Eminem just went nuclear on Donald Trump ... dropping a freestyle at The Bet Hip-Hop Awards that ripped The Prez apart. The nearly 5 minute-long segment touched on everything from Trump's criticism of NFL players taking a knee to his proposed border wall. Among some of Em's highlight lyrics ... -"Racism's the only thing he's fantastic for." -"I'm throwing that piece of s*** against the wall til it sticks." -And giving a big "F*** You" to...

Although Drake took home four Bet Hip-Hop Awards (including Album of the Year and Best Hip-Hop Video), it was NYC's Bobby Shmurda who closed out the show — with Terrio by his side — because this year, the Shmoney Dance is king. The rest of your very, very brief recap: Uncle Snoop, a.k.a. Snoop Dogg, or the Artist Formerly Known As Snoop Lion, hosted; notable performances included Common and Migos; and most important, the Cyphers. You had G-Eazy; Lil Mama, Logic and Troy Ave; Vic Mensa and David Banner; Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, and Ty Dolla $ign; and in what is definitely the most romantic Cypher of all time, Remy Ma and her beau, Papoose. If you're gonna watch anything, watch Remy and Papoose declare their reign over Bey and Jay in verse. (Starts at 1:34) And here's Bobby Shmurda: (Sorry about that autoplay. Truly.)...

Kendrick Lamar has definitely taken "Control" over this situation. The Compton-based rapper, who made headlines recently after calling out a number of big name MCs during his freestyle on the Big Sean track, has further proven that he is quickly dominating the rap game by earning himself 14 nominations for this year's Bet Hip-Hop Awards. Lamar is the show's reigning Lyricist of the Year and his 2012 album good kid, m.A.A.d city, which recently sold more than 1 million units. Drake came in right behind Kendrick with 13 nominations and J. Cole scored 10 nods. The big story from this year's Bet Hip-Hop Awards — which were taped a few weeks back in Atlanta and aired last night — was that Rick Ross and Young Jeezy got into a fight backstage (and then in the parking lot, according to Flex). But other things happened, too! Such as: a particularly rousing tribute to the late Chris Lighty, founder of Violator Management, who died last month. And the cyphers, of course (Donald "Childish Gambino" Glover made it into one, which is a decision you can discuss among yourselves). Oh, and they gave out some awards, like G.O.O.D. Music's "Mercy" for Best Collaboration and Drake's "Hyfr" for Best Hip-Hop Video. But those are not really the point. (Warning: possibly terrifying auto-play ahead.)Here's the Chris Lighty tribute, featuring A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Missy Elliott, and 50 Cent: The "Man With the Iron Fists" cypher,...

Calling all hip-hop heads, tonight was your night. Between rap crews showing off their skills through The Cypher, performances by some of the game's biggest names (Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, Missy Elliot and 2 Chainz just to name a few) and, of course, finding out who came on top, the Bet Hip-Hop Awards hosted by the hilarious Mike Epps (who reminded us to ratchet down the ratchetness and keep it classy) gave us quite a show. Saturday's Bet Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta were marred by several rap world rivalries boiling over into all-out brawls. There were Rick Ross and Young Jeezy, former collaborators turned nemeses, who got into a heated argument that led to a pushing and shoving match backstage that spilled out into the parking lot. Police say no shots were fired, despite several witnesses saying they heard them. And then there was a scuffle between rapper Gunplay and a member of 50 Cent's entourage that ended in police separating the two with mace spray. Story: Bet Hip-Hop Awards: Footage of Rick

Atlanta — Atlanta police officers broke up an altercation Saturday evening between two groups at the seventh annual Bet Hip-Hop Awards, but no arrests were made.
Police spokesman Carlos Campos said officers responded to the scuffle at around 7:30 p.m. in the backstage area of the awards show, held at a downtown civic center. Campos said there were no injuries or shots fired.
Police have not released the identities of those involved in the scuffle.
The altercation took place around the same time as a tribute performance to hip-hop mogul Chris Lighty, who committed suicide last month.
Bet officials told The Associated Press that the awards show was not interrupted.
Kanye West, who received the most nominations with 17, didn't attend the event. The show will air on Bet on Oct. 9.
Rapper LL Cool J paid homage in remarks to Lighty, who he says helped shape his career and many others in hip-hop.

New York — Chris Brown is known pop singer, a slick bedroom crooner and at other times, a Euro-flavored dance singer. But it's his rapping that has taken his career to new heights.
With his hit single "Look at Me Now," Brown has dominated more than just the R&B territory: The boastful track, which co-stars Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes, was Billboard's No. 1 rap song of 2011 and it's nominated for best rap song and best rap performance at Sunday's Grammy Awards, where Brown's competition includes Jay-z, Kanye West, Dr. Dre and Eminem.
The song is just another example of Brown's rapping prowess. At last year's Bet Hip-Hop Awards, Brown went toe-to-toe with other hip-hop acts during one segment, and was so strong he left 50 Cent wowed.
"Chris particularly was impressive," said 50 Cent. "He rapped better than the rappers. I'm going to give it up. I'm watching the show (like), `How did they let that happen?...

Washington, Oct 21: Ludacris has denied rumours that Justin Beiber approached him to pen down lyrics for 'Cypher flow', to enable him to get a spot in a group freestyle performance at the Bet Hip-Hop Awards.
The famous section of the awards ceremony known as 'Cypher'-is a pre-recorded musical segment. This year it was presented by DJ Premier and featured rappers Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Ludacris and B.o.B., along with Chris Brown.
Earlier this week DJ Premier had revealed that he was forced to reject Justin Beiber's entry in the cypher as he got to know that Beiber did not pen down his own lyrics and that he had asked Ludacris to pen down the lyrics for him, Contactmusic reports.

Washington, Oct 19: Dj Premier has disclosed that he banned Justin Bieber from taking part in a freestyle rap performance at the 'Bet Hip-Hop Awards'.
The legendary producer has revealed that he was forced to reject Bieber as he wasn't going to pen his own lyrics and was planning to spit a verse written by Ludacris.
"Justin Bieber even asked if he could do the cypher. Everybody was worried that it might mess up the integrity of Bet but I was like, '(As) long as he got a dope rhyme, let him spit'," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
"But, then we heard, 'He wants Luda to write his rhyme.' I was like, 'Oh, no, no, no, no, no.' If you ain't (sic) writing your own rhyme, you can't do it. So, Justin, you gotta take a backseat.

Diddy apparently has strong feelings about vodka, as one club go-er learned the hard way over the weekend. The incident began last Saturday night after the 2011 Bet Hip-hop Awards in Atlanta. Diddy and his entourage rolled over to the nearby Compound club after the show, where a reveler named Ricky Parker was apparently drinking Grey Goose vodka. Whether he was doing this to intentionally piss Diddy off remains to be seen, but the rapper/Circoc Vodka spokesman definitely wasn’t happy. We’re sure he meant to express his displeasure at Ricky’s beverage choice in a sane, calm, and rational manner, befitting a man of Diddy’s stature. However, it came out of his mouth as: “B-tch ass n—s! Put that s–t down before I come smack that purple shirt off your ass!”
Things got even worse as Diddy reportedly threw ice at the man, then began screaming racial and homophobic slurs.

Good music stands the test of time. Just ask Jay-z.
The Roc Nation chief spent the better part of 2010 riding the wave of success from 2009's The Blueprint 3. Songs like "Empire State of Mind," "Forever Young," "On to the Next One" and "Run This Town" kept BP3 on the Billboard albums chart for 56 weeks, well into 2010. Jay racked up awards for Best Rap Solo Performance for "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)" and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Rap Song for "Run This Town" at the Grammys. He won CD of the Year for BP3 and Best Live Performer at the Bet Hip-Hop Awards. He toured the country on the BP3 Tour (which yielded him a reported $1 million a show) and split Home and Home...

In hip-hop, the streets do the talking. And in 2010, the streets anointed Rick Ross their savior.
Not only did his fourth LP, Teflon Don, debut at #2 on the Billboard albums chart in July with 176,300 sold its first week, but Ross had the undeniable street anthem "B.M.F. (Blowin' Money Fast)," which sold more than 100,000 copies despite being available on the free Albert Anastasia Ep. What's more, he was still fighting off criticism from being outed as a corrections officer and beefing with 50 Cent. But good music can't be stopped, and Ross supplied plenty of it this year, so the MTV News Hip-Hop Brain Trust voted him 2010's #5 Hottest Mc in the Game, the same ranking he received last year.

Some music fans might think of B.o.B as a guitar-strumming pop star, thanks to breakout hits "Nothin' on You" and "Airplanes," but he is also an Mc who struggles to make sure he includes just the right amount of hip-hop in his songs.
His selection as the #9 Hottest Mc in the Game, as voted by MTV News' Hip-Hop Brain Trust, certifies that he's striking just the right balance.
"For me, you know, you always run into that risk of not having enough balance in your music when you're trying to make a wide variety of music," B.o.B told MTV News on Tuesday (October 19) about his inclusion on the list. A year ago, despite being a fixture on MTV's Mixtape Daily, Bobby Ray was stuck in major-label limbo and contemplating giving it all up.
