Sza came into these awards with a leading nine nominations including Album of the Year (“Sos”), Record of the Year (“Kill Bill”) and Song of the Year (“Kill Bill”). Following with seven nominations apiece were breakthrough R&b artist Victoria Monet, alternative star Phoebe Bridgers and recording engineer/mixer Serban Ghenea.
Of those, Monet was arguably the biggest surprise, picking up Best New Artist and Record of the Year (“On My Mama”) bids in addition to sweeping the noms in the R&b field. Meanwhile, Bridgers secured most of her noms with supergroup Boygenius, including Album of the Year (“The Record“) and Record of the Year (“Not Strong Enough”). And Ghenea,...

The 2024 Grammy Awards ceremony is being held this weekend and we’re predicting the winners in all of the major categories!
Sza leads the pack this year with nine nominations.
In general, women are totally crushing it: Sza, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and Miley Cyrus all dominated the biggest categories. Jon Batiste is actually the only man in the Record of the Year and Album of the Year categories.
Taylor has a chance at setting a record for most Album of the Year wins if she picks up the award for Midnights. She currently is tied for the most wins in the category with three previous wins!
Make sure to tune in on Sunday for the Grammys, hosted by Trevor Noah for the fourth time. The show is airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ starting at 8pm Et. Check out the full list of nominations.

The 66th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 4, during two ceremonies: the afternoon Premiere Ceremony where most of the awards will be handed out, and the prime time telecast on CBS and Paramount+ hosted for the fourth year in a row by Trevor Noah. But who will win? Scroll down for our official odds in 37 categories, which are based on the combined predictions of Gold Derby users who have placed their bets here in our predictions center. Our projected winners are highlighted in gold.
Sza enters these awards with the most nominations (nine), followed by R&b breakout Victoria Monet, alternative singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers and engineer/mixer Serban Ghenea with seven apiece. This year’s awards also marked a number of changes and updates. The Recording Academy consolidated its categories into just 11 fields in order to give voters more flexibility as to which categories they participate in.

The exciting new category of Best Pop Dance Recording at the Grammys will crown its inaugural winner soon, and it’s looking like a tight race. Right now I’m inclined to believe it’ll be Troye Sivan‘s “Rush” to take the award home.
Sign UPfor Gold Derby’s free newsletter with latest predictions
“Rush” seems to be the perfect balance of success and acclaim, unlike the other nominees. For example, many predict Kylie Minogue’s “Padam Padam” will win, especially considering the acclaim it’s gotten. But it might be at a disadvantage because the song did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100, unlike a couple of the other nominees, and has only recently crossed 100 million streams.
Inversely, there’s David Guetta, Anne-Marie, and Coi Leray’s “Baby Don’t Hurt Me,” which was pretty big, racking up 369 million streams and peaking in the top 20 on the pop airplay chart.

Eminem put longtime rival Benzino on blast on a new song, and he made it very personal.
People noted that the 51-year-old “Lose Yourself” rapper’s feud with Benzino, a rapper and producer, started in 2002 over a review of one of Eminem‘s albums.
Since then, they’ve traded barbs in lyrics. The tradition continues with the release of Eminem‘s song “Doomsday Pt. 2.” This time around, he even brought Benzino‘s famous daughter into the mix, too.
Read more about Eminem’s blistering diss track…
“What is the opposite of Benzino? A giraffe / ‘Go at his neck,’ How the f-ck is that? / How can I go at somethin’ he doesn’t have,” he raps. “Arm so short he can’t even touch his hands / When they’re above his head doin’ jumpin’ jacks.”
As the song continued, Eminem called out Benzino‘s finances and alluded to his sexuality.

Coi Leray has dropped a new single, “Wanna Come Thru.” The sultry track, produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, marks her first release for new label Island Records.
“This song is about me on my grown and sexy,” Leray explained in a statement. “Grown and sexy means being so in love with yourself — that it is one of the most sexiest, maturest, grownest things that a woman can do. As you get older and you tap into your womanhood and your femininity and I feel like you should embrace that.

Tomorrow X Together performed three songs as part of an international edition of NPR’s Tiny Desk series. The clip marks a collaboration between NPR and LG U+, a Korean telecommunications and media company, and sees Txt giving an intimate performance in a library-like space.
The group — Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and HueningKai — played a trio of songs for Tiny Desk Korea, “Skipping Stones,” “Happily Ever After,” and their single “Chasing That Feeling.” The selections come off Txt’s most recent album, The Name Chapter: Freefall, which arrived in October.

TikTok is hoping that the next Grammy Awards ceremony will be a big night for vertical video. The app has recognized several Grammy nominees — including Miley Cyrus, Ice Spice, and Troye Sivan — whose songs have been used as the soundtracks for viral short-form trends.

This year the Grammys moved the Songwriter of the Year and Producer of the Year, Non-Classical categories into the general field. The way voting works, academy members are only allowed to vote in three fields besides general, and can only vote in 10 categories between those three fields. Songwriter of the Year was its own field when that award was introduced last year, and most members probably didn’t want to burn one of their three fields to vote for just one award. Now all voters can participate in these contests, hopefully generating a more representative list of who excelled behind the scenes. This year in particular has a diverse and exciting list of possible contenders in both categories, so let’s consider who might make the cut in the songwriting race.
