Sarah Lambert on the set of ‘Lambs of God.’
While Foxtel’s Lambs of God may well represent the pinnacle of Sarah Lambert’s 20-year career, the screenwriter/producer’s workload and reputation are set to reach new heights over the next two years.
The prolific Lambert is juggling four high-profile international TV series and two other projects. If they all get up, she may well have to clone herself.
First off, she has written the pilot of Traces, an 8-part drama based on a true crime case in Italy that has been transplanted to Australia. An examination of a miscarriage of justice, it’s being developed as a co-production between RevLover Films’ Martha Coleman and Lauren Edwards and Porchlight Films’ Vincent Sheehan and Liz Watts.
Currently she is tackling the pilot for The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart (working title) for Made Up Stories’ Bruna Papandrea, Jodi Matterson and Steve Hutensky.
While Foxtel’s Lambs of God may well represent the pinnacle of Sarah Lambert’s 20-year career, the screenwriter/producer’s workload and reputation are set to reach new heights over the next two years.

The Family Law.
Sbs has announced today that a second season of The Family Law is in production. Filming will begin in Queensland later this year, and the series will air in 2017. Written and created by Benjamin Law, and based on his memoir of the same name, The Family Law is a coming-of-age story told through the eyes of teenager Benjamin as he navigates growing up amidst the chaos of his hilarious, heart-warming and dysfunctional family. In season two, Benjamin and the Laws are excited to explore fresh careers, fresh ambitions, even fresh romances. Series creator Law said that one of the most satisfying things about season one was seeing how many audience members — Asian and non-Asian Australian alike — felt their own families were finally reflected back at them. .We.re excited to be putting a 90 per cent Asian-Australian cast on TV again, and picking right up from where we left the Laws.

Benjamin Law on the set of Sbs series The Family Law.
.
Benjamin Law.s new six-part series The Family Law has put form to his hit memoir of the same name as he makes his first foray in television.
Co-written with friend and colleague Marieke Hardy, Law told If that bringing the highly personal memoir to the screen was less about what he felt and more about how his family felt.
.I have already written a book about them and now it.s. hey family! Now our lives are going to be on television,. he said.
.I have got this really amazing career turning point and you are involved. They were curious about what it would look like and once they read the script, they thought this is really funny..
The series is told through the eyes 14-year-old Benjamin Law over a long, hot, Queensland summer.

The TV, film and Tvc production house formerly known as Jungleboys is making several emphatic affirmative action moves. Symbolically, the company.s title is now the gender neutral Jungle, reflecting the fact that 50% of the full-time staff is female.
The rechristening co-incides with three initiatives: the promotion of Chloe Rickard to partner and head of film and TV production; the launch of a female creative talent program in collaboration with Screen Nsw; and a commitment to employ at least one female in writing, directing or producing on every project. .The name Jungle is more representative of who we are now, and with our film and TV business incorporating in the Us, we should, at the very least, try to pretend to be grown-ups,. said MD Jason Burrows. One of the first hires at the company nine years ago, Rickard joins the co-founders Burrows, Trent O.Donnell and Phil Lloyd as partners.

Kirsty Fisher I haven.t marked my calendar but I guess I met Marieke when I script edited her on a kids show many, many years ago . probably almost ten years ago . and then we worked together really closely on Last Man Standing.
I was a script editor and she was basically everything else and we realised in working together on that show that we shared a lot in common and we loved working with each other.
So when that show didn.t go ahead to a second series we got together... and came up with a whole lot of stories, ideas and concepts and one of those was . well it was called Like a Virgin but it.s the show that became Laid.
It doesn.t feel like work at all, it.s great fun. It.s very harmonious . there.s very little tension.

Animal Kingdom producer Liz Watts has made her TV series debut with the black comedy Laid. Aravind Balasubramaniam reports from the set in Sydney.
Set to debut on ABC1 on February 9, Laid is the brainchild of Marieke Hardy and Kirsty Fisher. Its death-related premise – about Roo, a young woman (Alison Bell) whose previous sexual partners begin to mysteriously die off, making her think she’s cursed – provides the black comedic tone to the series.
Inspiration came to Hardy from a story she saw in the newspaper, about “a handsome boy” around her age, who died while during a holiday.
“I started to imagine, what if I had dated him and it ended up being a horrible relationship, would I be supposed to attend his funeral? What are your responsibilities to the ex lovers you had a very bad time with?” explained Hardy. “It wasn’t really about a fascination with death,...
