You would think that the worlds of horror and professional wrestling would meet and make magical beautiful music together, wouldn’t you? Both are brash, bright, crazy and incredibly fun when they’re good. Sadly… both are bloody awful if done poorly. I’ve seen a few movies that have attempted to blend horror and wrestling and I’m yet to see one that has done it particularly well. So… is Parts Unknown, directed and written by Richard Chandler (Witch Hunt), a wrestling horror flick that manages to blend the two mediums into an entertaining film?
It’s a simple premise, as you’d expect, with a violent family of wrestlers (not sports entertainers) who look for another way to satisfy their lust for blood.

Tagline: "All Beauty Must Die." Richard Chandler (Gilgamesh, 2014) is the writer behind the horror title Parts Unknown. His latest stars: Melantha Blackthorne (Death Race, 2008), Sarah Michelle, Alexandra Cipolla and former pro-wrestler Jake Roberts. The Von Strassers, a family of unstable wrestlers, seek to reclaim their position within the wrestling industry, through any way possible. The film's first poster and casting details are hosted here. Director Chandler has a few things to say on his latest production. He says of Parts Unknown and its story: "it's original. Whether people can get past a smaller budget or not, no one can deny that this hasn't really been done. It exists in its own world." To blend horror and wrestling does come across as original. Though, the Trick or Treat podcast does blend these two elements often in their show.

Author and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson dropped us a line to let us know that in the spring of 2013 he will be producing a new horror comedy, Dry Bones, from a screenplay he wrote for director Michael O’Hear. The film will co-star O’Hear and Melantha Blackthorne.
“I’ve written a number of screenplays for filmmakers who were unable to raise the necessary funding,” Lamberson says. “I really like the script I wrote for Michael so I’m producing it myself to ensure it gets made. Dry Bones tells the story of a man who returns to his home town years after being confined to a mental institution, only to find that the monster he imagined under his bed as a child really exists. It’s a funny throwback to slick 1980s horror comedies like Fright Night and House with a stronger gross-out factor. When it comes to micro-budget films like this and Snow Shark,...

With the recent announcement of Zombies vs. Gladiators, Amazon Studios' upcoming Clive Barker project, it's official: All you need to make a movie these days is a script whose title is composed of two nouns separated by a "vs."
This approach to moviemaking might seem simplistic and/or lazy, but it has one major thing going for it — everything you need to know about the product film is in the title. And that's a godsend to a production company's marketing department.
Obviously, this strategy must work, because producers are returning repeatedly to the Well of Versus. To illustrate my point, the following is a partial list of "vs." films:
Monsters vs. Aliens
Mega Python vs. Gatoroid
Dinocroc vs. Supergator
Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys
Eagle vs. Shark
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
Alien vs. Predator
Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem
Freddy vs. Jason
Strippers vs.
