After that messy, messy end to Season 1, we’ll get to see what’s next for Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen (Jackson White). Hulu has renewed Tell Me Lies for a second season. The series follows Lucy and Stephen’s tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over the course of eight years. They meet at college, and what unfolds affects everyone around them. The first season also starred Catherine Missal, Spencer House, Sonia Mena, Branden Cook, Benjamin Wadsworth, and Alicia Crowder. In the finale, flashbacks showed Stephen driving the night Macy (Lily McInerny) died. Plus, Lucy watched as he left a college party with his ex, Diana (Crowder), then got drunk with Bree’s (Missal) boyfriend Evan (Cook) and woke up in bed with him the next morning. Meanwhile, at the party in 2015, Lucy and Stephen reunited… right before his fiancée, her (former) best friend, Lydia (Natalee Linez), joined them.

Hulu has renewed soapy college drama “Tell Me Lies” for Season 2, one month after the first season finale hit the streaming service.
“Tell Me Lies” documents the tumultuous relationship between then college students Lucy and Stephen as it unfolds over eight years, with its first season hinging on the mysterious death of Lucy’s first year roommate.
Though no official Season 2 release date or information about cast or plot are known, executive producer and showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer told TheWrap before the renewal that a potential second season would showcase more of the characters’ adult years starting with the engagement party, while also picking up where the series left off in college.
Oppenheimer also teased in October that potential future episodes will shine a light on other ensemble characters, namely Diana and Bree, since “everyone wants a lot more Bree.”

Typically, it probably wouldn’t be a good thing that, after five hourlong episodes — halfway into the season! — I still don’t quite know what to make of Stephen (Jackson White), the male lead of Hulu’s Tell Me Lies. Here, though, it’s just proof the show is working exactly as intended.
Whenever he starts to tiptoe toward full-on villainy, the series will grant him a hearbreaking reveal or a moment of genuine sweetness; whenever he threatens to seem too likable, it’ll drop in a casual reminder of how breathtakingly callous he can be. The push-pull puts us more or less in the same shoes as protagonist Lucy (Grace Van Patten), who spends years wriggling on his hook before she’s finally able to cut herself free — and it’s that keen understanding of the psychology driving its central relationship that...

"Three things I got good at to survive: running, fighting, and stealing." HBO Max has unveiled a full trailer for their new adaptation of the beloved book titled The Time Traveler's Wife. This is another new take on the book, as they already made the The Time Traveler's Wife movie, with Eric Bana & Rachel McAdams, which first opened in 2009. This new series stars Rose Leslie & Theo James as the couple dealing with the challenges of random time travel. For those unfamilair with this, it's not so much of a story about time travel as it is a romance about the difficulties of finding and staying in love. "Every moment matters," the tagline states. The cast also includes Jason David, Kate Siegel, Jaime Ray Newman, Josh Stamberg, Taylor Richardson, Spencer House, & Michael Park. Wow this looks damn good, I quite like the way into gets into all these existential questions between the two of them.

The darkly funny American indie drama “Small Engine Repair” works best when it’s a hangout comedy starring three schlubby New England burnouts.
Based on writer-director John Pollono’s stage play, “Small Engine Repair” eventually becomes an unpleasant slow-burning thriller about revenge, sexual violence and toxic masculinity. Thankfully Pollono and his fellow co-leads, Jon Bernthal and Shea Whigham, carry the movie throughout with some choice one-liners and abundant bromantic chemistry.
Pollono, Bernthal and Whigham keep things light, believable, and charming enough, even after the abrupt and seemingly random arrival of preppy drug dealer Chad threatens to ruin the movie’s otherwise aimless fun. Chad pushes “Small Engine Repair” into unexpectedly dark territory, the kind that invites comparisons with real-life sexual predators like Brett Kavanaugh and other prominent politicians. Pollono’s affable drama doesn’t say much about its characters’ boozy locker talk, but it does hold together well enough thanks...

Frankie (John Pollono), Swaino (Jon Bernthal) and Packie (Shea Wigham) are lifelong friends who share a love of the Red Sox, rowdy bars and Frankie’s teenaged daughter Crystal (Ciara Bravo). But when Frankie invites his pals to a whiskey-fueled evening and asks them to do a favor on behalf of the brash young woman they all adore, events spin wildly out of control. Based on Pollono’s award-winning play, Small Engine Repair is a pitch-black comedic drama with a wicked twist and a powerful exploration of brotherhood, class struggle and toxic masculinity.
Small Engine Repair stars Jon Bernthal, Shea Whigham, Jordana Spiro, John Pollono, Ciara Bravo, and Spencer House and is rated R.

"I wanted tonight to be special." Vertical Entertainment has released a full trailer for an indie film titled Small Engine Repair, a feature film adaptation of the stage play by John Pollono. This was originally set to premiere at last year's SXSW Film Festival before it was cancelled. Pollono writes and directs, making his feature directorial debut, and co-stars in it with an impressive cast. It's better to know as little about this story going into it. The seemingly casual reunion of three old friends at an out-of-the-way repair shop masks a hidden agenda fueled by the arrival of a privileged young yuppie. This is described as a "black comedy that takes a dark dramatic turn" - and oh boy does it take a turn. The trailer also features some very nice quotes from various other directors, including one from Edgar Wright. Starring Jon Bernthal, Shea Whigham, John Pollono, Jordana Spiro,...

Judy Greer is going to Washington. The actress has been cast opposite Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux in HBO’s The White House Plumbers, our sister site Deadline reports.
From a trio of Veep executive producers, the five-part limited series — which is partly based on Egil “Bud” Krogh and Matthew Krogh’s Integrity — tells the true story of “how Nixon’s own political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds, E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, accidentally toppled the presidency they zealously were trying to protect.”

Exclusive: Small Engine Repair, the indie adaptation of John Pollono’s play, finally gets its big screen moment as it tries to find theatrical distribution the only way it is done in Los Angeles these days — at the drive-in. Written and directed by Pollono a decade after it became an underground stage hit in LA, the film will be screened by 30West and CAA Media Finance for buyers at The Electric Dusk Drive-In on Wednesday. I wrote about the film in April in a Coping With Covid-19 column, this after its SXSW premiere got cancelled along with the festival because the pandemic shut down everything.
Small Engine Repair stars Pollono, Jon Bernthal, Shea Whigham, Jordana Spiro, Ciara Bravo and Spencer House. The film revolves around blue collar childhood buddies Frank (Pollono), Swaino (Bernthal) and Packie (Whigham). Even when they brawl which is often, the trio is deeply bonded over the...

Netflix's new comedy Teenage Bounty Hunters centers on a pair of twins, Sterling and Blair, who team up with an established bounty hunter to track down bad guys and collect the rewards. So are the actresses actually twins in real life, or is this just a case of really good casting?
Although they certainly look like they could be twins in real life, actresses Maddie Phillips and Anjelica Bette Fellini, both 25, aren't even related at all. Fellini is still very much a newcomer to the business. Her most recognizable role has been on the superhero drama The Gifted, where she played Rebecca, aka "Twist." Her only other credits are the movies Sid Is Dead and The French Dispatch.
Phillips, on the other hand, has acting roles going back to 2013. For the most part, she's had one-time guest roles on established shows, including spots on Lucifer, iZombie, and Supernatural. She's...

Netflix's quirky action comedy Teenage Bounty Hunters is one of the newest shows on the platform, but we're already wondering if there will be a second season. The show, which follows a pair of teenage twins as they team up with a pro bounty hunter to track down baddies, still has its future very much up in the air.
Right now, there hasn't been any word about whether the show has been renewed for a second season or if it's going to be cancelled. For a little while, at least, we really can't expect to hear any news. Aside from its most popular, attention-grabbing titles, Netflix rarely renews shows immediately, and even then, it can take weeks or months after the initial release for the news to break. Since the first season is just debuting on Aug. 14, it's far too early to expect Netflix to have made a decision one way or the other.

In a world of frustratingly vague TV show titles like Reprisal, Dark, and Run, some titles have the moral courage to stand up and declare their intentions, loud and proud. Such is the case with Netflix’s latest teenage action comedy. It’s called Teenage Bounty Hunters and you will absolutely guess what it’s all about.
Teenage Bounty Hunters stars Maddie Phillips and Anjelica Bette Fellini as fraternal twins and best friends Sterling and Blair Wesley. As the show’s title so helpfully implies, Sterling and Blair are 16-year-old bounty hunters. Netflix’s full synopsis of the show reads:
“Rebelling against their buttoned-up Southern community, sixteen-year-old fraternal twin sisters Sterling (Maddie Phillips) and Blair (Anjelica Bette Fellini) Wesley team up with veteran bounty hunter Bowser Jenkins (Kadeem Hardison) for an over-the-top adventure as they dive into the world of bail skipping baddies and suburban secrets while trying to navigate high school drama — love,...

Catherine Walker & Co is celebrating the brand’s 40th anniversary with a three-day private exhibition featuring several dresses worn by their most famous client, Princess Diana. The event, which spans four decades of fashion design, further reveals the close relationship between the late royal and her favorite fashion house.
One of the outfits, a stunning white lace halter-style evening dress with embroidered pearls, sequins and crystals worn by the princess to a gala in Washington in 1996, is displayed for the first time. Alongside it sits a heartfelt note of praise from the then recently-divorced Diana.

It was a whimsical red carpet for Beauty and the Beast stars Emma Watson and Dan Stevens on Thursday evening.
The 26-year-old actress looked like a real-life princess as she posed alongside her handsome co-star during the premiere of Disney's live-action film at the Spencer House in London, England. Watson was dressed in an elegant light blue Emilia Wickstead gown, complete with a cape and long train. Letting the dress do all the talking, she kept her accessories simple and swept up her hair into a braided crown.

Lily James had her "Cinderella moment" in 2015, and now it's Emma Watson's turn to shine. Watson and her Beauty and the Beast co-stars kicked off their worldwide promotional tour in Paris earlier in the week. On Thursday, the 26-year-old actress looked like a real-life Disney princess at Spencer House in London, wearing a bespoke, eco-conscious Emilia Wickstead dress. Rebecca Corbin-Murray—who also works with James—styled her instantly ionic premiere look. Before the press tour began, Watson and Corbin-Murray jointly created a new Instagram account, called The Press Tour, to highlight the sustainable pieces the actress has been wearing. It's a noble cause, particularly as...
