Joe Newcomb serves as Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Truth Industries, which comprises an expanding portfolio of businesses including commodities production, marketing and distribution, real estate, private equity, and entertainment.
Joe, a graduate of the University of Memphis, played professional baseball for the Toronto Blue Jays Organization before an unfortunate injury ended his professional baseball career. He then went back to the University of Memphis earning his degree in Business Administration in 1990.
His 25 plus year career started by working for the former Arcadian Corporation (Acquired by PotashCorp and now Nutrien), a Fortune 500 company and the nation's largest producer of Nitrogen fertilizer. In 1993, Mr. Newcomb began his management career with Shrieve Chemical Company in the Woodlands, Texas, which included stints as a Regional Sales Manager, Vice President, Board Member and Shareholder.
In 2002, Joe founded his first company, Truth Chemical. A chemical and fertilizer marketing, trading and distribution business serving the agriculture, oil, gas and drilling business sectors as well the consumer lawn and garden market. In 2010, Martin Resources purchased the Sulfur Products Business from Truth Chemical.
In 2012, Newcomb founded the production company Truth Entertainment. Their first film, Dallas Buyers Club, starring Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto, was praised by audiences and critics alike. The film grossed over $100 million worldwide and was nominated for six Academy Awards®, taking home an Oscar for lead actor, supporting actor and makeup and hair.
In 2018 Jerry Newcomb, former President of Truth Industries and Cousin of Joe together partnered to form NeuAG, LLC.
In spring 2019, along with MLB agent Joe Brennan, former MLB All-Star Adam Dunn, and All-Star Aaron Hill, Mr. Newcomb co-founded Truth Sports. As an agency, Truth Sports core values are rooted in honesty, hard work, transparency, trust, and integrity.
Mr. Newcomb supports a variety of charitable organizations and is a founding member of The Woodlands Chapter of the Lumen Institute for business leaders. He resides in the Woodlands, Texas with his wife of 30 years and their four children
