost yielding singles, doubles, or even home runs at the box office. Or worst case scenario, be in the black simply off their sales to streamers. And if a movie strikes out, it doesn’t sting so...

Is the years-long “The Voice” instant save curse about to be broken? If Blake Shelton‘s Americana singer Jordan Matthew Young ends up winning Season 20 during Tuesday’s grand finale, he’ll make history as the first artist to prevail who was previously saved by social media users. Since the instant save twist was first created in Season 6, none of its recipients have ever gone on to win “The Voice.” Britton Buchanan (Season 14) and Toneisha Harris (Season 18) came closest by each placing second behind their winners, but all of the other times the saved artist finished near the bottom of their respective finales.

There were many amazing musical performances on Joe Biden’s inauguration day, including Lady Gaga’s stunning rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” at the swearing-in ceremony, Bruce Springsteen playing “Land of Hope and Dreams” on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial at the Celebrating America concert, and Katy Perry wrapping up the unforgettable day by singing “Firework” as actual fireworks lit up the Washington, D.C., sky.

The New Radicals broke up in 1999, just months after their anthemic single “You Get What You Give” became a hit all over the world. They’ve subsequently rejected all offers to reunite over the past 22 years. But just about a week ago, New Radicals frontman Gregg Alexander finally got an offer he couldn’t turn down: The Biden-Harris administration wanted him to play “You Get What You Give” at their virtual “Parade Across America.”

Innocence of Muslims / 'Desert Warrior' director Alan Roberts best-known for '70s soft-core porn The polemical anti-Islam "film" (actually, a cheap, grade Z amateur video), now has not only a producer, but also a director. The "Israeli entrepreneur Sam Bacile" has been exposed as the Egyptian Coptic Christian Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, who allegedly misled all (or most) involved in the production. And Gawker has reported that Alan Roberts aka Robert Brownell, the director of a handful of softcore porn movies in the '70s and early '80s, helmed "Desert Warrior," a cheesy Arabian adventure that was to become -- following some sloppy overdubbing -- Innocence of Muslims. Besides the now infamous Islamophobic YouTube sensation, which has been blamed for riots in several Muslim countries from Tunisia to Pakistan, Alan Roberts' movie credits include several now long forgotten titles. (Please scroll down for more details.) Alan Roberts also produced several little-known movies,...

In the latest twist to the Innocence of Muslims saga -- the amateurishly made anti-Islamic film that set off anti-u.S. riots worldwide that claimed the life of Ambassador Christopher Stevens -- several websites are claiming the director listed in the film credits as Alan Roberts is the same Alan Roberts who helmed a number of low-budget films throughout the '70s, '80s and '90s. IMDb lists Roberts' credits, which include softcore sexploitation fare like The Happy Hooker Goes Hollywood (1980) and Young Lady Chatterley (1977), the action movie Karate Cop (1991) and the erotic thriller Save Me (1994), starring Harry Hamlin. Q&A: 'Innocence of Muslims'
