For better or worse, Neverland Ranch is one of the most famous celebrity properties ever. Michael Jackson bought the ranch because of an experience he had while filming the music video for his Paul McCartney duet “Say Say Say.” “Say Say Say” stands out from his other collaborations with Paul for another reason.
Michael Jackson’s ‘Say Say Say’ was 1 of his multiple collaborations with Paul McCartney
Jermaine Jackson is the second most famous member of The Jackson 5. In his 2014 book You Are Not Alone: Michael, Through a Brother’s Eyes, Jermaine said his brother always wanted to collaborate with Paul. Paul wrote a song called “Girlfriend” that appeared on the album Off the Wall. In the 1980s, Paul and Michael released two hit duets together: “The Girl Is Mine” from Thriller and “Say Say Say” from Paul’s album Pipes of Peace. Only the latter has a music video.

Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney released two hit songs together in the 1980s but only made a music video for one of them. The video included a cameo by a future celebrity. One of Michael’s brothers discussed the creation of the iconic video.

"Arcane" is one of the best animated shows of the past decade, a masterclass in adapting and reinterpreting a popular franchise for a different medium. Studio Fortiche delivered one of the most stunning pieces of animation in years with this show, which draws from the world of the hugely popular video game franchise "League of Legends."
The story follows a group of characters across the socioeconomic spectrum in the dual city of Piltover and Zaun. They are caught in the middle of a revolution when the discovery of a century is made — arcane technology, which is essentially magic. There are compelling characters and stories, exquisite worldbuilding, and gorgeous fight scenes to boot.
"Arcane" also boasts a fantastic voice cast that includes Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell, Katie Leung, and many more actors who are set to return for season 2.

For a small island, Puerto Rico has an outsized musical footprint. From salsa to hip-hop to reggaeton, for decades the Caribbean nation and the diaspora have contributed to birthing genres that have gone on to sweep the globe. With that international success has also come certain formulas for repeating it. On his debut EP, "Road 2 Neverland," Pink Pablo eschews all of them in favor of a sound that breaks from the confines of the established mainstream. Instead, it favors something a little freer. And over the course of six tracks, he finds it.
The introductory track, "Neverland," opens with blaring synths before morphing into a futuristic, funky disco beat that underscores Pablo's light harmonizing. The beat changes up again whenever his rapping takes over, this time going rock with heavy cymbals and kick drums accentuating the artist's more exaggerated delivery. The popular K-pop group Tomorrow X Together/Txt on Friday dropped their third studio album ‘The Name Chapter: Freefall’. The album was dropped alongside the music video of the their track ‘Chasing That Feeling’, a peppy 1980s styled pop track which lends credence to the statement, is ‘Old is gold’
The song infuses elements from K-pop, new wave music, and synth-pop. This is one of Txt’s most diverse and unique tracks as it is a strong shift away from standard K-pop, and is instead a shift to the old school pop leanings.
A very peppy, groovy and melodic song, ‘Chasing That Feeling’ transports you simply back to the older days of singers like Whitney Houston, New Order, or the Beach Boys. This is also sonically one of their more complex tracks as it goes full old pop, it is rhythmically a bit more experimental.

The CW may still consider staking out "The Lost Boys" as a live-action TV series, after the network previously passed on a TV pilot directed by Catherine Hardwicke ("Twilight") that updated the comic book reading, vampire-killing 'Frog Brothers' into the woke 'Frog Sisters':
"...in the original movie 'The Lost Boys', still mourning the death of her husband, 'Lucy' is forced to move back home to 'Santa Carla', California — something she’s dreaded since causing a town scandal 27 years ago, when she ditched her boyfriend to run off with another man.
"Lucy's elder son 'Michael' planning to attend 'Columbia Medical' school is thrown off by the diagnosis that he shares the same genetic weakness that killed his father. The only thing that consoles him is the friendship he strikes up with 'Stella', a young woman who runs a concession stand on the Santa Carla boardwalk.

Not bad for a story of a bored but determined girl who followed a nervous rabbit, moaning that he was getting late, into a bizarre underground world, and then, climbed through a mirror into a parallel world, set out like a chess board.
And in her peregrinations through these strange illogical worlds, she meets the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the King and Queen of Hearts, the Gryphon, the Jabberwock, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Humpty Dumpty, the White Knight, and a host of many more.
‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ (1865), or ‘Alice in Wonderland’, as it is more popularly known, and its sequel ‘Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There’ (1871-2) (‘Through the Looking-Glass’ more commonly) stand high both by themselves, and the adaptations that they have inspired across various media.

This week a new version of “Peter Pan,” inspired by both the 1953 Disney film and the original works by J.M. Barrie, splashes on Disney+. And it was enough to make us think about the many, many times the story has been brought to life (and where this new live-action film ranks among them). With that in mind we decided to list five great versions of the “Peter Pan” story – and where to stream them. Make sure you’ve got your pixie dust and remember that to get to Never Land, it’s the second star on the right and straight on until morning.
Also, two runners-up we wanted to address: the 1924 silent film version from Paramount Pictures (with Betty Bronson as Pan and Scottish character actor Ernest Torrence as Hook), which is often cited in the same breath as the Disney version as being the most influential; and Joel Schumacher...

Plot: Wendy Darling, a young girl afraid to leave her childhood home behind, meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Neverland. There, she encounters the evil pirate Captain Hook and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever.
Review: In their seemingly neverending quest to refresh their animated IP with live-action remakes, Disney thought they would find luck by bringing auteur David Lowery back after his updated take of Pete’s Dragon to tackle a new Peter Pan feature film. Where Lowery imbued Pete’s Dragon, a less familiar title in the overall Disney canon, with realistic characters and emotionally grounded storytelling, his Peter Pan & Wendy is a rote remake that sticks pretty close to the 1953 original. While the more problematic elements from the classic animated film have been replaced,...

As a retelling of both J.M. Barrie’s novel and Disney’s 1953 animated classic, Disney+‘s Peter Pan & Wendy is a mixed bag. But as a retelling via director David Lowery, it’s totally on-brand.
The first half-hour of the 106-minute movie (streaming now on Disney+) suggests a beat-for-beat retread (à la Jon Favreau’s The Lion King), but Lowery’s quirky preferences permit a more offbeat take. And once Peter, Wendy et al reach Neverland, the story takes on new life.

The actor’s full-throated performance as Captain Hook is the most distinctive thing in a passable but unnecessary Disney live-action remake
The increasingly rotten trend of turning classic Disney animations into wretched live-action, or photorealistic, remakes looks set to reach its nadir with next month’s release of The Little Mermaid, already a viral nightmare for its horrifying confirmation that adding lips to both a crab and a fish is indeed a crime against humanity. Its looming ugliness does at least help to make this month’s far more hushed release of the inoffensively fine Peter Pan & Wendy seem dreamy in comparison.
It almost seems foolish at this stage to question the necessity of such a thing, given the crushing commercial inevitability of it, but it’s impossible to watch yet another take on Jm Barrie’s impish hero without wondering why we’re here once again. Unlike so many of Disney’s other remakes,...

David Lowery's "Peter Pan & Wendy" has been a long time coming. Principal photography wrapped in 2021, while reshoots were completed in early 2022. The Covid-19 pandemic obviously played a role in delaying the film's production, but Disney has been a tad skittish about its release. The movie was greenlit as a Disney+ exclusive, but, unsurprisingly, the studio saw theatrical potential in the "Pete's Dragon" director's second remake of a Mouse House classic.
Alas, Disney reverted to a streaming release for "Peter Pan & Wendy," and, given the film's considerable budget, this is one of those moves that makes you wonder if the studio isn't completely on board with the tone Lowrey has struck. "Pete's Dragon" was an earthy redo of a slightly dated live-action/animated family flick, and it managed to connect with its simple tale of a lonely boy and his fantastical friend. The Park is a film written and directed by Shal Ngo starring Carli McIntyre, Billy Slaughter, Laura Coover and Carmina Garay among others.
An interesting premise, different, well made, but sustained by a literary spirit. Plus, it has a story to tell and character development is included.
Doesn’t that make B-Series sound better?
Storyline
In a dystopian future, a virus kills humans once they reach puberty. Only children are left. This is the story of a group of young people in a park who fight against their own nature.
About the Film
A great little surprise in the form of Lord of the Flies in its plot and with a clear touch of The Purge in its look. A film that gets the most out of its actors, knows how to take advantage of its aesthetics and its plot and, worthwhile in its premise, knows how to take itself seriously,...

Warning: contains spoilers for the Endeavour Series 9 finale and the Inspector Morse finale.
There have scarcely been more elegant TV endings. In its final episode ‘Exeunt’, Endeavour bid farewell much in the restrained and upright manner of its central characters. Like them, it said a great deal without saying too much, and paid purposeful tributes with a light touch.
The finale’s last moments played out dialogue-free with a meaningful passing of the baton. As young Morse drove his black Jaguar Mk 1 out of the Blenheim Palace grounds, he passed a red Jaguar Mk 2 travelling in the opposite direction. Each driver clocked the other in their rear view mirror – the eyes of Shaun Evans in one, and the eyes of Inspector Morse star John Thaw in the other.
That moment was a call-back to almost the very same at the end of the 2012 Endeavour pilot ‘Overture’ in which Thaw’s...

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in. Maybe.
Of all the Disney animated films turned live-action re-imaginings the Mouse House has churned out since striking box office gold with Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland", David Lowery's "Pete's Dragon" is one of the only ones I'm willing to go to bat for. In addition to improving on its predecessor, Lowery's film is the rare Disney live-action re-imagining that genuinely, well, re-imagines its source material. If it weren't for the presence of a boy named Pete and his giant green dragon pal Elliot, you wouldn't even realize the two movies were related.
Lowery's take on "Pete's Dragon" holds the peculiar distinction of being the second best-reviewed Disney live-action remake among critics on Rotten Tomatoes yet the lowest-grossing one released since 2010. This may, in part, also account for why Lowery's "Peter Pan and Wendy" --...

Disney Plus has released a new trailer for its forthcoming Peter Pan movie.
Peter Pan & Wendy is a forthcoming live-action reimagining of the 1911 Jm Barrie novel and the 1953 animated classic.
It stars Alexander Molony as the mischievous young boy and Ever Anderson as Wendy Darling.
The new trailer – released on Tuesday (28 February) – begins with a distraught Wendy encountering the famous Lost Boys in Neverland.
Fans also get a good look at Black-ish star Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell, and Jude Law as the villainous role of Captain Hook. The trailer teases action scenes, with plenty of sword fighting and flying.
Viewers, however, are complaining that the trailer looks too dark for a kid’s movie.
“Why is the movie so dark? Where are the colours? It’s Peter Pan, not a funeral,” said one person.
Alongside screenshots of some particularly dark scenes in the film, another added: “David Lowry is a solid director.

“The League of Pan” is described as “a thrilling and mysterious continuation of the beloved story of Peter Pan” that picks up with the characters after 10 years on the mainland. Now Wendy Darling is grown up and extranged from the Lost Boys, but they must return to Neverland to face a new evil that is threatening the existence of the magical place they once called home. This return reignites bitter rivalries and unearths “twisted secrets” from their past.
Brian McCauley Johnson will write and produce the fantastical series that explores painful truths about growing up, as well as the realization that “going home” is never quite as simple as one thinks.

Updated with video: Felicity Huffman, Cats, Joe Pesci, the Catholic Church, Judi Dench and James Corden got the Ricky Gervais treatment during the opening monologue of tonight’s Golden Globe Awards, but none took the brunt of the host’s jibes quite as sharply as Hollywood itself.
Casting the industry town as hypocritically woke – with a Jeffrey Epstein joke thrown in for good measure – the notoriously scathing British comic advised Golden Globe winners to skip the moralizing. Said Gervais, “Thank your agent and your God and…” The rest was bleeped, but he seemed to say something along the lines of “f*ck off.”
“You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything,” Gervais cautioned. “Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.”

When we first see the 17-year old Hala, she is in the bathtub pleasuring herself. It isn't the right image to introduce us to her. Hala is sexually curious, yes. But she is no libidinous adventuress. She is a calm, curious poetess, cruising the world on a skiboard, whose eyes convey the suffering of a soul far older and world-weary than she.
Somehow, the well-meaning but clich?d representation in "Hala" of a young Pakistani-American girl's experiences never go beyond the tropes and the signposts. Conservative Pakistani parents, welcoming though culturally curious friends in school, liberal Caucasian friends in school -- didn't we see all of that in Gurinder Chadha's "Blinded By The Light" recently?
"Hala" does it with a far less blitheness of the spirit. It is a film weighed down by its own self-importance. In trying to sublimate the 'message' to a larger audience-acceptance of teen-angst writer-director...

Disney’s found a lot of success through rebooting their classic animated movies in live-action. Then there’s the sub-genre of these projects that put a feminist twist on the original by focusing on one of the women in the story. We’ve seen that already in the Maleficent films and we’re about to again in Emma Stone’s Cruella origins flick. The next one to come after that though could be a live-action re-imagining of Tinkerbell, according to our intel.
We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who said an Aladdin sequel was in development, which was later confirmed – that Disney is in early development on a live-action Tinkerbell movie that will aim to explore the Neverland fairy’s backstory. What’s more, we’ve been informed that the studio wants Jennifer Lawrence to play the iconic role. It doesn’t sound like...

In its 30-plus season existence, “The Simpsons” has had hundred of celebrity cameos and guest stars, and with Disney+, fans can relive all of those era-specific animated appearances from the first 30 seasons. Well, all of those appearances except one, as the Season 3 premiere (“Stark Raving Dad”) featuring Michael Jackson is not actually available to stream on Disney+.
In the episode, Homer Simpson ends up in a mental institution and befriends Leon Kompowsky (voiced by Jackson), a man who claims to be Michael Jackson. While Jackson was never actually credited for the episode — due to contractual issues — the entire thing came to be in the first place because he was a fan of the show and called creator Matt Groening offering to do a guest spot.

One of this year’s buzziest Toronto International Film Festival breakouts might be about to land a home, and with a record deal to boot. Deadline reports that HBO is nearly at a deal to acquire Cory Finley’s fact-based embezzlement drama “Bad Education” for a price tag “nearing $20 million.” (Variety reports that the number is closer to $17.5 million.) That price point would put the deal in range of Fox Searchlight’s legendary big ticket festival buy, when the studio purchased Nate Parker’s “The Birth of a Nation” for $17.5 million at Sundance in 2016. As has become commonplace, it seems to have boiled down to the ever-raging debate between the merits of theatrical versus streaming.
As Deadline notes, “This one quickly came down to the producers and financiers faced with making a choice that will be more commonplace as fests go forward. Did they want a streaming deal, gamble for...

Bill Pagel knows what you’re thinking, so he’ll say it for you. Last month, the Hibbing, Minnesota resident bought the two-story house where Bob Dylan lived between 1948 and 1959. It follows his 2001 purchase of a dwelling in Duluth where the singer and his family lived before Hibbing. “When you start collecting homes – and I’ve got two – I think that’s when you should probably get some professional help,” Pagel says with a self-deprecating laugh. “That’s end-stage collecting.”

Lille, France — God, Freddie Highmore’s good at crying. There’s a scene in “Neverland,” screened at his Series Mania masterclass, where he’s acting opposite Johnny Depp. His mother has just died. Highmore sits on a park bench, clutching a notebook, which she helped as tears well in his eyes, and he tries to keep in everything but can’t.
It’s a richly calibrated performance, shame, confusion, deep sorrow all jostling in there, and Depp wisely containing his to give Highmore stage center – despite the fact that he cannot have been much more than 10 when he played the scene.
Many years later, in another excerpt highligh at the French TV festival, Highmore is crying again. It’s another crucial scene, in Ep. 1 of ABC’s “The Good Doctor,” where his central character, Shaun Murphy, makes his pitch to become a surgeon, despite autism, to a skeptical medical team.

How do you put music to child sexual abuse — especially if the accused predators are musical icons?
That’s the challenge composers Chad Hobson and Nathan Matthew David faced as they scored HBO’s “Leaving Neverland” and Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly,” respectively. The documentaries are built around interviews with the alleged victims of Michael Jackson and Kelly (more than a dozen women who contend that Kelly seduced them while still teenagers).
London-based Hobson and Los Angeles-based David took very different approaches, yet in interviews with Variety stressed that they took pains to avoid sensationalizing or overly dramatizing the stories. “Neverland” featured acoustic musicians while “Kelly” was a studio production using synths and samples.
“The scoring approach to ‘Leaving Neverland’ was to imagine a walk through a beautiful and magical forest,” says Hobson. “But as you travel deeper into the forest it becomes darker, more distorted, the limbs of the...

There’s been no end to public outcry ever since HBO’s “Leaving Neverland” premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January. The painful two-part HBO documentary, which details the alleged sexual abuse that two men endured from Jackson, has resulted in a variety of responses. Many have condemned Jackson’s actions and taken steps to disassociate with the King of Pop but still others are choosing to not believe the singer’s accusers and denouncing the film.
The details unearthed in “Leaving Neverland” have resulted in a permanent tainting of the powerful singer’s legacy — radio stations have begun pulling Jackson’s music from their sets and the one-time earning power of the Jackson estate is now in question.
Here’s some of the fallout that’s resulted so far from the widely talked about film:

Feldman, who says he was abused as a child and has spoken out about sexual abuse in Hollywood, said in a lengthy statement on Twitter Monday that some of his experiences were “the same” as those reported by Wade Robson and James Safechuck, the accusers profiled in “Neverland.” But, Feldman said, Jackson “never touched me inappropriately & never suggested we should be lovers in any way!”

Corey Feldman, who as a child actor spent time with Michael Jackson, is defending the late King of Pop against the devastating sexual abuse allegations in Leaving Neverland.
Wade Robson and James Safechuck allege in the two-part HBO documentary that Jackson molested them when they were children.
But in a series of tweets (see below) after watching part one of the doc, Feldman slammed the film and insisted Jackson “never touched me inappropriately.”

Over the past several months, there have been a slew of documentaries and true-crime style movies that have attempted to look at high-profile figures and cases in a new light. There's Ryan Murphy's FX anthology American Crime Story, which has so far explored the trial of O.J. Simpson and the murder of Gianni Versace. There's Conversations With a Killer, the eerie Ted Bundy documentary featuring actual footage of interviews with the infamous serial killer. Even the longtime punchline of the Lorena Bobbitt case got a new look with Lorena, which dug into the context surrounding the crime and the media attention around it. The latest entry into this genre is Leaving Neverland, a documentary focused on a pair of men who say they were abused as boys while in Michael Jackson's inner circle.

There's an interesting fantasy film project currently in development called Come Away. The story for the film is imagined as a prequel to Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan, and Angelina Jolie (Maleficent) and David Oyelowo (Selma) are in talks to star. Here the details we have about the film thanks to Deadline:
Before Alice went to Wonderland, and before Peter became Pan, they were brother and sister. When their eldest brother dies in a tragic accident, they each seek to save their parents (Jolie & Oyelowo) from their downward spirals of despair until finally they are forced to choose between home and imagination. This sets the stage for their iconic journeys into Wonderland and Neverland.

On The Magicians Season 3 Episode 13, viewers were offered a satisfying cliffhanger that serves as the perfect ending to a near perfect season.
“Will You Play With Me?” ended up being both exactly and not at all what I expected from this season’s finale. Completing the quest was ultimately in the cards.
Not having the team unlock magic would have essentially made all the mechanisms of the season a waste. But the ultimate cost of turning it back on was the real shocker and proves that The Magicians writers have a real understanding of what separates a good plot twist from a great one.
If you took the events of the final The Magicians Season 3 episode at face value, it might not seem all that satisfying. Particularly as much of what was gained over 12 episodes was lost in 42 minutes.

If you took the events of the final The Magicians Season 3 episode at face value, it might not seem all that satisfying. Particularly as much of what was gained over 12 episodes was lost in 42 minutes.
Julia became a goddess and then quickly gave up her powers to save magic.
