Michael Caine, Lena Headey, and Rafferty Law in Twist (2021)
Inspired by Charles Dickens's iconic novel OLIVER TWIST, this action-fueled crime-thriller set in contemporary London follows the journey of Twist (Raff Law), a gifted graffiti artist trying to find his way after the loss of his mother. Lured into a street gang headed by the paternal Fagin (Oscar® winner Michael Caine), Twist is attracted to the lifestyle - and to Red (Sophie Simnett), an alluring member of Fagin's crew. But when an art theft goes wrong, Twist's moral code is tested as he's caught between Fagin, the police, and a loose-cannon enforcer (Lena Headey).

      The Rotten Tomatoes critics consensus reads "The real Twist in this lunkheaded Dickens update is the involvement of Michael Caine, who hopefully got another terrific house out of it." This is a reference to Tappajahain kosto (1987), a legendary cinematic turkey for which Sir Michael Caine was paid handsomely. Caine later admitted "I have never seen it [Jaws: The Revenge], but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific."

      At around the 58 minute mark when the van and Sikes car are driving under the bridge both vehicles have their lights on as it is starting to get dark. However, in the next scene when the van is stopped at the roadblock it is broad daylight again.

    Silly plot, poor writing, terrible acting
    Other reviews have criticised Twist for being a Parkour film. I would say that this is its only redeeming feature. It would be wrong to call all of the acting "wooden" but the overall standard is very low and Rita Ora must know this is not her strong suit. The references to Twist, Dodge, Fagin and Sykes just remind you that you could be watching a much (much) better film. The dialogue is clumsy and mechanical, with youth references crowbarred in with unintended comedic consequences. But some of the running and jumping is very good!
