Mark Harmon, or special agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in a longtime role on CBS’s NCIS series, has signed with Gersh.
Harmon originated his Gibbs character with a guest appearance on Jag before being spun off to lead NCIS, a role he played on the CBS procedural for nearly two decades before signing off from his final case in 2021. Going into the ninth season, he was promoted to executive producer on NCIS and was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In the 11th season, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Harmon worked closely with showrunner Gary Glasberg on a special two-episode arc that reunited the Gibbs character with an old comrade working a case in New Orleans. Those episodes became the pilot for NCIS: Nola, also known as NCIS: New Orleans, with Harmon serving as executive producer on the spinoff.

We’re still a couple of weeks out from The Boys returning with its second season, but based on the footage we’ve seen so far, it certainly looks as if we’re in for another wild ride. One that may even top the first run of the show, which was one of the best things that we’d seen on television in a long time.
Of course, trying to predict how something as crazy as The Boys is going to end up is a fool’s errand, but let’s not forget that it won’t be the only new thing arriving on Amazon Prime in September. Far from it, in fact.
Earlier today, the streaming service announced their entire line-up of new titles for next month and it’s a meaty list, comprising both films and television shows. And though The Boys may be the highlight for many...

An election season is fast-approaching in the U.S. So for its new releases in September 2020, Amazon Prime is bringing back one of its most political shows.
The Boys season 2 premieres its first three episodes on September 4. Though the show on its face is a superhero story, viewers of season 1 will know it’s really about America’s troubling embrace of entertainment with fascism. Sounds fun and not at all terrifying right before a presidential election!
That’s not the only bleak Amazon original on the schedule for September. British TV adaptation Utopia arrives on September 25. This Gillian Flynn-produced series follows fans of a comic book who believe it predicts…world-ending pandemics. Darn it. Amazon’s only original film this month is a…documentary about voter suppression from Liz Garbus called All In: The Fight for Democracy. Yikes.

She's making headlines, again! Yanet García, known as "The Hottest Weather Girl on the Planet," has people buzzing on Instagram with one of her latest posts. Just like any other day, the 25-year-old posted a video of her segment. This time, she was flooded with comments from people doubting the authenticity of her famous backside. One person even wrote, "I wonder what plastic surgeon she went to so I never go. She looks deformed." Luckily, many of her fans came to her rescue. "The people that criticize are just jealous, you keep doing what makes you happy," one person commented. Then another follower explained that the video was a bit distorted because of the...

Goodbye Daybreak. Good morning, erm, Good Morning Britain.
ITV's latest attempt to revive their breakfast schedules and make a dent in the ratings of their fierce rivals at BBC Breakfast comes in the shape of four familiar faces from morning television.
Sky's Sean Fletcher and Charlotte Hawkins, former GMTV host and all round good egg Ben Shephard and the star attraction, who ITV no doubt hope is the jewel in their crown, Susanna Reid.
Poached from the BBC and fresh from a successful run on Strictly Come Dancing, ITV are hoping she's the perfect mix of sharp journalism and warm presenting. Just don't say the words Christine or Bleakley.
Will Good Morning Britain be ITV breakfast's biggest hit since Roland Rat? Or have we got another Daybreak disaster on our hands?
From 6am on Monday (April 28) morning we'll be live-blogging the launch and trying to avoid dropping ketchup from our bacon sandwich on our keyboard.

In what is becoming a New York tradition, the legacy of Judy Garland will be celebrated with an evening of eclectic performances honoring lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (Lgbt) youth.
Now in its third year, "Night of A Thousand Judys" will feature Broadway's Carolee Carmello and Christiane Noll along with Manhattan cabaret stars Justin Vivian Bond and Molly Pope. Also making their "Judy" debut in 2013 are "Glee" Warbler Telly Leung, original Weather Girl Martha Wash and singer Madeleine Peyroux.
Acknowledging that the evening's set will comprise both classic tunes and lesser-known material from the Garland songbook, the participating artists were nonetheless tight-lipped about the specifics of their performances; last year's show featured nods to Garland's seminal 1961 Carnegie Hall concert as well as her starring roles in "Meet Me In St. Louis" and, of course, "The Wizard of Oz." Still, they nonetheless praised Garland as being more than just a stage...

Rules are made to be broken – especially stupid, self-imposed rules that apply giant blanket statements to something as unique and weird and changeable as love itself. In Blayne Weaver’s 6 Month Rule, writer and director Weaver also stars as Tyler, dude about town, rakish ladies’ man, (somewhat) drunk photographer, and a steadfast believer in a set of rules that he thinks keep their followers from romantic heartbreak. The most important of those rules? There’s no woman so perfect that you can’t get over her in six months. That’s a snappy rule, right? Great way to gird yourself from emotional upheaval? Of course. Tyler really thinks he’s got it all figured out. Until he doesn’t. In the film, Tyler inevitably falls in love (with the very charming Natalie Morales), but their “spooky synchronicity” is made complicated by her douchebag musician boyfriend (Patrick J. Adams) and the albatross that is his heartbroken best friend...

A couple of clicks away on the web are scores of films made by fans – by turns hilarious, ingenious and ambitious. Lurking among their makers might be Hollywood's next generation.
Many still regard them as flatulent waste products of the socially deficient unemployed-layabout community. In most cases, they're pretty much right. But it looks increasingly likely that some of the amateur fan films that pervade YouTube and other online broadcasters will one day be cherished by movie-lovers as the formative works of the next generation of cutting-edge film-makers.
The idea of the fan film – an amateur, not-for-profit work inspired by a commercial movie, TV show or comic book – isn't new. Even before science fiction conventions in the 1970s began to provide sizeable audiences for homemade homages to much-loved sci-fi/fantasy franchises, teenage movie geeks such as Hugh Hefner and Batman fan Andy Warhol were finding their film-making feet making short...

There are only a handful of new DVD releases hitting stores today, but there are some decent titles that chose to wait until after the holiday rush to make their home video debut. The indie horror phenomenon Paranormal Activity rushes to stores today, along with the CG-animated sci-fi adventure 9 and Diablo Cody's horror-comedy Jennifer's Body starring Megan Fox (both of which disappointed at the box office). Diablo Cody's Showtime series The United States of Tara is also out today, along with one of the best new shows on television, Glee, which is unfortunately opting to nickel and dime fans with partial season sets. Still need more? The direct-to-dvd WWE action film The Marine 2 is out today too. Let's just hope it lives up to the original. There's definitely not a shortage of romantic comedies out there - every year there is a slew that hits theaters with big names and high concepts. Most of the time it's a journey for a young woman (or a not-so-young woman) in finally getting her life together and falling in love with the most unlikely of men. There's also no short of indie comedies with quirky sensibilities. Strangely enough, Weather Girl fits into both categories without fully fitting into either. That's because with all the indie sensibilities that it carries, it's still the same old stock romantic comedy formula we've seen time and time again. Headstrong Sylvia (Tricia O'Kelley) loses it on-screen during her Wacky Weather Girl segment after finding her co-worker Sherry's (Kaitlin Olson) panties in her live-in boyfriend and fellow colleague's (Mark Harmon) dressing room. Unhirable in her profession, she is forced to start over by crashing with her brother and waiting tables until she...

If you watch her in an episode of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" or her role in the upcoming Weather Girl, you might conclude that Kaitlin Olson is an insane person. She seems incredibly comfortable playing characters who are tragic messes with supreme personal and drinking issues. We here at Fsr can only applaud that sort of behavior, but it turns out that Olson isn't exactly insane. She's just a very funny comedian. In Weather Girl (review forthcoming as soon as I finish the rest of these delicious cake balls that my roommate just made), Olson plays Sherry - an insecure morning show anchor who is sleeping with the main anchor. That might be okay if the main anchor didn't already have a live-in girlfriend. Who stands ten feet from both of them doing the weather on the show. Sherry is catty, shallow, and develops a taste for the bottle - a recipe that seems to work...

For a market that is supposed to be flat, there are a number of U.S. film acquisitions made in the month of March, not to mention February. If there's no money, are these companies acquiring them for no mgs? The films are also holding up surprisingly well in theaters which bodes well for future sales of independent films into the coming year. Rumblings from venture capital waiting in the wings to begin investing again are also heard. I predict 2010 will be the year of the turnaround when the buying cycle begins again. Meanwhile there are some bargains to be had. Also notable are the key festivals where these films have all shown.
Amreeka was acquired by National Geographic and will open New Directors/ New Films. It showed as a work in progress at the Dubai Film Festival and went from there to its world premiere at Sundance. William Morris Independent brokered the deal on behalf of E1 Entertainment which has acquired Charlotte Mickie's and Robert Lantos' Maximum as well as U.K. distribtution company Contender all of which are very notable moves in the industry.
Afghan Star which showed at IDFA went to ZeitgeistZeitgeist[/link] for U.S. It was the Sundance World Doc winner of both Best Director and Audience Awards. Earlier this month they acquired Three Monkeys from the bankrupt New Yorker whose auction earlier this month found no takers. So its catalog still resides with its creditor Technicolor.
Nowhere Boy went to The Weinstein Co. for U.S., Latin America and German speaking territories from Hanway.
The Greatest went to Senator for North America who saw it at Sundance. It was repped by Graham Taylor of Endeavor and CAA on behalf of the filmmakers.
Paranoids went to Oscilloscope from Visit Films for North America just before its SXSW premiere. The Toronto and Berlin film of Fortissimo, Unmistaken Child, went earlier to Oscilloscope for North America. Earlier in the month Oscilloscope acquired Burma VJ and The Garden.
B-Side acquired its first film for U.S., RiP: A Remix Manifesto before its SXSW screening. Disinformation will release it on DVD. In Canada Eye Steele and National Film Board of Canada will partner with B-Side on its release there.
One of several new U.S. distributors, Trela Media, acquired its first of 6 envisioned yearly acquisitions, Guest of Cindy Sherman which has played in several festivals already for North America.
Another new and innovative U.S. distribution configuration of Variance Films, Elementary Films and Argyle Productons will will release the Hot Docs, Hamptons and Margaret Mead festival film Nursery University in April 2009 in New York.
Lorber HT Digital acquired Intangible Asset #82 before it SXSW premiere and Nollywood Babylon which showed in Toronto and Sundance for North America.
Anvil! The Story of Anvil was acquired by VH1 for North America.
Strand acquied U.S. rights to The Headless Woman from Focus. It had been named one of the best as yet undistributed films of 2008 by IndieWIRE after its premier in Cannes last year.
First Run acquired Four Seasons Lodge by Albert Maysles and a handpicked team for U.S.
Wolfe acquired Pedro for DVD and VOD, and MTV acquired TV rights in North America. Produced by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland for U.S., it premiered in Toronto.
The Cove which premiered in Sundance and was acquired for world sales by The Works went to Lionsgate, Roadside Attractions and Participant for U.S. The deal was made with William Morris Indendent and Submarine.
Alive Mind, Richard Lorber's intellectual, spiritual and alternative distribution outfit acquired North American rights to Theater of War.
Film Movement acquired North American rights to Munyurangabo from Umedia after its festival screenings in Cannes' Un Certain Regard, Berlin, Toronto and New Directors/ New Films. It premiered at Slamdance.
Regent acquired worldwide rights excluding North America to Weather Girl from Submarine Entertainment.

The Slamdance competition is open only to under-$1 million budgeted films from first-time filmmakers and runs at the same time as Sundance (in Utah) to show a more truer "independent" film style. This year they've got some great looking films, including a sweet looking vampire flick which has the Karate Kid Ralph Macchio himself, Rosencantz and Guildenstern are Undead. I Sell the Dead which was well received at Tad will be opening the fest. Also playing will be The Broken Lizard's latest film The Slammin' Salmon, and Mum and Dad.

"I Sell the Dead," Glenn McQuaid's darkly comic horror tale about bumbling grave robbers starring Dominic Monaghan and Ron Perlman, will serve as the opening-night film of the 15th annual Slamdance Film Festival, which runs Jan. 15-23 in Park City.
The fest will screen 29 narrative and documentary features, 20 of which come from the U.S. and 31% of which were directed by women. The 100-film lineup also includes shorts and, for the first time, music videos.
"This year we look forward to increasing our audience through new online formats we believe have the ability, in the long run, to level the playing field for the independent filmmaker," Slamdance president and co-founder Peter Baxter said.
Bringing the fest to a worldwide audience for the first time, the films also will stream live at a new Web site, indieroad.net/slamdance, part of Slamdance's newly formed online venture with Indieroad.net.

Mark Harmon and Tricia O'Kelley will star in the indie romantic comedy Weather Girl.
Andy Richter and Blair Underwood also are in final negotiations to join the cast.
The film centers on a Seattle morning show weathergirl (O'Kelley) who, after learning her boyfriend (Harmon) has cheated on her, is fired after freaking out on-air. Forced to move in with her little brother and to cope with being 35, single and unemployed, she begins an unlikely romance with a younger man -- her brother's best friend.
Patrick J. Adams (Friday Night Lights) has been cast as Byron, the younger man, while Ryan Devlin (Veronica Mars) will play O'Kelley's younger brother and Kaitlin Olson (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) will play Harmon's co-host.
Jane Lynch (The 40-Year-Old Virgin) also has been cast as the manager of a restaurant who hires O'Kelley to wait tables.
Also cast are Marin Hinkle, Alex Kapp Horner and Enrico Colantonio.
The film, being directed by Blayne Weaver through his Secret Identity Prods., is set to begin production this month and is expected to complete filming in March.
