Bruce Miller has stepped down from his post as showrunner of the “The Handmaid’s Tale,” passing his duties on the sixth and final season to Eric Tuchman and Yahlin Chang, who already served as writers and executive producers.
Miller has showrun the Hulu drama since its premiere in 2017. He will remain on staff as a writer and executive producer on Season 6 while moving on to focus on developing a screen adaptation “The Testaments,” the “Handmaid’s Tale” sequel that original author Margaret Atwood wrote in 2019.
Tuchman has extended his preexisting overall deal with MGM, which serves as the studio on the series. Along with “The Handmaid’s Tale,” he is best known for writing for the 1997 animated “Anastasia” movie and serving as showrunner on “Kyle Xy,” with other credits including Freeform’s “Stitchers,” the CW’s “Beauty and the Beast,” Syfy’s “Alphas” and “Eureka” and CBS’ “Early Edition” and “Dr. Quinn,...

There’s a changing of the guard in the behind-the-scenes world of Gilead.
The Handmaid’s Tale showrunner Bruce Miller, who has steered Hulu’s Emmy-winning drama since its start, has handed over day-to-day oversight of the Elisabeth Moss series. Longtime writers and exec producers Eric Tuchman and Yahlin Chang have been named co-showrunners for the sixth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale, taking over the role previously held by Miller.
Miller has been steering development of The Testaments, author Margaret Atwood’s sequel to Handmaid’s Tale, at the same time as he’s been plotting the final season of the flagship series. With too much on his plate, Miller opted to focus on The Testaments, with Tuchman and Chang taking over the everyday decision-making on the flagship series. Miller, sources say, will still be highly involved with the final season and will write two episodes of the season.

She succeeds Charlie Andrews in the role, with Andrews exiting the company. The parting with Andrews is said to be on good terms, with his contract simply coming to an end.
Bowman was previously senior vice president in the Fox drama department. She will now report directly to Michael Thorn, president of entertainment at Fox Entertainment. She will be based in Los Angeles.
“Brooke has been an important and trusted part of our team, playing an invaluable role in helping shape and implement our blueprint to expand and diversify Fox’s slate,” said Thorn. “Supremely creative, well-respected across town and fearless in taking big swings, she is primed to take over the reins; and I’m excited to have her alongside as we steer our drama strategy well into the future.”

Exclusive: Charlie Andrews has stepped down as EVP, Drama Programming and Development at Fox Entertainment after fours years as head of the broadcast network’s drama department. Andrews, a well liked development executive, took over the Fox drama department in November 2017. His departure was amicable; I hear his contract was up and he left to pursue bigger responsibilities elsewhere as the top executive deck at Fox is pretty stacked.
As SVP Drama Programming and Development for the past six years, Bowman oversaw such series as The Resident, Prodigal Son, Lethal Weapon, BH90210, Rosewood, Scream Queens, Sleepy Hollow and,...

Beyond looks set to be Freeform's next big hit.
The new drama series focuses on Holden Matthews (Burkeley Duffield) who wakes up after 12 years from a coma.
Things take a strange turn for Holden when it becomes apparent that he has some crazy abilities that threaten to ruin his life.
With the world seemingly against him, Holden must try to navigate this brave new world as he adapts to the changes.
Holden quickly realizes that the key to getting the truth about himself is to find out what happened during his 12 year coma.
The show marks a huge shift for the network that rebranded earlier this year.
With Pretty Little Liars officially concluding next year, Freeform is in dire need of some hits and Beyond sure looks like a good show to fit the bill.
The network has decided to launch Beyond on Monday, January 2, 2017 with a two-hour launch event.

It looks like Sara Lance may be finding love again on Legends of Tomorrow. The upcoming CW series has cast Ali Liebert (Harper’s Island, Kyle Xy) as a potential new love interest for Caity Lotz’s character. EW.com was the first to report the news. Per EW.com, Liebert will play Lindsay Carlisle, “a soft-spoken, intelligent lady who is the ideal picture of 1950s womanhood. Although she might seem at home amongst the strict morals of the time, she harbors a dark secret: she’s a lesbian. "Kyle Xy" and "Fringe" actress Ali Liebert is set to play the potential love interest for Caity Lotz's Sara Lance/White Canary in the upcoming The CW spin-off series "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" says EW.
Liebert would play Lindsy Carlisle, a "soft-spoken, intelligent lady who is the ideal picture of 1950s womanhood and harbors a dark secret - she's a lesbian. Doomed to suffer alone in a backwards time, she finds herself falling for a girl from the future - Sara Lance."
The casting would seemingly mean the end of Sara's relationship with Nyssa al-Ghul (Katrina Law). The trade says Lindsy will arrive at a time when Sara's troubled and cold hearted assassin character is not entirely sure she's ready to care about someone else. It's not clear when Lindsy will first appear in the series which...

Ali Liebert, who in recent years has hung out in the 1860s (on Strange Empire) and the 1940s (as one of the Bomb Girls), next will call the 1950s home — as a guest star on The CW’s timey-wimey Legends of Tomorrow.

Liebert will appear in an episode of the midseason Arrow/Flash offshoot as Lindsay Carlisle, a mild-mannered, closeted nurse who awakens something in Sara Lance/White Canary (played by Caity Lotz) that had been dormant since her death (understandably!) and eventual resurrection via the Lazarus Pit.

Here's a cool Christmas scoop for ya: Entertainment Weekly has learned that the CW has cast Ali Liebert (Kyle Xy; Fringe) as Lindsy Carlisle. Her character is being eyed as a potential love interest for Caity Lotz's Sara Lance, which will seemingly drive a stake through her relationship with Katrina Law's Nyssa al-Ghul. Carlisle has been described as "a soft-spoken, intelligent lady who is the ideal picture of 1950s womanhood. Before introducing their little boy, Matt and Blue explain how they decided on adoption rather than surrogacy, saying, "We've been talking about having kids for a long time . . . so it was just a matter of when, timing-wise, and how. Of course, there was surrogacy, you can have your own [biological] kid, [or] private adoption . . . we spent nights, as we were going to bed, on our iPads, reading on different ways you can adopt. On last week’s episode of Blindspot, it looked like we were going to have a gunfight between the CIA and the FBI. It was also looking like Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander, Kyle Xy) was not really Taylor Shaw after all. Even more importantly, Zapata (Audrey Esparza, Public Morals) was becoming a snitch to pay off her gambling debts. Confused or intrigued? Let’s dive into this week’s episode to try to make sense of it all. The beginning of “Cede Your Soul” looked like something out of a soft-core, made-for-Cinemax movie. The scene shows Jane Doe getting it on with someone who appears to be … Continue reading →

So is Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander, Kyle Xy) really Taylor Shaw or what? Five episodes in, I don’t think we have a more clear answer. While science seems to be contradicting a bit, a new set of flashbacks could be steering us in one direction. Plus, Weller (Sullivan Stapleton, Strike Back) seems so sure — and really, is that guy ever wrong? Episode 5, “Split The Law,” kicks off with a guy hailing a cab. That seems pretty normal, but he wants to go the Empire State Building in the middle of the night. That’s not the bizarre thing, though. … Continue reading →

Last week’s Blindspot ended with multiple cliffhangers. Did anyone out there think we were actually going to get answers this week? Tonight’s episode was definitely filled with all sorts of surprises. Episode 2 ended with Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander, Kyle Xy) having a surprise reunion with the bearded man (Johnny Whitworth) from her flashbacks. Instead of picking up where we left off, “Eight Slim Grins” opens on a shot of what’s in Jane Doe’s refrigerator. Maybe she’s taking a look at what she has on hand for more unexpected company? Actually, the above scene seems to take place right before she met … Continue reading →

Well, this week’s Blindspot episode was pretty explosive — in more ways than one. In addition to meeting a criminal with access to a deadly drone, there were plenty of other bombs dropped. So let’s get to it, shall we? It seems that Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander, Kyle Xy) still doesn’t remember who she is, which shouldn’t be all that surprising. It’s only the second episode! While she contemplates her identity, a doctor asks that she do the Rorschach test. The hope is that these crazy images may trigger a memory. Of course they will.
