One of the best things about the old Star Wars Expanded Universe was that it afforded writers a chance to delve deeply into the various supporting players who would pop in and out of the original trilogy with nary an explanation for who they were or what their deal even was. One might call this the Boba Fett Syndrome. Take Lando Calrissian's (Billy Dee Williams) cyborg pal Lobot, who joined the smuggler in going legit after Lando became the Baron Administrator of Cloud City. He makes but a few wordless appearances in "The Empire Strikes Back" only to vamoose, never to be seen or mentioned again.
These days, Lobot has a wholly fleshed-out and consistent canonical backstory thanks to books like the "Lando" and "War of the Bounty Hunters" comics series. However, before Disney assumed control of the franchise, you just had to piece together the character's history as best...

Billy Dee Williams is making his long-awaited return as Lando Calrissian in this December’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and a new clue suggests he might be bringing an old friend with him, a character we haven’t seen in the saga since The Empire Strikes Back.
Twitter user @CadBanesBounty took a closer look at the photo of Williams’ Lando that we got courtesy of Vanity Fair last month and noticed that Lando is wearing the same wrist-mounted communicator he had on in Episode IV. Does this mean his old cyborg assistant Lobot will put in an appearance in the closer to the Sequel Trilogy?
Lobot was Lando’s right-hand man during his time as administrator of Cloud City on Bespin. As with every character in the Sw universe, his story has been expanded in comics and novels over the years, but he’s never returned in another movie since Tesb.

The employer who for five months last year shared a small office with Christy Sheats, the Texas mom who fatally shot her two daughters before being shot and killed by police, says she was an erratic employee who frequently missed work and wasn't always truthful with him. Still, he says, he never would have expected the horrific final actions she took. "Whether it was her or anybody else, it wouldn't be much more of a shock that a mother would murder her children," John Hollis, who hired Sheats as a part-time receptionist for his business, tells People. "But the fact...

Voice actor Robert Rietti has died, aged 92.
Rietti was known for lending his voice to James Bond villains when filmmakers wanted to re-record lines.
According to The Times, Rietti died on April 3.
Among the villains he dubbed were Emilio Largo (Adolfo Celi) in 1965's Thunderball and Ernst Stavro Blofeld (John Hollis) in 1981's For Your Eyes Only.
"In nearly every Bond picture, there's been a foreign villain, and in almost every case, they've used my voice," Rietti once said.
Throughout his career, he also voiced characters in The Guns of Navarone (1961), Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964), Doctor Zhivago (1965), Barbarella (1968), Frenzy (1972), Murder on the Orient Express (1974) and Trail of the Pink Panther (1982).

The last time there was a Robert Pattinson "look-alike" on the table, everyone seemed to have a pretty good time discussing whether or not the young man actually looked like Robert Pattinson (star of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Remember Me). So, for your consideration today, we have John Hollis, a young man who reportedly attended an event in Las Vegas this weekend and had fans in a frenzy over his likeness to the one and only Robert Pattinson. "He was invited to a star studded [event] by Jaki Baskow and was on ...

We recently reported that Peter Morgan, who penned The Queen and Frost/Nixon, will be co-scripting the new James Bond movie with Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and that Afghanistan might factor into the plot-line somehow.
Now comes word from The Guardian that Michael Sheen, who has collaborated in the past with Morgan on the aforementioned movies, is in negotiations to play Ernst Stavro Blofeld in Bond 23.
Blofeld back for Bond 23...? That's what the UK paper is reporting.
"Michael is hot property right now and it is felt that he's the right man to bring Blofeld back to life," an unnamed source revealed. "Michael was a Bond fan in his youth, so this would be a dream role for him."
Blofeld is the head of Spectre and has appeared in six previous James Bond installments: From Russia with Love (1963), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967), On Her Majesty's Secret Service...

We all have heard of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the evil genius and James Bond's ultimate nemesis. Heck, even Mike Myers imitated him as Dr. Evil in the "Austin Powers" films.
Blofeld is the head of the global criminal organization Spectre with dreams of, you guessed it, World Domination!
With the last Bond film, "Quantum of Solace" dealing with Spectre, it's just a logical next step to reboot the Blofeld character previously played by the likes of Max Von Sydow, Telly Savalas, John Hollis, Charles Gray, Anthony Dawson, and Donald Pleasance (pictured n character above).
Now, I'm hearing through the grapevine that Michael Sheen may be playing the Blofeld character in the upcoming Bond film with Daniel Craig reprising his role as the British super spy! This makes sense with Peter Morgan attached to co-write the script. Morgan has previously worked with Sheen in "The Queen" and "Frost/Nixon."
