Finding acceptance in one’s own self is the first and most important part of redemption, which is the central theme in the recently released Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver, the second movie entry in Zack Snyder’s space opera franchise. Set in the fictional galactic empire centered on Motherworld, the first part of Netflix’s Rebel Moon 1 managed to draw viewers’ attention thanks to the narrative similarity it shared with Seven Samurai and Star Wars: Rogue One, uniting a ragtag group of warriors to stand against a cosmic dictatorship, but the lack of originality in Snyder’s vision made for a rather forgettable experience. Releasing shortly after the release of the first part, the sequel had a chance to expand the lore by utilizing the creative freedom provided to the makers, but it ends up venturing merely knee-deep into the past lives of the key characters showcased in...

Fortnite, the popular battle royale, is rumored to be teaming up with Avatar: The Last Airbender for the upcoming mid-season Event Pass. Along with two variants of Aang (Fortnite style and Lego style), there will also be an opportunity for players to get the Appa Glider.
As usual, fans delved into speculation to decipher whether this is real and what it means for future collaborations of the game. But, on top of all, a section of fans are really hell-bent on Fortnite collaborating with One Piece.
Although no such collaboration has ever taken place, The Last Airbender-themed event has given rise to hope that maybe One Piece isn’t that far away.

Based on a series of novel by Jon F Merz, the titular undead Fixer comes to life in the first Lawson teaser trailer.
The age of vampires isn’t over yet, at least if you ask filmmakers. The big wigs at Marvel are (hopefully) working hard on a Blade adaptation which hasn’t been smooth sailing exactly, but there’s another eagerly anticipated, bloodsucking adaptation heading our way.
Lawson, based on Jon F Merz’s series of books, has just unveiled its first teaser trailer. According to the YouTube description, the film follows “a covert operative for a race of living vampires, as he battles a sinister conspiracy to resurrect an ancient god and an old enemy who resurfaces from his shadowy past in this supernatural espionage film”.
Take a look at the Lawson trailer below.
Interestingly, the production has cast Brandon S Stumpf as Lawson. If he looks familiar to you,...

Get ready to get medieval with the latest chapter for Dead by Daylight. Previously announced earlier this month, Dead by Daylight: Forged in Fog is available now for PC and consoles, bringing fans more lore, alongside a new Killer, Survivor, and a new map.
Dead by Daylight: Forged in Fog introduces a new Killer in The Knight, who brings fresh strategic gameplay with his Guardia Compagnia. The Knight can call on his 3 loyal AI-controlled Guards, The Carnifex, The Assassin, and The Jailer – each possessing their own unique qualities – to patrol the Map or carry out certain tasks, forcing Survivors to face off against multiple threats.

Fresh off of their Halloween festivities, Behaviour Interactive has wasted little time in announcing a brand new Chapter for Dead by Daylight. Arriving November 22, Chapter 26 “Forged in Fog” introduces a new Killer in The Knight, a new Survivor with Vittorio Toscano, and a new map in The Shattered Square.
Described as a calculating commander and formidable fighter, The Knight’s lore sees him having learned to wield weapons at a young age, gaining the undying allegiance of three loyal Guards: The Carnifex, The Assassin, and The Jailer. Earning renown and notoriety for his martial exploits, he ascended to knighthood and set his sights on a dark campaign for dominion.
The Knight’s Power, Guardia Compagnia, allows players to create a Patrol Path and summon one of three types of AI-controlled Guard, leaving a Standard Flag in position. Once summoned, that Guard can survey and patrol, hunt and chase Survivors, or damage Pallets and Generators.

Stephen Curry has come a long way since the curious case of the government plot from outer space. Five years ago — after he’d won his second NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors, and right after Donald Trump had challenged him to a Twitter war — Curry was golfing with his buddy Barack Obama when the ex-president started joking about secrets of the White House, the kind you’re not supposed to take home to Mar-a-Lago. Obama casually lined up a putt, spun around, and deadpanned: “You won’t believe what the aliens look like.

In the last decade, there has been a flourishing of films in which ageing heroes demonstrate that there is more than petanque and bingo in post-retirement life. Franchises like “Red” and “The Expendables” satisfy the collective desire to stay active and fit and never get old, and are also a vehicle for recycling old and beloved stars. But Kitano’s old bad guys of his “Ryuzo and the Seven Henchmen” are more “amiable losers” than their Hollywood heroic counterparts.

As we head into the thick of awards season, it’s time to celebrate all the incredible films that 2016 brought us. La La Land, Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea, Deadpool and Arrival will no doubt find themselves on the lips of many moviegoers over the next few weeks, while talent like Amy Adams, Casey Affleck, Emma Stone, Adam Driver and Denzel Washington, among others, will also start picking up some serious buzz.
But, as the best of the best start to take up most of the spotlight, there’s another another awards ceremony gearing up to get underway, and it’ll be celebrating very different types of movies and actors/actresses. We are, of course, referring to the Razzie Awards, which shine a light on the worst that the year had to offer. Parsing the Christmas numbers is always a challenge: when December 25 falls leads to multiple release scenarios. Immediate and intense word of mouth transforms results during a week (or more) where every day is Saturday, radically rearranging ranking order by the day.
To gain some perspective on the early results, we list the Top Ten in order of Sunday and projected Monday results rather than the three-day weekend to accommodate two expanding awards contenders, “Fences” (Paramount) and “La La Land” (Lionsgate). (All figures are noted.)
The holiday also showed a record number of platform studio openings, following in the wake of the huge success of “American Sniper” and “The Revenant” in recent years. More on “Silence,” “Hidden Figures,” “Patriots Day,...

When 2016 soon comes to its grateful end, it will be a record year at the box office. Bringing up the rear are four wide studio releases and a fifth initial expansion with “Sing” (Universal), “Assassin’s Creed” (20th Century Fox), and “Passengers” (Sony) on Wednesday, “Why Him?” (20th Century Fox) on Friday, and the national release of “Fences” (Paramount) on Christmas Day.
They will all play in the wake of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” (Disney), which should remain on top through the holidays. Meantime, “Moana” (Disney) and “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” (Warner Bros.) will hold and thrive, with the more recent “Office Christmas Party” (Paramount) and “Collateral Beauty” (Warner Bros.) joining the fray.
Top awards contenders like “La La Land” (Lionsgate), “Manchester by the Sea” (Roadside Attractions), and “Jackie” all plan to add new dates, and could do as well or better than some studio releases.

Mathieu Kassovitz was hailed as the heir to Truffaut after making La Haine in 1995. So why has he renounced French cinema after making his latest film, Rebellion?
Any doubts over Mathieu Kassovitz's feelings towards his national film industry were cleared up last year when he tweeted: "Bugger French cinema. Go fuck yourself with your shitty films." He's done with France. He's moved to Los Angeles. The tweet was in response to the César nominations, France's equivalent of the Oscars. In a field dominated by The Artist and Untouchable, Kassovitz's sober political thriller, Rebellion, received just one nomination, for best adapted screenplay.
"I wasn't hurt because they didn't want to give me a César, I was hurt because they didn't care about that kind of movie any more," says Kassovitz, who has previously won three Césars and never turned up to collect them. "It's a French story. It's craftsmanship. We...

As much as people have quibbles with (much more democratically voted-on) awards like the Oscars, the decisions by juries at film festivals tend to be even more contentious. Usually drawn from practitioners and actors, with a few other curious participants in there as well, jurors often come in with their own likes, dislikes and agendas, and in the absence of a unanimous choice, often end up settling for compromises.
Indeed, this year's Cannes Film Festival jury president Nanni Moretti said, after the awards were unveiled this past weekend, that none of the them were unanimously voted for (word is Andrea Arnold in particular was a fervent opponent of Leos Carax's "Holy Motors"). That being said, their Palme D'Or winner was a popular one: while a few critics were rooting for "Holy Motors," almost everyone was delighted that Michael Haneke's "Amour" picked up the prize (his second in four years,...

He made his name playing hoodlums and rapists, and won acclaim as Mesrine, France's most charismatic gangster. Now his latest film, Black Swan, is about ballet. Is Vincent Cassel mellowing?
It isn't a good idea to upset Vincent Cassel. This, after all, is an actor who has made his name playing a succession of complex and profoundly villainous characters. In La Haine, Cassel's breakthrough 1995 film, he was a teenage hoodlum intent on killing a policeman. In Eastern Promises, David Cronenberg's violent 2007 deconstruction of the Russian underworld in London, Cassel's character rapes a 14-year-old girl and forces her into prostitution. And in Mesrine, arguably his most acclaimed role to date, the actor portrayed one of the most notorious gangsters in French history, winning a best actor César last year for his performance.
So I am a smidgen apprehensive that an ill-judged question will send him into some sort of psychopathic meltdown.

'The Two Plates' celebrates nationwide release
By Michael Aaron Gallagher of StayFamous.Net
“Hypnotizing, raw and provocative, ‘The Two Plates’ is an authentic urban drama jam-packed with heart-pounding action, hard-hitting suspense and gritty realism.” – StayFamous.Net
From start to finish, “The Two Plates” has an authentic urban feel that no big-budget Hollywood movie could possibly match. Filmed in the “mean” streets of Richmond, Va, featuring a cast of local hip-hop artists, it is a story of best friends and hustlers who acquire two plates used in the process of making counterfeit bills. When the Secret Service begins to put pressure on their illegal operation, nothing turns out the way they planned.
At the 2008 B-Movie Film Festival, where “The Two Plates” made its film festival debut, director Jonathan Straiton talked about the production process. “I’ve been making movies since I was a kid,” he told the audience. “It...
