The Marvel Cinematic Universe has lost most of its charm after Avengers: Endgame. After most of the Og characters’ story concluded following The Infinity Saga, the Kevin Feige vehicle took a different approach for The Multiverse Saga. Sadly, it did more bad than good. The introduction of the excessive amount of Disney+ Marvel shows and movies brought the MCU to its lowest.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe
Fortunately, it looks like Marvel Studios has listened to its fans and realized their mistake as the latest comments by Kevin Feige hint at a brighter future for the superhero universe. The MCU boss promised his fans that he would surely return with a bang. He assured that the haters would be proven wrong and the fans would once again get back their glorious Marvel days.

The recent success of Netflix’s original animated ventures didn’t happen overnight, and a lion’s share of the credit should go to some of the streaming service’s earliest animated titles, Castlevania and Blood of Zeus. While the first one redefines the established game lore of the same name with a quasi-historical setting and modern sensibility, Blood of Zeus depends on the age-old formula of demigod legacy, challenging the established status quo of the divine creators, inspired by legends like Perseus or Hercules.
Free from the burden of stringent adherence to a singular lore, Greek mythology is effectively a treasure trove for experimentation on character dynamics. The makers of Blood of Zeus utilized this aspect in the best possible way as they took viewers through the journey of Heron and Seraphim while navigating through the world of gods and monsters, questioning the humanity of the associated characters the whole while.

When Netflix released Blood of Zeus in 2020, it changed the entire interpretation of Greek mythology in the anime world. The anime is one of the most popular series following a Greek storyline, along with the likes of Record of Ragnarok, Knights of the Zodiac, Rage of Bahamut, etc. And the second season of the series is scheduled for release on May 9, 2024.
Netflix’s Blood of Zeus
The show is created and written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides for Netflix, who are known for the Death Note live-action adaptation and the 2011 Immortals, starring Henry Cavill. The Parlapanides brothers are of Greek descent, and they once revealed that they wanted to add more authenticity to the stories told by Hollywood about Greek mythologies.
They even targeted gigantic media franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe and called their rendition of portraying Greek culture “Greek Mythology with costumes.”

If you are an ardent fan of Greek mythology and read a plethora of books such as The Song of Achilles, Circe, Percy Jackson Series, and many more, then you surely would have enjoyed watching Netflix’s Blood of Zeus. Even though the series is based on Greek mythology and legends, it is nothing that we don’t know or haven’t read. Despite trying to stand apart from the ancient legends and myths that we are aware of, the show often falters in creating something new.
Heron, the son of Zeus
The show is full of problems, and it is only great when it adds a dark twist to the Greek legends while trying not to stray too far away from the authentic source material. However, it looks like the show is in a tight spot, as the creators, Vlas and Charley Parlapanides, open up about the repetitive aspect of the show.

As summer approaches (for the Northern Hemisphere at least), Netflix is set to premiere a fresh season of one of its biggest hits.
Brigerton season 3 is set to arrive on May 16 and will debut a “new crop of debutantes” into the regency drama fray. Other original series of note this month include Indian drama Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (May 1), the Jeff Daniels-starring A Man in Full (May 2), and intriguing Korean title The 8 Show (May 17). Of course, Netflix is also rolling out a suite of true crime docs and docuseries as well. Chief among those options is Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal on May 15.
It’s the movie side of things where Netflix is feeling particularly lively though. May 3 sees the arrival of Jerry Seinfeld Pop Tart comedy Unfrosted. That will be followed by rom-com Mother of the Bride (May 9) and the Jennifer Lopez-starring Atlas (May 24).

It’s season finale time for networks, but Netflix, naturally, still has plenty of brand new TV and shows coming in May.
Jeff Daniels makes his TV return in the David E. Kelley series “A Man in Full.” That six-episode series is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Tom Wolfe. Per a press release: “When Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker faces sudden bankruptcy, political and business interests collide as Charlie defends his empire from those attempting to capitalize on his fall from grace.” The series will also star Tom Pelphrey, Diane Lane, Lucy Liu, William Jackson Harper, Aml Ameen, Sarah Jones, Jon Michael Hill and Chanté Adams.
Additionally, comedy fans can get excited for a new special series from John Mulaney. The comedian is hosting a multi-night event, “John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA,” that looks to be part interview show and part man-on-the-street hijinks.

I'm always amazed at how many good shows completely fly by me. Case in point: Blood of Zeus, an animated show about gods and demons and other monsters of Greek mythology, created by Charley Parlapanides and Vlas Parlapanides. Season 1 released eight episodes in late 2020, and now Season 2 is coming on May 9. I've only watched the first three episodes so far, but it's exactly what it sounds like on the tin, only better, in that's a hard-edged action-adventure that puts a human touch on Greek mythology. The official synopsis for Season 2: "Following Zeus' demise, a power vacuum emerges amongst the gods, leaving Heron, Zeus' demigod son, struggling to find his place. He is racked with loss and hears a mysterious refrain...

Inspired by Ancient Greek mythology, the first season of Netflix’s Blood of Zeus, initially known as Gods & Heroes, premiered on October 27, 2020. The series had a total of eight episodes, and it was well-received by fans and critics. Created by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides, the series was produced by Powerhouse Animation Studios with the animation outsourced to South Korean studios Mua Film and Hanho Heung-Up. The series was quickly renewed for a second season in December 2020, but it took a total of four years for the series to return, as Netflix finally confirmed that the second season will premiere on May 9, 2024.
The creators of the series have confirmed that they have a total of five seasons planned, and we just hope that we won’t have to wait that long for the upcoming seasons to appear. Alongside the premiere date, a trailer has also been released, which you can watch below.

Netflix and Legendary Television are expanding the globally famed universes of Legendary’s “Skull Island” and Square Enix’s “Tomb Raider” for two new Japanese style animation shows. As previously announced in Nov. 2018, Netflix and Legendary Entertainment are also currently in production for another anime featuring kaiju, the mecha and cyborg series “Pacific Rim: The Black,” based on the Legendary Pictures production and Guillermo del Toro-directed 2013 film “Pacific Rim.”
Legendary’s cinematic Monsterverse started in 2014 with “Godzilla,” and continued with 2017’s “Kong: Skull Island,” 2019’s “Godzilla: King of the Monsters,” and the forthcoming “Godzilla vs. Kong” in March 2021. The streaming platform’s “Skull Island” adventure anime will become a...

Netflix and Legendary Television are teaming up on two more anime-style series, the two companies announced Wednesday.
The first will be based on the “Skull Island” film franchise and the second will be an adaptation of Square Enix’s “Tomb Raider” series of video games. The two projects join the previously announced “Pacific Rim” spinoff series “The Black,” which is currently in production.
“Skull Island” is described as a “new chapter” in the “Monsterverse” film franchise, which includes 2017’s “Kong: Skull Island” and the soon-to-be-released “Godzilla vs. Kong.” The new adventures series follows shipwrecked characters desperate to escape the most dangerous place on Earth — a mysterious island home to prehistoric monsters, including the greatest titan of them all, Kong.
Brian Duffield will serve as writer and executive producer on the series alongside Jacob Robinson of Tractor Pants. Powerhouse Animation, which produces “Castlevania” and “Blood of Zeus” for Netflix, will handle the animation.

Does your life need more King Kong-like monsters and Lara Croft? Well, Netflix and Legendary Television have got you covered. The streaming giant is teaming with the TV studio to expand the Skull Island and Tomb Raider universes with two new anime series.
Skull Island will be a new chapter in Legendary’s Monsterverse franchise and much like the 2017 Jordan Vogt-Roberts- directed movie Kong: Skull Island, the animated series will follow the adventures of shipwrecked characters that are trying to escape from the mysterious dangerous titular island home to prehistoric monsters, including the titan, Mr. Kong.
Legendary’s Monsterverse kicked off in 2014 with Godzilla and then Kong: Skull Island followed by Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019. Things will come to a head in the next Monsterverse chapter with Godzilla vs. Kong which recently released a catastrophically jaw-dropping trailer. The new animated series will continue the story of these monsters and myths.
