It’s been over 10 years since Adam Lambert famously lost the “American Idol” title to singer-songwriter Kris Allen and fans are still adamant he was robbed. In a recent poll we asked our readers which runner-up from the past 17 seasons of “Idol” most deserved to win and Lambert won by an absolute landslide. With 74% of the vote, he is by far the most beloved second-place finisher.
Finishing a distant second place in our poll with 8% of the vote was Season 2’s Clay Aiken, who lost to Ruben Studdard in the closest finale vote in “American Idol” history. Last year’s finalist Alejandro Aranda snagged 6% after losing to country singer Laine Hardy. Katharine McPhee finished in fourth place with 4% of voters who thought she should have defeated Taylor Hicks in Season 5.

“American Idol” has reached the Top 20 stage of the competition. We’ve already seen this score of contestants sing their solos for judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Next up, each of these would-be winners of season 17 will be paired with a celebrity act to perform a duet. These episodes will air on April 7 and 8. Monday’s night show will conclude with the big reveal from Ryan Seacrest as to which of these artists made the Top 14 and get to go on to the live shows.
The Top 20 were divided into two groups for this duets portion of the program. Group 1 will be showcased on Sunday while Group 2 will take to the stage on Monday. Because these shows were taped months ago, we were able to unearth the names of the contestants in each group as well as the famous faces they were paired with and the songs they performed.

Maybe it’s because I never even heard Sly and the Family Stone’s “Thank you” before but come on Wild Cherry! “Play that Funky Music White Boy” is a total rip off. Sly’s song came out in 1969 and Wild Cherry’s came out in 1976. I cannot find one lawsuit, not one complaint, nothing. Am I completely missing something here? Have I not researched it enough? How could Sly and the Family Stone not be pissed off at this? Trust me when I say music is ripped all the time and there are fine lines. But this is no fine line

On Wednesday’s second episode of the two-week Sing-Off event, it was time to settle into the silliness with “Party Anthems.” Considering that almost every song performed on the premiere was also a party anthem, I think the theme is just to give some specificity to Nick Lachey’s punnery. Because if you gave him free reign, he could literally go on for the whole two weeks without stopping. I would never suggest irresponsible consumption, but taking a sip of something every time Nick turns a “party” phrase might be an interesting thing to do.

The X Factor's Sam Callahan has said that he wants to be recognised for his songwriting rather than his body.
The 19-year-old - who recently posed shirtless for a Heat magazine photo shoot - exclusively told Digital Spy that although he's proud of his physique, he would prefer it if people focused on his musical talents.
"I embrace all that stuff," he explained. "If I didn't want it I wouldn't work on myself to look that way, but I want to be a credible musician.
"I wouldn't be here if I just wanted to do half-naked photo shoots. I write my own music [and] I have since I was about 13."
Following the judges' criticism of his vocals in the first Live Show, Callahan also admitted that his range isn't as extensive as some other contestants'.
"I definitely haven't got the strongest vocals in the competition," he said. "[But] I think everyone...

There were a whole lot of girls on last week’s Billboard "Hot Country Songs" chart. There’s the girl in the current country No. 1, Luke Bryan’s “That’s My Kinda Night”: “You got that suntan skirt and boots / Waiting on you to look my way and scoot / Your little hot self over here / Girl, hand me another beer.” Bryan’s hottie bears some resemblance to the girl in the Nos. 2 and 3 songs, “Cruise” and “Round Here,” both by bro-country tyros Florida Georgia Line. (In “Cruise,” she wears a “bikini top on her” and boasts “them long tanned legs”; in “Round Here,” she has “Wild Cherry on her lips” and “the jeans with a tear that her mama never fixed.”) There’s the girl in the song at No. 4, “Night Train,” whom Jason Aldean takes to the edge of town to snuggle under a blanket and sip Southern Comfort,...

"The Voice" kicked off part one of the finale with a touching tribute to the victims of the Newtown shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. With candles lining the stage, each of the four coaches, the Top 3, host Carson Daly and some of the former "Voice" contestants from Season 3 held a sign with the name and age of one of the victims as they sang Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah."
It was a moving beginning -- reminiscent of the children's choir that sang "Silent Night" at the start of this past week's "Saturday Night Live" -- and the screen went silent before regularly scheduled programming commenced.
For the final performance night of "The Voice," each of the Top 3 -- Cassadee Pope and Terry McDermott of Team Blake and Nicholas David of Team Cee Lo -- is taking the stage three times: singing a new song, their breakout song from earlier the...

Monday night's The Voice gave the final three contestants three chances to earn fans' votes, as every singer revisited a "breakout" song, sang a new song and performed a duet with his or her coach.
First, however, came a touching tribute to the victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy. While singing Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," coaches and singers held up the names of those whose lives were lost on Friday morning.
Team Cee Lo's Nicholas David then kicked off the competition with Jerry Lee Lewis's "Great Balls of Fire." Not able to resist a pun, his coach chimed in...

Welcome to The Voice‘s Season 3 finale: Rated Eh…for Excessive Hyperbole!
Shudder as Carson Daly introduces contestant Terry McDermott’s reprise of a Foreigner track by calling it “the song that defined him as a true rock star.” (Wait, I thought he was still a contestant on a reality singing competition!)

Los Angeles — For eight seasons, Marc Cherry has woven conflict, mystery and death into the story lines of ABC's "Desperate Housewives," but soon 12 jurors will be the ones supplying suspense for the veteran television writer.
Deliberations in actress Nicollette Sheridan's wrongful termination lawsuit begin this week, with the panel deciding whether they believe the actress was fired after complaining Cherry, the series' creator and show-runner, struck her on the set. He denies walloping her and contends her demise from the hit series was a long-planned plot point.
Seven days of testimony have revealed conflicting stories that could easily have been scripted in the "Housewives" writers' room, providing a fascinating look behind the scenes of a hit prime-time series, complete with financial pressures, cast conflicts and secret meetings all on display.

Forget about the alcohol! Snooki's switching to a sweeter, more bubbly alternative now that she's slapping her name on Snooki Wild Cherry Soda. We can't imagine you'll get as wild as Snooki by drinking it...unless it's got loads of Red Bull in it. Could this be Snooki's substitute for alcohol during her pregnancy? Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shops will be releasing a limited edition of "Snooki Wild Cherry Soda" -- created by the one and only Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. Snooki's brew will be available exclusively through Rocket Fizz. Her Jersey Shore pals will have to ship in Snooki's carbonated blend, though, as there are no Rocket Fizz locations in the New Jersey or the New York area. Her new cherry soda is just one of many new additions in her life -- not to mention her engagement to Jionni Lavalle and their little "ShortnTan" on the way.

Welcome back to Unreality TV’s live coverage of Dancing On Ice. We’re coming to Dancing On Ice late tonight (thanks to Got To Dance on Sky One), so here we go with the first performance. We’ll drool about Holly Willoughby later…
Kieron Richardson
Arghhhh, my eyes my eyes! What the feck is Kieron Richardson wearing? Dayglo Seventies awfulness. His wee partner looks small enough to fit in your pocket, doesn’t she? They’re doing a disco-flavoured routine to Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry. A shaky routine to say the least, ended particularly badly when he almost dropped Brianne on her head!
Points: 15. Robin: Every week is different. You were on the button with the music. Tough when you’re working with a partner who has the presence Brianne has. Not as good as last week. Jason: A lot of your movement, there’s no end to them.

As you have seen, we’ve been closely following the release of DJ Hero, the next step in rhythm gaming from Activision. Today is no exception as the company has now released the full 93 song set list for the game. While all club styled mixes, remixes and mashups, DJ Hero boasts one of the most varied collection of artists in any Hero franchise release.
With everything from the Jackson 5 to 2Pac, Daft Punk to Queen and everything in between, that variety of DJ Hero’s playlist is unmatched, as long as you like mashups and remixes. If you are a musical purist to the extreme, this game isn’t really what you’d be looking for.
In addition, the game will feature 10 tracks where players can plug in their Guitar Hero guitar and play alongside their friend on the DJ Hero turntable for a true real time rock / dance mashup.

We look back at the 'American Idol' finalists' past 11 weeks and see how they really match up.

Tuesday night's "American Idol" finale will have season-eight finalists (and roommates) Kris Allen and Adam Lambert going toe-to-toe in three rounds. Lambert is the odds-on winner come Wednesday night's results show, but we say Kris still has a fighting chance. Taking a cue from "America's Next Top Model," in which Tyra Banks does a side-by-side comparison of the two finalists' portfolios, we thought we'd break down Adam Lambert's and Kris Allen's "Idol" repertoire week-to-week to help determine who's really in the lead.
Week One: The Semifinals
Adam: The Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction"
Kris: Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror"

On Wednesday's results show, Lambert was once again voted through, making him a member of the show's Top 8. On Tuesday, American Idol finalist Adam Lambert once again brought the house down and the audience to its feet with his high-wire performance of Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music", leaving the crowd in awe. Lambert soared with the song, thanks to a special vocal arrangement that highlighted his thrilling octaves.

With growing popularity, American Idol have moved on from simple theme nights such as Country, Rock, R&B to more creative ones like Lennon & McCartney, Motown, and Tuesday (March 31) night's “most popular songs downloaded from iTunes” theme. Yes, the theme selection has turned out quite random. Tuesday night saw the contestants perform popular iTunes downloads, which meant they could select any song they wanted. The thematic makeover brought to us everything from Gwen Stefani to Wild Cherry to No Doubt, The Fray, The Hopefuls, and Rascal Flatts. Such a wide range of choices, however, led to some bad choice-making. On stage, the 'Idols' ranged from 'very good' to 'boring'.

"American Idol" is loosening up a bit on the song theme this week after the specific ones in the last three weeks, Michael Jackson, country and motown. The Top 9 get to choose out of 100 songs that sit on the top position of iTunes downloads, meaning many genres like pop and hip-hop will be heard. Also, there is no mentor this week.
First to take the stage was Anoop Desai who sang some Usher, tackling the up-beat "Caught Up". Randy Jackson immediately jabbed on the song choice, reasoning that the vocal was alright but the song was not.
